According to historical data, the first settlements on this land appeared in ancient times. During the Crimean Khanate, the village was called Karadzha. Since the 19th century, the names of the village have changed frequently. So, it was called Stepanovka, and Tarkhankut (since it is located on the Tarkhankut Peninsula), and Karagadzhi. Only in 1944 was it given a name that has remained to this day. In Soviet times, Olenevka was a closed area where various military forces were located, and only after the collapse of the USSR the village acquired a resort character. Today it is a favorite place for travelers - savages, divers and just tourists who want unity with nature.

There is a fairly frequent bus service from Evpatoria and Simferopol to Olenevka, the schedule of which can be found in the Yandex search engine. You can also get to your destination by your own car. The approximate distance from Evpatoria is 90 km, and from Simferopol – 160 km.

Tourists suffering from diseases of the cardiovascular system and various skin diseases often come here, and the fresh sea air, combined with a dry climate, has a beneficial effect on the respiratory system.

Fans of sandy beaches will definitely like Olenevka. There are wonderful wild beaches with white sand and beautiful views of the rocks, and you can also find paid and free beaches. Travelers with tents and divers often stop on the wild coastline. The entrance to the sea is gentle, and the sea itself is not very deep, so this is a great place for swimming with children. The beach offers water activities such as banana boat rides and airplane rides.

The main attractions of this place are the Bolshoi and Maly Atlesh capes. Cape Bolshoy Atlesh is a forty-meter arch of rock with various coves and caves. Cape Maly Atlesh is a 98-meter through tunnel that amazes every imagination. To see all these beauties closer, you can rent a boat.

Also among the natural attractions of the resort is the so-called “cup of love”. It is a rounded part of the Black Sea, similar to a bowl and surrounded by low cliffs. The depth here is approximately 6 meters. The “cup of love” is connected to the sea by an underwater tunnel. The famous film “Amphibian Man” was filmed in these places, and it was through this tunnel that the main character swam to get to his father’s house. There is a popular belief that if a couple in love jumps into the water holding hands, they will live their whole lives together. There are usually quite a few such lovers.

Cape Atlesh and Cape Tarkhankut are very popular with divers. The water here is crystal clear and the underwater landscape is simply amazing. It was they who created another attraction under water - the Alley of Leaders Museum. You can read more about this museum on our website.

Our review of the holiday in Olenevka in Crimea. Prices for housing, food, excursions in 2019. We tell you about Cape Tarkhankut: how to get there and what to see.

I first learned about the peninsula and Cape Tarkhankut 5 years ago, when I was looking for interesting places in Crimea. Then there was almost no information about him on the Internet - a couple of short lines and a few photos. Olenevka, Tarkhankut, Dzhangul - such romantic, euphonious names and colorful photos excited my imagination, but I was not able to visit these places. A year later, I reached the cape and, together with Lesha, rode around it on a bicycle, and after another 4 years, by car and boat. The place is fantastic!

To see the sights of Tarkhankut, we recommend staying in Olenevka. There is a lot of housing, cafes and shops there, and it’s not far from the cape. There are few offers in the village of Mayak, but there are plenty of options in Chernomorsky.

Search hotels with discounts on Hotellook. Here are the main ones.

Rent a car- this is the best way to travel! - reliable and convenient car rental service in Crimea. Choose a car to suit your taste and budget - there is a wide choice. The cost of renting a car is from 1000 rubles per day. Do you have any questions? The Russian-speaking support service will help you with everything.

How to get to Tarkhankut

Where is Tarkhankut located? Tarkhankut is both a cape and a peninsula. It is located in the westernmost point of Crimea. In the northeast of the peninsula there is the Dzhangul landslide coast, in the southeast there is Atlesh.

How to get to Tarkhankut. The easiest way is by car to Olenevka or Mayak - your own or rented. From Yevpatoria there is a bus to Olenevka twice a day - at 10:15 and 16:20. The ticket costs 276 rubles. You can buy it at the bus station or online at www.gosbus.ru, see the current schedule there.

