How to choose a resort and hotel on the Polish Baltic

Resorts on the eastern coast of Poland provide the opportunity to combine relaxation with a rich excursion program and can be combined with a trip to the Masurian region. It is especially recommended for tourists with their own or rented car. You can get here quite comfortably and quickly. The most pretentious resort in Poland - Sopot, is here.

The resorts of Poland's central coast, and the main Polish resort, Kolobrzeg, offer a variety of health, spa and therapeutic holidays without the fuss. Rest will be limited to the sea, hotel and resort infrastructure. There are no significant historical or excursion sites in the accessible surroundings.

The resorts on the western coast of Poland, especially Swinoujscie (also Swinoujscie), are distinguished by German quality and style. There are no huge hotels here, but there are a large number of picturesque villas, a seaside boulevard and a pedestrian and bicycle path to the neighboring German resort of Ahlbeck. A holiday on the west coast is successfully combined with a transit visit to the border areas of Germany, Berlin and makes it possible to combine it with a ferry cruise to the island of Borholm and to Sweden (Ystad, Copenhagen).

We will be happy to offer the best tour options, taking into account the conditions of your specific request.

Miedzyzdroje

Now let's look at the Baltic resorts of Poland near the German border. The main cities here are Szczecin and Swinoujscie. Twelve kilometers from the latter, on the island of Wolin, the Miedzyzdroje resort is located. This town is very ancient. It was founded in 1186. And in the first half of the nineteenth century Miedzyzdroje turned into a resort. It has the mildest microclimate in the Baltic, mineral springs, clean sandy beaches, beautiful nature and a developed recreation infrastructure. However, it should be remembered that entertainment in Miedzyzdroje is designed for a special contingent of tourists. After all, the resort is famous primarily as a health resort. Active tourists can make an outing to the Wolin Nature Park or visit the Ducal Castle in Szczecin.

Swinoujscie

This port city is located right on the border with Germany. It is separated from Szczecin Airport by seventy-five kilometers. Like many other resorts in Poland, which were German for a long time, Swinoujscie has a developed health resort infrastructure. Here they treat skin and gynecological diseases, metabolic disorders, problems with the respiratory system and the cardiovascular system with mud, boric, bromine and iodine mineral waters. The pride of Swinoujscie is the ancient fort (a copy of the Roman Castle Sant'Angelo) and the spa park established at the beginning of the nineteenth century. And the city beach stretches for ten kilometers. The width of the sand strip reaches one hundred meters.

Jastarnia

Baltic resorts in Poland are described by reviews as having affordable prices. But among them there are also absolutely exclusive ones. One of them is Yastarnya. It is located on the Khel peninsula. Back in the seventeenth century there were several islands. But over time, the sea and wind connected them into a spit, and the fishing villages turned into one resort. During this era, the closed dachas of party bosses were located on this peninsula. And even now Jastarnia is not like other resorts in Poland. There is a completely different, leisurely atmosphere here. The contingent vacationing in Jastarna are yachtsmen, avid fishermen, and windsurfers. Due to the prevailing southern winds, a unique microclimate has developed in Puck Bay.

Poland is a country with rich recreational potential. There are cities here that deserve the attention of curious tourists, beautiful beaches on the Baltic coast and even ski resorts. It is not surprising that with such diversity, the tourist season here lasts all year round, and the number of guests monthly exceeds tens and even hundreds of thousands.

Polish Baltic

Poland owns more than 500 kilometers of the Baltic Sea coast. Almost the entire strip consists of beautiful sandy beaches, surrounded by greenery of coniferous forests. In addition to traditional hotels and inns of various levels, there is a huge number of sanatoriums specializing in the treatment of a wide variety of diseases. It is because of them that many consider Poland, along with the Czech Republic, to be a European health resort.

The only drawback of a holiday on the Polish Baltic is that the swimming season is not very long. It usually begins at the end of June and ends at the beginning of September. Moreover, even in the summer months, the air temperature can be unstable and at night drop to 15 degrees, and the water rarely warms up above plus 21. It is because of this feature that beach holidays in Poland are often called “not for everyone.” However, there are traditionally many “amateurs”.

There are a large number of resorts along the Baltic coast - from large cities to small villages. All of them are popular among various groups of tourists.

Gdansk

Gdansk can rightfully be called the Baltic capital of Poland. There is a special atmosphere here, which is typical of European seaside towns. Winding streets, modest churches and churches, interesting museums. And of course, the embankment, which in the summer months becomes an open area for concerts, festivals and even theatrical performances every evening. Gdańsk is an ideal place for those who do not want to fall out of the usual urban bustle during their holiday at sea, and who do not want to combine sunbathing and swimming with educational excursions. The city is great for walking - all the most interesting things are concentrated in the center, on the streets of Dlugi Targ and Dluga. Tourists vacation here in a variety of ways. It is not surprising that a wide range of hotels is offered to guests - from economy to elite class. Everyone can easily find a place they like.

