Airbus a321: cabin layout and best seats (S7) Airlines. Airbus A320 cabin layout: best seats S7 163 Boeing 737 800 location

If not the most popular, then one of the most popular passenger airliners today is the Airbus A320. These cars are used by S7 Airlines to transport passengers around the world. This company's fleet includes 19 Airbus A320 aircraft. Most of them are new. The oldest Airbus 320 s7 Airlines was purchased from another airline company, Vueling, and began flying in 2005.

A 320 passengers fly for no more than 6 years. The airline's newest aircraft of this model is only 4 years old. It was put into operation directly from the Airbus factory.

The aircraft accommodates 158 passenger seats in its cabin. The airliner Airbus A320 cabin diagram s7 Airlines uses two classes of passenger seats - economy and business. The interior layout of this aircraft is no different from the A319 model. Business class includes 8 seats, and economy class includes the remaining 150. The cruising speed of the Airbus 320 S7 aircraft is 850 km/h, and the maximum flight range without refueling is 4.3 thousand km.

Airbus a320 cabin layout, the best seats on s7 Airlines are shown in the photo below.

Airbus A320 cabin diagram

  • You can ask an airline employee to recommend a good seat;
  • You should definitely consider the interior layout of the aircraft you will be flying on;
  • You should not buy a ticket for seats whose seats do not recline or have any restrictions;
  • It is better not to buy tickets for seats located near the kitchen, toilet or other technical components of the aircraft.

The seating arrangement on the Airbus A320 aircraft has common pros and cons.

Firstly, window seats have the advantage of viewing outboard views throughout the flight, with the exception of night flights. Also, no one will disturb the neighbors by getting up to go to the toilet. But it’s more difficult to get out of such a place, because you’ll have to disturb the neighbors on the right. Seats near the window are worth ordering for those who do not plan to get up often during the flight and like to look out the window.

Secondly, aisle seats have the exact opposite qualities. It is very easy to get up from them in flight. But the neighbor on the left, who needs to go out into the passage, can disturb him. So aisle seats are good for those who will often go to the toilet or kitchen, or fly with children.

Now it’s the turn to move directly to the specifics of the arrangement of seats in the cabin of the Airbus A320 aircraft of S7 airlines.

Business class seats

The seats in the business class sector of the aircraft are arranged in a 2×2 pattern and occupy the first two rows of seats, separated by a partition. It is not possible to single out any cons in this department, since the width of the seats, their placement, as well as the services offered are designed for passenger comfort. The only downside may be that some may not like sitting in the front row in front of the wall.

Economy class

This section of the aircraft cabin contains more than 100 passenger seats from rows 3 to 27. The seats here are arranged in a 3x3 pattern.

Airbus A320 interior

The best flight in economy class is considered to be in the 3rd row. There are no seats for passengers in front, and the business class partition is located at a sufficient distance. Therefore, there is enough legroom, and no one will be inconvenienced by reclining the seat in front and exposing their head. And hand luggage can be placed on shelves located above the seats or given to the flight attendant, who will put it in a special compartment. Because of these benefits, airlines usually charge more for booking row 3 seats than for other seats.

Rows 4-7 are standard in seat sizes and distances between them. But they have an advantage compared to seats located in the central and rear parts of the cabin. For example, food begins to be delivered from the bow of the plane and passengers in the first rows receive the maximum selection of menus and hot dishes.

In addition, there is no queue for the toilet here, because the bathrooms are located at the rear of the plane. Moreover, most of the seats are located in the rear of the cabin and at the end of the center. The only drawback of the 7th row is that the view from the window will be partially obscured by the wing and there will be more noise from the engine.

The eighth row is located between 7th and 9th, both in terms of serial number and amenities. The view through the windows also partially obscures the wing and the engine, located in the wing on both sides of the aircraft body, also makes more noise.

Seats in the 9th row have a significant drawback. This is due to the fact that behind them there is an emergency exit and therefore the seats are partially or completely deprived of the ability to recline. Therefore, during the flight, passengers will have to sit with a vertical backrest, which is very uncomfortable, especially if the flight is long.

