Tag Archives: White sand beaches in Goa. Beaches of North Goa: which is the best

Almost all Goa beaches are great for a relaxing holiday, but on some (usually in the south) there is nothing else to do other than swimming and toasting on a sun lounger.

Many tourists believe that best vacation possible only in the south. However, North Goa can provide almost the same beach holiday, but unlike the south, it has a richer and more varied evening life. This post will contain an overview of the most popular beaches, photographs, my reviews and comments.

Goa has several beaches in the center of the state, in close proximity to Dabolim Airport and the state capital, Panaji. Geographically, they are located neither in North nor in South Goa, but somewhere in the middle (let's call this place Central Goa), although from the point of view of the administrative structure of the state, this is still the south of the state.

Goa beaches on the map

The conditional watershed between the southern and northern beaches is located in the state capital, the city of Panaji. In the indicated city and in the town of Vasco da Gama there are several beaches, but they definitely will not suit you and I would not recommend considering them as an option for beach holiday. What the city of Vasco da Gama is like and what beaches there are, read the link.

Pay attention to the map presented in this section of the post; it clearly shows where the southern, central, and northern beaches are. In the following sections of this post, you will find links to detailed description Goan beaches.

The best beaches in North Goa

If you go to Goa for emotions, noisy parties and don’t want to go to bed at ten o’clock in the evening, then North Goa is one hundred percent suitable for you. However, it should be accepted local peculiarities in the form of cows on the beach, an abundance of beach vendors and the standard Indian street chaos.

Kerim is the most north beach in Goa, Kerim is always calm and comfortable. Most vacationers in this place come here for the whole season, and the secluded Kerim beach helps them find exactly what is becoming less and less in Goa every year - peace and quiet.

Vegetation on Kerim is dominated by tall pine trees rather than coconut palms as in other places in the state. Ferries depart from the northern part of Kerim across the Tirakol River, using which you can explore the nearby attractions of the neighboring state: Tirakol Fort, Ready Fort and Paradise Beach.

You can get to Kerim Beach along a paved road or come from neighboring Arambol along a narrow winding path that winds through the hills.

Arambol Beach

Anjuna Beach

Anjuna is considered the place of the first hippie hangouts in Goa; it was here that in the late 60s of the last century people from all over the world with a certain position in life and a different ideology began to gather. The “flower children” took a liking to this friendly Goan coast and agreed to meet regularly in this magical place.

Some of them went to India in search of spirituality, others dreamed of immersing themselves in a thousand-year-old magical culture. Many people liked this place and began to spend more and more time here. Gradually, the Goan hippie commune grew and spread to neighboring beaches, but Anjuna was the epicenter.

The main attractions of Anjuna are Swap meet, which takes its history from the same hippies and the Kerlis restaurant, where parties are sometimes held.

Swimming on Anjuna Beach should be in places where most people swim - this is due to the rocks hidden under the water, which can cause injury.

Baga Beach

On a small area coastline there is a huge hotel Bogmalo beach resort (4 stars), and at the opposite end of the beach you can find the Goa Diving diving club. More affordable accommodation is possible only in the surrounding villages; Bogmalo is not rich in entertainment and the tourist infrastructure here is very mediocre.

Best beaches in South Goa

The best beaches of South Goa are ready to offer you the following: the best hotels, inflated prices in sheks, a relaxing holiday, clean, uncrowded beaches and the romance of relaxing in the shade of palm groves. A holiday in the south is suitable for those who travel to Goa for romance, peace and tranquility.

The abundance and variety of holiday destinations in the southern part of the state is surprising; in this part of Goa you can find very quiet (almost uninhabited) beaches, and right next door there are analogues of Calangute and Baga with an abundance of tourists and a crowd of Indians trying to swim in the sea. , read the link. In this post I want to focus your attention on the most interesting places South Goa is worth a visit.

Palolem has an infrastructure quite suitable for long-term living (hotels, cafes, shops, etc.), but immediately after sunset, all life on Palolem falls asleep, so it can be quite boring.

The natural beauty of Palolem attracts many tourists here; every year the beach becomes more and more crowded, but for now there is enough space for everyone.