Housing prices in Olenevka - 2019

There are a lot of private housing and hotels in Olenevka - it seems that every second house is a guest house. It’s better to book in advance on Hotellook or search locally. In Crimea, it is customary to rent housing the old fashioned way - “Housing by the Sea” signs with telephone numbers hang everywhere. Hosts don't like working with booking systems because they have to pay a commission. They hand out business cards and ask you to call and book directly. These are such cunning people.

After booking your accommodation, call the owner and find out if he is really ready to host you. In Crimea, homeowners are unlucky and it may turn out that the owner is in Ukraine and has long forgotten that he posted an ad on the site. During our two weeks of vacation in Crimea in 2018, this happened to us twice.

Only about 1,500 people permanently live in the village; during the off-season, the owners of guest houses travel in all directions. Therefore, in the low season it is not so easy to find accommodation.

Prices for hotels and the private sector in Tarkhankut in 2019 are the same as throughout Crimea: in high season a double room with a bathroom in a guest house costs from 1000 rubles per night, but more often - from 1300 rubles. Accommodation in a hotel complex with a swimming pool - from 3,000 rubles.

And there was a time when we lived in Olenevka for 200 rubles in September! Now there is no trace of such prices, the minimum price in the private sector in low season- 800 rubles, high - 1500 rubles.

We lived in budget guest houses "Selena" and "Cactus" - we recommend it!

Food and shopping in Olenevka

Is it expensive to vacation in Olenevka in 2019? What are the prices for food and groceries?

Public catering. There is a dining room "Equator" and many cafes and restaurants: the super-budget "Anna", the inexpensive "Chaika", the Olivia del Mar and "Khutorok" restaurants, the "Barakuda" cafe and the "Miami Club" (it is located on the beach).

We ate at Anna: pasties 70-90 rubles, chicken chop - 150 rubles, mashed potatoes - 50 rubles, soups 100 rubles, lagman - 150 rubles, mullet - 100 rubles, dumplings 10 pcs. - 80 rubles, tea - 40 rubles, lemonade - 50 rubles. We also ate at Chaika - the prices are higher, but the food is tastier.

The shops. There are a lot of ordinary rural grocery stores, the selection there is good. There are no supermarkets. Prices are higher than in other cities of Crimea: bananas - 100 rubles per kg, oranges - 120 rubles, juice - 80-120 rubles per 1 liter.

Tarkhankut - Dzhangul - Olenevka

What to see on Tarkhankut

Natural attractions on Tarkhankut: Big and Small Atlesh, Cup of Love, Dzhangul landslide coast.

Big and Small Atlesh- these are dazzling white cliffs, undermined by water. They look like a festive layer cake. These are beautiful arches and fragments of rocks in the turquoise sea, wild inaccessible beaches, natural amphitheaters in bays, grottoes, underwater caves and the famous through channel in the cape. Scenes from the cult Soviet films “Pirates of the 20th Century” and “Amphibian Man” were filmed here.

Cup of Love in sunny weather it is not impressive - just a natural pool surrounded by reefs. In cloudy weather with a stormy sea, a completely different picture appears - this is no longer a pop attraction with a sentimental and vulgar legend, but a harsh coast with an alien landscape, like somewhere in Scotland or Iceland.

In inclement weather, the Cup of Love on Trahankut resembles the shores of Iceland.

Dzhangul landslide coast amazes with its scale and wildness. There are almost no tourists here, and from the banks there are views of landslides and landslides, which over time have become covered with grass and trees. The landscape interestingly combines the idyllic with the harsh and chaotic.

Dzhangul landslide coast.

The reserve is good for walking - there are many paths along the cliffs (about 5 km). However, it is more convenient to come by car, since the size of the tract is huge - 100 hectares. There are several bays and safe beaches, and off the coast there are the remains of the sunken cargo ship Sirius.

