The most unusual station of the Moscow metro. Metro station "Polezhaevskaya". The most unusual station of the Moscow metro The third way on Polezhaevskaya

The Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line is the seventh branch of the Moscow Metro. On maps of the capital's subway it is designated by the lucky number 7 and is graphically represented in purple. This line can surprise. In addition to the fact that it is one of the busiest lines of the Moscow metro, and despite the fact that almost all of its stations are unique and have no other underground analogues, this is the only line of the Moscow metro completely located on one side of the Moskva River and neither never crosses it (not taking into account the short Kakhovskaya line, consisting of only three stations). An inquisitive traveler can tell many interesting stories about each of the stopping points. And one of them is the Polezhaevskaya metro station.

Origin

The capital's subway was built in stages, in parts. The same applies to the purple line (Zhdanovsko-Krasnopresnenskaya at that time). On December 30, 1972, when the Polezhaevskaya metro station first opened, this line did not yet exist, but there were only two separate radii: Taganskaya-Zhdanovskaya (the former name of the Vykhino station) and Barrikadnaya-Oktyabrskoe Pole, which included which the new stopping point entered. The name of the station was given in honor of Vasily Dementievich Polezhaev, Hero of Socialist Labor, foreman of the tunnelers and later the head of the Moscow Metro Construction. This is evidenced in one of the station's vestibules.

Station name

Without exaggeration, we can say that “Polezhaevskaya” is a unique metro station and the only one of its kind in the Moscow subway. It has two platforms and as many as three railway tracks for supplying passenger trains. The station's lobby is one of the widest in the capital's metro and is second in cross-section only to the Partizanskaya station on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line. The station was put into operation at a time when the city was actively developing, Moscow was growing like mushrooms after rain, and Moscow was growing and expanding.

Metro "Polezhaevskaya" is one of those stations that was not named for its urban or geographical location. There are few such stations in Moscow, but they exist. For example, the station "Kropotkinskaya" or the same "Partizanskaya". Although the project names of the station “Khoroshevskaya” and “Ulitsa Kuusinen” could have been, and in 1992 the metro station “Polezhaevskaya” was practically renamed “Khoroshevskaya” (even the diagrams where it is so designated have been preserved), it managed to retain its original historical Name.

Transfer station

The station's vestibules lead out onto the same Kuusinen Street and Khoroshevskoe Highway. This is where proposals arose to link it to the city plan. Moreover, the convenient territorial location of the station was noticed by leaders back in the days of the Union republics. According to the project of the architects of that time, the station was supposed to become an interchange hub, and a special third track was intended for a promising branch that was supposed to go to Serebryany Bor. And although the plans of the leaders of the proletariat were not destined to come true, since the project was rejected by the highest authority, the Polezhaevskaya metro station will nevertheless become an interchange hub, and the third track will be reactivated for passengers, putting it into operation for its intended purpose and the designers’ intentions. Starting from 2017, they plan to launch a branch of the third interchange circuit through Polezhaevskaya, connecting it with the already designed Khoroshevskaya station.

Screen tests

Currently, the station's third track is not being used entirely for its intended purpose. Almost all filming of films and TV series that take place in the metro takes place here. This fully applies to commercials as well. The non-working platform and railway track enjoy great fame among directors and producers. After all, to film in the Moscow subway, you always have to coordinate a huge number of documents and obtain mountains of permits. In the case of "Polezhaevskaya" everything is much simpler. The third track is leased out for temporary use to filmmakers under a specially developed standard contract.

Decoration and architecture

The Polezhaevskaya metro station is located between the Begovaya and Ona stops and is shallow with a depth of only 10 meters from the surface. The station is columnar, three-span with an increased spacing between the load-bearing columns, 25 pieces in one row. The exit to the famous third track comes from the second track by a turnout, and its length is 340 meters. The third path is a dead end. The modern appearance of the station was developed by architects L.N. Popov, A.F. Fokina, as well as design engineer N.M. Silina.

The columns, shaped like a regular octagon in cross section, are decorated with white and yellow marble of different shades and are located in the center of each platform. The walls of the tracks are lined with white, and the floor is made of non-staining gray granite. The passage and sales areas are finished with gray granite. "Polezhaevskaya" is a metro station that was mentioned in the world famous novel by D. Glukhovsky "Metro 2033".

In connection with the construction of the new Khoroshevskaya metro station of the Third Interchange Circuit of the Moscow Metro, starting from November 14, 2015, the eastern vestibule of the Polezhaevskaya metro station of the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line is closed. The preliminary closing date is more than a year, until December 30, 2016. In official documents of the metro, this lobby is considered to be the southern one, and in the press release it was indicated generally as “Vestibule No. 1 (last car from the center).” Today I will show you what has changed at the existing station.

The Polezhaevskaya station is unique in its own way. It has two platforms and three paths (the same as “Partisan”), but all this time only one platform and two paths were working. The second platform was closed, and the third track was (and still is) used for the night placement of trains.

This is what the station looked like before the lobby was closed.

Trains traveling to the center opened doors to the left side familiar to passengers, like an island platform.

This is exactly what the station has looked like for more than 40 years. With a second platform closed to passengers.

The entrance to the station is through an under-street passage, both on the western and eastern sides. Naturally, we will go where it is no longer possible to go today. All stalls are closed.

East lobby of Polezhaevskaya before closing.

