First trip to the sea - practical recommendations. Abroad for the first time. My personal experience What needs to be done

We all do something for the first time sometime. When you do something for the first time, you are very afraid or not even afraid, but are internally tense because you will have to experience something new. So it is with traveling abroad for the first time. Before my first trip abroad, I was very worried and asked a lot of questions to those who had already been there. And I think this is correct. If you are planning to travel abroad for the first time and you have questions, we will try to help you.

What's better? Buy a tour from a tour operator or go wild?

You've probably often heard from friends and acquaintances that it's cheaper to go abroad as a savage. Is it true? We would like to note that if you are traveling abroad for the first time, it is better to buy a tour from a tour operator. At least you will see with your own eyes what it’s like abroad. And then decide whether to go wild or through a tour operator.

Which is cheaper? Should I buy a tour from a tour operator or go on my own? It all depends on the direction and time of your trip. Sometimes it is much cheaper to go through a tour operator, sometimes to travel on your own. In any case, you can compare two travel options and choose the most inexpensive option.

If you buy a tour from a tour operator, then everything will be organized for you. They pay for your hotel, plane and provide a transfer (take you from the airport to the hotel and back). Also, a representative of the tour operator is on call 24/7 and can come to you at any time. If you are traveling as a wild person, then you book a hotel yourself, pay for the plane and get to the hotel. And no one is responsible for you! Also keep in mind that you may have problems with air tickets. The plane may be canceled or there will be no tickets. And you will have to solve this problem yourself. In addition, the tour operator insures you, which is especially important if you are traveling to an exotic country where you can “catch an infection.”

Travel alone or with someone?

On my second trip abroad, I was tormented by the question of whether I should go alone or not. What to say? Feel free to travel to Europe alone. It is better to go to Egypt, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and the countries of Southeast Asia together.

Traveling alone has its advantages. No one will bother you to discover the country. You can go wherever you want and do what you want. By the way, many Russians go to European resorts alone, and you can find a couple for your vacation there.

Questions about air travel

If you cannot fly on an airplane, or you are pregnant, then it is better not to risk it. After all, flying on an airplane is a strain on all body systems. And it is not clear how your body will behave. If you have a problem with motion sickness in transport, then be sure to buy special tablets for motion sickness; any pharmacy will tell you them. In addition, on vacation you may also have boat trips, where you will need pills.

Wear comfortable clothes and shoes on the plane. Take a warm jacket with you; airplanes can often get cold. Buy yourself a neck pillow. Also remember that you cannot bring piercing or cutting objects, water bottles, or glass objects on the plane. Therefore, leave all cosmetic bags (applies to ladies) in the bag that you check in as luggage.

For entertainment, take interesting books or a tablet to watch your favorite movies. Also, take a small backpack or bag with you on the plane, where you put the necessary medications and documents.

Also know that after checking documents and customs, you will be taken to a special area where there are duty-free shops and cafes. Here you can drink tea or coffee, buy alcohol, perfumes and other things inexpensively.

Do you need to know the language?

One of the most common questions among those traveling abroad for the first time is whether you need to know the language of the country you are going to or English?

If you plan to travel constantly, then it is worth learning English at a conversational level. In all countries, people who are associated with the tourism industry know English and speak it. Therefore, learn English if you want to travel around the world.

For those who buy tours to Turkey, Egypt, Spain and Greece, Thailand, we hasten to assure you that it is not necessary to know English. Basically, employees of hotels, travel agencies and the entertainment industry can speak a little Russian. And in many cafes and restaurants you will find menus in Russian.

In OAO, the Canary Islands, Southeast Asia and other countries less popular with tourists, it is mandatory to know English. Otherwise, you will not be able to eat “normally” and navigate the area. Of course, our tourists often travel to these countries without knowing English, but it’s still better to explain yourself a little.

For example, if you want to travel around the country not on tourist routes, but as a savage, then be sure to learn English!

Do you need to know the language of the country you are traveling to? If you are traveling to an exotic country where the tourism industry is poorly developed, then yes, be sure to study. If you are traveling to a country where the locals rely on tourism for their livelihood, you can learn some colloquial phrases; they won’t hurt. And, perhaps, knowing the language of the country will help you discover it from the other side.

By the way, you can learn a travel language on your own using video courses. We recommend the video course “Express English course for travelers (3 hours of video).