What else to see on Tarkhankut? Take a look at the snow-white lighthouse in the village of Mayak and the sunken cargo ship "Ibrahim-Yakim" nearby, and the "Thinker" monument. If you are into diving, visit the Alley of Leaders underwater museum.

What to do in Olenevka

Holidays in Olenevka are not so much beach holidays as active ones. The sea is considered the cleanest in Crimea, there are convenient dive sites and underwater reefs, so divers, paddle boarders, windsurfers and kitesurfers come here. There is a Wind Extreme Crimea school in the village - there you can study and get a certificate, as well as rent equipment.

There are bicycle and ATV rental points in the village. You can also go fishing, spearfishing, or take a boat ride.

Sea excursions around Tarkhankut

Is it worth taking a sea excursion around Tarkhankut? Yes, we really liked it! There are boat trips along Atlesh and Dzhangul. They are expensive, but worth it, because the coast is best viewed from the sea.

We took an hour-long walk along Atlesh for 3,000 rubles from Victor - he showed us caves, grottoes, took us for a ride through a through tunnel, and even, at our request, showed us dolphins up close!

Olenevka beaches

There is only one beach in Olenevka - the sandy Miami Beach. It is located on a long spit between the estuary and the sea. The beach is cleaned during the high season, its left side is landscaped. A sandy beach is a rarity in Crimea, so many tourists come to Olenevka for their holidays just for it.

When the sea is calm, Miami Beach becomes a paradise: the water is clear, the sand is light. If there are waves, the idyll disappears. The beach is good for families with small children, because the entrance is gentle and the sea is shallow. The sunsets here are very romantic.

This is how we saw Miami Beach in Olenevka for the first time in the calm before noon.

There are also beaches under cliffs on Tarkhankut. Nudists and lovers of secluded wild recreation stay there. However, this is unsafe - the coast is being washed away by the sea and the coast may collapse.

There are wild pebble and rocky beaches on Maly Atlesh - next to the Cup of Love, behind it and in Gniloya Bay. There is a campsite behind the Bowl.

Our review of Olenevka and Tarkhankut

For now, Tarkhankut is a secluded place far from civilization. Not everyone knows about it and comes here. There are few tourists in Olenevka, the infrastructure is poorly developed, but that’s the beauty of it. Perhaps in a few years the village will no longer be the same.

Who should go on vacation to Olenevka in 2019:

  • romantics and nature lovers;
  • lovers of sandy beaches;
  • athletes and fans of active sports;
  • tourists who love solitude.

general information

Olenevka traces its history back to ancient times. During excavations near the current buildings, archaeologists discovered a Greek settlement that existed on Tarkhankut in the 4th century BC.

The first information about the modern village dates back to the second half of the 18th century. After the annexation of Crimea to Russia, local residents emigrated to Turkey, and the actual Privy Councilor Vasily Stepanovich Popov became the owner of the lands. In documents from the beginning of the 19th century, in the village of Karadzhi there were 43 households in which 268 people lived.

In 1945, the coastal village was renamed Olenevka. Today there are about 1,500 people here. True, during the high season, up to 10-15 thousand tourists come to Olenevka on vacation.

The main local attraction is the ancient villa of the Yalta leader of the nobility Pavel Vasilyevich Popov. After the revolution, its owner emigrated to France, and the estate was nationalized. Today, the old buildings and the green park belong to the Solnechnaya Dolina boarding house.

What to do on vacation

Thanks to the small number of rivers, the sea on Tarkhankut warms up to +28°C and remains clear even at great depths. For this reason, Olenevka is very popular among fans of snorkeling, diving and underwater photography enthusiasts.

The resort village has dive clubs that teach scuba diving. Here you can rent equipment, fill cylinders and get advice from professional instructors. One of the most visited places is the Alley of Leaders. This is the name of the area of the sea near Cape Atlesh, where busts of famous politicians and revolutionaries are located under the water.

