Fold the tent into a figure eight. Crimean mountains. Download video and cut mp3 - we make it easy

Have you bought a tent, installed it safely and now don’t know how to fold it? Sooner or later this question arises. Do not rush to get upset - this is a completely solvable problem. In this article we will tell you in detail how to assemble a tent into a round cover in different ways, not only for adults, but also for the little ones. You are ready? We begin!

How to fold a Chinese tent into a ring?

Chinese tents are very popular among tourists. They are loved because of their compactness, because every item for active rest Outdoors. The tent is no exception. The Chinese tent is also called “figure eight” or “arc-shaped” - whichever you prefer.

Yes, undoubtedly, such a tent is good and has a number of advantages, but the simple-looking design is fraught with little secret: It is not so easy to put it together for a person without some experience. Below we will introduce you to one of the methods that will make the tent convenient for both storage and transportation.

Let's start assembling the Chinese tent:

  1. First of all, we take the tent into our hands correctly - the result of all the work done depends on this. To do this, pick up the side edge of the tent with a wire frame. We fold it in such a way that the two side edges are pressed tightly against each other, that is, they are together.
  2. At the next step, we fold the side edge of the structure into a figure eight so that the shape changes - the large oval should turn into a small circle, which should fit into the tent cover.

That's all the Chinese awning is assembled, and there's even room left for other necessary things!

Important! The most time-consuming and requiring special attention moment is changing the oval shape into a circle by twisting. If you cannot fold the sides in the right direction on your own, then ask your friends or strangers for help. Or you can hold the slipping side with your foot, twisting the other side in parallel.

How to assemble an automatic tent?

An automatic tent, or as some call it an “automatic tent,” consists of fairly bendable springy steel, which is covered with synthetic fabric - polyester. These types of tents have a huge advantage - they are installed in a matter of minutes. But there are some problems with assembly, although putting the automatic structure together is not that difficult. To do this, you just need to know how to do it correctly, which we will tell you.

Important! This type of tent needs to be folded once, unlike the Chinese tent design, which is folded in two passes.

The algorithm for assembling an automatic tent consists of the following main stages:

  1. First of all, we fold all sides of the awning into one so that it becomes perfectly flat. The result should be a flat triangle, a square, that is, the shape of one side part.
  2. At the next stage, we place the tent on the floor or ground, at the same time pulling one side towards us, pressing it to one side edge of the plane.
  3. When the steel arcs of the automatic metal structure begin to fold into a figure eight, we twist it, turning the oval into a circle.

Important! Practice assembling your tent at home several times so that you don’t have to tinker with it outdoors for a long time.

How to fold a travel tent?

Everyone loves hiking trips, overnight stays on the shore of the reservoir. But, unfortunately, the weekend ends quickly and you need to pack up the tent before your next vacation. This question sometimes arises, but still, many people do not know how to properly fold a camping tent into a ring.

This is an ordinary two-layer awning with a frame made of durable fiberglass, with spacers for pegs. We put it together, but sometimes it’s just not possible to disassemble it so that the whole structure fits into the case. Tents with internal and external frames are folded according to the same principle.

Standard diagram for assembling a tourist tent:

  • First of all, we go around the building in a circle and remove all the pegs.

Important! Remove the pegs by hand rather than pulling on the spacers.

  • After this, we remove the awning, that is, the outer layer.
  • We check the inside of the tent to make sure nothing is left. We take out the frame arches, disassemble them on the ground and put them in a special case (if it was included).
  • We place the inside of the tent on the awning and roll it up into a tube.

Important! There is another assembly option: at the very beginning, put the inner layer on the outer one and twist them together.

  • First, put the rolled up tent in the cover, and then the arcs and pegs.
  • Tighten the cover with a cord.

Important! If the folded tent does not fit into the cover, it is not folded correctly.

How to fold a children's tent into a ring?

A children's tent is very similar to a tourist tent, only smaller and simplified. Accordingly, it is assembled in a similar way, but there are some differences. Assembly directly depends on the shape of the children's tent, which can be hybrid or highly modified. We will look at how to assemble all types of children's tents a little below.

Children's tent “house”:

  • The first thing you need to do is stand facing any wall of the house and grab the ribs of both sides with your hands.
  • Push the edge that you hold in your right hand forward - to the opposite corner of the tent.

