Nausika
We knew that we would have to travel 1.5 km by shuttle to the beach, but in our hearts we hoped that this distance could be covered on foot if desired, so as not to depend on transport. As it turned out upon arrival, the last bus from the beach leaves at 18.15 (!), and the road is a winding route and is not intended for pedestrians. At the same time, the hotel pool is open until 19.00, when it begins to be cleaned, so any swimming ends at this time. You cannot swim in the pool before 9.00 in the morning. In my opinion, the water park at the hotel closes at 19.00 (entrance, by the way, is 5 euros per day or cheaper if you buy a ticket for a week at once). To Cefalu, a small ancient picturesque town, there are paid buses on a schedule (5-10 minutes drive). There is a bus to Palermo once a day, but it takes 3 hours to return - very little time to see the city. You need to take a taxi, which is not cheap. The breakfasts left much to be desired, as did the shower, plumbing and towels in the room. Animation only in Italian and French– elderly Italian and French guests, who make up the bulk of tourists, are, of course, happy! No Internet. The hotel area is small, there is nowhere to walk. Hotel advantages: beautiful view from the window, not hot (although the air conditioner works on schedule), nice beach, few Russians. Despite the shortcomings of the hotel, the holiday was wonderful. Every day we either went on excursions organized by Natalie Tours, or took a bus/taxi on our own to Cefalu, where we walked and swam. I especially liked the active volcano Etna and in fashionable resort town Taormina. Sicily is rich in historical and architectural monuments, sea, nature, wine and food. A great place to travel, just be careful when choosing a place and hotel!