Basics of safety abroad

If you are traveling abroad for the first time, pay attention to safety issues. Firstly, be sure to read information about the country you are traveling to. On the tour operator’s website for each country where tours are available, there is a memo that tells about the basic laws and customs that will ensure your safe holiday. You can ask a travel agency employee to print out such a memo for you. And of course, do not go to areas where foreigners are not recommended to be. Strictly follow all tour operator safety recommendations!

As soon as you check into the hotel, be sure to rent a safe. It usually doesn't cost much. Store documents, phones, money and valuables in the safe. Every hotel has safes.

If you plan to actively travel around the country, then buy yourself a tourist backpack with secret pockets where you can put all your valuables. And don't leave this backpack unattended! In general, even if you are going to “lie” on the beach, then take a backpack. It’s easier to take things out of a bag, or out of your hands. As you already understand, keep an eye on your belongings when abroad!

Are you going on holiday to an exotic country? Buy excursion tours from tour operators. Still, they provide guarantees of your safety. When purchasing tours from “leftist” agencies, there is a risk of suffering financially and causing harm to health.

And remember that all insurance is canceled if something happens to you while intoxicated. You will pay for all treatment and so on, and all these services abroad are quite expensive. So don't drink too much! In addition, while intoxicated, you can lose money and documents.

Take on your trip abroad the medications that you personally need, including for the treatment of the stomach, intestines, anti-inflammatory drugs and for colds and fever. Often, due to changes in climate and cuisine, tourists develop a fever or have intestinal problems. This is called acclimatization. Or, due to ignorance of the kitchen, you may simply eat something that will upset your digestion. So get ready!

Money

Another question that tourists who go abroad for the first time ask is what to do with money. First, ask your friends who have already been to this country about how much money they spent on the trip, or read reviews of tourists on the Internet.

Literally plan out all your travel expenses. Determine your budget and emergency reserves. Exchange this amount of money in Russia. And when traveling, strictly follow your budget. You can also take your bank card with you. But what if you can’t withdraw money abroad?

As we noted earlier, it is better to keep your money in a hotel safe. Carry small amounts of money with you. Firstly, you will spend less on various little things, and secondly, in the event of theft, loss of money from a backpack or clothes, the money will remain in your hotel safe.

And we also note that do not be afraid and feel free to go abroad for the first time. The same people live there as in Russia. If you follow their rules and respect them, everything will be fine. And you will discover another world for yourself. And never let your guard down!

It is possible that you have more questions, but before my trip abroad for the first time, I was interested in all of this. And after my first trip, this is how I answered my questions.

This is my first time flying (travelling) abroad, I’m afraid. I’m flying on an airplane for the first time, what should I do, what should I know? What do those who are flying abroad for the first time need to know? What to do at the airport, how not to miss the plane, how to go through registration, customs and passport control at the airport?

Are you going abroad, abroad on vacation or on a business trip for the first time? This article contains the whole path, the algorithm, from purchasing a tour to collecting the necessary things for the trip, what to do if you are traveling with children, arriving at the airport, checking in for the flight, customs and passport control, arrival, transfer, check-in at the hotel and etc. before leaving the hotel. Have a comfortable trip abroad!

Buy a tour

The very first thing to do is choose a good tour. Travel agency staff will help you with this. They will select and book rooms in a suitable hotel. Typically, booking takes from a few minutes to several hours. Afterwards the contract is signed.

If you have chosen a tour to a country with which you have entered into an agreement with visa-free entry, then you do not need to prepare additional documents.

If you need a visa, you must give the travel agency employees: international passport, 3x4 photo, medical certificates, income certificates, as well as money to pay for a visa.

Keep in mind that if you travel to a “visa” country, you may be denied entry into the country even if the voucher has already been purchased. Therefore, purchase “cancellation insurance”, in which case in an unforeseen situation you will get your money back.

The contract with the travel agency must contain the following information:

  • country visited;
  • how many people the tour is designed for;
  • does the price include meals (breakfasts, breakfasts and dinners, all inclusive) or not;
  • detailed information about the hotel;
  • length of stay;
  • perhaps other data.

After concluding the contract, the travel agency employee must provide you with information about the departure time and flight number.

As a rule, all the necessary documents will be given a few days or a few hours before departure - it all depends on the accepted practice of the company.