Gdansk is famous not only for its architecture, but also for its beaches with a well-developed entertainment infrastructure. Here you can go windsurfing, fly over the coast with a parachute, ride tubing, banana boats or jet skis. When the sun sets, some beaches turn into an open-air dance floor.

Sopot

Sopot rightfully bears the status of a fashionable resort. Elite hotels, interesting architecture, well-equipped beaches. In the summer, international chamber music, opera and film festivals are held on the streets of the city. The main street, Montiak, is known throughout Poland for its expensive restaurants, bars and nightclubs. In addition, spontaneous concerts by local performers take place every evening. Lovers of relaxation in Sopot can enjoy not only sunbathing on the beaches, but also treatments in spa salons. In principle, everyone will enjoy a holiday in this city. But you will have to pay more for it than at any other resort.

Kolobrzek

Despite the fact that Kolobrzek has the status of a city, it is much calmer here than in other resorts in Poland. Perhaps this is why the main audience is families with children. For young guests, the conditions here are simply ideal: the beach strip is quite wide, and the entry into the sea is sandy and gentle. There is also plenty of entertainment. You can visit a 6-D cinema, an aquarium or a Wild West entertainment town. Adults will certainly be interested in excursions to medieval castles.

Swinoujscie

It can rightfully be considered the “most German” city of the Polish Baltic; it is only a few kilometers from the border. It is not surprising that local travel companies offer excursions not only within their own country, but also to Germany.

However, the opportunity to see two countries at once is not the main advantage of a holiday in Swinoujscie. The city is often called the Polish Venice - it is located on 44 islands. Forty-two of them have been given the status of national parks. It is not surprising that guests can enjoy beautiful natural scenery, cycling, and embankments. And, of course, medieval forts and interesting urban architecture.

Ski resorts in Poland

In addition to beach resorts, Poland also boasts ski resorts. An excellent opportunity for those who want to relax in Europe, but not overpay for the “trademarks” of Switzerland, France or other countries. There are plenty of options for winter sports enthusiasts.

The most popular Polish ski resort, the winter capital of the country. There are 6 ski areas, 60 ski lifts, and many trails of various levels - from professional to amateur and children's. Zakopane will be interesting for everyone - both those who have been familiar with alpine skiing for many years, and those who decided to try it for the first time. For beginners and young guests there is a school where experienced instructors are happy to introduce you to the intricacies of this sport.

After a day spent on the slopes, you can relax in one of the many cafes or visit a folk art fair. In addition, Zakopane has a good water park with a thermal pool.

Krynica

Krynica is often called the Polish Karlovy Vary. Here, in addition to the ski slopes, guests can enjoy mineral water and the beauty of coniferous forests. During the winter months, the country's sports elite gathers in Krynica; hockey and luge championships are held in the city. Ski slopes are more likely to attract amateurs than professionals.

Karpacz

Another resort where beginners gather. An ideal place for a family holiday with children. Instructors from local schools will be happy to introduce skiers to those who were not familiar with them before.

Thus, the length of the coastline of this European state is more than five hundred kilometers. It abounds with clean beaches, rivers and lakes, and picturesque hills. In addition, there is all the infrastructure necessary for a great pastime. Thus, a seaside holiday in Poland will be an excellent vacation option. We will talk further about what resorts and entertainment can be found here.

Poland (Baltic Sea) - vacation: list of resorts

The coastal part of this country is replete with many small towns offering tourists an unforgettable holiday. The hotel base at local resorts is represented by both completely new modern complexes and reconstructed hotels built several decades ago. In this regard, you will be able to choose housing for yourself in accordance with your preferences and financial capabilities. Poland's seaside resorts offer tourists not only but also a varied entertainment and excursion program. Indeed, in addition to developed infrastructure, there is a number of historical and cultural attractions.

So, if you are planning a seaside holiday in Poland, then keep in mind that the most popular resorts in this country are the following: Krynica Morska, Leba, Kolobrzeg, Swinoujscie, Miedzyzdroje, Sopot and others. We invite you to learn more about the main ones.

Krynica Morska

The main wealth of this Polish is nature. It boasts magnificent sandy beaches, picturesque forests with rich flora and fauna. In addition, the town of Krynica Morska has all the conditions for an excellent holiday for fans of windsurfing and fishing. In addition, there are several sources of mineral medicinal waters on the resort territory. Despite the fact that Krynica Morska is one of the most popular resorts in Poland, it is never too crowded. The local population is only one and a half thousand people.

Entertainment offered to tourists in the resort of Krynica Morska

A holiday in this place will not disappoint both beach lovers and fans of antiquity. Thus, the beach infrastructure at this resort is very well developed. However, if you are planning a seaside holiday in Poland, then keep in mind that the climate here is characterized by fairly warm and mild winters and cool summers. However, the weather conditions are quite comfortable for a beach holiday. In addition, the ecological situation in this place, due to the cleanest air and water, as well as pine and beech forests, is unlikely to leave anyone indifferent. Another interesting fact about the nature of the Krynica Morska resort is the presence of unique animals and plants here, which are almost impossible to find in other parts of our planet. For example, here you can often see a whole family of wild boars on the beach, which are not at all afraid of humans. However, it is still not recommended to get close to them: it is best to take a few photos from afar.

