Medical glue "bf"

"BF" glue is a well-known external antiseptic used in medicine for the disinfection and speedy healing of cuts, burns, cracks, scratches, abrasions and other minor skin injuries. The use of BF for medical purposes began in the middle of the last century. Since then, many have included it in their first aid kits and successfully use it as first aid.

"BF" glue is not only bactericidal, but also an insulating agent that creates a protective film on the surface of the skin that is resistant to chemical and mechanical influences, which facilitates the joining of tissues without seams. "BF" (glue) is used to treat wounds in adults and children over one year of age. A contraindication to the use of the product is hypersensitivity.

In addition, the drug "BF" is used in dentistry to treat the roots of teeth during the surgical treatment of inflammatory processes.

The glue is a yellowish, colorless liquid with a characteristic pungent odor. This is an alcohol solution of synthetic resin, rosin and polyvinyl butyral with the addition of a special substance that gives the drug elasticity.

Application method

The damaged area of skin is carefully cleaned of dirt, the bleeding is stopped using a gauze pad and dried. Then, with an even thin layer, but sufficient to form a film, the abrasion site is covered, covering the unaffected areas. No additional dressing is required. Once dry, the glue forms a protective elastic film, onto which you can always apply another layer. BF glue stays on the surface of the skin for three to four days. After the wound has healed, its remnants are very easily removed.

Advantages and Disadvantages

BF glue has long been recognized as an effective and affordable means for processing and it is inexpensive, easy to apply, dries quickly, and holds well. Promotes rapid healing of wounds without the use of bandages or plaster. formed on the surface of the skin, perfectly protects the damaged area from dirt and water.

What disadvantages does BF-6 glue have? The use of glue is accompanied by a rather pungent odor and a strong burning sensation. The latter can become a problem when treating wounds in a child. In addition, the product can cause allergies. There are many cases where, after applying glue, the skin began to swell and itching appeared. Some are inclined to consider the unaesthetic appearance of the treated abrasion to be one of the disadvantages of glue, but this disadvantage is quite dubious, especially since a bandaged finger, for example, looks much more unattractive, and we are only talking about three to four days.

Storage conditions

BF glue should be kept out of the reach of children and protected from sunlight. Storage temperature is not higher than +25 °C. There should be no heating devices or open fire nearby. The glue is good for 4 years from the date of production. The release date is always indicated on the packaging. After the expiration date, the glue cannot be used and must be disposed of.
