For example, there festival guests will see a model of the deep-sea research vehicle "Mir", created in Moscow by scientist Igor Mikhaltsev, a papyrus boat "Ra-2", on which the famous Soviet television journalist Yuri Senkevich traveled, as well as a large globe with a small dot on it - Moscow.

A festival zone dedicated to art has been organized from Bryusov to Kamergersky Lane. They will set up a real film set there with a film camera, scenery and spotlights. And next to it there will be a dressing room with makeup artists, stylists and make-up artists who will help Muscovites transform into real movie heroes. Near Kamergersky Lane, the legendary transforming scenery for the play “The Magnanimous Cuckold,” staged by Vsevolod Meyerhold in 1922, will be recreated.

For City Day, a ten-meter climbing wall in the form of the Moscow City towers will be built on this site. The concept was based on original textile patterns created by Soviet artists Lyubov Popova and Varvara Stepanova in 1923-1924. This weekend Moscow celebrates its 870th anniversary. Festive events are planned at more than 300 venues. Mos.ru tells how public transport will work in the coming days and which streets will be closed to drivers, mos.ru reports.

The City Day celebration will take place on September 9 and 10. Residents can enjoy free excursions and exhibitions, concerts, performances by street performers, various competitions, sports entertainment and fireworks. To make the rest of the citizens even more comfortable, some streets of the capital were made pedestrian and the operation of public transport was changed.

Metro and MCC

The Metropolitan and the Moscow Central Circle (MCC) will switch to round-the-clock operation. On the night of September 9-10, metro passengers will be transported by an additional 658 pairs of trains.

The traffic interval will be from four to 10 minutes, depending on the load on the lines. Passengers will have to wait the least for trains on Sokolnicheskaya, Koltsevaya and Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya; the longest breaks are expected on the Kievskaya - Mezhdunarodnaya section, as well as on the Kakhovskaya and Solntsevskaya lines.

The Moscow Central Circle will operate on a weekend schedule these days. From 12:30 to 18:00, the traffic interval on the ring will be five minutes during peak hours, after 18:00 - 10 minutes. On the night of September 10, an additional 23 pairs of trains will leave the MCC.