Passengers in the 10th row will also not be able to recline their seats, but, unlike their neighbors in front, they will have the opportunity to freely stretch their legs, since due to the emergency exit the distance to the 9th row is much greater. This will also allow you not to disturb the neighbors on the right in order to get up and go out into the passage. But due to the emergency exit, it will not be possible to put a bag or suitcase in the aisle, since this is prohibited. By the way, when purchasing tickets for the 10th row, you will not have to pay for increased space. For comparison, exactly the same conditions in the 11th row will already have to be paid from above.

Seats in the 11th row can be partly compared to business class, because there is more legroom in front and you can freely recline the seat backs. It is only prohibited to place bags and suitcases in the aisle due to the emergency exit, as well as in row 10. The outer seats near the escape hatches have a slight drawback in the form of a missing armrest, which makes them less attractive. It is worth noting that it is prohibited to place passengers with children, people with disabilities, animals, or the elderly at the emergency exit.

Seats in rows 12-15 do not have any obvious advantages. On the contrary, everywhere except the 15th row the wing will block the view for those who like to watch through the window. And the engine will also make more noise than the front row passengers.

Seats in rows 16-26 are located at a standard distance from each other and do not offer any special amenities. In addition, those sitting closer to the rear of the plane will have to endure the inconvenience of a queue for the toilet when it forms. Well, if you fly at night, sounds in the kitchen and the knocking of doors to the toilet will disturb your sleep. This will especially bother passengers sitting near the aisle in row 26.

The seats in the 27th row are the most rear, and it is recommended not to buy a ticket for them, since these are the seats with the lowest level of comfort on the Airbus A320 aircraft. The backs of the chairs here do not recline, there are toilets behind the back, and you will often have to watch the queue for them. Also, sounds from the kitchen may disturb passengers. The only relative advantages may be the distribution of food from the tail of the plane and the absence of neighbors on the side. Then you can expect to get food first, and also sit alone on 3 seats. But these cases are unpredictable and the disadvantages outweigh them.

Nutrition

We should also talk about food on board the A320, which is included in the ticket price and is available for any fare. If the flight lasts less than 3 hours, then in economy class only light snacks are offered (sandwiches with cheese and ham), and if the flight is more than 3 hours, then the flight attendants will also offer hot dishes, usually of two types. Serving sizes are usually 100\200 grams. Naturally, business class passengers can count on special dishes and drinks.

For flights lasting more than three hours, each passenger can order a special meal, which is paid separately, no later than one day before the flight, and costs 150 rubles. Special meals are divided into types: vegetarian, gluten-free, lactose-free, children's and Muslim.

Using the above information about the location of seats in the cabin of an airliner, anyone can choose the one that suits them based on their preferences and financial capabilities.

S7 Airlines is one of the three largest Russian airlines, part of the S7 Group holding company and operates flights to more than 80 destinations in 26 countries. It has been part of the international aviation alliance “Oneworld” for 8 years. The company is registered at Tolmachevo Airport in Novosibirsk.

General characteristics of the S7 aircraft fleet

The S7 aircraft fleet is one of the youngest and most modern in Russian civil aviation. As of July 2017, the company had 72 aircraft built abroad. The average age of S7 aircraft is 8 years.

2017 marked the start of operation of the new generation version. This is an Airbus A320neo, the youngest S7 aircraft: it is about a year old.

The company follows innovations and regularly updates its fleet for the comfort and safety of its customers. In the coming years, it will be replenished with 38 liners already on order, which will replace ships close to the end of their careers. The C7 aircraft fleet is undergoing significant modernization.

The characteristics of the company's aircraft and the seat layout can be viewed on the official website https://www.s7.ru/ru/ in the Information → Our Fleet section.

Airbus A319

This model has 19 items aged 11-18 years. There are 144 economy class seats. When purchasing tickets for this airbus, you need to take into account that comfort depends on the selected row.

Pros of 1st row:

  • plenty of legroom;
  • wide selection of drinks and food;
  • easy access to the plane.

The disadvantages of this row are its close location to the toilet, uncomfortable tables and the inability to place hand luggage under the front seat.

Rows 2 to 8 are optimal: The entrance and exit to the plane are close, and the windows offer a good view.

Rows 9-17 located far from the restrooms, but the view from the windows is limited by the proximity of the wings and engines.

Attention! Row 11 implies proximity to an emergency exit. It’s not bad because it has more legroom in front, but you need to keep in mind that it doesn’t sell tickets online or to families with children and/or pets.

