Holidays in the United Arab Emirates: useful information and features of the holiday. When and where to go on holiday in the UAE? Review of the best resorts

Once upon a time, only wealthy tourists could afford a trip to the UAE. IN last years tours to the UAE have become very popular and quite affordable. And simplification visa regime for Russians (a visa can now be obtained directly at the airport of this country upon arrival) has become an additional incentive to travel to the Emirates.

At the same time, many tourists have a question: where is the best place to go to the UAE? The answer to this question depends on the purpose of your trip.

If you have never been to the country of the most expensive hotels, the tallest skyscrapers, the coolest water parks and the most unstoppable shopping, read this article. And then you will understand where it is better to go to the UAE with a child, which resorts and hotels to choose for a beach holiday, and where to go for unbridled shopping.

Where to go in the UAE and what to do there

As you know, the UAE consists of several emirates, which have their own characteristics: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Fujairah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah.

All of them are of interest to tourists, each has its own zest. But what some tourists will like may be an unpleasant surprise for others.

For example, the prohibition law in force in Sharjah prohibits the serving of alcohol in hotels and the sale of alcohol in shops. Even tourists. Not even Muslims.

Do you like all-inclusive holidays? Great! There are such hotels in Fujairah. And they are all located almost right on the beach. Only there will be nowhere to go for a walk outside the hotel premises.

So, let's figure out all these emirates.

Abu Dhabi: a green city

So, Abu Dhabi is the capital of the UAE. By all accounts, this is a very interesting holiday option. Firstly, in my memory Abu Dhabi remained very green, compared to Dubai, and, secondly, more calm and measured.

There are many good hotels to stay in Abu Dhabi. And the most famous of them is Emirates Palace 5*, which reminded me of the Hermitage - with its size and interiors.

I can also recommend the following hotels: InterContinental Abu Dhabi 5*, Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana 5*, Al Raha Beach Hotel 5* , Beach Rotana Hotel & Towers 5*, Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort 5*, Le Meridien Abu Dhabi 4*.

From inexpensive options: Al Ain Rotana 5*, Golden Tulip Al Jazira Hotel & Resort 5*, Grand Millennium Al Wahda 5*, Corniche Hotel Abu Dhabi 5*, Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi 5*.

Perhaps, the best hotels now hotels are for tourists on Yas Island, which is an artificial island and was built relatively recently - in 2009. Because it has the best beaches.

See these hotels here: Radisson Blu Hotel Abu Dhabi Yas Island 5* Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi 5*, Yas Island Rotana Abu Dhabi 4*.

And that's where the famous Formula 1 Grand Prix race track and the largest indoor theme park Ferrari .

The Yas Waterworld complex is also located on Yas Island. On an area of 15 hectares, there are 43 attractions, slides and entertainment that will not leave anyone indifferent.

Another attraction of the UAE, the most great mosqueSheikh Zayed Mosque - also located in Abu Dhabi.

So, there is definitely something to do and see in Abu Dhabi.

Mom, I'm in Dubai!

The Emirate of Dubai is the most visited emirate by Russians. This is where many tourists fly to shop and look at the incredible architecture. When our plane approached Dubai airport, it seemed to me that we had arrived on another planet - the view from the window was so amazing!

The Burj Al Arab sail hotel, which received a 7-star category and became business card UAE, located in Dubai. Like the hotel Atlantis The Palm 5 * , located on an artificial artificial island in the shape of a giant palm tree.

And of course, famous tower Burj Khalifa - a skyscraper with a height of 828 meters, the tallest building in the world! Climb to its observation deck and you will see a truly fantastic sight!

And the fountain show below, near the tower, which takes place in the evenings, will be the final chord in your Dubai sightseeing program. After which you can safely move on to shopping!

And you won’t have any problems with shopping in Dubai - in terms of the number of shopping centers, it is ahead of all other emirates combined. Each of these shopping centers is a small microworld that has everything: shops and restaurants of all kinds, beauty salons, cinema halls, aquariums, children's attractions and even ski slope and a tubing track! You can spend every day in a new mall.