Of course, if it is agreed that documents will be issued several hours before departure, natural concerns arise. What if the employee doesn’t come? What if something is wrong with the documents? Don't worry! This is a well-established practice; the company carefully checks everything and makes sure that you receive your documents in a timely manner - any discrepancies are excluded. All documents are waiting at the operator's desk at the airport three hours before departure. All you have to do is pick it up. If you have children traveling with you,

After receiving, no matter at the office of a travel company or at the airport, be sure to check the documents.

The package must contain for each traveler:

  • a set of air tickets (round trip, as well as for intermediate flights, if provided). The ticket can be provided electronically on plain paper;
  • voucher (three copies) granting the right to stay at the hotel;
  • individual medical insurance with detailed conditions.

Be sure to learn about the country's traditions, religious rituals, history, important monuments and shrines. Familiarize yourself with some laws that may affect you. For example, is it prohibited to drink alcohol or smoke in public places, etc. It's good if you can learn a few phrases that will help in the future.

Be sure to make copies of all documents you take with you on your trip. Also take care to make and save an electronic copy of your passport in your mailbox. In an unforeseen situation, you can print documents anywhere in the world.

Upon arrival at the hotel, immediately resolve the issue with the safe. All documents, jewelry, bank cards must be stored only in a safe. Take copies with you, as well as the money and cards you plan to use.

Stock up on a first aid kit, which should contain a set of the most commonly used medications:

  • antipyretics;
  • painkillers;
  • drugs used for food poisoning and gastrointestinal disorders;
  • drugs to avoid burns and minimize their consequences;
  • adhesive plaster;
  • medications that you are forced to take constantly, as well as anti-allergy medications.

Remember, some drugs may be prohibited for import into a particular country. Therefore, you must have a prescription certified by a doctor’s seal.

Separately write down, preferably in several places, all the telephone numbers that you may need: bank, tour operator, embassy, numbers of relatives and close friends. This way you will save a lot of nerves and time in case of unforeseen circumstances.

When leaving the hotel, do not take all the money at once, but only a certain amount and only one card that you plan to use.

Before your trip, check the expiration date of your payment cards and write down your PIN codes separately. It would be useful to clarify the conditions for using bank cards abroad. It is possible that your card is only valid within the country, or that a fee will be deducted in other states.

If there are restrictions, get another card with favorable conditions.

When calculating your travel budget, assume that you need to spend 50 dollars or euros per day. This way you will avoid troubles and be able to relax normally, go on tours and buy memorable souvenirs.

In many countries, for example in Egypt, Turkey, merchants can accept both local currency and dollars and euros. They often offer their own course, which is significantly worse than the official one, and the purchase price will increase. It is better to change currency at one of the points, for example at a hotel, airport or directly in Kazakhstan. Do not use special exchange machines - they usually have an inflated exchange rate.

When paying for a purchase, try to minimize the use of a bank card; it is better to pay in cash. Just in case, it doesn’t hurt to have “money in plastic” with you.

When planning a trip, remember that the total baggage per person should not exceed 20 kg (for economy class) or 30 kg (for first and business class). You will have to pay extra for the excess. The weight of each individual bag can exceed 30 kg.

To protect your luggage from possible damage, and primarily from theft, wrap the bag with stretch film, wrapping it many times. You can find out more about the rules for carrying hand luggage at the airport.

Do not take parcels, packages, bags from strangers or even acquaintances to give to friends, relatives, etc. who meet you in a foreign country; there are international delivery services for this. If there is something forbidden hidden inside the package, you will be jailed.

How to fit a lot of things in one suitcase? How to properly compactly pack a suitcase for a trip? In general, if you don’t want to know how to put all your things in a suitcase so that everything fits, watch the video “How to pack 100 things in one suitcase.”

If we are traveling with a child. Minimizing the risk of illness

A week before departure on the tour, minimize all contact with other children. Consult your pediatrician; it may not hurt to prescribe your baby medications that strengthen the immune system.

If you go to a place where there are a lot of children, your risk of getting an infection increases dramatically. It is better to plan your vacation for June, September, or in winter (excluding the winter holidays). If that doesn’t work out, then it’s better to pay attention to tourist destinations that are less popular among vacationers.

Always keep fever reducers, food poisoning and allergy medications in your first aid kit.

Departure

So, after you have received the documents, check their completeness. Must be:

  • round trip air tickets. Please note that seats are marked on tickets immediately upon check-in before departure;
  • a voucher granting the right to check into a hotel. Check the hotel, length of stay, whether meals are included in the price;
  • Passports must contain visas (in the form of a stamp or a pasted hologram). Usually they are placed on any free page of the passport, not necessarily in a row, for example in the middle of the document. After you have received and checked your documents, you will have to: - go through customs, check in your luggage, check in for your flight and go through passport control.