The next five rows have good visibility through the windows, but the 24th row is considered the worst on liners of this type. The main disadvantages: the inability to recline the seat backs and the proximity to two restrooms. These places are not recommended for those who plan to relax during the flight: the constant movement of passengers, the noise of doors and obsessive smells will disturb you.

There are 19 such Boeings. They range from 2 to 16 years old. C7 airline aircraft of this type have 168 seats, of which 12 are business class and 154 are economy class.

Advantages of rows 1-3:

  • comfortable chairs;
  • quite a lot of space;
  • the ability to carry large hand luggage;
  • close location to the exit;
  • proximity to only one passenger.

Flaws:

  • decent price;
  • close location to restrooms.

The seats in the next row are characterized by increased comfort: plenty of legroom, no neighbor in front, close to the entrance. Disadvantages of the 4th row: the impossibility of placing hand luggage under the front seat and the proximity of the toilet room.

From 5-11 rows there is a good view from the windows. An inconvenience is the inability to recline the backs of the chairs.

Rows 12 to 14 They have more space in front, but cannot boast of a good view through the windows, and the 13th row is completely devoid of windows. Due to the void between the seats and the aircraft skin, you cannot lean the pillow against the wall while resting.

Another distinctive feature of rows 12-14 is the presence of emergency exits near them.

Seats have 15-21 rows you can have a good rest, as they are far from the toilets, but the view through the illuminati is limited by the wings and engines.

The next 7 rows are for those who like to look at the views outside the plane, but they are not suitable for people who value peace, because passengers will walk past them to the restroom, so due to the noise and extraneous odors, they will not be able to relax. However, when food is served on both sides, you will be one of the first to dine.

Airbus A320

S7 Airlines has 18 such aircraft aged from 3 to 9 years. Each has 150 economy class seats and 8 business class seats.

The first two rows are distinguished by comfortable seats, space, a large selection of food and drinks, the ability to carry more things, close proximity to the entrance and one neighbor in a paired seat. Disadvantages: high price and presence of a toilet room nearby.

The 3rd row seats are considered very comfortable. Their advantages:

  • legroom;
  • lack of a front passenger and reclining seat;
  • quick entry/exit;
  • fast service.
  • inability to put things under the front seat;
  • proximity to the restroom;
  • uncomfortable tables.

Seats of 4-8 rows are considered optimal: They have a good view from the windows, food and drinks are delivered quickly, and the entrance/exit is nearby.

The next three rows are located next to emergency exits, which is both an advantage and a disadvantage.

The seats in the 9th row do not recline, and in the 10th and 11th rows it is impossible to put things under the seats. Also, these seats are not suitable for those traveling with a child or pet, and they cannot be booked online.

On rows 12-17 The view from the windows is limited by the wings or engines, but it is calm here.

Rows 18-26 suitable for lovers of beautiful views from an airplane window, but not for those looking for silence.

27 row is considered the worst for passengers: the seats do not recline, you can feel the proximity of the toilets. One can only hope for quick food service if it is served from both sides of the cabin.

S7 airline has 7 such aircraft, they are from 2 to 14 years old, they have 197 seats, 8 of which are business class.

Pros of the first two rows:

  • space;
  • comfortable chairs;
  • possibility of carrying larger luggage;
  • proximity to the entrance;
  • one satellite nearby.
  • high price;
  • proximity to the restroom.

The 3rd row attracts with increased comfort for the legs, the absence of a passenger in front, close proximity to the entrance and fast service. However, the tables are not very comfortable, things cannot be placed in front, and the toilet is not far away.

Rows 4 to 10 are distinguished by good visibility from the windows (except for row 9), close proximity to the entrance to the cabin, and quick distribution of food and drinks.

Peculiarity: Seats A and F in row 10 have plenty of legroom.

The next 11 rows are relatively calm. The view from the window may be blocked by wings or engines.

Rows 22 and 23 do not have windows, but they offer only three and two seats, respectively, and good legroom.

You can enjoy the views from the window in rows 24-34, but there will be a fair amount of noise due to the proximity to the toilet.

The 35th row is considered the worst: the seat backs do not recline, and passengers' frequent visits to the nearby restroom do not allow them to rest during the flight.

