The Black Sea coast is an incomparable place with a bright southern sun and azure sea, picturesque nature and a favorable healing climate. Well-maintained and clean beaches, water parks and dolphinariums, and a developed health resort base attract millions of tourists here every year.

Coastal Features

The Black Sea coast of Russia stretches from Adler to Taman for more than 400 kilometers. If we add here coastline Crimea peninsula (750 kilometers), it turns out that our country ranks second after Turkey (1,400 km) in terms of the length of the coastal territory of the “inhospitable sea” - as the ancient Greeks called it. Largely thanks to its sandy beaches and shallow sea, since the times of the USSR the city has been considered the center of children's recreation. If we add here mineral water, healing mud and clean air, it will become clear why this area is so popular among vacationers. A large selection of entertainment activities is offered for children and adults. This is an amusement park and a water park, a dolphinarium, an aquarium and a host of other excursions and entertainment.

Resort area Gelendzhik

Gelendzhik is located on the shore of an oval bay, between two capes - Tonkiy and Tolstoy. Behind last years the city seemed to be transformed. The embankment was reconstructed, which has a length of 14 kilometers and is the longest in the world (listed in the Guinness Book of Records). Along its entire length you can admire sculptures and various color compositions, monuments and fountains, views azure sea and numerous trees that create cozy shade in hot, sunny weather. When coming to the Black Sea coast, it is worth visiting the largest water park in Russia, Golden Bay. It, like two other (but smaller) water entertainment complexes “Dolphin” and “Behemoth”, is located in Gelendzhik. It is worth mentioning the cable car leading to the Olympus amusement park, the safari park located on an area of 156 hectares, and much more.

Tuapse district

Bordering on one side with Gelendzhik and on the other with Greater Sochi, the Tuapse region occupies an important place among Russian resorts. The zone, which includes such villages as Dzhubga, Olginka, Nebug, Novomikhailovsky, Agoy, Lermontovo, is located in the mountains and, one might say, is buried in coniferous forests. Here, near the village of Novomikhalovsky, the famous camp "Orlyonok" is located. The Black Sea coast in this place attracts with its alluring beauty and great opportunities to organize active tourist recreation. In the vicinity of Tuapse there are numerous dolmens and other archaeological monuments that are worth visiting. Just like touching wildlife, visiting the caves on a tour and admiring the waterfalls, of which there are many.

Resort city Sochi

It is difficult to imagine the Black Sea coast of Russia without the main resort city of Sochi. It includes Khostinsky, Lazarevsky and Adlersky districts, bordering the Republic of Abkhazia. Also in Soviet times local beaches(along with Crimean ones) were the most popular in the country. And after the 2014 Winter Olympics, the whole world learned about Sochi as well as ski resort. There is a well-developed sanatorium and treatment base with local mineral springs water. The resorts of the Black Sea coast of Russia are each unique in their own way, but only in Sochi, having climbed the mountains in May, you can go skiing on the snow, and having gone down the cable car down, swim in the already warm sea water.