Steady winds attract windsurfing and kitesurfing fans to vacation in Olenevka. Beginners prefer to train in the calm Estuary, while experienced surfers conquer the waves in the open bay of the Black Sea. The season for windsurfers and kitesurfers begins on May 1st. At this time, sea water is already heated to a temperature of +20°C. May and June are considered the best months for skiing.

Sea fishing and cycling along the coast are popular among tourists vacationing in Olenevka. The northern part of the coast near the village ends in the sea with picturesque cliffs from 1 to 10 m high. Here are the Dzhangul nature reserve and the beautiful Bolshoy Kastel bay.

Many vacationers go on bus tours to the sights of Western Crimea and the Tarkhankut Peninsula - to the Kalos Limen archaeological reserve, the ancient Tarkhankut lighthouse and the dolphinarium in Bolshoi Atlesh. Tourists are taken to the “Cup of Love”, the rocks of the “Dzhangul” tract and the filming sites of the films “Pirates of the 20th Century” and “Amphibian Man”.

Olenevka beaches

Olenevka beach is one of the most beautiful in Crimea. It stretches along the coast of Karadzhinskaya Bay for 3 km, has a width of 20-40 m and is covered with fine light sand. About 0.6 km of the coast belongs to the boarding house "Sunny Valley". There are shade canopies and lifeguards are constantly on duty.

The entrance to the water is gentle throughout, and the seabed has no holes or large stones. The clear turquoise sea and warm shallow waters make Olenevka an excellent place to relax with small children. In summer, inflatable slides are installed on the village beach, changing cabins are available for vacationers, and small cafes are open.

Treatment in Olenevka

The resort village lies next to salt lakes, so many tourists are happy to combine a vacation in Olenevka with medical procedures. There is a lot of healing mud on lakes Liman, Big and Small Kipchak. Their bottom is lined with a thick layer of highly mineralized silt. Tarkhankut mud helps with diseases of the musculoskeletal system and skin diseases. Mud applications relieve joint pain, relieve attacks of rheumatism and rejuvenate the skin.

A licensed medical center has been opened at the Solnechnaya Dolina boarding house. Here, vacationers have access to consultations with doctors; patients can undergo an individual course of treatment, visit a herbal bar and spa treatments. The boarding house "Villa Tarkhankut" has a swimming pool with mineral water.

Latest reviews about holidays in Olenevka

We vacationed in Crimea for the first time in our lives. I’m glad that we ended up in Olenevka and specifically in the Marlin Hotel.
Hospitable hosts, clean rooms. The territory is a different story, when you just enter, you are enveloped in the aroma of flowers, everything is so green that in the heat the territory is cool and fresh. There is a swimming pool on the territory, but I didn’t swim, because the children didn’t get out of there)). And what a beach this is, I can’t describe in words, the water is clean, during our vacation we traveled almost the entire coast of the peninsula, there is no such beach as in Olenevka anywhere else. True, it’s a bit far from the sea; my three children and I walked once, then only by car. The nature is amazing, the lavender field is just there. I’d like to say separately about the food, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner in almost all establishments in the village of Olenevka, we tried almost the entire fish menu, delicious and fresh food from which we also enjoyed very much. You can eat on the premises of the Marlin Hotel, I loved their cheesecakes and pancakes with cottage cheese)) The vacation was a success, wait for us next year. And one more thing, if you go from Olenevka to Yevpatoria, you will meet the “Fish Tavern” on the way; be sure to stop by for lunch.

We had never been to Olenyovka before, we learned about it from friends who were there on an excursion. We started looking for hotels, found Marlin, the reviews were contradictory, my wife was worried about the bad reviews, we called, we really liked the conversation with the administrator, he convinced us to go to them.
They met us at the airport, and in 2.5 hours we arrived safely at the hotel.
I will say right away that Olenyovka is an ideal place; my child and I had a very comfortable holiday in Marlin. The hotel in real life is just like in the photo, beautiful, newly built, the rooms are clean, the staff is very polite.
The steep cliffs, the snow-white beach and the endless steppe made an incredible impression on our whole family...
We went to take a break from the city and the bustle and we succeeded. The holiday exceeded our expectations:)
With respect and great greetings,
Alexander, Irina, Natasha and Alena!

