Modern SPA centers can often be found in any city. Such salons are ready to offer their clients a fairly wide list of various procedures and services that have not only cosmetic, but also medicinal qualities. But nothing compares to a spa at the Dead Sea. And here the reason is not only in the qualifications of doctors and staff, the quality of the products used in the procedures, but also in the very climate of this paradise Earth, its life-giving air, healing water and mud.

It was impossible to visit Israel and not come to the Dead Sea, so we immediately booked a one-day excursion from Netanya. The drive is not long, since Israel is not a big country, and you can drive through the entire country by car in just 7 hours.

The Dead Sea is considered the lowest point of land on the planet - 427 meters from sea level. As we were told, the Dead Sea is gradually disappearing. This occurs due to the displacement of tectonic plates, as well as the use of water from it in agriculture. Projects are now being developed to transfer water from the Red Sea to the Dead Sea, but environmentalists claim that this will disrupt the natural microflora of the sea (it still contains special types of bacteria that can easily survive in such an aggressive environment).

They brought us to a small spa complex in the desert . This spa complex included changing rooms, showers, a toilet, a swimming pool with hydrogen sulfide water, a large hall with tables, and a shop with Dead Sea cosmetics.

You could also buy towels, slippers, and other bath accessories there, so if you forgot something, it didn’t matter. They also sold ice cream and cocktails. There was a dining room on the ground floor. On the street there was a large swimming pool and a small area with sun loungers, a little further away there was a path to a vat with healing mud, there was also a shower with hydrogen sulfide and a shower with ordinary water.

It’s about 1 kilometer on foot to the sea, so we were transported in trailers attached to a tractor The lockers were paid, the key could be purchased for 10 shekels and, in my opinion, a deposit of 25 dollars.

Rules for conducting procedures

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

  • The first thing you need to do is take a swim in swimming pool with hydrogen sulfide water . As a rule, you can stay in it for no more than 15 minutes. There are contraindications; for those with cancer and pregnant women, they are not recommended to enter the pool.

But, as practice has shown, you can’t sit in this pool for more than 15 minutes, because the smell is simply killer. I barely lasted 10 minutes. The pool is not deep, you could lie quietly in the water on your stomach or back and not drown, the water held you.

  • After the pool we went to rinse off in the shower. After a hydrogen sulfide pool it is recommended.

  • Then we went to swim in a regular pool while there were few people. The pool was large but not deep.

  • But people began to increase in the pool and we let's go get muddy. Mud should not be applied to the face, areas under the knees and armpits. It is also not allowed to be in the mud for more than 15 minutes, and it is better not to be in the sun. Fortunately, she escaped easily, and after everything we decided to walk to dead sea, it's not too hot yet.

Walk to the sea

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

We walked for about 15 - 20 minutes at a walking pace. When we arrived at the beach, all the sunbeds near the water were occupied. I had to stay further away; it was inconvenient to keep an eye on things. At sea, again, the 15-minute rule applies. But, in my opinion, no one followed it.

There was also a canopy in the water itself and it was possible to hide from the scorching sun without getting out of the water, but there were a lot of people there and we didn’t dare go there. Luckily we had hats on.

On the shore you could also smear yourself with mud, and there was a shower with regular water . Soon there were more people and we thought that it was impossible to take good photographs in this place.

  • Firstly, a lot of people got into the frame
  • Secondly due to the popularity of this place, the water already seemed dirty and gray , so I had to walk a little further along the shore.

Finally secluded from the crowd, more clean beach and the water was blue.

By the way, the beach consists entirely of salt, of course, you can’t go far without slippers! We took some photos and then decided to stay here and swim a little.

Even someone who doesn’t know how to swim at all won’t drown in this place! On the contrary, it's hard when you're on greater depth, get to your feet because the water is completely pushing out)

By the way, completely It's better not to swim too far , at the border where the blue water ends and then the darker blue water, a current begins there, and this is dangerous.

We just came closer to look, but didn’t go there because we didn’t know what was there, and then on the way back the guide told us about the current.

After swimming, we decided to return to the complex, since it was already starting to get hot, and we decided to take sunbeds while there were free ones. We already went back in trailers.

Dinner

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Then it came Dinner time. Fortunately, there were air conditioners throughout the entire complex, including the dining room, so this was a lifesaver, since by this time it was starting to get hot outside! After lunch we still had 2.5 hours left, we were supposed to be picked up at 16:00. And we had no choice but to lie in the shade on the sun loungers, because the pool was crowded. It was hard to go to the sea again in such heat.

These hours dragged on for a long time, and we considered that they were even unnecessary; we could have finished the excursion right after lunch.

Conclusion

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

It would have been much better if the bus had picked us up 1.5 - 2 hours earlier, since it was already hot and we wouldn’t have gotten into a traffic jam on the way back; in the end, we returned to the hotel at 8 o’clock and it was already dark.

Regarding cosmetics , it is better not to buy products in local stores, as the prices are inflated; the same products can be bought much cheaper in regular cosmetics stores in local cities!

A little about miraculous properties. Back at home, my neck was blown under the air conditioner, and it did not turn to the right side, and it was painful to tilt it back. And literally the next day after the trip to the Dead Sea, I suddenly noticed that my neck no longer hurt, and it turned in all directions calmly. I don’t know what effect it had - dirt, hydrogen sulfide or Dead Sea salt, but that’s how it helped!

The Dead Sea is the largest natural health resort, one of the true wonders of the world and unique place for relax. A place with an amazing natural landscape where the sun shines almost all year round. A unique reservoir of its kind, located 400 meters below sea level, with waters and mud rich in minerals, whose healing and cosmetic properties have been known throughout the world since ancient times.

Almost all hotels located on the shores of the Dead Sea offer their guests a wide variety of spa treatments, from classic massage to the most the latest developments for face and body care. While relaxing at the Dead Sea, you can purchase one or two treatments “to try” or order a whole range of spa services.

Today, relaxing spa treatments such as massage, reflexology and aromatherapy are very popular. In addition, the Dead Sea air itself, with a high concentration of bromine, is a natural sedative, which, in combination with harmonizing procedures, has a powerful effect in improving physical and mental health and increasing vitality.

No less popular procedures for nutrition and skin health are various peelings and wraps. Unique Dead Sea mud, a natural “paste” rich in minerals, promotes rejuvenation and deep nourishment of the skin, and also has antibacterial properties.

Many hotels offer special spa treatments to their guests, such as the Romantic Candlelit Couples Treatment, which includes a hot oil massage followed by a soak in the Jacuzzi with a bottle of selected wine.

Before starting any procedure, you can always take advantage of the amenities offered by almost all hotel spas: seawater swimming pools, jacuzzi and saunas, and the highly qualified staff of spa centers will be happy to help you choose the most suitable procedures for you.

In addition, in addition to the pronounced cosmetic result, almost all procedures using Dead Sea water and mud have a profound healing effect on the entire body as a whole. An effect that is especially pronounced in the treatment of dermatological, respiratory and ophthalmological diseases, in relieving pain in joints and muscles. In addition, the high magnesium content in the water and air of the Dead Sea helps improve heart function.

And most importantly, this “natural” treatment is recognized as safe for people of all age groups, including children and pregnant women.

Spend your holiday in a unique atmosphere of relaxation and tranquility, enjoying all the gifts of the Dead Sea!
