Weaving a paracord bracelet: weaving patterns, detailed descriptions and instructions with step-by-step photos for beginner needlewomen

In recent years, a hobby such as weaving a variety of jewelry and accessories with your own hands from scrap materials has become very popular among modern youth. Many of you know at least a little information about the process of making bracelets from multi-colored beads, beads, wire, elastic bands or floss threads. However, not many craftswomen can boast of deep knowledge about such an unusual process as weaving a paracord bracelet.

The “paracord” material itself is not known and common in its origin and scope of application. What is this unusual and original material? Paracord is a fairly strong rope made of nylon material that can support very heavy weight. Very often, this durable rope material is used by fans of extreme sports: mountaineering, rock climbing, or hiking.

In our interesting and informative article, we invite readers to learn about the process of making a paracord bracelet yourself at home.

Areas of application for bracelets made of durable paracord

A bracelet made from an unusual paracord material can be a multifunctional and useful decorative element. Using a bracelet, for example without a clasp, you can solve the following problems in the event of natural disasters:

  • Build a shelter;
  • Dry your things;
  • Use as a tourniquet for bleeding;
  • Make a fishing rod;
  • Form a bow;
  • Make a handle for a knife.

In other words, paracord bracelet is used in military and civilian affairs. The rope from which it is made can reach five meters in length when unwoven. This explains the popularity of such an unusual accessory. In addition, the variety of knots and colors allows you to create your own original bracelet: wide or narrow, two-color, three-color, and so on.

How to weave a paracord bracelet yourself: a master class with a step-by-step description

There are many different patterns for weaving original bracelets. Each of these schemes has both positive and negative sides. All this variety of patterns is united by one property - the survival bracelet opens with one simple movement. The weaving pattern we propose does not require a machine, which allows you to make a bracelet with your own hands even in the field.

To make your own paracord bracelet, you will need the following materials and tools:

  • several meters of paracord (ten centimeters of bracelet will require two meters of material);
  • clasp;
  • lighter;
  • scissors;
  • tweezers.

You should first cauterize the ends of the lace to prevent it from fraying further. Form four loose loops in the fastener slot.

Next, weave from a long piece of paracord. Form a loop and pull it through the previous four. Pull it out to five centimeters, and then tighten it from right to left. Slightly loosen the four loops, and using tweezers, pull three more pieces between each of them, and place the fourth on the side. Turn the loops so that their left parts are in front. Now thread the cord through the four loops as described in the instructions above.

To complete the first row, pull stitches from right to left. Repeat the manipulations we described above for weaving the cobra pattern. Finish your work after reaching the desired bracelet size.

When there is enough length, pull the running lace through the last row. Its end should be on the right. Make spaces between the loops. Form three more loops around the back of the clasp.

Finish the bracelet by pulling the end of the paracord through the loop, and then burn it with a lighter flame or tie it into a knot. The second option is more convenient when untangling a watch cord.

How to quickly and easily unwind a bracelet

If you want to disassemble the bracelet, you need to untie the knot. Then you should remove the loops from the clasp and pull the tip of the lace out of the outer four loops. Pull the end to unravel the bracelet. This will take about twenty seconds of your time.

As a result of such simple manipulations, you will receive an irreplaceable and useful bracelet for survival in extreme conditions. Also, this type of jewelry can be an excellent gift for your family or loved one.
