Depending on the route, Emirates sets free baggage allowance based on either its weight or the number of pieces. This is consistent with international regulations.

Economy Class passengers can carry up to 35 kg of baggage (depending on the fare type). Business Class passengers can take 40 kg of luggage on a flight, and First Class passengers can take up to 50 kg of luggage.

Allows free transportation of not only hand luggage, but also checked luggage. However, you should familiarize yourself with the rules for transporting it in advance to avoid unpleasant surprises.

Hand luggage

Carry-on baggage requirements vary depending on the class of travel. Thus, economy class passengers can take on board 1 piece of hand luggage, the dimensions of which do not exceed 55 x 38 x 20 cm, and the maximum weight is 7 kg. It is not possible to carry a laptop bag separately.

The rules are different for first class and business class. It is assumed that you can take 2 pieces of hand luggage on board. One of them is a bag or suitcase, the maximum permissible parameters of which are 45 x 35 x 20 cm. In addition to it, you are allowed to take either a bag with parameters 55 x 38 x 20 cm, or a bag whose thickness does not exceed 20 cm when folded . The weight of each unit cannot exceed 7 kg.

In addition, all three classes offer the ability to bring on board sealed duty-free bags containing alcohol, cigarettes or perfume “in reasonable quantities,” the airline notes. In this case, the golden rule is the less the better, especially given the new restrictions on the transport of any liquids recently introduced by a number of countries, for example, Russia and Uzbekistan. Many countries have their own requirements for this item. If you have questions regarding the transportation of liquids and baggage in general, it is better to clarify the information with the carrier’s representatives so as not to get into trouble at the airport. Otherwise, you should be guided by standard safety requirements: a maximum of 1 liter of liquids, packaged in 100-milliliter bottles.

If you are traveling with a baby (child under 2 years of age), then, regardless of the class, you can bring a bag with baby food and other items into the cabin. necessary supplies for child care, the maximum weight of which is 5 kg. Also, if there is enough space in the cabin, you can transport a folded stroller or a baby crib with handles. If there is not enough space, both items can be checked into the luggage compartment.

LowCost Tip: Since rolling bags are very popular, please note that you can carry them as hand luggage only if the sum of the dimensions is less than 114 cm.

Checked baggage

Checked baggage allowances vary depending on the route, as well as the specific destination. Since there is great amount rules and subtleties, which are simply impossible to list in one note, we recommend using the baggage calculator on the Emirates website, which will calculate the baggage allowance taking into account all the flight data. On average, economy class passengers can carry up to 30 kg, business class – up to 40 kg, and first class – up to 50 kg. Thus, Emirates can be considered one of the most generous airlines when it comes to baggage. Do not forget, however, that when flying through Dubai, 1 piece of luggage can weigh a maximum of 32 kg.

Exceptions may be made for passengers traveling with infants. Thus, it is allowed to carry either one additional piece of baggage, regardless of class, the weight of which does not exceed 23 kg, and the sum of the parameters is 115 cm, or an additional 10 kg of baggage.

LowCost Tip: If you plan to fly connecting with any other airline, we strongly recommend checking its baggage requirements.
