Vnukovo what is inside. New traffic pattern on the station square at Vnukovo airport. Night bus to Vnukovo airport

Vnukovo (VKO) is Moscow’s international air hub, located ten kilometers from the Moscow Ring Road. On an area of eight hundred thousand hectares there are three terminal complexes (Vnukovo 1, 2, 3) for passengers and one cargo terminal (Vnukovo-Cargo).

This airfield is famous for the fact that Vnukovo 2 serves flights of the Russian President, as well as airliners of other high-ranking officials. Vnukovo 3 is intended for business aviation, and Roscosmos airliners and Moscow government aircraft are also based here.

Vnukovo's capacity is more than eighteen million people. The main share of passenger traffic falls on the Vnukovo 1 terminal complex. It is also considered a hub (technical base) for carriers: UTair, Rossiya, Rusline, Gazpromavia, charter flights I Fly and budget airline Pobeda.

This air gate consists of three terminals (A, B, D). Terminal A began operation eight years ago (in 2010) and was recognized as the largest in Russia. Terminals B and D are located in close proximity to each other and are connected by a common pedestrian area.

Terminal A can only be accessed from a separate entrance, but in the coming years it is planned to modernize it, during which they plan to combine this site with terminal B, and dismantle building D.

Terminal A

The terminal building consists of five levels:

  • - 1st ground floor. Aeroexpress trains arrive here from the Kievskaya metro station. On the floor there are lockers, toilets, information desks, and self-registration kiosks.

From the ground floor you can go through an underground passage to the Vnukovo hotel complex, which is a fifteen-minute walk from the terminal. Vnukovo is a two-star hotel with single and double rooms. The hotel is equipped with a park area with a lake, flower beds, and children's playgrounds.

Layout of floors and main infrastructure

From the railway terminal there are exits to the first floor arrivals area, public transport stops, multi-level parking and the second floor departures area;

  • The 1st floor belongs to the arrivals area, connected to the ground floor railway terminal by escalators and elevators. The hall contains three baggage claim counters, three information kiosks, two cafeterias, an airport taxi service, an unclaimed baggage room, two communication salons, ticket offices, and a toll-free passenger-police telephone.

In the right wing of this level, opposite the unclaimed baggage area, the procedure for registering weapons that the passenger wishes to carry is carried out. This service is located before the security checkpoint and is intended for those who have already arrived at the airport;

  • The main arrivals area is one level above the ground floor. The hall is divided into two parts. The right one is for domestic flights, and the left one is for international flights.

This space does not have a variety of infrastructure (toilets, changing rooms, information desks for transit passengers). Registration of transit passengers takes place here, there are exits to the first floor to baggage claim and to the second floor to the departure area of the connecting flight;

  • 2nd floor – departure area. The most crowded room for services and operations carried out here. The space is designed in the shape of a vessel, in the narrow part of which all the main formalities for the departure of passengers take place.

Eighty-eight check-in counters are located here. They serve passengers of both international and local lines. Access to the departure area is free. On the floor there are also terminals for self-check-in for flights, information kiosks, bank branches, a post office, service centers, ticket offices, a cafe, a first-aid post, and a children's playroom.

There is baggage storage on the floor, and excess baggage payment kiosks are located next to the check-in counters. The first aid station can be found in the right wing of the complex, the rest room for mother and child can be found on the left side, next to the gate for domestic flights.

Large baggage check-in and services for passengers with disabilities also take place here. An Internet cafe can be visited on the right side of the terminal next to the communication center and pharmacy.

An endless number of cafes, bars, and duty free shops are located in the passenger boarding area, where passengers enter after passing through passport and customs control. Each zone has a business lounge;

  • The last floor is the third. It is occupied by VIP lounges for business class passengers. There are also offices of major air carriers, cafes, restaurants, and exits to domestic and international flights. On this same floor, the clearance of transported weapons for VIPs takes place.

The entire air complex of Terminal A meets all international standards. It will also be convenient for passengers with disabilities, since there is not a single threshold in the building; a “smooth floor” system is provided at all levels, with smooth transitions, spacious elevators and ramps.

Terminal B has ceased operations since 2016, the airlines of this complex have been transferred to the site of Terminal A. But if you look at the diagram of the official Vnukovo website www.vnukovo.ru, you can see that Terminal B is now used as a separate building of the international passenger terminal of the VIP lounge .

Terminal D is being phased out. As of April 2018, it is used as a post-flight inspection area for passengers on some domestic flights. The hall has a children's room with changing tables, comfortable cribs for babies up to 7 years old, playgrounds, soft sofas for resting and feeding.