For a beach holiday, Dubai is also quite suitable. If funds allow, book yourself one of the hotels in Jumeirah or Palma.

If not, take a city hotel in Bar Dubai or Deire . They do not have their own beaches, but there are two famous ones for swimming on the coast of Dubai beach complex, which are used by vacationers in most city hotels - Al Mamzar Park And Jumeirah Beach Park. Most city hotels in Dubai offer a free (less often paid) transfer to these beaches.

Sharjah

Dubai's closest neighbor is the emirate of Sharjah. This emirate also has its own airport, and many charter flights from Russia they fly to Sharjah airport.

What you might like holiday in Sharjah ? Advantages of this emirate:

  • Quick access to the infrastructure and attractions of the Emirate of Dubai
  • Holiday prices in Sharjah are generally 30% lower than similar hotel prices in Dubai
  • Sharjah beaches with imported white or local yellow sand are clean, safe and great for families with children
  • Sharjah has a large selection of hotels with direct access to the beach

Beach hotels here are cheaper than in Dubai, but they are not as luxurious, sometimes quite modest.

Some good ones we can recommend are: Hilton Sharjah 5*, Coral Beach Resort Sharjah 4*, Lavender Hotel Sharjah 4* , Lou Lou'a Beach Resort 3*, Al Seef Beach Hotel 3*, Beach Hotel Sharjah 3*, Sharjah Premiere Hotel & Resort 3*, Citymax Sharjah 3*, Verona Resort Sharjah 3* .

Sharjah has its own shopping centers, and the ones in Dubai are just a stone's throw away. The only thing that lovers of having a blast should remember is that there is a “prohibition” law in this Emirate. You can't even appear on the streets here while intoxicated, let alone in public places.

Ajman

Modest and calm Ajman is located just 10 km from Sharjah.

Its territory is the smallest of all seven regions of the country. But there is no “prohibition” in Ajman. Opposite, in the Hole in the wall store, next to the hotel Ajman Beach, sell imported alcoholic beverages without any restrictions. True, exporting them from the territory of the Principality of Ajman is strictly prohibited.

Ajman's small size is more than compensated by its nature: beautiful palm trees, snow-white beaches and an atmosphere of comfort and friendliness. When the cool weather descends on the city, entire families flock to the embankment to barbecue on the soft sand, under palm trees, or on special white tables with blue picnic umbrellas.

Tourist infrastructure began to develop here not so long ago, but good hotels there is, and for relaxing holiday everything is in them.

We can recommend the following hotels: Ajman Hotel 5*, Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel 5* , Fairmont Ajman 5*, Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman 4*, Ramada Beach Hotel 4*, Ajman Saray A Luxury Collection Resort 4*, Radisson Blu Hotel Ajman 5*.

Umm Al Quwain

Umm Al Quwain is an even quieter and more provincial emirate, 34 km north of Ajman, and 50 km from Dubai, perfect for a relaxing holiday. Our tourists already love it for its good price/quality ratio.

In the emirate of Umm al Quwain, old traditions and way of life are preserved to this day. Here you can see the life of this country without the glamorous touch.

Umm Al Quwain is true paradise for fishing lovers. Beautiful beaches and lagoons, historical and architectural monuments are complemented by the Dreamland amusement park and quiet clean beaches. In addition, there are spectacular camel racing .

The emirate has a Marine Club with windsurfing, water skiing, sailing, etc.

The choice of hotels is still small, but they are inexpensive and quite decent: Umm Al Quwain Beach 4*, Bin Majid Flamingo 3*, Palma Beach Resort & Spa 4*.

Ras Al Khaimah

Ras Al Khaimah, the northernmost of the seven emirates, has abundant greenery and is therefore considered one of the... most beautiful places for holidays in the UAE. The favorable climate and fertile soils made it a real blooming oasis on the border of the mountains, close to the seashore. Tourists with children will be very pleased Iceland WaterPark which was built built in 2010. Also, travelers will have a truly unforgettable adventure - a flight on a light sports aircraft or an aerochute.