I was worried about the bad reviews before booking, but decided to go to Marlin anyway and were not disappointed!
We stayed in the VIP apartment from May 15 to 27, the room was large and spacious, the furniture was all new, the room was clean and free of dust. The area is green, beautifully landscaped and well-groomed. The road to the sea is flat, about 15 minutes on foot with children. This was our first time in Olenevka - this is an ideal place to relax with children, the beach is white sand, the sea is clean. Children played on the playground and jumped on the trampoline. Food is cheap, but the food is delicious. We will definitely come again!
I rate it very well, because it’s a 15-minute walk to the sea, although it didn’t cause any difficulties; if it were closer, I’d rate it excellent! The territory itself is so green and well-planned that while I was there, I had the feeling throughout my entire vacation that we We are vacationing somewhere abroad, at least in Turkey)
I have especially warm memories of our dinners with the whole family in one of the gazebos, of which there are a lot on the territory of Marlin. A warm breeze, a gazebo surrounded by greenery, freshly grilled kebab on the grill... mmm
You really have to walk to the sea, but it’s worth it: firstly, the clearest water and a snow-white beach, and secondly, physical activity, which is so necessary after an evening dinner and a glass of wine!))
I recommend it to everyone, if you are going to Crimea or have already been here, but in the other direction - be sure to go to Olenevnka! This is a wonderful, quiet and magical place to relax from the bustle of Moscow!
Well, where to relax there? Of course, in Marlin!
I wish everyone a great summer holiday and unforgettable experiences!
P.s. Don't judge too harshly - this is my first review!)

The village of Olenevka is considered the westernmost settlement of the Crimean peninsula. The beaches of Olenevka are famous for the unusual purity of the water. The season here is not very long - in September it is already quite cool, but in the summer swimming can be a real pleasure.

At the foot of the Tarkhankut lighthouse

Not far from Olenevka, on Cape Tarkhankut, there is a famous landmark -. Swimming is not allowed at its very foot - this is a protected zone. But at a distance from the building, the shore has long been favored by swimmers.

There is no real beach here, only small comfortable areas among the stones. Families with children and those who like to lie in the sun for many hours should not come here. The region is loved by divers and underwater photographers, the water is simply incredibly clean, and the stone under the surface of the sea looks picturesque and provides shelter for small animals.

As a rule, participants of competitions and championships in underwater photography come. Vacationers should know that there is no water or shade in the area of the lighthouse; as a result, they need to make sure that they have everything they need with them.

White Beach, or Crimean Maldives

The shore is rocky, but the descent is smooth and comfortable; there are plenty of areas to sit on an air mattress or towel. You can drive up to it by car along a dirt road; there is a simple parking lot near the descent.

Crimea has prepared the wild beaches of Olenevka for holidaymakers who can swim. There is considerable depth on Lenivoy, and it increases quickly. It is better suited for adults and youth than for. But there are a lot of vacationers here - everyone wants to be lazy on vacation.

Crimean Florida, or Miami Beach

Locals call the main beach Olenevka, but reviews say that this is a real tropical paradise in Crimea. The embankment of the village overlooks it; the best and.

It is suitable for anyone - it is cultured, there are umbrellas, changing rooms, water activities, they sell soft drinks, fruits, draft wine and smoked fish. Miami Beach is spacious - almost 3 km long and just under 100 m wide, covered with fine sand. The entry into the sea here is gentle, ideal for families with children.

While children build sand castles, parents can play beach volleyball or try their hand at kiting - riding the waves on a board with a parachute. Due to the significant size of the coast and the relatively small village of Olenevka in Miami, there is no crowd typical for the popular central beach areas of Crimea.