Agonda Beach

Agonda is located five kilometers from famous beach Palolem is quiet place for a long, relaxing holiday. The beach does not look as exotic as Palolem (instead of palm trees hanging down to the water, Agonda has pine trees), but the sunsets in Agonda are just as amazing as those on Palolem.

Agonda beach is not rich in entertainment, however, the public vacationing here does not particularly need it, but standard cafes - shekis - are present in abundance.

Have a nice holiday in Goa.

32. beach Grandmother's hole

Deserted beach near the port of Mormugao and the town of Vasco.

31. beach Bayna

Dirty beach, local red light district (which they tried to destroy, but failed).

The beach is not prepared for tourists, and simply does not deserve a visit

And he's also terribly dirty and scary.

30. beach Velsao

Not a very popular beach overlooking a chemical fertilizer plant.

You won't be able to relax here, there is only one hotel, and that one is weak, to put it mildly.

Don't let the view of the fertilizer plant scare you - the beach itself is clean and interesting. You can come here for exploration.

Normal hotels on this beach: Holiday beach Resort by Adore

29. beach Kanaguinim

Clean and beautiful, but without any entertainment, hotels, or reasons to go here.

28. Beach Lovers

A secluded beach without cafes or hotels, popular among locals and tourists as a place for lovers to walk

You can also go for a walk here, especially from the neighboring beaches

27. beach Cabo De Rama

Wild beach without hotels or infrastructure.

26. beach How about

The most inaccessible beach is what is called “secret”.

The beach itself is average, but the nature around is gorgeous.

Worth the trip if you decide to explore the beaches of South Goa.

25. beach Butterfly

Uninhabited microbeach between Agonda and Palolem.

Another very secluded beach in South Goa. We definitely recommend a visit to lovers of quiet beautiful beaches

24. beach Field

Incredibly empty, incredibly picturesque beach of South Goa. Goa's last beach in the south!

A beach for super original travelers who can then say at home - we were on the southernmost beach of Goa, lived in a resort for 300 rubles a day, and were tired of thinking of things to do

23. beach Hansa

Beautiful, clean beach, guarded by the military. It is difficult to get here, there are no hotels or cafes, but it is worth a visit.

You won’t be able to relax here, there is no infrastructure for obvious reasons - the beach is located in a protected area

But it’s worth trying to get here - it’s an interesting adventure with a good beach and bonus planes

22. beach Hollant

Rocky but pretty beach south of Bogmalo.

Clean, small beach.

What prevents us from calling it excellent is the stones and the lack of specific ideas on what to do here.

It’s worth coming here as part of a tour of all the beaches of Goa for a couple or three hours.

The only normal hotel on the beach Devasthali - The Valley of Gods

21. beach Consua

A very secluded beach, unexplored by tourists, without hotels or cafes. You can come check it out as part of your exploration of South Goa.

If you have money, you can relax at the Alilla Diwa hotel - it is right on this beach, and in fact the entire beach belongs only to the guests of this hotel. It’s more interesting to go to this hotel on a tour - . The hotel is worth the money.

20. beach Cooking

A popular and huge beach about 10 kilometers long.

Large beach, quite deserted. But at the same time, there is a categorical lack of quality hotels at reasonable prices.

It’s beautiful, but it doesn’t have any zest, why you should choose it.

In principle, you can choose South Goa as a base for exploring if you value peace and quiet first of all.

19. beach Betul

Hard-to-reach, clean, calm beach of South Goa.

It’s worth visiting only for sporting interest if you decide to go around all the beaches of Goa.

Nice hotel on this beach - Mayfair Hideaway, also more interesting to go on a tour than on your own, will come out around .

18. beach Cola

Quiet beach in South Goa, with clear sea, a small number of hotels and entertainment.

But this is clearly not enough to choose it for relaxation

17. beach Darvalem

Traditionally for South Goa, the beach is deserted, without much entertainment.

But at the same time, the beach is quite beautiful, somewhat reminiscent of the beaches of Thailand.

