Russian Railways FPK branded two-story train. One hundred and fourth two-story building. Personal experience: pros and cons. Russian Railways and private operators

Double-decker cars of the Russian railway are part of the Moscow-Adler train. Russian Railways plans to launch trains with double-decker carriages with seats on the routes Moscow - Smolensk and Moscow - Belgorod, Moscow - Saratov. Double-decker cars are manufactured in compartment (64 seats), SV (30 seats), restaurant car, business class seated cars (58 seats), economy class seated cars (104 seats). The two-story dining car has 48 seats in the dining room and six seats in the bar. The length of the double-decker car is almost the same as a regular one (the double-decker version is 70 centimeters longer), and the height of the car has become 5.25 meters.

The main difference between a double-decker compartment and a regular compartment is the absence of upper luggage compartments and the height of the ceiling. Instead of 2.5 meters in a regular carriage, in double-decker carriage ceiling height – 2.1 meters. The designers of the double-decker car were given the task of “squeezing” it into the dimensions of a regular car. This is achieved by placing the first floor compartments between wheeled trolleys. Now, in order to get into the compartment on the first floor, passengers will need to go down the stairs and go up to the second floor accordingly. The entrance to the carriage, the conductor's compartment, and the toilets are located on the “middle” level.

On the diagram of a double-decker car, the numbers indicate:
1 – vestibule
2 – office space
3 – conductor’s compartment
4 - ladder of the brake end of the car
5 - passenger compartment of the first floor
6 - ladder not at the brake end of the car
7, 8, 9 – toilets
10 – utility room
11 - corridor of the non-braking end of the car
12 - large corridor of the first floor
13 - corridor of the brake end of the car
14 - large second floor corridor
15 - passenger compartment of the second floor.
The compartment numbers are indicated in red from 1 to 16. In the four-seater coupe version, the seats are arranged (odd seats are lower seats, even seats are upper seats):

First floor:
compartment No. 1 – 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place,
compartment No. 2 – 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th place,

The double-decker carriage can have 64-seat and 30-seat options. The 64-seater carriage has four-seater compartments, and the 30-seater carriage has two-seater compartments.
Passenger compartments of a double-decker Russian Railways carriage are equipped with: two lower places and two upper ones (in the 30-seater version there are no shelves), in the two-seater compartment there are shelves for small items, under the window table, a ladder and a handrail for climbing onto the upper berths (in the two-seater version - not present), hooks for clothes and a mirror on the door.

Double-decker carriage with seats

The double-decker economy class carriage will accommodate 104 seats. In the business class carriage, there will be 29 luxury seats on each floor. The seats in the business class can be turned towards the direction of the train, or the interlocutors can turn the seats towards each other. All double-decker carriages are equipped with air conditioning and Wi-Fi with Internet.

For those who missed the post, you can read it first, and now I’ll tell you how I had to ride on the second floor of the Moscow-Adler train.

In general, I ended up on the second floor by accident. The train that goes from Stary Oskol to Adler takes 36 hours, and if you spend an hour getting to Voronezh, then from there Adler will be at your service in 16 hours. That's the math.

We didn't have time to buy tickets for the first floor. I had to figure out what it was like to travel on the train on the second floor.

Photo 2.

Get your tickets straight away. The bottom seat cost 7,000, the top 5,000, and the children's seat approximately 3,600.

Well, actually, most likely, all that I liked are actually the usual requirements for passenger transportation. It's just that things are often worse for various reasons.

So, we sat down in the evening and they brought us a hot dinner. On other trains I remember there was only dry rations.

In general, at first glance, there was as much space on the second floor as on a regular train. Convenient step to the second shelf.

Photo 3.

I expected that there would be some kind of narrow and uncomfortable staircase between the floors. There was no need to worry. Quite convenient. I ran here and there many times. I climbed up with bags, there was enough space.

Photo 4.

The only thing on the second floor that reminds you that you are not on a regular train is how low it is. To see what is there on the street, you literally have to get down on your knees.

Photo 5.

Once again the stairs.

Photo 6.

