Beaches

The beaches of Pattaya are not considered the best in the world - the water is often cloudy and dirty. The resort's beaches will not appeal to connoisseurs of clear, emerald-colored water. Cleanliness coastline too little attention is paid, so you can always find some garbage here. Local residents' boats are moored near the shore, and as a result, oil circles can be seen on the surface of the water. It is worth noting that on the outskirts of the city the situation is more cordial.

On all beaches you can ride banana boats, water ski, or fly with a parachute over the sea. But go diving or surfing on Pattaya beaches will not work.

The resort's public transport is tuk-tuk. A tuk tuk is a brightly colored truck equipped to carry passengers. To avoid misunderstandings, be sure to check the fare with the driver before the start of your trip, and not at the place of arrival. The fact is that a tuk-tuk can be either public transport or an individual taxi, depending on what you agree on with the driver.

In addition to tuk-tuk, you can use a taxi service by car or motorbike. In tourist areas, taxi drivers work around the clock. The largest concentration of taxis and tuk-tuks can be seen daily along the coastline and, of course, near Walking Street.

Going on holiday to new country, a tourist is always visited by a slight feeling of fear, especially if there is no knowledge of the language and no travel experience. “What should I do if I get lost? How to find a hotel? A map of the tourist’s holiday area can give a feeling of confidence in walking. In the article you will find detailed maps of Pattaya and its areas.

Theoretically, Pattaya is not big resort. In the very first days you will adapt and be able to find your way to the hotel without a map. But nevertheless, we invite you to familiarize yourself with the general map of the resort:

As you can see on the map, most of the resort faces the sea. By district, the city can be divided into the center - beach and second streets; Northern part- the tourist area with hotels ends exactly as shown on the map; South part- is divided into Buddha Hill, shown on the map, and continues far south for about another 15 km.

City center
Pattaya

In the central part there is large quantity hotels. On the one hand, residents of the center are lucky - the infrastructure for tourists is the most developed here. You don't have to take a taxi, everything is located in walking distance - shopping centers, markets, restaurants, cafes, Walking street - red light street, etc. On the other hand, the sea here is the most unsightly in the resort (see article Top hotels and Pattaya beaches)

The beach street faces the sea and has one-way traffic from north to south. The second street runs parallel to the beach street - but one-way traffic flows in the opposite direction - from south to north. Between the two main streets are small jays - streets in Thai.

Also in the center, at the end of Walking Street, there is a pier from which ferries depart to the nearest island of Koh Larn. Ticket price is 30 baht, ferry schedule can be found on the map.

South - Buddha Hill and Jomtien Beach

If you look at the general map of Pattaya, Buddha Hill is located closer to the center, and the Jomtien coast stretches further south - all this is southern Pattaya.

Among tourists there are a lot of fans of Buddha Hill for holidays in Pattaya. Fairly clean sea, wide beach line, prestigious quiet place, not far from the center. It is still not possible to reach the center on foot; shuttle transport for tourists can be provided by the hotel. Otherwise, taxis are available to tourists.

Buddha Hill smoothly merges into the Jomtien coastline; theoretically, it can also be divided into 2 parts - in the city and outside the city. The part of the city that runs along Jomtien Beach Street is located. Outside the city, this is the one that does not have a road along the coast. Conventionally, on the map a little further than the Sigma Hotel.

Tourists from hotels in Jomtien located in the city can use tuk-tuks running along the first beach street of Jomtien to the center. The fare is 10 baht per person (price may change upon arrival). But tourists living outside the city, unfortunately, will not be able to use route tuk-tuks, only a taxi or a bus shuttle from the hotel. But in the south of Pattaya there is the cleanest sea and a quiet and serene holiday.

North Pattaya - Naklua

The northern part of the resorts is called Naklua. This is a fairly prestigious part of the city; many 5* hotels are located here. If you are staying in a hotel on the seashore and want to go shopping in the center, you will have to take a taxi from the hotel. If you want to save money, you can walk to Naklua Street, wait for a tuk-tuk route and take it to the center. The tourist area of the northern part ends at the Garden Hotel Sea View, further north along the coast there are practically no hotels, a fishing village begins. The northern hotel “Cholchan” is the farthest from the center and is located on the outskirts of Pattaya.

When returning to your hotels in the evening, you can always use the business card you took from the hotel in advance. This will save you from unnecessary explanations with the driver and using the card. Although, undoubtedly, a few days after your arrival, you will no longer need the card!

Welcome to Thailand!