Important! The house should look like a book that needs to be folded, closing the pages.

  • We hold the folded tent by the side ribs with the floor towards us and the roof away from us. We move our hands towards each other so that the wire ribs form a figure of eight when you connect both hands.
  • We place the upper and lower circles on top of each other to form a tent ring.

The process is completed, the tent can be postponed until the next games!

If suddenly the figure eight does not work out or the structure of the house does not want to fold, then there is another option:

  • Place the book-shaped house on a flat surface.
  • Move the lower part of the metal structure upward, towards the ceiling. With your right hand, hold the lower part of the house, and with your left hand, hold the side of the wire arch in the middle.
  • Gently press the side piece against the top area so that it extends towards the top of the house.

Important! Since the tent has rigid arches, when folded the house has rounded sides. Rotate the structure around its axis when folding the side part.

  • In the next step, we press the tent with our right hand and roll it into a ring so that the second half is above the first.
  • Now we have in our hands a compact circle that can be put in a case.

Children's triangle tent

So, let's start putting together a children's pyramid tent:

  • First, we stand facing one side of the structure. We insert one edge inward and push it towards the opposite one.
  • Afterwards, we tuck all parts of the canvas inward towards the central part, obtaining a flat triangle.

Important! Make sure that the elastic band, which is located on the bottom of the structure, remains outside.

  • We take the middle part of the base by the top of the triangle and rotate our hands so that we get a figure eight and our hands are connected.
  • Secure the resulting tent with an elastic band.
  • Place the tent in a special cover.

Children's tent “Princess Castle”

Do you think that it is impossible to assemble such a large and luxurious lock into a small round case? You are wrong to think so. It is quite possible!

Do not you know how to assemble a tent- Now we will analyze this in detail. Even if you are an oak and don’t understand anything about how they collect tourist tents - read to the end.

The tent is your home and how it will be built, clumsily or normally, will depend only on you. There is a lot of literature on how to assemble a tent, but now I will tell you the whole process in action, as well as how to disassemble it later.

Watch a funny video about how assembled the tent machine! This is definitely the problem :)

Assembling a tent according to the instructions (tourist tent, double), and like this:

Step 1 - finding a place.

Find a place for your future home. It is desirable that the position be as level as possible and without stones, sticks and other things. If something happens, you can simply clear out a more comfortable place for yourself. Determine where your entrance will be and in which direction your head will be directed. If there is uneven ground, snow, etc., clear the future sleeping area.

Step 2 - get the tent

We take out all the belongings from the case and look at its completeness. There are different types of tents, but in general the following set can be distinguished: inner tent, awning, arches, pegs.

If there is a diagram, then we carefully study it (I personally have not seen any diagrams anywhere). If not, then find an inner tent, it differs in color (bright yellow most often), the presence of entrances and a mosquito net, you can’t go wrong.

We spread it on the place you choose, naturally bottom down.

Step 3 - install arcs

In a case with under arches, we take the same ones arcs. These are tubes with a string in them. Everything is simple here. We assemble the arc into one whole “stick”, thread it through the loop on the inner tent (in the corners), thread it through the diagonal into the second loop, then we do this trick with the second arc. After that, all you have to do is secure the inner tent to the poles using fasteners (fastenings in the form of a plastic clip).

Step 4 - throw up the awning

Let's throw it on awning. So that all inputs match. We snap the awning to the inner tent (at the corners). We take out the pegs and insert them into the loops. Hammer the pegs at an angle; if you don’t have them, make them out of wood or press them down with a stone. There are various ropes on the awning; they are used for stretching; we tie them to trees or attach them to the ground with a peg. At this stage it is very important that you stretch your assembled tent as hard as possible (just don’t break it).

Step 5 - dig around the place

All that remains is to dig around the perimeter of the tent. It does not have to be a deep ditch from medieval times, 10-15 cm in depth is enough. If it rains, then you do not sail to distant lands. I forget to do this myself because I’m too lazy :).

If you spend the night near a river, be sure to! If it leaves the shores, an exciting journey is guaranteed.

If you don’t have a tent yet, or want something newer, I recommend looking in an online store, and I wrote about how to buy and get a discount from the author of the blog.

How to do it right dismantle the tent(Collapsing the tent).