16. beach Galjibaga

Pristine Olive Turtle Beach

Three checks and zero hotels

Turtles bonus

There are only two hotels near the beach - Casa Galgibaga and La Mangrove

15. beach Cansaulim

The beach is suitable for those who are looking for silence, solitude, and at the same time want to stand out with their choice - to go where others do not go

In principle, you can go here if you catch good prices at Heritage Village Hotel

14. beach Arossim

Calm white sand beach, north of Utorda Beach

The beach is suitable for a secluded holiday, in peace and quiet, and at the Park Hyatt Goa. As always, check - sometimes it works out cheaper than doing it yourself.

13. beach Rajbagh

Quiet and beautiful beach hotel The LaLiT Golf & Spa Resort Goa.

Monopoly of a five-star resort - and this means high prices for all

The hotel itself is probably a good option, considering that it is 5 stars, has excellent reviews on TripAdvisor, and is approx.

12. beach Utorda

Respectable, calm and beautiful beach in South Goa.

Nice beach, beautiful and calm sea

Small, secluded, rustic

11. beach Mobor

One of the popular beaches of South Goa, a noisy extension of Cavelossim Beach.

Not a bad beach, but unfortunately not at all budget.

To stay here in relative comfort, you will have to choose one of two quite expensive hotels. We recommend Holiday Inn Resort, cheaper than booking on your own

10. beach Bogmalo

Quiet and calm beach near Dabolim airport.

You can choose this beach if you love Goa, but don’t like noise, love nature, but don’t like to go too far

The beach is very small, about 600 meters, quiet and calm.

An absolute plus is the proximity to everything, but at the same time no one bothers you to relax.

9. beach Betalbatim

One of the cleanest beaches in South Goa, with just over developed infrastructure, recommended for visiting.

Something between an absolutely wild and incredibly touristy beach.

At the same time secluded, and clean, and accessible, and more or less developed

For hotels, pay attention to Jasminn by Mango Hotels

8. beach Zalor

Nice, clean beach.

In general, it is only hampered by inflated prices for hotels, although there is a good guesthouse with great reviews and a price of about 1000 rubles per night and apartment houses for 500-800 rubles. Most famous hotel- of course . We have made a selection of all the options on

7. beach Cavelossim

The price-quality ratio when choosing hotels is worse than on other beaches in Goa - for good hotel you'll really have to pay more

Like all of Goa, not so big entertainment, as we would like.

6. beach Putnam

Goa is one of those resorts that is simply... love in Russia. The thing is that the local season begins in October, when other sunny resorts, such as Greece and Turkey, stop operating. That is why travelers dream of celebrating the New Year holidays in Goa by getting acquainted with Indian culture.

General information about Goa beaches

Before you go to local resorts, you need to decide on a hotel for your vacation. The most important characteristic when choosing a hotel is proximity to numerous attractions and a variety of beaches.

In Goa itself there are several dozen beaches, each of which is interesting in its own way. For example, in north Goa wild beaches predominate, where there are very few people, and where you can relax from the eternal noise and din of the Indian tourist capital. On south Goa There are both popular and wild beaches, each of which deserves attention.

What Indian beaches can be called the most attractive and interesting for relaxation?

Top 5 best beaches in North Goa

Arambol Beach

Arambol beach in Goa can be easily compared to sandy Patong in. Here also a lot of people, parties and various discos are held regularly. During the day, a dance school and yoga classes are held nearby.

Local sand beach stretches for several kilometers, but people still don’t have enough space here. Popularity and crowdedness can be considered among the disadvantages of this beach. Among the advantages It is worth noting the magnificent sand, as well as the picturesque local views and the smooth entry into the water.

Arambol Beach is more suitable for youth recreation than for family time.

Mandrem Beach

If travelers do not want to be too far away from the fun nightlife, but still dream of relaxing on the beach, then Mandrem Beach is their ideal choice in Goa. This beach is located not far from Arambol, but it is much quieter here. The place is popular among married couples, the entrance to the water is very smooth, there are no stones at all.

Among the disadvantages, it can be noted that there are practically no shopping shops here, but precisely because of the low popularity of the beach, this beautiful place remains like this not crowded.

Morjim Beach

This place is called "Russian village", since this is where Russians themselves most often vacation, and immigrants from Russia prefer to settle near the beach.

Local owners of small hotels, retail shops and discotheques quite often bring domestic DJs. That is why, if a traveler misses his native speech, he should go to Morjim Beach in Goa.