Mirror, for “movement control”. So as not to try to go down when the crowd is already rising.

Photo 7.

The compartment finally has modern personal lights. And a socket!!! OOOO!!! This is a fucking thrill. We have the only BRANDED train from Stary Oskol to Moscow, so in the COMPARTMENT for a lot of money there are sockets only in the corridors. And here is a personal one on your sleeping place.

Hello cinema and laptop.

Photo 8.

Such a big and beautiful box, and inside there are only plastic cutlery and a cupcake :-(, and also a lollipop.

Photo 9.

The first floor of the carriage goes straight, and the second floor goes to the left.

Photo 11.

From the outside, the carriage seems so high that it will not fit anywhere in the tunnels and under the crossbars. It gets through.

It's amazing why all the other cars are so low :-)

Photo 12.

Photo 13.

Conductor's closet.

Photo 14.

In this place in ordinary carriages there is usually a “samovar” with hot water.

Photo 15.

The conductor, in person.

Photo 16.

This is how a mirror works.

Photo 17.

112 seats - decent! I just don’t understand why the ticket prices are more expensive than usual. compartment carriage. After all, they promised that due to the large capacity of double-decker cars, prices would be lower there, especially on the second floor.

Photo 19.

I don't know what it is, but it sounds very impressive.

Photo 20.

Here's an interesting feature. Usually, garbage is piled up in piles in ordinary cars, but here they are sorting it out. I don't even have one like this at home.

Photo 21.

Photo 22.

Illuminated steps.

Photo 23.

Well, if we bless rockets, everyone has icons in their cars and amulets in offices and apartments, then why shouldn’t this be in the railway carriage.

Photo 24.

Photo 25.

But there is still one drawback. There is still less space on the second shelf of the second floor than in regular carriages. Firstly, as you noticed, there are no shelves for things. And sometimes they really helped out.

Photo 26.

Secondly, now the second shelf is only comfortable to lie on. It’s no longer possible to see something while sitting because of the beveled edges of the car roof.

Photo 27.

The first time I used free Wi-Fi on a train. Cool! This is satellite internet, as I understand it? Because there was no cellular connection, but the Internet worked:

Photo 28.

And the speed in general, you will agree, is normal for free Internet on the road.

Once again the second shelf is inconvenient.

Photo 29.

The entire carriage is equipped with fire alarms, alarms and warning speakers.

Photo 31.

I’ve also noticed this in regular coupes, but I still can’t find the time to find out more about it. What kind of cards are these that can be used to open and close compartments? Why are they never given to passengers?

Photo 32.

Has anyone ever used them? If not, then this whole system in each car is essentially wasted and done in vain.

Photo 33.

Well, we are already in Adler. Hello everyone from the shores of the Black Sea.

Photo 34.

I have only seen modern double-decker trains in European countries. In Finland, on Allegro, we passed a similar train with the VR logo - Finnish railways. And in Germany and Belgium they managed to use them for their intended purpose. But these were seated trains that ran between cities in the same country during the daytime. And the new Russian Railways cars are designed to occupy the niche of low-cost night trains. There is a problem with a shortage of tickets on weekends of the week, and double-decker cars will take over this passenger flow.

IN this moment new cars are in the Moskovsky station depot:
2.

From the first photo you can judge the height of the new cars and compare them with the old, single-story ones. Sergey, a great expert railway transport, kindly agreed to help me clearly demonstrate the height of the carriage in the photograph. Impressive, right?
3.

This is what a couple of cars looks like from the outside. How the passage between the cars is organized inside can be seen below:
4.

Those who enter the carriage for the first time will see approximately this picture. I would like to note the pleasant colors in which everything around is painted:
5.

These double-decker cars are produced in Russia at the Tver Carriage Plant. I didn’t know about the existence of this, everyone knows only the Mytishchi plant, which makes cars for metro trains :)
6.

General view of the passage on the first floor. I’ll note the digital display on the ceiling, which shows the time, temperature and car number:
7.

There are stairs on both sides of the corridor that take you to the second floor:
8.

