Better late than never: Eight Moscow beaches. Serebryany Bor

Serebryany Bor is one of several places in Moscow that Muscovites choose for swimming. There are all the conditions for this, and most importantly, swimming on beaches 2 and 3 in Serebryany Bor is officially permitted by the sanitary and epidemiological service. In Moscow, to put it mildly, there are not many such places, you can count them on one hand. This is probably why, in the abnormal heat of the summer of this year (2010), beach No. 3, where we went, was crowded.

On Serebryany Bor beach 3 we decided to go after consulting with friends and reading reviews on the Internet. According to reviews, this was one of the more or less normal beaches in Moscow. You can get to Serebryany Bor from several metro stations: from Shchukinskaya metro station - by tram 28 to the final stop, then on foot across the bridge and from Polezhaevskaya - by any trolleybus (except 43), as well as by minibuses 190 and 20. There is a lot of transport, but, despite this, from the very exit from the metro to the metro station. Polezhaevskaya a queue formed. Moreover, for some reason everyone was trying to get on minibus 190, although there are also 20 and trolleybuses. Mostly in the queue there were students who, perhaps, simply did not have all the information on how to get to Serebryany Bor, although in our age this is hard to believe). For what reason you can stand in the heat in line for a minibus, when there are other ways to get to the right place, I can’t even imagine.

Having bypassed this line, we boarded minibus No. 20 that immediately arrived and drove for 20 minutes in the heat in a crowded minibus. Well, in order to swim, you can make such sacrifices.

Beaches 2 and 3 in Serebryany Bor are relatively close to each other. The first stop is “Serebryany Bor Beach 2”, the next is Beach 3. We wanted to go to the second beach, but the man who was traveling with us in the minibus advised us to go to the third, he said that it was better there. Serebryany Bor 3- This is a free beach. On its territory there were showers and changing rooms, table tennis tables, sun loungers stood on the river bank. People-ooh! Somewhat reminiscent of a seal rookery. It was simply impossible to find a place to lie down. The length of the beach is about a kilometer. It is designed for 1500-2000 h/k. On this day, just such a number of people most likely came here to escape the heat. The only place where it was possible to lie down normally was at the very edge of the beach. But there was a sign saying “No Swimming”. I can’t understand why this is so: there is only one water, and there you can swim, but here, after 15 meters, you can’t. It is unclear what guides the installation of these signs. Perhaps, in addition to the presence of various infectious bacteria in the water, the landscaping of the territory is taken into account. Because There were no sunbeds in this area, which is probably why they put up this prohibitory sign. But you want to swim, you don’t want to go home because of the sign. We settled down under him.

Serebryany Bor beach 3: under the sign "Swimming is prohibited"

The water was excellent, warmed up in such heat. It doesn’t shine with cleanliness, but the bottom of the river, of course, is not sandy, but it will be suitable for “ rural areas"). Somewhere in the middle we rode on jet skis and boats, which were filmed on paid beaches. Some boats drove up to our spot and took everyone who wanted and was willing to pay for it. Alternating between sunbathing and swimming, complementing all this with cool beer, we spent our vacation on the banks of the Moscow River.

People came and went to Serebryany Bor 3. A girl and a guy settled down not far from us. When she began to undress, it turned out that she was not wearing underwear under her jeans. She changed her clothes while sitting right on the shore and joyfully clapped her hands when her butt stopped looming and attracting surprised, mocking, vulgar and other looks. I don’t understand, the girl goes to the beach, she knows that she will undress there. Well, okay, she doesn’t like to wear panties, the flag is in her hands, but one day can we make an exception? Or at least change clothes in the locker room, fortunately there are all the conditions. Isn't it weird to sit with your butt naked in front of everyone?!

Many cute girls passed by with their friends, so guys, go for it!

After lying in the sun all day, tanning and swimming , we got ready to go home. On the beach there were also open-air cages with chickens of different breeds, pheasants and a peacock. Children were running around the enclosures, and their parents were also looking at the beautiful birds with interest.

There was a long queue in the showers, as well as in the locker rooms. The wooden floor in many sections of the locker room was already rotten, and used feminine pads were lying around and hanging on the walls. The girls, apparently, need to carry their personal belongings to the nearest trash can. Damn, is it really that hard? Everyone is guided by the principle “after us there may be a flood.”

