My article today will be a little unusual and is dedicated in particular to holidays on the White Sea. Many of our compatriots can boast that they vacationed in the Black, Azov, Caspian and even Mediterranean seas, but few managed to visit the White Sea specifically. Although in our time there are lovers of the harsh northern beauties, it’s true that there are not so many of them.
Today I would like to talk in more detail about holidays on the White Sea.
Holidays on the White Sea.
There are many places to relax on the White Sea, but one of the main ones can safely be called the Republic of Karelia. Nature in this wonderful place special, northern. This is expressed in the local forests, huge boulders, dwarf vegetation and, of course, in climatic features of this place.
It is best to relax on the White Sea, of course, in the summer, when the weather here is the mildest and most comfortable for relaxation. But even in the summer, many people notice some disadvantages here. For example, in the local forests it happens that mosquitoes are very annoying. When walking along the White Sea on a boat, even in summer, you should dress well, as the wind can sometimes be quite fresh, because we should not forget that this sea is still northern, despite the summer period.
Well, in general, people’s impressions of holidays here remain only positive. Maybe this sea is not exactly conducive to swimming, but the nature on its coast is especially beautiful. And for those who like fishing, here you can indulge your passion to your heart’s content. True, before you go fishing here, you should thoroughly find out the places where you can fish, as well as some nuances about the fish itself, since some of its species are prohibited for fishing here.
Oddly enough, even despite the rather low water temperature in the summer (plus or minus twenty degrees), diving is available on the White Sea for its lovers, as well as for those people who are not afraid of such water temperatures.
For those who do not want to scuba dive, there is the opportunity to simply ride a boat, which can be rented here.
There is a lot on the White Sea interesting places, which should definitely be visited by every person who travels to these regions, or is just planning his trip. In the republic of Karelia there are many attractions, including picturesque parks, wonderful waterfalls and much, much more.
The Solovetsky Islands can rightfully be called the pearl of the White Sea, which, I think, every adult has heard of at least once, and many are so familiar with their history, especially in the godless Soviet times. Currently, many pilgrims from both our country and neighboring countries are rushing to visit this holy place.
If you are going to the White Sea more than just one day, but for example with family or friends, with the goal of relaxing here for more than one day, then for tourists in its various places, there are guest houses, boarding houses and hotels. There is definitely no shortage of this here. But still, if you are coming here for the first time, you need to inquire about all this in advance so as not to be confused about where you can stay.
Concerning winter period, then this is not the most favorable time to relax here. Near the shore, the sea freezes, forming ice blocks. Getting to the islands, for example the Solovetsky Archipelago, in winter is often prevented by storms and bad weather in general. In winter, icy, piercing winds constantly blow from the sea. In a word, the best period for a holiday on the White Sea is still summer.

The wonderful air of the island, saturated with the smell of seaweed, the aroma of flowers and herbs, can charge you with excellent health for a long time. Especially in the White Sea there are many algae such as seaweed. They contain a lot of iodine, which is why the air on the coast is special. Wide sandy beaches also attract tourists. The White Sea is rightfully considered the most mysterious and picturesque. Despite the fact that it is much colder there than in Turkey or Egypt, you will remember this holiday for a very long time. The sea and coastal landscapes of the White Sea evoke only admiration. And the summer white nights may not have been called white in vain. After all, they have so many colors and different shades. Painted with pink, golden, and light green stripes, the light blue sky has a fantastic, unearthly look. These stripes beckon to the horizon, reflected in the sea. You get an unforgettable experience watching how the sunset immediately gives way to dawn and the sun rises from almost the same point where it set. The north has one undeniable advantage over the south - there are few people in the White Sea region. The shores of the White Sea are almost deserted, and they themselves are so long that a feeling of freedom involuntarily arises. You can go ashore in any place you like, pitch a tent on the warm sand of the beach and enjoy the silence and the miraculous influence of northern nature. And finding suitable beaches for this on the White Sea will not be difficult. Deserted White Sea shores and numerous uninhabited islands extraordinarily picturesque. 
Currently, the White Sea has become one of the most popular places for diving in our country. Today, there are several modern dive centers in the Kandalaksha Bay of the White Sea. They are equipped with high-quality underwater equipment and delivery vehicles such as speedboats, motor boats and boats. Warm, comfortable hotels have appeared to accommodate divers year-round. The White Sea is perfect for learning scuba diving and winter ice diving. There's a lot to see here. The cold water of the sea hides a rich and diverse life, which not everyone can see. You can get a tan in a week, and it will last for the whole year.