The view of the corridor on the second floor is practically no different from the view on the first floor. If you don't pay attention to the details and don't look out the window, of course. The numbering of places on two floors is as follows: on the first floor - 1-32 places, on the second floor - 81-112 places. The lower seats of compartment cars are odd, and the upper ones are even.
9.

Now let's take a closer look at the coupe. The doors here are unlocked with magnetic cards, which are given to passengers upon boarding:
10.

General view of the coupe. Energy-saving LED lamps are used as lighting sources. Bed linen is included in the ticket price. The upper shelves are lined by the conductor before departure, the lower shelves are filled with packed sets of linen already in the compartment.
11.

Now let's look at the details. This wall has retractable footrests to make it convenient to climb to the top place:
12.

On both sides of each sleeping place Bright spotlights with switches are installed. With their help, you can arrange your own personal lighting without disturbing others' sleep. A window is a glass unit. There is a speaker installed above the window in the middle, from which music plays and, if necessary, voice alerts sound. There are volume buttons under the speaker:
13.

Included soffit, and hooks with hangers. Below are the main lighting switches:
14.

Many people will thank you for the electrical outlet:
15.

Here I used Mikhail’s help to show the distance between places:
16.

The number of information signs and warnings is impressive:
17.

There are two types of compartment cars: staff cars and regular ones. The head of the train rides in the headquarters car, along with the passengers; there will be one such car for the entire train. The staff car has a slightly different configuration of rooms, and because of this there are fewer seats - 50 versus 64 seats in a regular car. Due to this, some rooms in different carriages may look different. For example, toilets can come in at least three different configurations. The photo below shows the main toilet in the staff car. On the right hand there is a sink, a water tap, a dispenser for liquid soap, an outlet for electric shavers and three rather large mirrors:
18.

Toilet and toiletries opposite the sink:
19.

20.

21.

In addition, the staff car has a toilet for disabled people, including those in wheelchairs. Here the room is several times more spacious:
22.

And next to it, through the wall, there is a compartment for the disabled. There are two sleeping places (one for a disabled person, the second for an accompanying person), and a separate chair.
23.

24.

All switches are signed in raised Braille for the visually impaired and blind:
25.

In a regular carriage, the toilet rooms are simpler and smaller. Apparently there will be no shortage of available toilets on this train:
26.

He promised to show the passage between the cars. The orange doors open when you press the “OPEN” button, and automatically close hermetically after 15 seconds. There is a vestibule, but it is narrower than in old trains, and you cannot smoke there:
27.

We go into the third car, which was shown to us - the dining car. It is also two-story.
28.

On the ground floor there is a bar and kitchen:
29.

View in front of the bar counter:
30.

Kitchen:
31.

32.

On the second floor there is a restaurant with 48 seats, 4 seats at each table:
33.

34.

Above each table there is a panel for calling waiters. They provided a separate button to ask for an invoice. Competently!
35.

While eating you can watch football, for example:
36..

The restaurant has a very rich menu for the train. I'm used to seeing this in decent restaurants. How about a burger for 400 rubles? Quite an adequate price, considering that food is provided on the train on the way from St. Petersburg to Moscow and back.
37.

In addition to the main menu, there are signature dishes. This menu is different depending on the direction of travel:
38.

Well, some views from the office premises. Here you can pour cold water or boiling water for tea, heat food, wash dishes. Opposite there is a coffee maker:
39.

Each carriage is equipped with a heating and air conditioning system, which is controlled from such a panel. The panels of the video surveillance system, security and access control to the premises are also displayed here. The cars receive all power supply from an electric locomotive. And the staff car, in addition, is also equipped with satellite communication and navigation systems.
40.

And I would also like to add that young and smiling conductors work on this train:
41.

Now let's talk about the price of the issue. The train we looked at will be numbered 5/6. Under number 5 he will travel from St. Petersburg to Moscow, and under number 6 - back. The first flight, as I said above, is scheduled for February 1st. You can buy tickets for this train only in compartments; there are no reserved seats.