If this is your first time at the airport, you can sit behind one of the passengers on your flight and follow him through all the necessary procedures.

Below you will learn in detail about each stage before boarding the plane.

customs control

At this stage, customs officers check whether you are carrying items prohibited for export or import: antiques, etc. It is necessary to declare an amount in any currency equivalent to 10,000 US dollars or more.

There are two areas at customs:

  • "Green corridor" Passengers who do not carry prohibited items, such as tourists, usually pass through;
  • "Red channel intended for passengers who need to fill out a declaration.

Remember, after passing through control, customs officers can selectively inspect the luggage of any passenger. Usually they pay attention to those who are in a hurry or nervous. Therefore, do not try to hide anything to avoid serious problems.

After passing through customs control, you can no longer return to the hall.

check-in

It is recommended to arrive at the airport no later than two hours before departure. The flight number is indicated on the ticket. Upon arrival, look for information on the desired flight on special boards. On the screen you will see the numbers of the counters (up to five counters can be allocated) where check-in is underway for the flight you need.

When checking in, you can politely ask for the most comfortable seats, for example, by the window or vice versa, closer to the aisle if you are flying with a small child.

At the check-in counter you check in your luggage, receive boarding passes (they will act as a pass when entering the plane), which will contain very important information for you, namely the gate number, in English “Gate”, flight number and departure time .
For example, GATE 11 means gate 11 - there you will need to look for your plane. 40 minutes before departure, they will announce over the loudspeaker that boarding for your flight is beginning, the gate number is such and such - come over.

At the check-in counter you also check your luggage, leaving your hand luggage with you(marked with a special sticker, and a similar sticker is given to you), the airport employee marks the hand luggage with a sticker - “Into the cabin”.

After passing through a special corridor, you find yourself on the plane. Here, flight attendants will help you get into your seats and serve drinks and food during the flight. If you are flying with children, bring food to the airport and on the plane.

Passport control

You need to go through passport control one at a time. Minors travel together with their parents or an accompanying person.

Show the airport employee your passport and boarding pass- he will make a note in his passport about crossing the state border. From now on you are in neutral territory.

If you are going to fly abroad in a large group, it is better to immediately distribute passports to everyone and include a boarding pass in them to speed up the process.

During passport control, you must go through a metal detector, and hand luggage is checked separately. Don't worry, this is standard procedure to ensure your safety and the safety of your flight.

After completing all the procedures, you find yourself in the waiting room. Here you can buy souvenirs, alcoholic drinks, clothes and other goods in the duty free zone. You can pay for goods in tenge, US dollars or euros.

In the waiting room, pay close attention to the information on the screens. The start of boarding for your flight (usually 30-40 minutes before departure) will be announced over the loudspeaker. To board the desired aircraft, proceed to the Gate indicated on your boarding pass.

Before boarding, you may be checked again with a metal detector. To board the plane, present your ticket and passport to the airport employee.

After arriving at the airport at your destination

Upon arrival at your destination at the airport, you go through all the procedures, but in reverse order. The exception is personal search. You won't have to go through it again.

To go through passport control after arrival, prepare the following documents:

  • international passport;
  • immigration card. You need to enter personal information in it: first name, last name, citizenship, arrival flight number, period for which you arrived in the country, name of the hotel where the rooms are booked. If you have children on the tour, you need to enter information about them. When filling out the card, do not hesitate to ask for help from passengers who can read and write English.
  • in countries such as Egypt, Thailand, Türkiye and in other countries with an easier visa regime for Kazakhstan, you can get a visa right at the airport. It is presented in the form of a sticker-mark with a hologram. You only need to purchase one sticker for each passport. If your children are included in your passport, you do not need to purchase a visa for them separately.

The border service officer puts a corresponding stamp on the foreign passport indicating entry into the country. He may also ask to see a voucher confirming your hotel reservation.

When you go out to the airport, don’t be scared, it just seems like a big and inhospitable labyrinth. Follow the crowd and join the flow. There is nowhere else to go, no matter what country you are in. In fact, everything is very simple, you just run your nose first to passport control, and from there to the baggage belt. Next, look for a representative of the tour operator among the crowd of people greeting you. You can recognize him by a special sign or T-shirt with an inscription. Here you check in, a representative will show you which bus to go to.