Main advantage This beach is the beauty and picturesqueness of these places. The main drawback is too many Russians and inflated prices. The holiday is suitable for both married couples and young people.

Vagator Beach

At one time, the beaches of Arambol and Vagator were popular with hippies. Those days are long gone, and the habit of rolling on the local sandy slopes incredible parties stayed.

The beach is surrounded by rocks, and because of this it seems much more picturesque than other places in Goa. In addition, Chapora Fort is located nearby. The presence of nearby attractions and the picturesqueness of the beach itself are perhaps the main advantages of this place.

Anjuna Beach

The local beach is considered one of the most inconvenient for relaxation, since it is strewn with shells, and the entrance to the water is sometimes stone. Then why do many travelers tend to stay near Anjuna?

The thing is that the local beach is adjacent to largest tourist market. There are so many different souvenirs and nice little things sold here that your eyes will definitely run wild. Prices at the market are very affordable, so it’s better to buy souvenirs here.

Top 5 best beaches in South Goa

South Goa is considered more picturesque and attractive for recreation, and therefore it is here that those tourists who are not limited in funds tend to go. Since 4* and 5* hotels are located here, a holiday in the southern part of Goa is considered more expensive and luxurious. Local beaches are also distinguished by the highest comfort. Which of them are considered the most popular?

Palolem Beach

Palolem Beach is one of the southernmost beaches in all of Goa, famous for its magnificent landscapes and optimal conditions for relaxation. There are many shops and several cafes here, so the beach is very popular.

Main advantage, because of which the beach is very popular - optimal price-quality ratio in local shops and restaurants. Despite the status of this place, it is very popular.

Colva Beach

Another incredibly popular beach is Colva, also called "tourist heart" of Goa. The beach is very popular due to the numerous hotels located nearby.

Multi-kilometer Sandy shore will allow every tourist to find his place on the beach, and the presence of numerous shops guarantees a colorful shopping experience.

The main disadvantage of the beach- there are really a lot of people here, so those who like privacy should look for other places to relax.

Cansaulim Beach

The right beach for romantics and lovers of a relaxing holiday. There are practically no people here, but the sandy shore itself leaves only positive emotions. Entry into the water is very smooth, while the sea is calm and clean.

Travelers will also be sure to be pleased with the picturesque local landscapes. The only drawback- complete absence of any entertainment.

Agonda Beach

Agonda Beach is suitable for those who adore relax in comfort. Local hotels offer very high prices for accommodation, but not far from the beach itself there is a campsite where you can pitch a tent for a small fee.

There is several restaurants, interesting cafes, but discos and other night life are missing. That is why Agonda Beach is preferred by family people and members of the older generation.

Varca Beach

A very popular beach, where a large number of tourists from hotels located nearby usually gather.

Varca Beach offers travelers a lot of different entertainment. So, for example, here you can rent a boat and go to the open sea, admire the dolphins. A very picturesque place for those who are not afraid of noise and crowds.

If a traveler does not want to have problems with finding a sun lounger on the beach and with crowds, he should choose hotels in Goa with their own beaches. It is in such hotels that vacation becomes much more comfortable, but it is much more difficult to experience the colorfulness of the country.

So, which hotels offer the best beach holidays?

  1. Cuba Mandrem Retreat 3*
    This hotel does not have own beach, but Ashvem, Mandrem, Morjim are located nearby. Among such diversity, you can easily choose exactly the beach that seems the most picturesque and fun. The hotel itself has 3 stars, and holidays here almost always remain budget-friendly.
  2. Beleza By The Beach 4*
    The hotel has its own private beach, adjacent to Colva Beach. Since only hotel guests can relax on the local beach area of 2 hectares, there are never any problems with the lack of sun loungers. A very interesting and picturesque place to relax.
  3. Ocean Palms Goa 4*
    The hotel itself is 4 stars, located near Calangute beach and offers optimal conditions for relaxation. The local picturesque beach will delight you with its sparse crowds, and the presence of an on-site spa complex and fitness center will satisfy even the most demanding travelers.
  4. Spazio Leisure Resort 3*
    The hotel itself has only 3 stars, but offers optimal conditions for a beach holiday. Nearby is Anjuna Beach, where you can always have an interesting and bright relaxation. In addition, on the territory of the hotel itself there is free parking, restaurant and outdoor swimming pool.
  5. Alila Diwa Goa 5*
    This 5 star hotel has a private beach adjacent to Majorda Beach. Relaxing here is always interesting and pleasant, because the local species pleasantly surprise with their diversity, and the presence of numerous restaurants and cafes does not allow you to get bored. The hotel itself offers many attractions for tourists, from the Spa to its own library.