Embraer ERJ-170

S7 Airlines has 7 ERJ-170 aircraft aged 13-14 years with 78 economy class seats. They serve flights to local destinations.

On the front row you can stretch your legs, be one of the first to order food or drinks, and quickly get off the plane. However, you can't put a bag under the front seat, the tables are uncomfortable, and the proximity of the restroom is unavoidable.

Rows 2-6 are considered optimal with a good view from the window, close entrance and exit and fast service.

Seats in rows 7-13 would also be good; they are quite quiet. In this case, the view from the windows may be blocked by wings or engines.

From rows 14-19 there is a beautiful view from the window, but the noise from people using the toilets increases. Row 20 is the worst because of the inability to recline the back and relax in a calm environment.

The S7 company has 2 such aircraft, 17 and 19 years old. They differ in configuration: the first Boeing has 222 economy class seats and 18 business class seats, the second has 240 economy class seats and 12 business class seats.

The first 2 rows give a lot of personal space. They are located close to the entrance to the salon, and this is where drinks and food begin to be served. The disadvantage is the high cost of tickets.

Economy class starts from row 6. The ability to comfortably stretch your legs, the absence of neighbors in front, proximity to the exit, fast service - these are its advantages. Cons: Can't store things under the front seat, uncomfortable tables and proximity to the restroom.

Pros of rows 7-11: view from the windows, easy access to the cabin, fast service.

Rows 12-28 are optimal for lovers of tranquility. A bad review can be upsetting.

The seats in the 29th row are uncomfortable: due to the close location of the emergency exits, it is impossible to fully recline the backs of the seats.

There is more freedom in row 30 and there is no jump seat in front, but you cannot put a bag under the front seat, and the seats in the outer seats do not have armrests.

On rows 31-38, noise from people visiting the toilets will not allow you to rest.

Due to the close proximity to the toilets, the seats in the last two rows are the worst.

The company's newest aircraft appeared in 2017 and immediately attracted attention with its quietness. It has 156 economy class seats and 8 business class seats. It differs from the Airbus A320 only in the presence of 28 rows.

The color of the airliners is the calling card of S7 Airlines

Which company has green planes? At C7. Not everyone liked the bright light green shade of the liners from 2006, however, the company stood out by demonstrating a successful rebranding.

10 years later, S7 Airlines carried out a restyling. Human figures disappeared from the fuselages, the red circle was removed from the body, the lettering of the S7 company name was enlarged, and the tail section was repainted from light green to light green. There are not many such options yet: these are the new Airbus A320neo and Embraer 170 models.

Not everyone knows that the C7 aircraft also comes in a shade of turquoise. This happened thanks to the creation by the owners of a new legal entity - Charlie Airlines.

Many people use the services of S7 Airlines, which has long won the respect and love of Russians and foreigners. Knowing about the peculiarities of choosing seats on C7 aircraft, you can make your trip ideal and as comfortable as possible. The vessels are reliable, comfortable and have a bright hull design.

The S7 Airlines fleet includes 19 Airbus A320-200 aircraft. Most of the planes are actually new. The oldest airliner made its first flight in 2005 (purchased from Vueling airline). The age of the rest hardly exceeds 5–6 years. The youngest Airbus A320 was purchased in June 2014, directly from the manufacturer.

The capacity of the liner is 158 seats. The layout is two-class. Business class has 8 seats, economy class has 150 seats. Aeroflot also has a similar configuration (they also have a version with 140 seats).

A diagram of the aircraft cabin is posted on the official website of S7 Airlines. We will analyze it in our review.