Other terminal complexes at Vnukovo

Vnukovo – 2

This air complex is closed to ordinary citizens. You can get here as a passenger if you are a member of a government delegation. Flights on all airliners are provided by the special flight squad "Russia", subordinate to the Presidential Administration.

A fleet of sixty-four aircraft of various modifications and capacities is based at the government airfield. The terminal has been in operation since 1956. In 2009, a new building, Vnukovo 2, appeared, which is impossible to see due to increased security requirements and a high metal fence.

Vnukovo – 3

These are several buildings designed to serve VIP passengers. VIPport Vnukovo 3 is the name of the Moscow government complex. It is used for the reception and departure of city hall delegations and its guests.

Terminal Energia is the air zone of the Rocket and Space Corporation. Private business jets land here, as well as luxury charter flights. Next to it is ABT Vnukovo - 3. It is capable of receiving VIP persons from private airlines or delegations of no more than fifteen people.

Access to all traffic lines to the terminals and to the overpass (departure area of terminal A) is completely closed to all types of private transport, as well as cars of taxi companies. Entry from Borovskoye Highway towards Vnukovo Airport is also closed. From Borovskoe Highway to Terminal A of Vnukovo Airport you can drive from the street. Central. Passenger pick-up and drop-off takes place in front of the Double Tree by Hilton hotel.

In addition, the tariffs and access route to multi-level parking lots No. 1 and No. 2 have been changed. Now there are exit barriers towards the street. Central operates both for entry and exit. The cost of each hour has decreased by 2 times and is now 250 rubles; there is no free time for using parking lots.

For the convenience of arriving guests, road signs installed at the entrances to the airport and other information signs regulating new traffic have been updated.

Vnukovo Airport strongly recommends planning your arrival time in advance, as well as using public transport and Aeroexpress trains. The bus stop was moved from the station square to the street. 1st Reisovaya, from where you can get to Terminal A via an underground pedestrian crossing.

Vnukovo is one of the oldest airports in the country; in terms of passenger volume it ranks 3rd after Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo. But its status is significant: it serves flights of the presidential and government apparatus of Russia, Roscosmos aviation and visits of international government flights. Vnukovo has the encoding VKO or UUWW. This is the largest and most modern airport in the capital.

Moscow Vnukovo Airport consists of three terminals. From international and domestic airlines you will get to Terminal A of Vnukovo-1, Terminal B is not working and is being prepared for reconstruction, Terminal D is used for post-flight inspection of individual passengers and baggage. The airport's VIP lounge is located in a separate building nearby. Terminals B and D are connected by an internal walkway. From Terminal A you can only get to Terminals B and D across the street.

How the airport works

Terminal A of Vnukovo has three floors and a zero level - an underground Aeroexpress station. From the ground level from the glass doors of the station, turn right and go up to the terminal itself by elevator. If you turn left and left again, you will find yourself on the street to the main entrance to the terminal. Luggage storage and self-check-in counters are located on level -1 of Vnukovo Airport.
From the parking lot or public transport, enter the first floor; getting out of the car on the overpass (entrance to it is free) will take you directly to the departure area of the second floor, but parking there is prohibited and you will not be able to exit through the same door from the terminal onto the street.

On the ground floor of the Vnukovo terminal, in addition to the entrance and exit, there are baggage claim areas with 10 conveyor belts. There is also a Lost & Found service, a 24-hour bank branch and ATMs, transagency counters, taxis and car rental services. In the waiting room for greeting passengers there is a café and a communications salon.

We depart from the second floor, where check-in counters, customs control and the boarding gate are located. Conveniently, check-in counters are assigned to specific airlines. It doesn't matter whether it's a domestic flight or an international one, search by the airline's name. In the same place you can pack your luggage and pay for overload. There are self-registration kiosks near each island with counters.
For passengers on the 2nd floor there are food outlets and shops, a first-aid post, bank branches and ATMs, and a police station.

The boarding gates are located just behind the check-in counters, go through the security area and you will be in a sterile area. On the left side there is boarding for domestic flights, on the right there are waiting rooms and gates for international flights. At the entrance opposite gate 2828A there is a transfer area for domestic flights.

In the sterile area there are Duty Free shops (international flights area) and Duty Paid shops (domestic flights area), a children's playground, and a business lounge.

How to quickly leave Vnukovo towards Moscow

If you walk 450 m from the terminal along 1st Reisovaya to Tsentralnaya, you will get to the Hotel stop on three routes 611/911/272. Buses 911 and 272 will take you to the Salaryevo metro station, and 611 to Troparevo or Yugo-Zapadnaya. You can also get off at Rumyantsevo, but the path to the metro is not close and along the highway, with bulky luggage we do not recommend this option: cross the overpass, walk a little forward along the road and to the left towards the office buildings, on the right hand side there will be a station.