Tickets are already on sale. This happens according to a dynamic pricing system, when the cost of tickets increases as they are sold out and seats on the train are filled. The very first 200 tickets for a flight will cost a minimum amount of 1,299 rubles. The next 300 seats will cost 1,699 rubles, and then increasing. The last 100 seats will be the most expensive; they are priced at 2999-3299 rubles. You also need to know that the lower shelves will be slightly more expensive than the upper ones, namely 150-200 rubles. But travel on the first and second floors has no difference in price.
For comparison, the usual second-class cars on other trains cost 1,100-1,600 rubles, and compartments cost 2,000-3,000 rubles.

Now you know approximately what awaits you if you decide to buy a night ticket in a compartment in the direction of St. Petersburg - Moscow - St. Petersburg. We will monitor the first reviews during the actual flight. If you have any comments or suggestions, write here, I will pass them on to the responsible employees.

Almost everything is here. Air conditioning, video surveillance, toilet rooms (really rooms, not a corner to relieve oneself), doors with an electronic key, even compartments for people with disabilities. And there are twice as many seats here - the carriages are double-decker, but this is still the most ordinary train...

The reserved seat carriages were unusual. They are not found anywhere except Russia and former USSR countries. This is solely our invention.

In 1951, German drawings of the Ammendorf plant, as was customary in the post-war period, ended up at the Kalinin Carriage Works. Here, under the leadership of KVZ director Ivan Alekseevich Lukyanov, the design of the compartment car is being brought up to Soviet standards. The doors are removed, the partitions are cut and sealed, adding 18 side seats. For 65 years they have been traveling around the country like this... In 2006, in honor of the inventor reserved seat carriage, called one of the Tver boulevards.

It is noteworthy that the first double-decker carriage in Russia was made at the same Tver Carriage Plant in 1905.

The 21st century arrived in 2013. An unexpected turn - the Tver Carriage Works is again starting to produce double-decker cars, which should completely replace reserved seat cars.

New carriages are not much higher than usual

But you can photograph them in different ways, even from the same angle. Here they are huge and scary

And here they are cheerful and fast-paced

Once inside, you won't even understand what floor you are on. This is the first

And this is the second one. Almost no differences, except for the mirror at the end of the corridor

First floor compartment

The second one is almost the same.

God, a 220 socket! Not in the aisle next to the reclining chair, not in the toilet with the warning “For razors only”, but in the compartment and as many as two pieces! Although, why not four then?

Intercar doors open with a button and close automatically

Entrance to the compartment using cards

The most popular search query starting with the words “What happens if” will gradually become a thing of the past. Start typing this phrase in Yandex if you don’t understand what I mean.

On February 1, this train began traveling between Moscow and St. Petersburg. Departure at 22:50, arrival at 6:47.

Guide's kitchen. Microwave, coffee machine, thermopot... I don’t understand where the cup holders are hidden.

The dining car is decorated with collages. On the one hand, Moscow - the Kremlin, the Tsar Cannon, the University, on the other - St. Petersburg. They just didn’t take into account that sculptures are created in such a way that they are looked at from below. Face to face they look monstrous.

Nothing supernatural. Just a train, as it should be in modern countries. I would even say a budget train. The price is not much more expensive than a reserved seat and is usually cheaper than all other compartment trains on this route.

Interesting photo report about a trip on one of the first flights double decker trains. Let's look further at how everything is arranged inside such double-decker train cars and read further comments about such a trip.

The test drive of the train began on November 2 at 07:50 Moscow time from the first platform of the Kazan station of the capital.

Was I scared? Very scary, because... They write such things that sometimes it’s almost creepy.
And I’m not too young for such tests-)

The carriages are Russian and made at the Tver Carriage Plant.
My ticket is on the second floor and, who knew, suddenly while driving I would fall somewhere with my things...

I went in and was stunned! My first thought was that I was on the wrong train.
For a second it seemed that I was in Europe and on the Paris-Nice route, and not Moscow-Adler.
Since when did they start making such cars in Russia?