Row 1-2. Airbus business class. These are the most comfortable seats in the cabin. Compared to economy class, the distance between the rows has been increased and wider and more comfortable seats have been installed. There is a separate toilet and wardrobe. Disadvantages of the first row - located close to the partition (there is still plenty of legroom). And the disadvantages of the second row are that they are close to the noisy economy class.
Row 3. The first row of the economy class of this aircraft. In the s7, such seats are called “Extra Space” or seats of increased comfort. Here the distance for the legs is increased and no one will recline the back of the chair, since there is only a partition in front. While these are some of the best seats on board, they also have their downsides. Firstly, booking in this row is only possible for an additional fee (the amount depends on the flight distance). Secondly, due to the convenience, passengers with small children like to board here, which can affect the quietness of the flight. Be that as it may, these are the best seats in economy class.
Row 9. Not the most convenient places to fly. There is an emergency exit behind the row, so the seat backs do not recline (or are limited in reclining). You will have to sit in one seat position for the entire flight.
Row 10. Quite contradictory places. On the one hand, there is additional legroom, since the 9th row is slightly further away than the regular rows. But, behind there is also a second emergency exit, therefore, as in row 9, the seat backs do not recline.
Row 11. Good places to fly. The distance has been increased to row 10 - there is room to stretch your legs. The seat of the neighbor in front will also not interfere with the flight (in the 10th row the seats do not recline). However, there are a few small disadvantages. Thus, the outer seats may not have armrests on the side of the aircraft wall. There are also problems with storing hand luggage. You cannot place it on the floor in front of the chair, as this is prohibited for safety reasons.
Row 26. The extreme seats to the aisle are located in one of the most accessible areas of the cabin, literally a few meters from the toilets and kitchen. It’s not very comfortable to sit here, as passengers walk here the entire flight, bumping elbows, and crowding in line.
Row 27. Perhaps the worst places. They are so close to the toilets that you can hear the flushing of the tank and even smell unpleasant odors. All the disadvantages inherent in the 26th row are also present in this row. In addition, due to the partition separating the salon and toilet, the seats may be limited in reclining. It can also be somewhat cooler (and even cold) at the back of the plane. So, if fate puts you in this row, don’t forget to take a blanket or warm clothes with you.

The average age of S7 Airlines aircraft is eight years.

S7 Airlines also flies a lot to the CIS countries. This airline often serves as a lifesaver on less popular routes. For example, S7 Airlines is one of the few airlines that regularly fly to the capital of Moldova. Therefore, if you want to go to Chisinau on an excursion to wine cellars or wander around the Old Town, you will still have to look for a better air carrier than S7. S7 Airlines flies a lot throughout Russia. The company's domestic routes are very diverse and well-structured, so you can choose the optimal connecting time.

Aircraft fleet

S7 Airlines boasts one of the youngest and most modern civil aviation fleets in Russia. The average age of the aircraft is eight years. The S7 Airlines fleet consists of 20 Airbus A319, 15 Airbus A320, Airbus A310, Boeing 737-800, Boeing 737 MAX and Boeing 767-300.

The airbus a321 aircraft is a modified model of the world-famous A 320 aircraft. But, unlike its “big brother,” this model has more powerful engines, more advanced brakes and greater length (increased to 44.5 meters, that is, longer And 320 by 7 meters and can “take” 24% more passengers on board). It is also interesting that this aircraft was assembled not in France (Toulouse), which is familiar to the A320, but in Germany (Hamburg).

Note! The A321 aircraft is a narrow-body aircraft. It serves on medium-haul airlines.

Who is the manufacturer

The aircraft are produced by the Airbus Industry consortium (Airbus S.A.S) and its member companies, such as DASA, which developed the A321-200 model. Airbus is one of the world's largest passenger airliner companies.

Model and modification start date

There are two modifications of this aircraft: A321-100 and A321-200. The A321-100, in turn, also has two options: with V2500 engines (A321-130) and CFM56 engines (A321-110). The program to develop aircraft of this model was started back in 1989. Test flights of two models were made in 1993, all necessary documentation was completed in 1994, and deliveries to airlines began at the end of 1994 early 1995. For the first time, aircraft of this type were put on flights by the German company Lufthansa and the Italian Alitalia.

The A321-100 aircraft failed to become worthy competitors to the Boeing 757. That is why the possibility of releasing a new modification with an increased take-off weight and a longer flight range was considered. The creation of the A321-200 was first discussed back in 1994. The Airbus A321-200 was supposed to serve long European routes and routes directly connecting the US coasts.

The idea of a more advanced modification, with additional fuel tanks of 2900 liters, appealed to the airlines, and work on the aircraft began. He made his first flight in 1996.

Work is currently underway on the A321 NEO. They are equipped with new economical engines, which are now being promoted by Airbus. Fuel savings on such an aircraft will be around 16 percent (and when installing such an engine on an old aircraft of the same series 15-14%). Also, this aircraft is designed for a longer range (the indicator has been increased by 950 km) and for a greater payload (the difference with old models is 2 tons), engineers have improved the climb speed indicators, and increased the cruising speed. In addition, all A321 NEO aircraft will be equipped with the proprietary Sharklets wing. These are wingtips of the “winglet” type (curved towards the top). This wing was developed by Airbus.

