I even visited Crimea once, but I will go again this summer. For some reason I wanted to go specifically, although I had the idea of going to Feodosia, but then I changed my mind. I rested for five days and I’ll be honest, it wasn’t enough. I liked the very clean beaches. But the most important thing is that the historical part of the city can interest almost everyone, because modernity and past centuries are closely intertwined in it.
Route by car
Why, driving there is like eating a pie. There is only one road, and the surface on it is excellent, but in addition to land, you will also have to cross the Kerch Bay by ferry, but more on that later. In general, there are 180 kilometers between Kabardinka and Kerch. It will take, say, 3.5 hours to travel, but also plus another hour for the sea crossing. Along the E95 highway you need to get to the seaport of Kavkaz, where, in fact, you can find a ferry.
The transportation policy is very simple, as you have to stand in line, as if you came to the clinic and are waiting for the doctor to call you. The ferry is large, but not large enough to accommodate many cars, and even then, if there is also a bus, you can be sure that you will have to wait for the next flight.
Ferries run every hour (in summer) from 12 midnight to 11 pm.
Try to arrive at the port while it is still light, as the evening crossing is a little scary and, in my opinion, even makes you feel more motion sick. You must have 1,700 rubles with you to transport the car and 150 for a passenger ticket. In an hour you will leave the ferry on the shore, and from there you will already get to Kerch or any other Crimean city.
Route by train
You can forget the trip by rail, because you yourself understand that there is no way to get there by sea, but you won’t even be able to cover part of the route, since electric trains from Kabardinka do not go towards the port.
Route by bus
Personally, I traveled by bus, well, actually, not the whole way, since the sea crossing still doesn’t go anywhere. Your goal should be the Novorossiysk bus station, since it is from here that buses to Kerch depart.
But to get to it, you can take any of these routes:
- - Gulkevichi;
- Gelendzhik - Rostov-on-Don;
Here, it’s generally not important to wait for a specific route, because most buses pass through, and they literally run every 30 minutes from 6 am to 8 pm. You can get there in about 25 minutes, and then you just need to transfer to the next flight.
And now for Crimea. Focus on the buses that go to or Yalta and you definitely won’t go wrong. But I can say that the number of shipments is rare and, what’s worst, it changes very often and you can’t always see the correct schedule on the Internet, since it doesn’t have time to update. But it’s okay, because you can always call the Novorossiysk bus station at 7 (8617) 64−23−18 and ask about the flights that interest you. Roughly speaking, this is no more than 5-6 times a day, so keep that in mind.
But when you get on the bus, in 6 hours you will find yourself at the seaport, where it will board the ferry. There are drivers who buy tickets for all passengers themselves (they are included in the fare), and there are those who force them to go to the ticket office themselves, but this rarely happens. As I said, you need to sail for an hour, then you will disembark at the port of Kerch and the bus will take another 30 minutes to get to the bus station.
Ticket prices
It took me 700 rubles for the trip.
Buying tickets
You can buy a ticket for the ferry separately if you want, but it is best, of course, to take it from the driver for both the bus and sea transport.