Perhaps Ras Al Khaimah is the best price offer for a beach holiday in the UAE. There are magnificent beaches and a decent hotel base - from 3 to 5 stars. Of those that our tourists have already loved, I would like to note Hilton Al Hamra Beach & Golf Resort 5* , Bin Majid Beach Hotel 4*.

In my opinion, the Ras Al Khaimah region is ideal for family vacation with kids.

Fujairah

Now we have reached the last emirate - Fujairah. It is located farthest from Dubai airport, on the coast Indian Ocean, in the Gulf of Oman.

Fujairah is most loved by supporters of a relaxing beach holiday. And for those who are interested in diving, this is simply paradise.

There are no simple hotels in Fujairah - there are only luxurious “five” hotels, several of them operate on the “all inclusive” system. And this is quite reasonable, because... You won’t be able to go outside the hotel territory and buy something - there are no shops or restaurants here. There is almost no tourist infrastructure outside the hotel.

Hotels in Fujairah: Radisson Blu Resort Fujairah 5*, Miramar Al Aqah Beach Resort 5*, Fujairah Rotana Resort & Spa - Al Aqah Beach 5*, Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort 5*, Fairmont Fujairah Beach Resort 5*, Oceanic Khorfakkan Resort & Spa 4*.

Another pride of Fujairah is Ain Al Ghamour hot springs , formed due to a volcanic eruption. Due to the constant movement of sulfur, the springs always remain hot. average temperature the source is about 60 degrees Celsius and never drops below 40 degrees. Water is rich in various useful chemical elements. Every year people come here who want to cure their musculoskeletal system and skin diseases.

This is how different they are, these United Arab Emirates. Now that you know what is interesting about each emirate, you can easily select and book hotels for your holiday in the UAE: Pick up inexpensive tour in the UAE

Visit the center of the UAE - delightful and fashionable Dubai. You won't be disappointed in any case!

The United Arab Emirates captivates with the unique unity of the traditional Arab way of life, European service and the sharp contrast between major cities and harsh desert terrain. However, before you go on a tour, it is better to decide on the best place to relax and how to save money in the UAE. It is better to choose an emirate based on personal preferences. If necessary, a tourist can always change the noisy and crowded Dubai to the calm and patriarchal Sharjah.

Abu Dhabi

Political and federal center The country is known for its grandiose business deals. No less, it, as well as the nearby YaS Island, is famous as a holiday destination for guests of the country. Respectability and variety of leisure places, this is how tourists briefly describe their stay in this emirate. The theme park of Italian supercars Ferrari is available to vacationers, which not only hosts one of the Grand Prix, but also many attractions that allow you to drive these famous cars. In addition, those interested in the history of this brand can visit the museum, which displays all the cars created since the 50s of the 20th century.

Ferrari Park in Abu Dhabi

Interesting places for a family holiday will be both the beaches on Yas Island and one of the best zoos in the world, with children's animation and special entertainment for young visitors. Well-equipped city beaches, including separate ones for men and women, are not suitable for married couples who do not want to be separated. Therefore, Yas Island is better suited for a beach holiday, to which various ships depart at short intervals.

Taking an evening promenade along the Carniche embankment or climbing the Eye of the Emirates Ferris wheel, visiting shopping centers and nightclubs, staying in hotels with exorbitant prices hotel rooms and with the same luxury, you will not only smell the big money everywhere that permeates everything around you, but you will also feel like a real sheikh.

Dubai

Many people, both locals and tourists, call this emirate an island of the Western world surrounded by Muslim traditions. Never tired of surprising holidaymakers, this emirate has become a Mecca for both shopping lovers and entertainment seekers. Shopping enthusiasts are provided with a free shuttle that picks up shopaholics from the hotel and heads along a route that includes the city's largest shopping malls.

Burj Khalifa in Dubai

For those wishing to splash in the warm waters of the Persian Gulf and soak up the Middle Eastern sun, the Marina area is at your service, with its beach parks, which provide everything for a comfortable stay and plenty of entertainment for children and parents. But if you like quiet beach holiday, then change the warm sand on Friday and Saturday and find another place for leisure. These weekends, all beaches without exception are crowded due to official holidays.