1. Go around in a circle, take out the pegs, put them in a case. The pegs are removed by hand, not by guy ropes!
2. Untie the awning. If you have time and the weather permits, dry the tent in the sun (hang it on a tree or throw it over a bush. Lay the tent on its side to dry.
3. Check if everything is taken out, check the pockets and shelves in the tent! Remove the poles from the tent.
4. Fold the arcs and put them in the case.
5. Fold the awning exactly along the seams (!). Fold the tent evenly.

Place the tent on the awning and roll it into a tight tube.
* First put the awning with the tent into the cover, then carefully insert the poles, pegs, and repair kit for the tent. If everything does not fit into the case without effort, repeat the previous step. Don't force it in! Pull out the cover.

That’s all for now, subscribe to the blog so you don’t miss the next article.

For dessert: look at a VERY cool extreme selection, could you do that? Let's look:

Since tent designs are very diverse, I will try to make a universal guide that will cover more general principles installation of tents, without going into the intricacies associated with the installation of individual models. The assembly sequence may vary slightly depending on the type of tent.

Before you set up your tent.

It is better to prepare in advance to avoid unpleasant surprises. Holy of holies - carefully read the instructions for your palette, if you have one. Another tip is to try practicing setting up a tent at home. A city apartment can be cramped. An excellent option would be a gym, any dry room, any other dry and relatively clean place on the street, in the yard, etc. This can be very useful, especially if you have never set up such a tent before, when you need to set up the tent as quickly as possible, for example, in the rain.

We choose a place for the tent.

In short, the place should be, paradoxically as it may seem, but safe, fairly level, horizontal or with a slight slope. If there is a slope, then the tent should be pitched in such a way that you sleep with your feet down the slope. In case of a strong slope, you can place a log or stones so that your feet rest against the obstacle and prevent you from sliding down. It is ideal if the place for the tent is naturally protected from flooding during very heavy rainfall - a slight (5-10 cm) level elevation. The tent should also be far enough away from anthills, fire sites, and damaged trees and branches that could fall.

Lay out all the components of the tent.

Usually this is the outer and inner parts of the tent, a set of arches or poles, pegs, and a footprint. I personally prefer to lay out the poles first and then work on the rest of the tent. When assembling the frame, carefully monitor the joints of the tubes - there should be no gaps between them. Depending on the design of the tent, you may have 2-3 long poles of the same size and one short one, which is intended for the vestibule, or for the rocker. Set the short one aside.

Lay out the footprint (if there is one)

Simply put, this is the bedding for the tent. Designed to protect the bottom of the tent from sharp objects, additional insulation from moisture if the bottom of the tent has already lost its waterproof properties. Branded footprints can be used as a separate independent floor when installing a tent without an interior, like an awning. Budget substitutes can be films and fabrics of appropriate sizes: regular or reinforced polyethylene, Tyvek (Tyvek), tauperline, construction substrate for laminate (no thicker than 2 mm). In most cases it is not a required attribute. To prevent water from flowing from the outer awning under the tent, the footprint should be slightly smaller in size than the bottom of the tent. If the bedding extends beyond the edges of the tent bottom, fold the edges of the footprint that are too long. Lay out the footprint exactly where the tent will be placed.

Place the tent on the footprint.

Find where the tent's entrance (or entrances, there may be two) and position the tent in the direction you want. Further, depending on the type of tent (frame or gable), the actions will differ.

Installation of a frame tent.

In the classic version, we install the inner part first. Insert the arcs into the eyelets (pins, pockets, glasses) at the corners of the tent, the arcs crosswise (Fig. 2).

Secure the poles with plastic clips (instead of clips, rarely, but there may be other devices) sewn to the tent (Figure 3). At the intersection of the arches there is usually a bandage to tie the arches together. In some designs, it is necessary to first thread the poles into the corresponding sleeves of the tent, usually the outer part, and then insert the poles into the pins, thus raising the tent. Secure the arc-yoke (if it is provided for by the tent design) at the intersection of the arcs (at in this example absent).

When you have secured the frame, the arcs should be curved along the corresponding elements (sleeves, rows of clips), each arc in its own plane. If the arches are bent out of plane, as happens with deformed arches, correct them.