Going to an unfamiliar country for the first time is always scary, so it’s better to take note of the advice of experienced travelers in advance.

  1. Firstly, you should choose a hotel based on the availability of a private beach, because then your vacation will be more eventful and varied.
  2. Secondly, travelers better spare no expense and go to the open sea to look at dolphins. The impressions will remain unforgettable.
  3. Thirdly, it is better to come to freely accessible beaches, especially popular ones, in advance, as early as possible in the morning. The fact is that on popular beaches the sunbeds are occupied very quickly, and by the middle of the day there are no more places left, so you have to wait your turn.
  4. Fourthly, it is better to purchase souvenirs and various gifts for relatives away from the most popular beaches, because the prices here are as inflated as possible.

The best beaches in South Goa - video

Let's now take a closer look at best beaches South Goa and watch the video.

This beach, whose second name is “Harmal,” is a kind of cradle of the birth of the hippie movement in Goa, which began in the 60s of the last century. Young people, renouncing the benefits of civilization, came to Arambol to build their own paradise here. Despite the fact that the fashion for this trend is a thing of the past, the beach is still hippy, former hippies and creative people come here. The coast is built up with cottages, the path to the sea is dotted with souvenir sellers. There is a freshwater pond nearby, and the beach is bordered by Tiracol, a local river.

Calangute

Also in the past, a beach that gathers hippies, “living” in North Goa. Seven kilometers sea paradise with excellent infrastructure (a large number of restaurants, shops, shops), many courses (yoga, meditation, karate, reiki, massage), art gallery and other unusual things for beaches entertainment places Lovers of spiritual growth are welcome in Calangute. There are discos on the beach, and an Indian dance evening takes place in the gallery every week. Clubs are also plentiful, some open until dawn.

Baga

Calangute's "neighbor" is modest in size, but amazing beauty beach surrounded by several hotels. The sand on Baga is also amazing - bright, brown. The area is clean, the sea is like fresh milk. In addition, Baga has its own secret - the river of the same name, which the little ones adore. The most a nice place on the river - merging with the sea: on the border there “live” many black beautiful stones, “stepping over” which the river becomes like a huge seething fountain. And, of course, the market on Saturdays: shopping - yes!

Majorda

A kind of “exposition” of a series of beaches stretching in one line along 30 km of coastline. The area is so picturesque that some tourists claim that these regions are the most beautiful on the planet. Of course, the abundance of exotic vegetation, the cleanest sea, snow-white sand and rich undersea world Majors appearing on the shore after low tides make travelers return here again and again. Check it out, maybe you will not be an exception.

Cansaulim

The superb beach in south Goa is a favorite place for family vacation. The coast is replete with cafes and restaurants that provide the opportunity to use sunbeds and other beach “devices” for free. The highlight of Cansaulim is the crabs scurrying along the beach in the evenings: “arm yourself” with flashlights, take the kids and go hunt them down.

"Resident" of South Goa - Galjibaga beach- a gathering place for ecotourism fans. The untouched nature, the almost complete absence of traces of civilization, wild vegetation has been like a magnet for many years now, attracting those travelers who want to relax in puritanical conditions at sea. However, the local hospitable Indians will not let you die of hunger, don’t worry.

The beach with the most romantic history of the origin of its name. A legend about the unhappy love of the daughter of a Portuguese rich man, who, having fallen in love with a fisherman, but not receiving her father's blessing, threw herself into the sea. A stunning view of the pier of the same name, good infrastructure, delicious cuisine and hospitable residents will make your holiday on Dona Paula cozy but bright.

