Recently, many of my acquaintances and friends have begun to discover many wonderful places for vacation not abroad, but in Russia. I was no exception and my choice fell on Crimea. Why?
Firstly, proximity to Moscow, a few hours and we are there.
Secondly, prices for flights and accommodation are significantly lower than they would cost abroad.
And thirdly no time difference and pleasant climate.
To my great regret, the “Drop of the Sea” hotel in Peschanoye did not live up to expectations and hopes.
And so about everything in order:
I'll start with our arrival, back in Moscow I ordered a transfer from the hotel and theoretically the driver should have met us at the airport and taken us to the hotel. This service costs 2,000 rubles. travel time is approximately 1 hour. Everything didn’t work out from the very beginning, the driver called me 5 times on the eve of departure, clarifying some small details, sternly told me to warn me about the delay, etc. As a result, he was 30 minutes late. In addition, he did not meet us at the airport, but directed us by phone to look for his car in the parking lot. I consider such a careless attitude towards work as a minus for both the hotel and the driver.
The cost of a 10-day holiday with 3 meals a day was approx.62,000 rub.(excluding airfare). The room was standard. The price also included use of the pool, beach, sun loungers and beach towels.
The hotel is small, three-story, rooms overlooking the sea and the pool. The hotel lobby is quite stylish, which I can’t say about the rooms. The room was very disappointing. The room has 2 beds, air conditioning, refrigerator, wardrobe, safe, a bunch of bedside tables and drawers and a TV. There is also a bathroom with shower and toilet.
What I didn't like about the room:
- TV. It’s extremely small, I understand everything, but it’s 2016
- No kettle. On the ground floor there is something like a thermos kettle with boiling water. That is, if you live on the third floor, you have to walk a couple of floors and long corridors in the evenings or early in the morning in a negligee to make yourself a cup of tea or coffee?
- The shower stall... literally leaks. Communicating with vacationers, I realized that many had this problem. As they say, if you love to bathe, you also love to clean (there was water on the floor of the bathroom)
- The same applies to the shower cabin. Let's look at the photo...
Yes, it's mold and limescale. In general, this is not only unpleasant, it is unthinkable for a hotel where (ATTENTION) they are cleaned every day; - Poor quality cleaning of the room, which can be seen from the condition of the bathroom. This also applies to dust on furniture and dirty floors. The first 2-3 days were relatively clean, but then each time we tried less and less;
- Thin curtains, you don’t need to close them, since the room will always be as bright as day from the internal lighting by the pool. Well, early in the morning.
- The walls are so thin that you can easily hear what is being said behind the wall. And there are also many sounds such as snoring or moaning of a young couple in the middle of the night.
- Lack of drinking water coolers on the floor. The hotel's water issue is problematic. There are two options here: either buy it or pour it boiled in the canteen. And there is a third one, but it is not safe, there is a spring near the hotel and many people pour it there, but there will be nowhere to boil it, so I don’t recommend it.
- All the furniture in the room is quite outdated and shabby, just like the bed linen.
- Wi-fi is free and unlimited, but it is not stable and slow.
- A large crowd of vacationers and a line in front of the dining room door. Why? It's simple: if you're late, you may miss out on a lot of the food.
- There is a large shortage of sour cream. I don’t understand why, they always put it on the bottom in a small bowl, and then everyone stood and waited for more to be brought out, then everything was repeated several times. It is very strange!!!
- No sweets or baked goods at all. In 10 days I saw pancakes IN THE EVENING and twice a small amount of cookies and waffles.
- Old dishes and often with chips around the edges. I don't know why they don't recycle it.
- There is a shortage of teaspoons, there are only about 10-15 pieces!!! Moreover, they are all different sizes, so to speak... Is it really so difficult to buy more of them and the same ones???
Among the advantages, I can note a well-functioning refrigerator and air conditioning
as well as a clothes dryer on the balcony and the balcony itself is large, with a good view.
The pool is cleaned every evening
Territory
The hotel doesn't have much, I would say it doesn't exist. There is nowhere to walk, there is a playroom and playground for children, but they are quite small. There are benches everywhere, little greenery, sparse flower beds with flowers and sparsely planted shrubs.
Beach
The hotel has its own beach with sun loungers and a sun canopy, I read in many reviews that thanks to this the water is clean. No matter how it is... to the right and left there are huge public beaches, packed with people. Whatever one may say, the water is common.
The beach is spacious, there are enough sun loungers for everyone.
There is a toilet, which is clean and comfortable, changing cabins and showers. I didn't like the shower because... the water is cold and the wall, which is tiled, is covered in mold and some kind of mucus. By the way, we washed it on the last day of my stay at the hotel. In front of the entrance to the beach there are security guards who make sure that strangers do not enter the territory. Vacationers have white and identical towels. BUT I repeatedly observed in the afternoon strangers with towels not from the hotel, who with great pleasure ate melons and watermelons, cutting them on sun loungers and drinking strong drinks. Here is a question for both the security and the hotel administration...
Entertainment
There are none... It was the end of the season and I didn’t even see children’s animation. In the café on site you can drink coffee, soft drinks or alcoholic drinks for a fee. In the evening there is music and a children's disco (maximum 10-15 minutes)
NUTRITION
The menu in the dining room is simple but tasty. All the products are fresh and, in my opinion, the chefs are trying their best. These include vegetables, fresh salads, first courses, main dishes and side dishes. Everything seems to be fine, but there are some problems here too:
I really liked the girls who work in the canteen. They are great guys, polite, well-groomed and diligent. Also administrators at the reception. There were three of them during my vacation and they are great professionals in their field.
We rested during the high season at the end of August and beginning of September. Therefore, the weather was very comfortable. I also liked the climate.
But I won’t come to the hotel a second time, there are too many shortcomings and disadvantages for the money.