We receive luggage

To claim your luggage, find the transfer belt that matches your flight. Here you can collect your luggage. Don't confuse your luggage with someone else's. To make sure that the bag is yours without printing it, compare the number of the sticker pasted and the one you have on hand.

Then hand over your luggage to the bus driver and take one of the empty seats.

If you cannot find your luggage, contact the baggage tracing service, providing the sticker you have on hand. If you do not speak other languages, look for the sign of the tour operator representative who meets you and tell your situation.

Transfer

Transfer is delivery from the airport to the hotel. Don't be afraid to miss the bus; the guides won't leave until the whole group has gathered. But don't keep others waiting either.

During the transfer, you can ask your guide for the most important information: features of the country, the most profitable and closest currency exchange points, and he will also indicate where you can meet with another guide who will supervise your stay in the country throughout the entire period.

If for some reason you are forced to stay late, you can also get to the hotel by taxi. Just show the driver your voucher with your hotel information and he will take you to your desired destination. Remember, this trip is at your own expense.

Hotel

After arriving at the hotel, you can leave your luggage in a special place. Don’t be afraid to contact the staff, they will help you with everything. Now you need to contact the receptionist and provide your voucher and passport. To check in, fill out a special form (one per room).

Abroad, it is common practice to ask visitors for a deposit- this is a certain amount (usually 100 US dollars) that you leave for using the telephone, the Internet, and the bar in the room. Don't worry. If you do not use paid services, the money will be returned in full or in part, minus payment for the services provided.

Unfortunately, it is often impossible to receive the keys before two o'clock in the afternoon local time. Therefore, if you arrived earlier, you can relax in a specially designated area or familiarize yourself with the hotel infrastructure.

After checking into your room, inspect it. Check if everything works (TV, air conditioning, hot shower, lights are on). Wait until evening. Perhaps the music playing from the window is too loud, interfering with sleep. If you are not satisfied with anything, ask for another number, citing the identified problems.

Be sure to store all documents, money, and jewelry in a safe. Some hotels provide this service for an additional fee.

We leave the hotel

Check-out from the hotel in most countries around the world is carried out before 12 noon local time. By this time, you must collect all your things and hand over the keys to the administrator at the Reception. If your flight is in the evening, your luggage can be checked into a storage room.

Porters will help you carry heavy luggage (Luggage boy)- call Reception to call them. Before transfer to the airport, you will be able to freely use the hotel infrastructure (in some hotels only a paid part of the services), luggage is stored free of charge.

Upon arrival at the airport, you need to go through the already familiar procedures.

The first difficulty that novice car enthusiasts face is getting the car off smoothly. I pressed the pedal a little wrong, and that’s it - the car stalls or drives jerkily. But all this does not matter, because every experienced car enthusiast at one time learned to drive a car in the same way. And today we will delve into this issue in detail and find out

What needs to be done?

You have three pedals and a gear knob at your disposal. On cars with an automatic transmission there are only two: gas and brake - and, frankly speaking, there is nothing to learn there. In the case of an automatic transmission, the electronics do everything for you, so the question of “how to start the car and drive” is not so pressing. It is much more difficult to master the skill of driving with a manual transmission. Therefore, we will consider it specifically. So, how to properly start driving a car? First, before turning the ignition key, you need to assess the situation: if the car is standing on a slope and first gear is engaged, there is a risk that if you do it incorrectly, it will go or roll down the hill. To prevent either one from happening, press the brake and depress the clutch pedal.

When the car starts, press the leftmost pedal again (at the same time, if the car is on a slope, do not release the brake) and move the gearshift lever to the desired position. It is not recommended to start in second or worse third gear. Firstly, this is a large load on the engine and secondly, the car simply will not move or will stall immediately.

Smoothly release the clutch pedal and press the gas with the same force until the tachometer needle rises to the green scale. So, you felt that the car began to slowly move. To prevent it from stalling further, continue to vary the two pedals with the same force. At the same time, press the gas a little more confidently, but not to the floor, so that the car does not crash into the nearest obstacle. When the clutch is completely released, continue driving until you are required to shift to a higher gear. Don't be afraid to press the gas pedal because the car is about to fly. Slowly press on it and everything will be fine. With experience you will develop this skill.