In anticipation Olympic Games were purchased at the Tver Carriage Works
50 double-decker cars: 38 compartments, four each of SVs, compartment staff cars and a dining car.
Of these, three trains were formed that will go to Adler with stops in Ryazan,
Voronezh, Rostov, Krasnodar and Sochi.

A ticket to the Coupe cost me 3,206 rubles. Thanks to the increased number of seats
in the carriage it was possible to reduce the cost of travel in compartment and SV carriages.

And here is the coupe in which I have to travel 25 hours and 19 minutes.
It does not have an overhead luggage rack, but my rather large suitcase fit underneath.

The compartment has individual electrical sockets
for charging a mobile phone or laptop. Two pieces!

The fare includes: bed linen, drinking water
along the route, sanitary and hygiene kits and the press.

The whole train is packed to capacity - free seats No. My mischievous neighbor Vova!-)

The car is made to high European standards using new technologies,
equipment and materials - light, clean, comfortable,

Free hygiene kit

You will be surprised, but the ticket price includes packed rations.
I had to “risk” my health and test it. Survived!
Everything turned out to be edible, although I would have replaced the chicken pate-)

Set contents: waffles, crackers, jam, drinking water, pate, mayonnaise, mustard,
sanitary and hygienic set (paper napkin, knife, fork, boat, salt, pepper, sugar, toothpick), sandwich.

And here is the first stop

The train also includes a restaurant car.
On the second floor there is a dining room for 48-50 visitors

The lower tier houses the kitchen and bar.

Have I tested the restaurant's products for myself?

Of course I tested it. For 350 rubles I ordered a business lunch of salad,
first, second, and drink! And most importantly, he survived again!

Let's take a walk on the train

In double compartments (SV) each seat equipped with an LCD display for viewing video programs.

There is Wi-Fi on the train, but I admit, its speed leaves much to be desired.

You are not blind - separate waste collection is carried out in each carriage!

All carriages are equipped with three dry closets, which can be used during stops.
I read the following statistics from someone. A regular compartment car has 36 seats and 2 toilets.
This turns out to be 1 toilet for 18 passengers. The double-decker carriage has 64 seats and 3 toilets - 1 toilet for 21 passengers.
Allegedly, the toilets will be 15% busier.

I want to object! With three toilets and a full carriage, I never had to wait in line in 25 hours.
There was always one free toilet. The author of the statistics did not take into account that the toilets are open during stops.

Each carriage has a video surveillance system, control system, access control
and security passenger train, as well as air conditioning and heating systems,
which provides a comfortable microclimate.

People with disabilities have not been forgotten either.
The train has a special compartment and a wheelchair lift

Landscapes outside the window.

The view is better from the second floor!

The cars have a vibration compensation system,
which will allow passengers not to experience inconvenience when the cars rock.
And photos when moving are clearer)

The sea appeared outside the window - we were approaching Sochi

At each station everyone tries to take a photo as a souvenir with the first double-decker train

Are there any disadvantages? Of course there is, it is the lack of opportunity
regulate the air temperature in a separate compartment
(I saw something similar in Europe in Siemens carriages).

Arrived in Adler. Please note the difference in the height of the carriages.

I was met by a dog-)

Very beautiful station

I'll have to say goodbye to the train and tell you about the station

The construction of the station in Adler was carried out in the image and likeness of the popular
worldwide intermodal passenger transport hubs- hubs,
where a passenger can not only make a transfer or leave luggage,
but also get a wide range additional services- from purchasing fresh press
to hotel service.

The total area of the seven levels of the terminal is almost 30 thousand square meters. m,
capacity exceeds 15 thousand people per hour.

Everything sparkles inside

When will such stations be in Moscow?

The station can accommodate about 2 thousand passengers at a time

Per day new terminal can serve 56 pairs of long-distance and commuter service,
and on top of that, four Aeroexpress trains can depart and arrive from here every hour.

The station building consists of three parts: parking for 555 cars,
the sea and city parts of the building, as well as the concourse connecting them (the square where several streets converge)

So Yakunin coped with his task on the roads to the Olympics.
