A column with various filters will appear on the left. Find the “Payment” filter and select the “Do not require a bank card” option. In our example (Haapsalu, Estonia), there were 19 hotels out of 34 that did not require a card to book.

We select a hotel and proceed to checkout, be sure to fill in your first name, last name, e-mail, phone number, country and city of residence. Additionally, you can enter the name of the second guest (if there is one). This may be required if you need to provide a voucher for a visa.

When you confirm your reservation (the “book” button), you will receive an email with a voucher. You can print it out for your visa. For a hotel, it is not necessary to provide a printed form; an electronic file is quite suitable (the main thing is not to forget to save it to your mobile device).

You can change or cancel your reservation at Hotels Ru via Personal Area=> “My bookings” section => “Orders” tab.

Find the required reservation and click the “Reservation Details” button. A window will open where you can cancel or make changes.

In September 2012, I wrote the first article in the series “How to book a hotel on Booking”, which aroused the greatest interest (to date it has been read almost 300 thousand times) and remains relevant to this day. It talked about how to protect yourself from losing funds on card accounts when canceling a booking on Booking. In short, it was recommended to use one-time virtual cards with a minimum balance for booking, so that, firstly, you would not be charged the cost of your stay before you check in, and, secondly, this manipulation allows you to save money when canceling a reservation, especially when it is paid and you face a fine.

But technology does not stand still.

About a year ago, I discovered information on the foreign Internet that it is not at all necessary to use your own credit cards to make purchases or online reservations; moreover, virtual cards are not needed for this. Now you just need to use a special software code that will generate a credit card number for you.

Over the course of a year, I tested the effectiveness of this system on various booking services for hotels, apartments and apartments (Booking, Agoda, airbnb, etc.) and I can confidently say that the method works 100%.

The bottom line is that each payment system (VISA, MasterCard, etc.) has certain algorithms for constructing a card number. It is this number that is validated in the payment system to determine whether such a card can be issued within a certain payment system, for example, VISA. The remaining block of data - the validity period of the card, the holder's first/last name and the CVV code confirming the transaction - are checked only at the time of the immediate payment, which means they have no bearing on the booking procedure.

This is the basis of the principle of using this method, which will now allow you to book any hotels, apartments, apartments, hostels and other accommodation online on any service (agoda, etc.) without using your own credit/debit card.

There is only one condition for such a reservation - you must make the reservation; services that require instant payment (for example, airbnb) will not accept the software-generated card code, since it has never actually existed in the payment card system.

And then everything is simple. At the beginning of the article, you already noticed the names of payment systems, each of which has its own card number. Each time the page is refreshed, the data is updated and a new card number will be generated.

When making your next reservation, you simply take the generated VISA, MasterCard or other required payment system number from this article and enter it in the payment data section. The remaining data is filled in arbitrarily - you can specify any first/last name of the cardholder, any card validity period within five years from the date on which you use this card and any CVV code.

This is what it looks like when booking a hotel on Booking.

Here the generated VISA credit card is entered and the remaining values are arbitrarily added. And, voila, the reservation was successfully completed, and my money is completely safe - after all, I did not leave any data in the system real cards or bills. In addition, you can save the generated card in your profile and continue to use it for subsequent bookings. And if at some point any hotel validates the card in an attempt to withdraw money and reports that it is not valid, you simply generate new map and put it back into the system - it’s much faster and easier than releasing it virtual card and a hundred times safer than using a real credit card.

You can be sure that your booking is confirmed to all standards using a "valid" card number, but with you will never be charged until you decide that the stay is worth paying for. In addition, you will not lose money if you suddenly forget to cancel your reservation, and it turns out to be subject to penalties, because if you cancel such a reservation, it will simply be impossible to collect a fine, since real payment information is not entered into the system.

It is worth noting that I personally recommend not to abuse the last point (cancellation of a reservation with a fine). If you are no longer going to a particular hotel, make sure to cancel your reservation so that the hotel can sell that room. After all, someone may need it more, and the hotel will not lose money due to idle rooms, which means it will not have a reason to inflate prices for other rooms to compensate for losses.

Otherwise, I recommend this method for use. In our information age, when personal data regularly leaks online, using a card number generator is a great way to protect your funds from any attacks. And yet, it’s simply fast and convenient.

What can you find out about a hotel on its personal Booking page?

First, look at the location of the hotel on the map (if it is important for you to live in a specific area). To do this, click the “View Map” link above the hotel photo.

You can look at all the photos of the hotel - usually there are quite a lot of them, you will see not only the rooms, but also photos of the restaurant, lounge, lounges and gym, and other hotel premises.

Let's go down the page. Immediately below the photo you will find information about the hotel provided to Booking by the owner himself (usually the advantages of the hotel and its advantages over competitors are listed here).

Next is a field where you can enter your travel dates to find out the hotel price. If you already entered them at the very beginning, Booking will automatically fill in this field. And if you left the “dates” field empty, now is the time to fill them out, because otherwise you will not be able to see the description of the rooms. Be sure to click “check availability” so Booking can show you the rooms available at the hotel during this period.

Under the dates there is a field with additional filters to exclude rooms that obviously will not suit you (for example, you only need a double bed in the room; if you select this filter, Booking will remove rooms with single beds from the list).

So, you have decided on a hotel, weighed the pros and cons, studied the room description and are ready to make a choice. It's time to click on the “I book” button, which is located opposite the hotel room description.

After going to the booking page, you need to fill in the details to make your reservation on Booking.com.

The first window is intended for entering information about the owner of the reservation: using this data, the Booking team and hotel staff will know how to contact you and where to send the reservation confirmation. The first and last name must be written in Latin letters, since hotel staff may not know Russian.

The second window is information about hotel guests. Important! In the “guest's first and last name” field, names must be entered in strict accordance with their spelling in the passport. If in the future you plan to provide this reservation to consular services for visa processing, you should indicate all the people who will live in this room.

In the third window, you can enter your wishes for the room (number of floors, south or north side, and so on - the hotel does not guarantee compliance with these wishes, but will take them into account if possible. Here you can also enter your arrival time, if you already know it - the staff will know exactly what time your room should be ready.

Click the “continue” button

Add a little more information about yourself (emergency phone number and method of communication with you). If you check the box “I want to receive a reservation without printouts”, you will receive an SMS from Booking.com with a confirmation link to your phone. Why do you need to enter your bank card number on Booking?

If you are booking a room that requires immediate payment, please bring a card with sufficient funds - the money will be debited from the card upon completion of the booking

How does payment work on Booking?

Technically, the procedure for withdrawing money from your card looks like this.

Once your booking is complete, the hotel sends a request to your bank via Booking.com to withdraw funds from your card. If at the time of application there is not enough money on your card, the bank rejects this application, the hotel reports to Booking that payment has not been received, and your reservation is cancelled. Booking.com will definitely send you a notification about the lack of payment and cancellation.

Some banks may refuse to withdraw funds, even if there is money on the card, but there is no special permission from the owner (that is, you) to write it off. It all depends on the bank’s internal regulations and the terms of service for your card account - check with the bank whether such an operation is possible with your card.