Switching gears

We have already considered the question “how to properly start a car”; now let’s move on to how to do it correctly. In principle, there is nothing complicated here, and the algorithm of action is very similar. Before driving your car in second gear, remember that first you need to wait until the engine reaches the required speed. When the tachometer needle leaves the green scale, we begin to switch. First, we depress the clutch, move the gearshift lever to the neutral position for one second, after which we engage the second one according to the diagram. The second action is necessary in order to reduce the load on the transmission gears when changing gears. Now, as in the first case, release the clutch and press the gas. Do the same when switching subsequent speeds.

Conclusion

So, we have found out the main nuances when starting a car and changing gears. At this stage, the question “how to properly start a car” can be considered closed.

Drivers are not born, drivers are made. Believe me, almost all motorists, including dashing minibus drivers who are able to simultaneously steer, shift, drink coffee, talk on the phone and count out change in dense city traffic, were once beginners whose hands trembled and their backs were sweating during their first independent trips.

So, you are a newbie who has recently received your driving license and is slowly racking up kilometers along the well-known streets of your city. After weeks or months (it’s different for everyone), you already have a more or less tolerable skill in driving in urban conditions and begin to notice with satisfaction that the driving process ceases to be a constant stress for you.

After some time, you begin to enjoy driving.

However, sooner or later in the life of almost any novice driver, another stage begins that can damage a lot of nerve cells.

We are talking about the need for the first trip to a country road. Believe me, this is a very important moment, since the experience of a beginner driving on the highway can have a great influence on his further development as a driver.

How to go on the track for the first time as a beginner? In this article we will try to formulate some useful recommendations for those who are going to drive onto the highway for the first time in their lives.

In general, beginners should not drive onto country highways unless absolutely necessary for the first time after receiving their license. But there are situations when circumstances force a beginner to get behind the wheel and go conquer his first kilometers of federal highways.

When going out on the highway, first of all, get rid of the illusion that you are already an experienced driver. The fact that you stopped stalling when starting from a stop and learned to start uphill almost without rolling back does not mean anything at all. You must be clearly aware that you are an inexperienced beginner on the track.

From the point of view of the driving process itself, driving on the highway, in itself, is no more difficult than in the city. And even vice versa, to some extent it is simpler (less maneuvers, less movements, everyone goes in the same direction). But at the same time, it is much more dangerous, since the cost of a mistake is incredibly high. After all, if an accident in the city is, as a rule, only repair of broken iron, then on the highway everything often ends much worse. The vast majority of accidents involving death or serious injury occur on highways where cars are traveling at very high speeds.

Are you afraid to overtake a truck that is traveling 70 km/h because you see it as a risk? Don't overtake. Follow her for 2, 3, 5, or at least 20 kilometers and overtake her only in the place where you have one hundred percent confidence in the safety of the maneuver. As time passes, you will learn to more objectively assess the degree of risk on the highways and overtaking a truck will no longer be an event for you. But while you still don’t know how to do this, don’t take unnecessary risks. Remember - they are waiting for you at home safe and sound.

Are you afraid to drive more than 100 km/h because you have not yet learned how to fully control the car at such speeds and feel discomfort? Drive slower. 80-90 km/h for the highway is a completely normal speed at which most trucks move.

However, it is also not recommended to drive very slowly on the highway, since there is a high risk that some racer at 160 km/h could fly behind him, who could not have foreseen that the car in front of him was moving at a snail’s pace.

On highways with traffic in several lanes, try not to get into the far left lane unless absolutely necessary - drive in the right lane.

Be sure to indicate all your maneuvers on the highway with turn signals in advance. In principle, this should be done at all times and everywhere, but on the highway this rule is especially relevant, since here it is customary to drive at high speeds and there may not be enough time to navigate a given situation.

Before overtaking, changing lanes, or turning, be sure to look in the mirrors - it often happens that someone behind you has already started overtaking before you.

Always keep a distance from cars in front and read the traffic situation in advance. Don't count on your brakes, no matter how good they are. If you notice that the traffic ahead has slowed down, you don’t need to approach it headlong and then brake recklessly - this is a very bad habit that is inherent in thoughtless and adventurous drivers. It is much easier and safer to release the gas pedal in advance.

When driving out on the highway, remember: your safety is in your own hands!

Everything happens for the first time, including the first trip to the sea with a child. Many people put off this moment, fearing the difficulties that may arise during a long and distant journey, however, the completely natural fear of parents is not yet a reason to deprive the baby of the pleasure of splashing around in sea water. If you are afraid, don’t do it, but if you do, don’t be afraid. So if you are already planning to go on vacation, cast aside your fears and follow the instructions - then you won’t get lost anywhere.