Engineers say that it is capable of:

  • improve the overall aerodynamics of the aircraft;
  • reduce inductive drag (due to the disappearance of the vortex breaking off from the swept wing);
  • reduce fuel consumption over long distances by 3.5%;
  • increase payload and flight range.

It is clear that aircraft with such characteristics will become commercially promising and many world airlines will want to purchase them.

Capacity, flight range, speed, altitude

All A321 series aircraft are equipped with EFIS avionics. They allow you to monitor all indicators during the flight and track possible failures of on-board systems.

A variety of composite materials were used in the construction of aircraft (especially in the creation of wings, vertical and horizontal stabilizers).

If we talk about technical characteristics, then they are as follows (using the example of the A321-200).

Airplane seating diagram

The standard Airbus A321 is an aircraft divided into two classes with a total of 185 seats. 157 seats are in economy class in a 3-3 layout, and 28 seats are in business class in a 2-2 layout. The cabin width is 3.7 meters, the seats are soft and comfortable. The undoubted advantage is that the interior is equipped with good sound insulation.

On some aircraft (for example, those operating on charter lines), the standard equipment has been changed. There is no division into classes in such aircraft. The total number of places is 220.

There are also such configurations as:

  • 28 business class seats + 142 economy class seats;
  • 16 business class seats + 167 economy class seats.

Note! The plane has 6 doors and 8 emergency exits. Their location is provided on both sides of the aircraft.

Description of seats by block of rows

Let's consider the standard two-class (28-157) configuration of the A 321 aircraft with a row-by-row layout of the cabin and determine the pros and cons of all seats on the plane.

Comparative characteristics of seats on the plane

RowsBest/worst places
1-7 rowBusiness class seats are located here. But this does not mean that they are all comfortable and convenient. The best seats on the plane are located in rows 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 of business class. The worst seats in this class are in rows 1 and 7. This arrangement is due to the fact that the seats in the first row are very close to the partition separating the cabin from the toilet and the seat of the stewards of the plane, and the seats in the seventh row are as close as possible to the noisy economy class
8th row (6 seats)These are considered to be the best seats in economy class. The fact is that there is a small space here created due to the presence of an emergency exit in this part of the plane. You can get up without disturbing your neighbors and stretch your legs. These seats are also convenient because the stewards move with food and drinks from the first rows to the last. So passengers occupying these seats will have a fairly large choice
9-17 rowThe seats are standard, not bad, not good, the distance between the seats does not allow tall and large passengers to sit comfortably
18th row (6 seats)The seats are bad, located close to the economy class toilets. There's always a crowd of people here, it's very noisy
19th row (4 seats)Controversial places. On the one hand, there is enough space here, you can stretch your legs and walk without disturbing your neighbors. On the other hand, the seats are located close to the toilets, so there is constant crowding and noise
Row 20 (6 seats)The best seats in this class are located on both sides of the windows (A and F). The fact is that due to the lack of seats in front, free space is created, you can sit comfortably. These are probably the best seats in the second part of economy class
21-29 rowStandard places, not bad, but not very good either
30 rowVery uncomfortable places near the aisle, on both sides. It is close enough to the toilets located in the rear section, so noise and a constant queue of people are guaranteed
31 rows (6 seats)The worst seats are in economy class. Firstly, it is close to the toilets. Secondly, since there is a partition nearby, the backs of the seats do not recline, which creates additional discomfort

Thus, when choosing seats, you need to be guided by two factors: their proximity to toilets, kitchens, technical rooms and the presence of a partition nearby (the chairs will not recline). Large people are best seated on row 8 or 20; these are also the most comfortable seats for those traveling with children (row 19 is also suitable in this case, since the proximity of the toilets will be a plus, not a minus; you won’t have to walk with your child across the entire salon).

Note! Window seats and aisle seats have their advantages and disadvantages. It’s easier to go to the toilet from a seat near the aisle, and at the same time no one will disturb the person sitting at the window. The choice is up to the passenger: if you hope to sleep or work, choose a seat by the window; if you think that you will often go to the toilet, take a seat by the aisle.