Next, everyone recommends stretching the bottom and securing the tent with pegs. If you have a tent with an exoskeleton, i.e. the arcs are attached to the outer part of the tent, then stretching it on pegs is the time. For a regular frame tent, I recommend securing the tent flysheet first. To do this, figure out where your entrance(s) are and where the frame arcs will be located. In these places, devices are usually provided for fixing the awning to the arches, bandages or Velcro fasteners (Fig. 4). Thread the vestibule arc into the sleeve. The corners of the awning are usually attached to the inner tent with hooks or fastex buckles (Fig. 4). In budget options, I have seen that the corners are not attached to the inner tent, but are stretched on separate hooks and attached to the ground.

Only when I have attached the awning to the tent, fastened all the zippers and straightened the arcs if necessary, do I start pegs. First of all, we stretch the points where the arcs are attached (5-1). Usually these are the corners of the living part of the tent. Secondly, I fix the vestibule (5-2). Next, I tighten the intermediate points of the bottom of the awning - the “middle” (5-3). I recommend driving the pegs into the ground at an angle away from the tent.

Many people are confused by guy lines to provide greater wind resistance (5-4). People unknowingly pull everything that can be pulled. If there is no strong wind and your tent is not exactly “budget”, then there is no need to tighten guys to make it wind-resistant, it’s just a waste of time. The exception may be cheap ones, or those with a poorly thought out tent design.

A properly installed tent should stand beautifully! The awning is evenly tensioned, without sagging and without places where water can accumulate, even more so. Imagine it's an umbrella. The awning, ideally, should be stretched like fabric on an umbrella. A really good tent will have the awning stretched evenly on its own, without any stretch marks. The inside and outside of the tent should not touch. The more uniform this gap is in different parts of the tent, the better. Please note that when wet, the awning stretches slightly and unwanted sagging may appear in some places.

What to do if the ground is rocky and the pegs won’t clog?

Look for rocks, tie guy ropes to rocks, and stretch out the tent. For each stretch there can be one large stone, or several smaller ones.

Installing a gable tent: true retro in our time.

Secure the bottom of the tent with pegs. First of all, I recommend tightening the corners, and then the intermediate points. It's better to start with diagonal points. By stretching the bottom evenly, we install the support posts. They are usually installed inside the tent. Although the corresponding areas of the skate are reinforced with eyelets, these areas still tear over time. To prevent this situation, you can master setting up a tent with pegs from the outside. To do this, the peg is rested against the eye to which the ridge guy is tied, or they are wrapped around the post with the guy rope itself. It is better to install the gable with at least two people. First of all, we install the racks in a vertical position and tighten the ridge guys. When tightening the ridge guy lines, make sure that the ridge of the tent, the poles and the peg to which the guy line is attached are on the same straight line. Drive the pegs into the ground at an angle away from the tent.

Then we tighten the side wings, first of all the corners. If folds form during tension, we look for which guys should be pulled tighter and which ones should be loosened. A properly stretched tent has smooth slopes, without folds.

When spending the night in the forest, quite often you can stretch a tent between two trees and not use support poles. To do this, it is worth increasing the ropes of the ridge guy ropes, or replacing them with longer ones, then it will be possible to stretch the tent even between quite far-growing trees.

Let's summarize.

  • Read the tent setup instructions, if available.
  • Choose your tent site carefully.
  • Follow the order in which the tent is assembled. Lay the footprint first and then assemble the tent, first assemble the frame tent and then stretch it on the pegs, not the other way around.
  • The tent awning should be stretched evenly, without folds or sagging, like an umbrella.

One last important tip: try to position yourself inside the tent so that, if possible, your things do not touch the walls of the tent. When it rains, water can gradually drip onto the inner tent from the awning without penetrating inside. If any of the things touch the walls of the inner tent, they can absorb moisture like a sponge. If things also press the inner tent to the awning, then things don’t even need rain to get wet - they will perfectly absorb the condensation that forms on the inner walls of the awning.

Lay out the tent on the ground so that all 4 corners are visible. Then you apply parallel corners, folding the tent in half. Then you do the same thing, only with other angles. And so on until the tent is folded into a figure of eight.

    Here is a visual diagram:

Folding the tent in a figure eight is very convenient and actually not that difficult

In order to fold a tent in this way, you need to step by step, first fold the tent as shown in the diagram, and then twist it and fold it again.