Before changing your climate zone, be sure to consult your pediatrician. The fact is that children are more difficult to acclimatize, so many parents are not recommended to take their children to the sea until they reach 3-5 years of age. The acclimatization process itself consists of two components - getting used to the local climate and getting used to microorganisms that enter the body with food, water and air. Adults are less susceptible to these influences and therefore get used to everything much faster, although there are exceptions. It is more difficult for a child to adapt, since his body has not yet been trained by such loads.

At the same time, consult your doctor about what medications you should take with you and what should be included in a child’s first aid kit. As a rule, the standard package for a traveling mother looks like this:

  • antipyretic (Panadol, Nurofen, etc.);
  • immunomodulators (Viferon);
  • three types of remedies for the common cold: rinsing (Aquamaris, Aqualor, etc.), vasoconstrictor (Nazivin, Otrivin, etc.) and treatment (Isofra, Vibrocil, Collargol, etc.);
  • “Rescuer” ointment for bruises, burns and other injuries;
  • remedy for burns (spray “Panthenol”, “Solcoseryl”);
  • pain reliever for the ears (Otinum, Otipax);
  • analgesics (No-shpa, Analgin);
  • antihistamine (Suprastin, Tavegil);
  • cough medicines (syrup or spray);

Make sure you know all dosages in advance and be sure to get your pediatrician's cell phone number.

Documents and customs

There are unspoken rules according to which children of preschool age can go through customs without queuing. These rules apply to all countries, so if your child is tired or you are having a hard time, it is quite normal to ask the customs officers to let you skip the line.

When traveling abroad, you must have all the necessary documents with you. If a minor child goes on a trip without his parents, he must have with him:

  • international passport,
  • written notarized consent of both parents for his departure, accompanied by a specific person, indicating the dates of departure and entry, route and purpose of the trip.

In the case of a child leaving with one of the parents, according to the Federal Law of the Russian Federation “On the procedure for leaving the Russian Federation and entering the Russian Federation,” the consent of the second parent is not required. See Art. 20 “A minor citizen of the Russian Federation, as a rule, leaves the Russian Federation together with at least one of his parents, adoptive parents, guardians or trustees. If a minor citizen of the Russian Federation leaves the Russian Federation unaccompanied, he must have with him, in addition to his passport, a notarized consent of the named persons for the departure of the minor citizen of the Russian Federation, indicating the date of departure and the state he intends to visit.”

But the legislation in our country is far from practice, so border guards may require the consent of the second parent in writing, certified by a notary. So it is not recommended to travel without this paper. Moreover, in many countries this consent is mandatory.

Such consent is not required in the case of the legal absence of the second parent, which must be confirmed by relevant documents, such as:

  • a mother's book (previously it was called a single mother's book);
  • death certificate of the second parent;
  • document on deprivation of parental rights;
  • statement of the second parent about abandonment of the child;
  • a document from the court indicating that the whereabouts of the other parent cannot be determined.

If the child is traveling with his parents, then it is enough to take an international passport and a birth certificate, if the family has different surnames. It is also important to know that a child over 6 years old must be photographed, and his photo pasted into the parents’ passports.

Flight

All popular resorts have long had all the conditions to welcome even the youngest travelers. A mother and child room is an essential attribute of any airport. However, when going on vacation with your baby, you need to take into account a number of features of such a trip.

According to the rules adopted by almost all airlines in the world, children under 2 years of age fly free on airplanes. Flights in business class fall into the category of exceptions, where you need to pay 10% of the ticket price for a child. In both cases, there will be no separate seat, and the baby flies sitting on the parents’ lap. Bassinets for infants on board should be provided free of charge, the only question is whether there will be enough for everyone, so the airline must be notified in advance about this type of trip. You will also be easily allowed to take a stroller into the salon, but you will have to remove the wheels from it. With both a cradle and a stroller, you will need the first row of seats for the flight. There are no changing tables on the plane, so everything will have to be done by hand. And finally, remember that southern airports are very stuffy, so stock up on water for your baby.

Hotel

Children stay free in hotels, however, you need to notify the administration in advance that you will have a baby with you. All hotels must have children's beds, of three types - a playpen bed, a daybed with a side or a single cot for older children. In 4 and 5 star hotels, the baths are sterile, so you can bathe your child without any worries. Therefore, when traveling abroad with a baby, it is best to book rooms in good, proven hotels. There are practically no problems with diapers, toys and other things necessary for a child.

