Finally. The first sensible review of dry rations from a woman. IRP of the Ministry of Defense 2014

On my own behalf I will immediately add that:
1. No IRP Daily, Combat, Increased, Winter, for officers, etc. etc. can not be.
At the Ministry of Defense, 99% of rations are simply IRP, exactly like those in the photo. For all. For soldiers, officers and generals. This IRP comes in seven variants and is distinguished by canned food. The remaining 1% are rare one-time, group, mountain ones. The same story applies to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSB, and the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
So, let's grab some popcorn and...

The other day I received the most authentic army dry ration: someone traded it with a soldier for three packs of cigarettes. The soldier was apparently sent to the training ground in Mulino, and his dry rations were increased IRP-B 7. It’s not that you can’t buy one like this anywhere at all for any money, but this was the first time I’d seen a real, live ration and tore it apart before I remembered that you might also be interested :) That’s why the packaging is already torn, and the photos themselves were taken on an iPhone , Sorry.

A little retelling of the Internet for those who, like me, have not served and do not intend to, but simply love food:

IRP (individual food ration), or dry rations, can be daily (P) and combat (B), and the latter can also be increased (2.1 kg), as in my case. Rations are used when the field kitchen is not working, and in general they allow you to get an excellent hot lunch in half an hour in the pouring rain near a dirty swamp. The menu in the IRP is different, numbered from 1 to 7 (I have the last one). In addition, there are officer rations, Ministry of Internal Affairs rations, and so on.

Previously, my source says, rations were packaged in polyethylene, but now in cardboard boxes. The design is top notch: just the sight of this noble green box inspired me. Well, the ration itself turned out to be excellent. Before that, I thought that there were some pig ears in fat and bay leaves and buckwheat in a monolith. Nothing like this!

This is what this beauty looks like from the outside: 2.1 kg - this is the weight including the box.

One box is designed for one person's daily meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and provides about 4,500 calories. If anyone doesn't know, 4500 - this is very bad. On average, an adult man needs 2500. But this is if you don’t run, crawl and shoot in full uniform.

Initially, everything was in the box, like a good player’s Tetris game. Well, mine is like bad.

As a children's New Year's gift, a list of contents is included. And instructions on what to eat in which meal.

Beef meatballs (really delicious), vegetable caviar, processed cheese, beef with peas and rice porridge — again with beef (excellent!). There is also fish in the rations (for example, there is a description of the rations, which is outdated, however), but there is never pork: Muslims also serve, and in combat conditions there is little time to sort out where is halal and where is haram.

But here’s what to warm this beauty with: water-and-wind-resistant matches (honestly, that’s what they’re called), a Taganka and four tablets of dry alcohol. One tablet lasts about 20 minutes. Ten minutes was enough for me to warm up two boxes of food.

Lard (by the way, here is the pork hiding!), pate, more pate and biscuits made from wallpaper flour. The instructions for the dry ration provided for some difficulties and clarified:"Biscuits are used instead of bread." Like, guys, don't wait.

Pay attention to the composition: for the supermarket, lard consists of two ingredients (actually lard and salt) - this is from the realm of fantasy. And all products sold have a very, very decent composition. This is also not what I expected.

Tea, coffee, cream. The source says that coffee is only available in officer rations, and the Internet adds that it is also available in larger rations. In standard sets only “May” (By the way, absolutely normal tea with an undeservedly bad reputation. I always drink either this or Lipton).

But here is a very important thing: tablets for water disinfection. The set contains three pieces, one is enough for 0.5 - 1 liter. water. After this, you can drink almost any kind of water, except radioactive one. Tiny and apparently made in Ireland?

If someone doesn't want tea, there are three types of jelly. By the way, there are manufacturers of these jelly on LJ, and their jelly, fruit and nut bars and jam can be bought with delivery throughout Russia.

And for dessert: applesauce and dark chocolate from the Pobeda factory.

Wet wipes, just wipes, sugar, salt, pepper, vitamins (the instructions say to take at breakfast). There is one knife and three spoons. And no forks :)

And something you definitely didn’t expect to see in army rations :)

How long ago did the food in the army become so good? Are the kitchens at military units also pleasing, or is stewed sauerkraut still reigning there? Tell us who served recently!