Having changed clothes, we went out to bus stop. There were about 100 people like us here. It turned out to be impossible to get on the minibus, because I don’t know where it would stop. If only by chance you happen to be in right place. One woman even reprimanded the driver about this, like you have your own stop, but you slow down anywhere. We had better luck with the trolleybus; we missed the first one, but managed to squeeze into the second one. What does it have to do with it? We didn’t have tickets; we crawled under the turnstile without a twinge of conscience. Not because there was no money, but because I didn’t have to waste time buying tickets. When you have a crowd of nervous swimmers behind you, who have already missed one trolleybus and two minibuses, it is better to crawl under the turnstile, you will be safer. And the driver won’t kick half of the passengers who are as cunning as us out of the trolleybus!?

The trolleybus was packed to capacity, to the point of “I don’t want to.” And although he stopped at other stops, no more people entered it. Those who were relaxing on Serebryany Bor 2 beach were forced to either walk or go to the Serebryany Bor 3 stop. I think this is a good advantage of beach 3 over the second. I don’t know how the conditions are on the second one, it seems, according to reviews, it’s also relatively normal, but at least you can leave the third one).

As it turned out, the trip by trolleybus is much longer than by minibus. He drives slower and stops often. One time we stood there for about 10 minutes for some unknown reason. Someone started a fight on a trolleybus, and some guy got his turnip kicked. The women screamed, the fighters were separated, and at the next stop they all got off. What happened to them beyond history is not known.

In a word, it was an interesting trip. Serebryany Bor 3, of course, up to resort beaches far away, but you can relax and swim normally. There is no such thing that you come out of the water covered in mud, if you arrive early, you can take a sunbed. In general, a normal beach, you can go.

City beaches have begun to look more attractive: there are no longer traffic jams around, and the warm weather, according to weather forecasters, will last in the city for at least two more weeks.

True, the number of permitted swimming areas is constantly decreasing, as is everything that is permitted. At the beginning of summer, Rospotrebnadzor recognized ten reservoirs as suitable for swimming; by mid-summer there were already eight. It ended with the fact that by the beginning of August, only three reservoirs met the requirements of the inspection authorities in Moscow: “Serebryany Bor - 2”, “Serebryany Bor - 3” and the recreation area “Meshcherskoye” (on all the others, meanwhile, you can still play beach volleyball and picnics). The Village correspondent Varvara Gerneza visited Moscow beaches to find out what is happening there now.

Previous photo Next photo

The beaches of Serebryany Bor are a unique opportunity for Muscovites to swim in an ecologically clean area of Moscow. Oddly enough, year after year the water in Serebryany Bor is recognized as suitable for swimming, although one cannot say from it that it is clean. On the shore of beach No. 3 Serebryany Bor there is clean sand, there are sun loungers, there is a children's and volleyball court. Those who like to play table tennis will be happy: there are 10 tables on the territory, and for those who want not to swim, but to rent a watercraft, there is a rental of boats and catamarans.

The only drawback of the beaches of Serebryany Bor is that the whole of Moscow knows about them, and therefore people come to relax here from all over the city - as if this is the only place for swimming in the metropolis and there is no other opportunity to relax.

The road to beach No. 3 Serebryany Bor winds among the pine trees for quite a long time; you have to pass by the dachas of many famous people- and only then will you be able to walk to the shore itself. It’s better to think about what to take with you in advance, since you can’t really count on a picnic on beach No. 3 Serebryany Bor - there are no tents or shops nearby, they all remain near trolleybus stops or the metro.

The best solution would be to run into one of the grocery stores at the station and pick up some fruit or sweets, as well as water, for the trip.

It is worth taking a towel with a bedding with you: usually there are enough people on beach No. 3 Serebryany Bor, designed for a maximum of 2000 people, on hot sunny summer days. This is understandable: tired people after office want to swim.

You need to be careful with the locker rooms: after the Soviet era, it’s unlikely that at least one of them was renovated, as can be judged by the slightly rotten floor boards. There are showers too. The water, of course, is not crystal clear, but it is suitable for swimming.

Getting to beach No. 3 Serebryany Bor is quite simple: from the Shchukinskaya metro station. The Serebryany Bor stop is the final stop for tram 28. Walk across the bridge and you are on the beach. You can also get there from the Polezhaevskaya metro station: almost all trolleybuses (except No. 43) will take you to beach No. 3 Serebryany Bor, and minibuses No. 190 and No. 20 also go there. The return journey will be similar to the storming of the Bastille, if we are talking about roast day, so be careful. The trolleybus moves very slowly.