Sinquerim

This place is a paradise for fans of windsurfing and water skiing. Fishermen will also have something to do. And if your other half is not interested extreme entertainment, then you can go photo hunting, because Sinquerim is located near Fort Aguada, which is an irresistibly beautiful bay nestled between sandy coves, which means that photos taken on Sinquerim can become favorites in your vacation album.

Candolim

A very popular beach in the vast expanse of fun North Goa. Good infrastructure and reasonable prices attract many tourists to Candolim. Even during the high season, when it is difficult to find available accommodation in Goa, there is most likely a cozy corner for you in Candolim. The coast abounds with hotels and guesthouses. Locals respect travelers very much, so the number of boarding houses and restaurants is growing every year. Moreover, even during the peak season, it is quite possible to invest a moderate amount in terms of costs. So take note: Candolim is a beach for those who like to spend money, as they say, wisely.

Cola

Secluded, almost wild beach, to which there is not even an access road, you will have to walk. The abundance of palm trees, the clearest sea, silence and the proximity of a charming lake will serve as compensation for your forced walk. There is a cute cafe near the beach with romantic music. In general, you want to retire and enjoy honeymoon or be alone? So, go for Coke.

Aguada

An excellent beach near the fort of the same name is the first in a series of its “brothers” belonging to South Goa. Luxurious hotels, cleanliness, soft sand, availability of beach devices and an abundance of exotic vegetation - what else does a tourist need for a seaside holiday?

Miramar

Also having a second name - “Gaspar Diaz”, it is located in the shadow of a casuarina forest. The beauty is incredible, but the entrance to the sea here is rocky, vacationers should be careful, because the skin on the feet is so delicate.

Tiny (only 200 meters long) Vainiginim is said to be the most heavenly place in Goa. Previously, there was a settlement of Jesuits here, but the beauty of past centuries has not been washed away by civilization, and the connection of the sea with the Zauri River only adds color to Vainiginim - so desired and adored by romantic tourists. They say that the water here is so clean that the bottom in these parts can be seen even from satellites. The beach is located at picturesque bay, which seems serene in appearance, meanwhile, keep an eye on the children, since at some distance from the shore there is sometimes a powerful current. Vainiginim’s “trick” is a sea of turquoise. The beach is lined with several restaurants; they say the fish here is cooked to perfection.

The beaches of southern Goa are considered the most beautiful and cleanest in the entire state; most of the expensive all-inclusive hotels are concentrated right there (in the south of the resort state).

In turn, the southern ones can be divided into those located in the area settlement Colva, they are closest to Dabolim International Airport, there are many comfortable hotels, for every taste and income.

And in the very south of Goa there are several picturesque beaches, all of them located in close proximity to Palolem.

All beaches of south Goa on the map

In this part of the post I indicated almost all South Goan beaches. I used a space to separate those that are located at a decent distance from each other and it is difficult to reach them on foot (along the shore).

Near Colva:

  • Velsao;
  • Cansaulim;
  • Arossim;
  • Utorda;
  • Majorda;
  • Betalbatim;
  • Kolva;
  • Benaulim;
  • Cooking;
  • Cavelossim;
  • Mobor.
  • Betul;
  • Kanaguinim;
  • Cabo;
  • How about;
  • Cola.

Near Palolem:

  • Agonda;
  • Butterfly;
  • Palolem;
  • Colomb;
  • Putnam;
  • Rajbagh.
  • Talpona;
  • Galjibaga;
  • Field.

On this map you can see all the beaches near Colva. As I said earlier, most of them can be walked along the shore, but the walk will be very long.

Velsao Beach

Velsao is the northernmost beach, i.e. If you go ashore in Colva and walk along the sea all the way, you will come to Velsao.

The beach looks unsightly, probably due to its remoteness, or maybe because of the pipes of a nearby chemical production plant. If you believe the Internet, then chemical pipes are visible from here. fertilizer plant Zuari Agro Chemicals Limited.

It will be surprising for many to know that Goa is full of hazardous industries. For example, in Ponda (also in the south) there is a huge industrial zone, where tires, food, and other things important for the country are manufactured. So it’s worth getting used to being around hazardous industries; they exist in India too.

Among the decent hotels, it should be noted Resort Palmeiras Dourado, it is very pleasant and calm. 3 minutes to the sea, 10 minutes to the nearest beach cafe, the hotel is clean and tidy, everything is personally looked after by the owner, who is always on site.