Sharjah

For vacationers who are less wasteful and more relaxed in manners and preferences, the emirate of Sharjah opens its doors. Due to the smaller size and popularity of this part of the United Emirates among guests of the country, the cost of living, especially if you stay in a hotel on the first or second line, is significantly lower than in neighboring Dubai.

In addition, the emirate is famous for its strict behavior and adherence to Muslim traditions, less entertainment, but greater comfort and patriarchal sedateness in the environment. If you get tired of taking a break from the crowd and want to shake things up, then any taxi or bus will take you to the center of entertainment created by the Arabs in just twenty minutes.

Ajman

This emirate is more loyal to drinkers, but most of all it is suitable for people who want to get acquainted with the past of this Middle Eastern country. Locals preserve the memory of their past through stories and share their history with visitors from other countries in museums. The exhibitions feature ancient artifacts that testify to rich history and collections of ancient weapons with which the ancestors of modern Arabs defended their independence and defended their own honor.

In addition to museums, the emirate of Ajman is known for its friendliness local residents and the atmosphere of hospitality they created. These terrain features fully compensate for the lack of metropolitan glamour, shopping bustle and skyscrapers, which are located in the more popular holiday destinations in the Emirates.

Located in the northern part of the country, this emirate will become optimal choice for people sensitive to heat or dry air. Average annual temperature and the air dryness in this area is lower than in other emirates. Since this part of the country appears relatively little in the offers of travel agencies, there is the most optimal balance between the cost of accommodation and entertainment and their quality and variety. It is in this emirate that there are villas of local rich people who chose the area not for advertising purposes. Located on the territory of the emirate, they are ready to offer the concept of All inclusive service to foreigners vacationing there.

Despite its little popularity among vacationers, in terms of the number of various entertainments, Ras al Khaimah can compete with the more “European” Dubai and fashionable Abu Dhabi. Hiking in mountainous areas for lovers of “harsh” recreation, diving for fans extreme sports, cultural monuments who are the same age Ancient Egypt for history buffs and visits to local villages for lovers Arabic culture, delicious gourmet dishes and much more the emirate is ready to offer its guests. In addition to entertainment, people come here to improve their health in the hot mineral springs of the emirate.

Fujairah

This youngest emirate among the rest is also not ignored by guests from other countries. Its protection from the hot desert winds and the 90-kilometer coastline, turned into a continuous beach with gentle days, create all the conditions for a comfortable family holiday on the beach. The entertainment offered by the locals is influenced by their traditional occupation and landscape, as they are known as the most skilled fishermen among the inhabitants of the entire United Emirates.

In addition to diving, where divers will find almost ideal conditions for exploring the diversity of the underwater world, vacationers can take part in fishing or night crabbing. The prey they catch can be served on the table at the slightest hint. An alternative to a beach holiday is a visit to Ain Al Madhab Gardens, Ain Al Ghamour Hot Springs or Al Wurrayah Waterfalls.

Umm Al Quwain

The most modest emirate in size is also ready to receive guests. The cleanliness and size of the beaches will delight people who come with the whole family, endless groves of date palms will give a relaxed holiday in the Arabian style, and colorful sand dunes will refute the stereotype about the “boring” and monotony of the desert. In addition to admiring the surroundings, you will be offered a visit to the Dreamland water park, the local dolphinarium, or a ride on another traditional Arab “transport” - horses.

The small number of foreigners is explained by the little attention that residents of the emirate pay to advertising the area as a holiday destination. The tourism infrastructure here is rather developing, but this does not mean worse conditions for recreation. Situated between the commercial and bustling Dubai and the official and fashionable Abu Dhabi, this emirate guarantees the same level of comfort as in more famous tourist destinations. In addition, the tiny size of the emirate itself and its favorable location will allow you to visit any of the emirates within a few minutes if necessary.

The variety of entertainment venues, Arabian imagination and ingenuity, as well as the rapid growth and development of the country make it impossible to give an unambiguous answer to the question of where is the best place to vacation in the UAE. Each of the guests of this Middle Eastern country will find his own corner in which he will forget about the worries that previously accompanied him and plunge into a world of calm and tranquility. Come to the United Arab Emirates and find a place where you will return more than once.