Leba

If you are going to the sea in Poland, then be sure to consider one of the most popular local resort towns called Leba as an option. It is located in the central part of the coast at the mouth of the river of the same name. This resort is ideal for lovers of active recreation, as it has all the conditions for cycling, horse riding and windsurfing. In addition, Łeba is the starting point for exploring the Słowinski National Park.

Local beaches

The coastal part of Leba is divided into three zones: beaches A, B and C. All of them are wide, sandy and very clean. Beach A is a protected area and is considered the most popular in the city. There is a developed infrastructure here: cafes, bars, restaurants, shops, rental of jet skis, boats, etc. Beach C is a continuation of beach A. However, its territory is not guarded, and there is not much entertainment here. In this regard, there are fewer vacationers in this place, which will definitely be appreciated by people who prefer a quiet and quiet pastime. As for beach B, it is located a little further from the center of Leba. Its territory is protected. Here you can find a range of entertainment, including children's and volleyball courts, a trampoline and more.

Entertainment and attractions in Leba

In addition to excellent beaches, this place also boasts a number of natural and architectural attractions. Among them, it is worth highlighting the Church of St. Nicholas, considered here the patron saint of sailors and fishermen. It is famous for the icon of the Mother of God kept there, the author of which is the German Max Pechstein. Walking around the town, you can see a historical building, built at the beginning of the last century, shaped like a medieval castle. It is located on Nadmorskaya Street, and today it houses the Neptune Hotel. There is also a nature reserve near the town, famous for its dunes and beaches.

Resort Miedzyzdroje

If you are considering a seaside holiday in Poland, then you will probably be interested in a place with a difficult to pronounce name - Miedzyzdroje. This town is located in the western part of the Polish coast of the Baltic Sea. Numerous tourists are attracted here by both the well-developed resort infrastructure and the beauty of the national natural park, as well as mineral water sources and a healing microclimate. By the way, diseases of the upper respiratory tract and lungs, including asthma, are successfully treated in local sanatoriums.

The main attraction of Miedzyzdroje is the Wolinski National Park, which is one of the few areas of untouched wilderness. Please note that walking here without a guide is highly not recommended, as there is a high probability of encountering wild animals. Other local natural attractions include post-glacial lakes, as well as a nature reserve inhabited by bison.

Swinoujscie

This resort town with a funny name is located on the shores of the Baltic Sea near the Polish-German border. It boasts a large number of modern hotels and holiday homes. However, its real pride is the resort and health park, founded at the beginning of the 19th century. In addition, sanatoriums and hospitals in Świnoujście specialize in the treatment of diseases of the respiratory tract, cardiovascular system and metabolic disorders.

The beaches of Poland in general and the local coast in particular are highly valued by vacationers. After all, they are very wide. There are no large pebbles on them, but exceptionally fine and pleasant sand.

Information about the Baltic coast of Poland

The Polish coast of the Baltic Sea is more than 500 km. sandy sea beaches, hundreds of lakes, clear rivers, vast forests and picturesque hills. It is a land of varied landscapes, rich in cultural monuments of the past, and hospitable all year round. On the seashore in Poland there are places for lovers of swimming, sunbathing and fishing. Polish Baltic resorts are usually small towns without industrial enterprises, with a distinct seaside resort part, a large number of varied accommodation facilities and developed resort infrastructure.

The Baltic coast of Poland is a particularly favorable area for recreation, with a well-developed tourist base. There are comfortable hotels, holiday homes, boarding houses and modern apartment complexes here. In the restaurants you should try fish dishes and Old Polish cuisine.

Water and sun lovers can relax and sunbathe on the numerous sandy beaches of the Polish Baltic. Many of them, due to their climatic conditions and the quality of the services offered, enjoy well-deserved fame among tourists from Germany and Scandinavia, for example, Polish seaside resorts: Swinoujscie , Miedzyzdroje , Kolobrzeg , Ustka , Laba, Krynica Morska etc. In all these places there are sandy beaches, often with a belt of coastal dunes, pine forests located at the foot of the picturesque cliff coast. The width of the beach in some places reaches 100 m. The most famous resort town in Poland in Russia is Sopot, called the “pearl of the Polish Baltic.” The attractions of Sopot include a wooden promenade pier 516 meters long.

A famous sailing center is the youngest Polish port - Gdynia, where the yacht pool is located in the very center of the city. Well-organized ports are in Swinoujscie, Kolobrzeg, Ustka and Łab, which recently acquired a new yacht port.

Unlike southern seaside resorts, where there is often uncomfortably hot weather, climatic conditions in the Baltic Sea region in Poland do not lead to debilitation. The effect of sunlight is not so strong that it does not affect human health. Sea air, saturated with iodine, has valuable healing properties. Therefore, a stay on the Baltic coast in Poland is recommended for everyone who cannot tolerate heat, suffers from respiratory diseases, and especially for young children.

Polish Baltic resorts are year-round and in winter they offer accommodation in hotels with their own water areas and spas.