The hotel has practically no competitors; this beach is not very popular among tourists, so you will be swimming in the sea in splendid isolation.

There are several sheks on Velsao beach, with minimal infrastructure. The complete absence of people, on the one hand, is good, but on the other hand, not very good, so I highly recommend not dining in such establishments (the food may not be fresh).

Velsao Beach is suitable for a relaxing holiday away from the tourist bustle, which has not yet reached this corner.

Cansaulim Beach

Immediately after Velsao there is Cansaulim, the beach is clean, equally deserted, it is quite suitable for relaxing and swimming in the sea. Once a year on Christmas Eve, the Feast of the Three Kings is held in Cansaulim, sometimes called the Feast of the Magi.

The holiday is Catholic and is held throughout Goa (I already wrote about this in the post “Church of the Three Magi in Goa”). The essence of the action is as follows: children dressed as wise men must take gifts to the church on the hill and lay them at the statue of Jesus.

One of best hotels on Cansaulim Beach is the Heritage Village Resort. The declared 4 stars are fully consistent, the service is excellent, the price is suitable for most tourists.

3 minutes to the sea, the beach is deserted, a cluster of cafes should be looked for on the neighboring beach. The hotel has everything you need, the food is excellent, especially fish dishes. I recommend booking full board, you definitely won’t regret it. The contingent is calm, mostly pensioners and older people, there are practically no noisy young people.

Cansaulim beach is ideal for a relaxing, family holiday.

Arossim Beach

Arossim is small, but very beautiful and photogenic. The beach is cool, without any fun and tourism infrastructure, I recommend.

As on the previous beaches, Arossim is deserted, there are no sheks or other entertainment here; the closest entertainment can be found in the nearby Grand Goa Resort and Spa (5 stars). The hotel belongs to the luxury segment, so for most tourists the price for accommodation will not be affordable, but in terms of the quality of services, the size of the hotel area and location, the hotel is unrivaled.

A holiday on Arossim beach is suitable for people with incomes and accustomed to high service. The coast in this place is deserted, probably due to the lack of cheap housing; for guests of expensive hotels this is a clear plus, although in their hotels the territory resembles paradise gardens that you have no desire to leave.

Utorda Beach

Hotels and shekis are gradually appearing. The coastal strip in this place is very picturesque, and palm groves contribute walking. Most hotels near Utorda are suitable for a very inexpensive holiday, although for their guests the price does not matter. Clean, expensive, calm, but boring.

The beach is very popular among tourists with high incomes, during New Year holidays All rooms in five-star hotels are sold out. If you want to book a decent room on New Year, then you should do this in advance.

Utorda has several high-quality five-star resorts, this one is one of the best (it’s better to book in advance, available rooms are in short supply). There is no point in talking specifically about this hotel, if you have money, then it will satisfy you 100%, if you don’t have money, then look at the accommodation on the nearby beach.

Utorda Beach is ideal for a relaxing beach holiday, especially if you are not used to saving money on your vacation.

Majorda Beach

There are much more people on Majorda beach, the hotels are a little cheaper and there are also plenty of sheks. Despite the external signs of civilization, Majorda is perfect for quiet doing nothing, there is no fuss here, here you can enjoy the sea, peace and tranquility.

There are many hotels and guesthouses near the beach, but choosing a really good one is difficult, some are located too far from the sea, others raise prices and have bad reviews. If the factor of proximity to the sea is important, then pay attention to this option, the price is reasonable, the sea is 5 minutes away, and most importantly there are many positive reviews.

Holidays on Majorda beach are more affordable in price, but high season It can get quite crowded here. If you are looking for luxury hotels, then choose nearby beaches, they are there.

Betalbatim Beach

Betalbatim is quiet and calm; the presence of the crowded village of Kolva next door does not in any way affect the atmosphere of tranquility of Betalbatim. The sea on this beach is very pleasant, the sand gently burns under your feet, but there is also shade from the pine trees growing on the shore.

The choice of hotels on Betalbatim is very scarce, and the beach itself is not very long, so when planning your vacation you should carefully choose your accommodation.