Since then, with oil and trade revenues, Dubai has built the largest artificial harbor in Jebel Ali, the most high building the world, the largest fountains, the largest and dozens of smaller shopping centers, hundreds of skyscrapers and luxury hotels, dozens of parks and entertainment facilities. Naturally, all these objects were built not by Arab citizens, but by visiting workers from different countries.

Who will you meet in Dubai - population

The population of the UAE is 10 million people, of which only just over a million (10%) are citizens. The remaining 90% are migrant workers from India, Pakistan, Malaysia and other countries. Read our article “”.

In Dubai, the percentage of citizens is even smaller - about 5%. Indians are the most numerous here; tourists most often meet them at hotel receptions, behind the counter in shops, driving taxis and as waiters in restaurants.

The composition of the population depends greatly on the area of the city. For example, many citizens and Europeans live here, while Indians and Pakistanis only work here. It is very rare to meet an Arab citizen.

The official language of Dubai (as well as the entire UAE) is Arabic, but almost everyone here communicates in English. Knowledge in English in the UAE - a big plus for a tourist, otherwise you will have to communicate in sign language.

What do residents do - economics

The GDP of the Emirate of Dubai is 82.87 billion US dollars (according to the 2016 report). This is the second figure after Abu Dhabi (367 billion). Dubai's economy does not depend on oil, unlike Abu Dhabi, where oil accounts for 60% of GDP.

Many tourists mistakenly believe that everything in Dubai was built with oil money. However, this is a big misconception, because oil has never been the main source of income for the emirate; trade has always brought more. Now oil provides only 4% of GDP.

The largest sector of the Dubai economy is retail trade, which accounts for 29.2% of GDP. The role of a “shopping mecca” brings huge profits. In 2016, total retail revenue was $45 billion, topped only by London.

A significant portion of GDP comes from construction. Dubai is considered one of the best places in the world to live, real estate here is in great demand and is constantly becoming more expensive. In some areas of the city, foreigners are prohibited from buying property to prevent speculation and investment purchases.

Another important area is tourism, which we discussed in detail at the beginning of this article. Other developed industries: services, industry, fishing, financial services, insurance. Thousands of companies are registered in Dubai due to its low taxes.

Neighborhoods of Dubai

Below you can see a map of the city districts, click on the map to enlarge.

Jebel Ali is a port and industrial area. There are many wonders here - the world's largest artificial harbor, the world's largest desalination plant. American aircraft carriers can often be seen in the port. But tourists will not be able to see these places; entry is only for staff.

Marina (Marina)- This is an area visited by tourists; upon completion, it will have the largest artificial pier in the world. Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) is being built here, an elite residential area whose waterfront is expected to outshine Abu Dhabi. JBR Beach is popular among tourists.

Al Barsha- This is the area behind Sheikh Zayed Road. It is almost uninteresting for tourists, except for the fact that the Mall of The Emirates shopping center is located here. Moreover, to visit the Mall of The Emirates you do not need to go deeper into the Al Barsha area, since the shopping center is located right next to the metro station. Al Barsha area has many budget hotels along Sheikh Zayed Road.

Al Quoz- this area is very similar to Al Barsha, only it is located to the east along the Sheikh Zayed Road. It is interesting for tourists because of its inexpensive hotels and many art galleries located on the sites of former warehouses. The most famous: Carbon 12 Dubai, Isabelle Van den Eynde Gallery, Green art gallery, FN Designs, The Mine.

In addition to those listed above, there are dozens of other districts and suburbs in Dubai. But for tourists they are not of great interest, we will not talk about them.

Located in the artificial lake Burj Khalifa in the heart of Downtown. These are the biggest dancing fountains in the world, Dubai has surpassed even Las Vegas in this matter.

The fountains cost Dubai a record 800 million dirhams; the fountains lift up to 100 tons of water into the air at the same time, and the height of the jets reaches 150 meters. It is unforgivable to visit Dubai and miss such a show, especially since it is free.