For children over one year old, 5-star hotels have special day and night nannies. Her services are paid locally and cost around $10-15 per hour. Moreover, during the day the child can be in the playroom, and at night he will be brought to your room. Whether to leave your baby under the supervision of a stranger is up to you to decide. If you don’t want to, then just buy a baby monitor, but then you won’t be able to go far from the room. For bottle-fed babies, you need to make sure that there is, where and how to make formula for night feeding. As practice shows, finding hot boiled water in a hotel in the middle of the night is not so easy. Yes, in any case, you will have to constantly run back and forth. So the easiest way is to buy a special camping kettle so that you can warm water without leaving your room.

Food and water for your baby

Good for those whose child is breastfed. No problem, drink and food are always with you. Other mothers have it more difficult. Hotels have a children's table, but it is designed for children with teeth, who can chew and do not have food allergies - omelettes, meatballs, yoghurts, ice cream, juices. As a rule, resort stores do not offer the usual food for our children. Other brands may not be suitable due to the different composition of the water. So you will have to bring food for an infant or a child with allergies (porridge, mixtures, etc.). For older kids, adult food ground in a blender or using a mixer is suitable.

As for water, the baby should only be given bottled water to drink, and it would be a good idea to bring it with you - the baby won’t need much. Do not give tap water under any circumstances, and try not to drink it yourself.

First access to the sea

For the sake of preserving the health of your child, it is worth remembering that the beach is an extreme zone for a baby. And the smaller the child, the greater the risk. So parents won’t be able to sunbathe in the sun unless they take turns watching, not letting the child out of sight.

According to most doctors, south beach is not the best place for a baby. So try to find shade, be it a grove, a forest, a canopy or an open bungalow - everything is better than a sunny place. Children no younger than one year old can fully explore the beach. And still, exposure to the sun should be strictly dosed. To form vitamin D, which is useful for your baby in winter, the body needs enough ultraviolet radiation received in the shade. But even in the shade, panama hats, caps or scarves are necessary, since the child’s head is easily vulnerable and he can get sunstroke. Don't overheat your children, but don't let them get sunburned, and don't ignore complaints of weakness, headache or nausea. At the first signs of overheating, the baby needs coolness, a constant flow of fresh air, plenty of fluids, and ice on the head and back of the neck.

The best time to visit the beach is from 7 to 10 am and after 16 o'clock in the south, from 9 to 12 and from 16 to 18 o'clock in the middle zone.

Always bring your strongest sunblock, plenty of drinking water and burn spray to the beach.

Do not put a diaper on your child, this will quickly lead to heatstroke, but also do not keep him naked - the child may get an infection, and sand that gets into the genitals will cause irritation. It is best to wear light panties made from natural fabrics on your baby.

According to doctors, eggs of human roundworms and other unpleasant microorganisms are often found in beach sand. Therefore, make sure that the baby does not put sand in his mouth or anything that has been on him - a bottle, a pacifier, a toy...

You also need to bathe your baby carefully, especially for the first time. It would be a good idea to organize contrasting procedures for him before going to the sea - air baths, douches and rubdowns. After bathing the baby, you must immediately change into dry clothes, otherwise he may catch a cold. The average comfortable water temperature for children is 22-24 degrees Celsius. In the middle zone the conditions are different - no colder than 20 degrees.

You should only go into the water after being in the shade; strong contrasts are harmful for children. Keep bandages, cotton wool, peroxide and iodine ready to quickly treat the wound if your baby steps on any splinters or sharp shells. Avoid jellyfish and other sea creatures, many of them are poisonous. After bathing, dry your baby's ears with a cotton wick.

Follow the rules of behavior on the beach, do not swim when the sea level is higher than 3, beware of catamarans and jet skis, which are often driven along the shore by drunken extreme sports enthusiasts. Keep an eye on your child, do not leave him alone for a moment, even if he knows how to swim.

If the baby does choke, then as an emergency aid, you can put him with his stomach on your knee so that his head is below the level of his body, while his legs can be raised. Applying slight pressure, massage your back, making sure that water pours out of your mouth (before this, you need to release the sunken tongue with two fingers). If cardiac arrest occurs, this measure is not enough - you will need closed cardiac massage and artificial respiration, which not everyone knows. That's why doctors warn - rest with your child in places where there is special coastal medical care. Or take a special first aid course.

Enjoy your holiday!