The airport bus stop is located to the side behind multi-storey parking lots. After leaving the building, go forward, going around the parking lot, to the overpass. After passing under it, cross 2 roads and you will go straight to two stops. The required stop towards Moscow is located further from the intersection, follow the route indicated on the bus, you need a sign to the Yugo-Zapadnaya metro station. Use this stop to board the empty bus at the terminus.

Near Terminal A of the airport there are only minibuses, which depart as they fill with passengers, approximately once every half hour. When traveling from Vnukovo to Moscow, stay away from route 526 to the Teply Stan metro station; it takes 1 hour 44 minutes to reach the metro station, making 49 stops.

Opposite Terminal A you will find a parking lot for 45 minibuses, which for 150 rubles will take you to the Yugo-Zapadnoye metro station in 20 minutes: fast, but not the most economical option.

At the airport, on the 2nd floor of Terminal A, there is a children's room on the left. For those departing, its services are free; a child under 7 years old with an accompanying adult will be allowed in for a maximum of 6 hours. The room is filled with toys, there are playgrounds and a slide, you can read, draw, watch cartoons. For very young passengers there is an area with a crib, changing table and high chair.

Despite the fact that Vnukovo is the oldest airport in Moscow, its infrastructure is quite conveniently designed and allows you to quickly find your way around. The layout of Vnukovo Airport is quite simple - the complex consists of 3 terminals - A, B and D. In addition, there is a closed VIP terminal serving the government and charter flights.

  • Vnukovo-1 is intended for passenger flights.
  • Vnukovo-2 is a government terminal. Despite the fact that Vnukovo is the smallest airport in Moscow, its importance cannot be underestimated, since among the people it serves are the president of the country and members of the governments of foreign countries. The terminal is located one and a half kilometers from the passenger complex.
  • Vnukovo-3 is a business aviation service center located westward on the airfield. The complex has direct access to Borovskoye Highway.

Passenger complex Vnukovo-1

Vnukovo-1 air terminal is the most popular complex, consisting of three terminals adjacent to each other. Vnukovo A - this terminal serves the majority of domestic and international flights operating regularly. Vnukovo B accepts charters. Vnukovo D only accepts flights from the North Caucasus. It is partially decommissioned.

Terminal A

The main building that deserves special attention is Terminal A. It consists of several levels, including underground. This is the most spacious terminal, equipped in accordance with modern requirements.

The underground level is combined with the railway station, where the Aeroexpress train arrives; it is in many ways similar to the capital’s metro. The lower level is connected to the upper halls of the terminal by an elevator.

The first level of the terminal is designed to serve arriving flights and is equipped with a waiting room for greeting passengers. Here, arriving passengers undergo customs control and receive their luggage.

The second level is designed to serve departing passengers. Check-in counters are located here, where customs and passport control are carried out, as well as boarding gates. In a sterile area, all the infrastructure that passengers may need is located. Shops, children's rooms, ATMs, cafes and cinemas. The boarding gates are also located here: on the right side of the terminal for international flights, and on the left for domestic flights.

The third level houses airline representative offices and business lounges. It impresses with its huge space and high undulating ceiling, decorated with glass inserts.

Switching between terminals

Looking at the diagram, you will notice that the Entrance to Terminal A is located on the underground level, so you can get to the terminal from Aeroexpress without going outside, which significantly reduces travel time if the departure is from Terminal A. You can also get to the terminal from the location area multi-storey parking lots. The diagram shows that they are located near the exit from the overpass.

On the opposite side, opposite the parking lots, there is a bus stop from which buses depart to the Yugo-Zapadnaya metro station. Thus, there is also an entrance to Terminal A from public transport stops.

This terminal can also be accessed from the overpass (check-in is free) through the departures area located on the second floor.

You can only go from Terminal A to Terminal B or D along the street. This should be taken into account when planning your time so as not to miss your flight.

It is impossible to get from the overpass to terminals B and D. The entrance to the terminals is located at ground level.

Terminal D can be reached by using the entrance to Terminal B. Both terminals are connected by a walkway. There is no separate exit from Terminal D. As the diagram shows, it is located between terminals A and B and is a walk-through.

Important! Since August 2015, the exit pattern from Terminal A has been changed. The ability to use the exit from the departure area, located on the second level of Terminal A, to the overpass, is limited. This was done in order to increase the safety of passengers and eliminate congestion that began to form on the overpass as a result of drivers’ abuse of parking rules on the overpass.

You need to check your departure terminal in advance, as well as review the route between terminals according to the airport map in order to prevent being late for your flight.