If I understand correctly, then it is in this place that there will be a transition to the future Khoroshevskaya metro station.

Passengers went down the stairs and up the escalator.

Several days before the closure, notices were posted at the station announcing the closure. I categorically refuse to accept the fact that the metro calls the concourses “north” and “south”. Even on the map this is clearly visible. For me they will be “Western” and “Eastern”, excuse me.

A participant in the train parade for the 80th anniversary of the metro on the Circle Line on May 15-16, 2015 arrives at Polezhaevskaya.

On Saturday, November 14, 2015, everything changed. The second platform of the Polezhaevskaya station was opened for passengers for the first time.

The east lobby was closed. By the way, according to all the announcements and the press release, the under-street crossing under Khoroshevskoe Highway was also supposed to be closed, but it is still working.

Nothing has changed in the Planernaya direction. But trains going to the center now open the doors to the right side, to the “new” platform.

This is the same path that is used to arrange the trains. Previously, a branch line was planned from this station to Serebryany Bor and Strogino, but it was never implemented.

The unusual “Polezhaevskaya station - platform on the right” sounds on the trains.

Many people ask: why was it necessary to open a second platform? Is one not enough? I answer: yes, not enough.

Additional exit turnstiles were opened for passengers exiting the “new” platform.

If only one platform had been left for passengers, it might not have withstood such stress, because passenger traffic is no longer distributed between two lobbies, everyone goes in one direction. On a narrow platform, even during rush hour, it can be downright dangerous.

Therefore, now there is one platform for travel to the region, and another for travel to the center.

Resale real estate near the Polezhaevskaya metro station (Khoroshevsky district, Northern Administrative District) attracts those who want to enjoy the benefits of the center, but avoid its disadvantages - dense buildings, flow of visitors, high prices. Three subway stations and a 10-minute drive (without transfer, along the same Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line) separate local residents from Pushkinskaya Square and st. Tverskoy. The road to the very “heart” of the capital - Alexander Garden, Okhotny Ryad, Arbat - is only 5-7 minutes longer. The Khoroshevskoye Highway runs through the microdistrict, from which you can go to the Third Transport Ring and then to the center by personal car or by public transport: there are about 20 city routes near the metro stops.

Residents of an apartment near Polezhaevskaya metro station do not have to leave the area to have fun or shop. Directly from the station, free buses depart every 15 minutes to Europe’s largest shopping center “Aviapark”, where in addition to shops and restaurants there is a 17-screen cinema “KARO” and a year-round skating rink. Lovers of natural scenery can take a walk in the nearby Birch Grove Park.

"Vtorichka" near the metro station "Polezhaevskaya": review of proposals

In the 20th century, the microdistrict experienced several waves of development, the legacy of which periodically appears in the catalogs of real estate agencies. Most often, housing from the “old stock” is put up for sale in brick “Stalin” buildings and mass-produced panel houses from the 70s–90s. The latter are worth paying attention to if you want to buy an apartment near the Polezhaevskaya metro station for an amount comparable to the cost of housing in “sleeping areas” more distant from the center.

Metro station "Polezhaevskaya" is a station on the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line. It is located between the Oktyabrskoye Pole and Begovaya stations.

Station history

The station was opened for passengers on December 30, 1972; it became part of the Barrikadnaya - Oktyabrskoye Pole metro section.

History of the name

The station received its name in honor of V.D. Polezhaev, who initially worked as a foreman for tunnelers, and later became the head of the Moscow Metro Construction. It is interesting that in Moscow very few stations are named not after a facility located nearby. However, the station project included the names “Kuusinen Street” and “Khoroshevskaya”.

Description of the station

"Polezhaevskaya" is a shallow station. But at the same time, it has an unusual design. The station has three tracks, and between them there are two platforms. In the central part of each platform there is a row consisting of twenty-five columns. The track walls are covered with white ceramic tiles. The platform floors are lined with gray granite. The columns are decorated with wavy marble, white and yellow. The walls and columns in the station lobbies are decorated with gray marble.

Specifications

The station has a three-vault column-type structure. The foundation is shallow, the depth is 10 meters. The station has two island rectangular platforms.

Lobbies and transfers

Passengers at the station use only one platform for boarding and disembarking. In this case, trains move along two tracks that run near this platform.

The station has two underground lobbies. A staircase leads to the north concourse from the station's open platform. The south lobby is accessed by stairs and an escalator. Through the underground passage of the northern lobby, metro passengers can get to Khoroshevskoe Highway, Sorge and Kuusinen streets. From the southern lobby, an underground passage leads to Khoroshevskoye Highway, as well as to Khodynskoye Pole and Magistralnye streets. Perhaps in the future there will be a transfer to the Third Interchange Circuit or to the Big Circle Line.

Attractions

Near the Polezhaevskaya station there is a historical area - Khodynskoe Field. The first mention of it dates back to 1389. Until 2003, there was an airfield here. Today, construction is underway here, and it is planned to create an aviation museum.

Ground infrastructure

Near the Polezhaevskaya metro station there are many food and industrial stores and a shopping center. There are a number of medical institutions and pharmacies. There are schools and kindergartens, and a driving school. Entertainment facilities include restaurants and a billiards club.

Useful facts

The station begins work at 5:45 a.m. and ends at 1:00 a.m. Mobile operators Beeline, Megafon, MTS work at the station.

There is information that they are going to create an exposition of the Moscow Metro rolling stock museum on an unused platform.