And here is another diagram for a better understanding:

When we bought a tent for our daughter, the saleswoman in the store showed us how to assemble it in a figure eight. At first glance, everything was clear to us, but when we encountered this problem at home, we realized that not everything was as simple as it seemed to us at first glance. This video helped us a lot.

Folding a tent in a figure eight is not as difficult as it seems at first glance. Here are several options for pictures - diagrams that will help you understand this simple matter. There is an option for a triangular and square tent. The folding principle is the same in terms of twisting.

It's actually very simple. I'll try to explain in words. Previously, in childhood, we had hats whose brims were folded into a figure eight and the hat was put away in a small handbag. It turns out that the same folding principle applies to children's play tents, of which there are now a great many.

The tent must first be folded into a rectangle. To do this, we connect the diagonal corners together, as if nesting into each other, and then we fold the resulting triangle in half, we get a flat rectangle (or square). Now we take this rectangle by diagonally opposite ends - by the upper left corner with the left hand, by the lower right corner with the right hand. And now we simultaneously turn our hands in different directions left away from you, right towards you. The tent will roll up into a circle of its original size and fit into the cover. Perhaps several long description, but in reality everything is very simple.

Even one person can handle laying out the tent; you just need to assemble and disassemble it yourself a few times in order to remember the technique and in the future independently lay out the tent in a figure eight. Even harsh winter weather can be easily handled. The scheme is simple (especially when it comes to semi-automatic tents):

    Here it’s straight up military)))

Folds two tents (summer and winter option), everything is clear, but the twist is actually so tricky, but at the same time simple that it’s not easy to figure out on your own.

I will show you several diagrams for folding a tent in a figure eight pattern. But the most important thing is that before you do this, you need to lay out the tent evenly on the ground so that all the corners can be seen, and then you will see the subsequent actions on the diagrams. Here are examples of how to fold a tent.

Setting up a tent is a simple process, but it requires some skill. How to fold a tent so that it easily fits into a cover? How to collect all its elements and not forget anything?

How to fold a tent house?

Standard double layer tent, consisting of an inner tent, an awning, poles and pegs, is easy to assemble. The main thing here is to equip it in such a way that all the parts fit into the case.

Method 1.
If the tent has an internal frame made of arcs (when the arcs are located under the upper awning), then you first need to remove all the pegs, clean them of any remaining soil and put them in a bag. The next stage is to thoroughly dry the awning from moisture. After this, it can be removed and spread on the ground.
Next, the arcs are pulled out of the ground, disassembled and packaged in a separate case. All that remains is to spread the inner tent on the ground, fold it in half and roll it up. The resulting tube is placed on a tent folded in half and rolled up. Ready! The tent can be folded into a cover along with all its elements.

Prominent representatives of tents with an internal frame are tents and. The first has two entrances, two ventilation valves, and is treated with fire-resistant impregnation. The second is simpler in terms of configuration, but also has two valves and a reliable top awning that protects from ultraviolet radiation and fire.

Method 2.

Both winter and summer tents, if they have an external frame, are assembled a little differently. First, all the pegs are pulled out and the inside of the structure is removed. Next, the arcs are removed from the awning and placed in a cover. It turns out that both the outer and inner parts of the tent were on the ground at the same time. The inner part must be pulled out and laid out together with the awning to dry. After this, each layer is folded at the seams, stacked on top of each other and rolled into a tube. All that remains is to put everything in the case.

An example of a tent with an external frame is the tent from Tramp. It is made of polyester, has two entrances, a spacious vestibule, pockets for storing small items and ventilation valves to ensure air flow at night. Tramp, as well as hiking and can be found in an online store or in a hunting salon.

How to fold a tent automatically?

Automatic tents have a huge advantage - they are very quick and easy to set up, but the reverse process can sometimes be very painful. In fact, folding a triangular, square or round automatic tent is not difficult.
First you need to fold all sides into one (turn a voluminous product into a flat one). The result should be a flat square, circle, triangle, in general, some kind of shape depending on the type of tent.

After this, the tent is laid on the ground and one of its sides is pulled towards itself, while pressing this side to the opposite edge of the figure. The arcs will begin to twist into a figure eight and all that remains is to help the figure eight turn into a circle a little.
It would be better if you practice folding an automatic tent at home before going on a trip, otherwise there is a high risk that after fishing or hunting the tent will arrive not in a cover, but disassembled.