Pay attention to this map, it shows that the most popular beaches are concentrated in the vicinity of Palolem, many can be reached on foot.

Agonda Beach

Three kilometers of sand and warm sea- this is Agonda. There are few people on Agonda beach, the abundance of sheks and other tourist delights makes you feel very comfortable.

The beach is very affordable both in terms of prices and choice of accommodation; there are standard guesthouses and bungalows that are more popular in these areas. There are a lot of accommodation options, there are very cheap options with a minimum of amenities, there are very decent huts at a slightly overpriced.

If you want to live in the Robinson Crusoe style, then the best option would be this bungalow (an option for wealthy tourists). You will have all the usual amenities (air conditioning, modern plumbing, etc.), and at the same time your house will be located right on the beach (required when booking Front Sea View Hut), and you will take a shower under open air(this is really cool).

A holiday on Agonda beach is suitable for everyone; everyone will find a piece of their Goa here. Thanks to good transport accessibility(buses go to Palolem), abundance of housing (there is something for every taste and budget), more relaxing holiday(not all tourists make it here), Agonda is a direct competitor to Palolem Beach.

Butterfly Beach

The easiest way to get to Butterfly is by water; the beach is small and tourists don’t stay on it for long, although it looks very beautiful. There is no housing, like other tourist delights, on the beach.

Palolem Beach

Palolem Beach has a perfect crescent shape and there are few or no waves in this natural bay. It is for this feature that tourists with small children adore it. They take you to Palolem group excursions, it is worth paying tribute that the beach deserves it.

In the recent past, in these places they didn’t even think about the tourist boom, but the only thing they did was local residents- fishing. Palolem reminds me a lot of Arambol, it has the same relaxed atmosphere, old hippie hangouts and palm groves.

There are plenty of guesthouses, bungalows and small hotels in Palolem, there are no problems with check-in, but I still recommend booking accommodation in advance. Especially during New Year's holidays, because at this time good options may end quickly.

Where to live in Palolem, and how much it costs, read the link.

Holidays on Palolem are not suitable for everyone, because there are no luxury hotels or expensive restaurants here. Choose this beach if you are ready to live in very simple conditions, eat ordinary food, and be prepared for crowds of tourists on the beach.

Colombes Beach

Colombe Beach is very similar to Robinson Crusoe Island, only instead of Friday there are crowds of tourists. This is a very small beach between two rocks on which tiny bungalows huddle.

As I said earlier, the beach is tiny, large hotels not here, but there are modest bungalows for reasonable money. Pay attention to this option, the bungalows are located on a hill, all the surroundings are in full view. Be sure to read the reviews from tourists, they are mostly positive.

A holiday on Colombe Beach is suitable for inveterate romantics who are willing to put up with everyday inconveniences just to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the surf. Housing here is very simple, in fact, it is simply impossible to build anything else here.

Patnem Beach

Patnam is a calmer analogue of Palolem, not as beautiful, not as popular, but very calm. Sheki, bungalows for rent and other benefits of civilization are present in abundance here.

The beach is located at a decent distance from Palolem, so day tourists do not get here, and therefore do not disturb the peace of vacationers. The main type of accommodation is bungalows. Bungalow here on different type and a wallet, from very simple ones made from banana leaves to quite civilized options.

Pay attention to these cozy bungalows, they are located right on the beach, but hidden from the sun in a coconut grove. The only problem is be afraid of falling nuts.

Rajbagh Beach

Rajbagh is perfect for wealthy tourists; on its shore is located one of the most expensive hotels in South Goa - The LaLiT Golf. There are dangerous currents in the sea, so be careful.

The place is very calm and secluded, there is one shek on the beach, which belongs to expensive hotel. The prices in the beach cafe are appropriate, but for the local public they do not seem high.

The beach is not intended for budget holidays, but is excellent for wealthy tourists. One of the features of this beach is its isolation; on the Palolem side it is too far to walk, and on the other side there is a river flowing.

A little south of Rajbagh there are several sparsely populated beaches, which are not so easy to get to, and the lack of infrastructure makes holidays on them very specific. Here are the southernmost beaches of Goa: Talpona, Galjibaga, Polem.

Have a good rest and warm water in the Arabian Sea.