The Serebryany Bor ecological park is an artificially created island with beaches, centuries-old trees, beautiful lake and a pine forest, in the shade of which it is pleasant to cool off on a hot day. The park is located in the Khoroshevo-Mnevniki area, surrounded by the Moscow River and the Khoroshevskoye Straightening Canal. A bridge stretches across the canal, connecting the park and Marshal Zhukov Avenue.

The total area of Serebryany Bor is 328.6 hectares

Serebryany Bor belongs to the specially protected areas of Moscow, is part of the Moskvoretsky Natural Historical Park and is a natural monument of regional significance.

Accurate data on the origin of the name of the park has not been found, but there are several legends. Some associate the appearance of the word “silver” with the name of the Silver Prince of Moscow, with the mining of silver in the waters of Lake Bottomless, others with silver moss growing in these places, but not a single version has been proven to date. Most likely, everything is much simpler, and the forest is called silver for the sparkling snow and frost that covers the trees and ground in winter. Previously, the road to Zvenigorod passed through the forest. The travelers admired the beauty of the snow cover, and it seemed as if they were passing through a fairy tale kingdom.

In the 17th century, “Silver Forest” was called Pine forest beyond the Moscow River. This forest has been preserved and today is part of the Serebryanoborsky forestry district, but is not part of the modern Serebryany Bor park.

Near the forest area there was the village of Khoroshevo, so the forest was given another name - Khoroshevsky Bor. These territories were royal possessions until the 20th century. In the 17th century, Russian Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich the Quietest loved to hunt falcons here. In the 19th century, in Khoroshevsky Bor there was an artillery park with the 11th Phanagorian Regiment.

In the first half of the 20th century it was built cottage village“Serebryany Bor”, which is also becoming a favorite place for recreation and entertainment for Moscow youth. And in 1937, the territory of the village was separated from

Khoroshevskoye Highway is an artificially created canal, a bridge is being built. In 1991, the park was improved and special recreation areas appeared. At the same time, Serebryany Bor became a monument of regional significance.

What to do in Serebryany Bor in summer

In the summer, it is always noisy and fun here; the beaches are crowded, and volleyball court The hitting of the ball does not subside. What to do in the park in summer? There are more than enough options - swimming in the Moscow River (SES annually monitors the cleanliness of the water), boat trips on the lake, excursions around protected places, eco-picnics and much more.

Veteran Park

Far from the crowds of vacationers, Veteran Park is loved not only by pensioners. Families with children often come here to simply walk among the trees along asphalt paths, sit on benches and enjoy nature.

For a long time, this part of Serebryany Bor was empty, and Muscovites freely had picnics here. Over time, an initiative group of citizens influenced the creation of a landscape park.

On Victory Day, a festive program is traditionally held here; concerts and musical evenings are held at Lemeshevskaya Polyana from April to September.

The entrance to the park is from Tamanskaya Street (near the “Bank of the Moskva River” stop).

Monument “The Combat Path of the 3rd Shock Army”

The combat path of the 3rd Shock Army began from Serebryany Bor. It was here that it was formed in the winter of 1941. The memorial was erected in Veteran Park in honor of the 30th anniversary of the Great Victory. The artist A. A. Andreev designed the monument in the form of a rectangular stele, in the center of which there is a star with a hammer and sickle inside, and on the sides there is a map of the army’s military route and a tablet with historical data. On the holiday of May 9, wreaths and flowers are laid at the stele.

Eco-trail “By Lake Bezdonnoye”

Group excursions are free for everyone. The route follows the eco-trail “Near Lake Bezdonnoye” through centuries-old pine trees, a reed swamp, and enclosures with cranes, herons, and birds of prey. The guide talks about the life of the pond, what mammals are found in the local

reservoirs, about the characteristics of the inhabitants of the forest and much more. In 1.5-2 hours, tourists cover a distance of just over a kilometer. It is better to arrange an excursion in advance by calling 8-499-199-01-10.

observation tower

A tower in Serebryany Bor was installed to observe the life of birds. Visitors to the park can freely climb it and admire the area from above.

It is worth mentioning another attraction located in the vicinity of Serebryany Bor - this Zhivopisny Bridge across Marshal Zhukov Avenue and the Moscow River. The 105-meter-high cable-stayed bridge is visible from any corner of Serebryany Bor. What attracts attention is not so much the brightness and unusualness of the bridge, but the glass capsule at the very top under the arch. It was originally created as Observation deck, but not all points were taken into account for safe operation. Today (2018) the capsule is closed for repairs.

What to do in Serebryany Bor in winter
