Balatovsky Park of Culture and Recreation in Perm (PKiO “Balatovo”). Bicycle rental in Balatovo Park

True, the first interesting object On the route it is located in the bushes. If you walk along the edge of the forest along the Cosmonaut Highway and look closely halfway along the road from Odoevsky to the “Hospital Town,” you can discern in the thickets first an impromptu pet cemetery, and then a dilapidated brick structure. There is even a path leading to it, because there is a homeless camp nearby.

This structure is the entrance to a zoo that never happened. For the first time, they tried to move the long-suffering Perm zoo here back in 1967, they built a brick entrance group, and then something went wrong. And it continues to go wrong for fifty years. At the same time, we must pay tribute: the people who erected this structure half a century ago have advanced further in moving the zoo than anyone else has done so far. By today's standards, even a brick gate seems like a great achievement.

Next, enter the forest along one of the paths -  you can go to Odoevsky, you can go to the Ignatov Brothers, that’s not the point. Here you will almost immediately discover the wonderful world of modern park landscaping. The fact is that the developers who recently built a residential complex opposite Goznak decided at the same time to improve the entire adjacent park to make it more pleasant for the buyers of their apartments to walk in the surrounding area. It is unknown who was the landscape designer in this project, but I want to shake his hand, because as a result, the park was enriched with the following installations:

The pyramid is especially impressive. By the way, have you ever noticed how many different pyramids there are in Perm? Especially on the roofs of buildings. Perhaps someday we should do a separate project about them -  they say that some (for example, those on the roof of the Dominanta residential complex) were erected for some anti-scientific purposes. However, there is no such information about this Balatov pyramid. But it will serve as a guide for you - from it you need to go along the clearing towards Parkovoy. Along the way you will come across a dance floor for pensioners, a free fitness club under open air and a place for mass feeding of squirrels.

And in about ten minutes you will see the Balatovo Central Park of Culture and Culture - more precisely, what is left of it, or what it has degenerated into. Just a couple of years ago, there were the remains of old attractions here - “Orbits”, “Surprise”, “Roller Coaster” of local production, “Emelya” swings and a chain carousel. Over time, the carousels were dismantled, and their place was taken by more mobile and dull attractions - trampolines, shooting galleries, or something else where you need to use a special fishing rod to catch a toy from a puddle of water, but the toy is not caught.

It’s strange, but on Monday evenings the place is in full swing - the kebab shop (today it is the only one that competes in popularity with the Ferris Wheel - the only attraction left here from the old days) is overcrowded, and from the speakers installed in it a song with the words thunders throughout the park:

I won't marry, I won't marry,
Oh mom, I won't marry
Girls around me
Well, why do I need a wife?

I must say that a walk through this part of Balatovsky Park generally puts you in a poetic mood.

You smell a fresh, resinous smell
It's spicy and so tantalizing
You know, the heart of the forest is contained in it -
In a tall and mysteriously alluring pine

This is written on a sign that tells park visitors about the oldest pine tree. The author of the poem is not indicated, but there are other signs nearby — more educational than lyrical. For example, a sign asking not to litter in the forest also informs that the area is home to three species of amphibians, four species of reptiles, one hundred and nine species of birds, and twenty species of mammals. And indeed, animal world The Balatovsky forest is rich and varied. In winter, you can find traces of an agile hare in the snow - the oblique hare often comes close to the clearings. It happens that a majestic elk wanders into these parts -  especially in severe winters, when the elk has nothing to profit from in the thicket. Sometimes here you can meet a tricky red fox, and only the owner of the forest, the formidable Toptygin...

God. This is all poetry intoxication. Excuse me, please. Apparently, it’s time to stop breathing fresh air, let’s go closer to the city.

From the Central Park of Culture and Culture "Balatovo" it is better to go to Pozharsky Street -  along a long and straight clearing. A couple of years ago, a cold ideological war broke out there. The fact is that the route of the so-called “Russian jogging” ran here (or maybe still runs, I wasn’t interested). Perm anti-fascists, who were very outraged by the fact of these runs, did not come up with anything smarter than to paint swastikas on every pole along this route. After some time, the participants in the “Russian Jogging” painted over these swastikas, to the best of their artistic abilities. Thus, the ideological battle ended in a draw, and the pillars remained desecrated. Just like in the classic joke about two cowboys.

This anti-fascist clearing will lead us to an area called “Golden Sands” - probably the most developed area in the entire Balatovsky Park. Everything here is furnished so culturally that even the boys on the shore of the pond sit not with plastic bottles of beer, but with hookahs brought from home.

Well, the land art here is also on the level:

In principle, here you can already cross Podlesnaya Street and go to Parkovy, but it is better to take a further walk along the edge of the forest - first you will come across an oriental snack bar, next to which there is a whole miniature park with a bear.

And a little further - the Regional Hospital for War Veterans. If you still have time, it’s worth taking a walk around its territory. There is so much military equipment here that perhaps more can be found only in Motovilikha.

And no land art.

Since then, the park has undergone significant changes and has become a favorite vacation spot for citizens and guests of the city.

The village of Balatovo stood next to the thicket of the forest, and it became the reason why the park got its name. Now it has become part of the city of Perm. The first mention of the village of Balatovo dates back to 1647, but then it was not called that yet. In the 18th century, new ore deposits were sought and one of them was found in this area. In 1736, serfs working at a local mine settled in these territories, and after the abolition of serfdom in 1861, the village received its name and became Balatovo. The village was not large, and received its main development in the post-war years.
