Healing Park and Mineral Glade in Goryachy Klyuch

The city of Goryachy Klyuch is famous for its mineral waters with healing properties.
The healing park in the city of Goryachiy Klyuch was created in 1870, six years after the founding of the resort.
The park has wide shady alleys along which vacationers walk, enjoying the clean air of the resort. More than 100 species of plants from different countries of the world are collected in the park. The boundaries in the Healing Park are not marked; it seems to merge with the forest and wild nature.
The park's alleys and paths lead to various attractions.
The main one is Mineral Glade. It was here that mineral waters came to the surface. People dug holes that filled healing water and were treated for many diseases.
Subsequently, the clearing was landscaped. Wells were drilled, from which mineral water was sent through pipes to the hydropathic clinic, the drinking gallery to the pump rooms.
The mineral glade is located at the foot of the Abadzin Mountain, main mountain Goryachy Klyuch near Dante's Gorge.
Dante's Gorge was named because the place was quite gloomy. Hydrogen sulfide vapors from mineral waters that came to the surface caused poisoning and hallucinations. Overgrowth and marshy soil completed the picture. The narrow gorge, 15 meters deep, looked like a gateway to hell. Today this place has been ennobled, Dante’s staircase has been built into the gorge.
There is a Memorial Pillar in the Healing Park. The pillar stands at the intersection of three alleys - Alley of a Thousand Pines, Quiet Alley and Embankment Alley. The alleys are a great place for walking.
A chapel was built in Mineralnaya Polyana in honor of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God. The chapel is carved right into the rock.
There are many other attractions in the Hot Spring Healing Park.

As I already told you, we have a tradition - in spring and autumn we go for a walk to the lovely town of Goryachiy Klyuch. I talked about the autumn walk
The weather whispered that it was time to go to the spring promenade. So the “rooks” flew off. And they successfully landed on the arch of the resort’s 140th anniversary.

A bit of useful theory. Yesterday I looked at maps of the city on the Internet - unfortunately, I couldn’t find a high-quality map indicating the main points of interest. Therefore, I chose the most decent one.

And a note for memory: your landmarks for the walk are Lenin Street and the Caucasus Foothills sanatorium. At the sanatorium the map is interrupted, but we must move on. All the “raisins” are behind him. If you arrived by car, then “Pedgorye” has parking (paid). If you categorically protest against the commercialism of parking attendants, fill one of the “pockets” to the “Piedmountain”. In any case, check-in from Psekupskaya Street. Hereinafter only my own experience. Is there another? I ask you not to be greedy, but to share with the suffering people.
So, we park the cars at “Pedgorye” and move to Lenin Street. I take out my camera to the sarcastic comment “He’s taking out his murder weapon.” This is the traditional start to a most pleasant walk.
At the sanatorium "Caucasus Foothills".

We could have gone straight, but we went right. We need to diversify the route somehow.

Solarium. For now it's like a picnic spot.

Resort secrets. Here they are, tanks with dirt and other valuables.

“Zones” are different. Including these.

So, we can say “gardens”, having paraded along the Psekups River in an unimproved form, we come out to the square near the Drinking Gallery. All roads lead here. Not Rome, but still.

The bearing of October-pioneer childhood. They can walk in formation unconsciously...

In the drinking gallery. Mineral water is drunk from plastic disposable cups. Resort mugs with a spout are a thing of the past.

You can also bring your own container. That's it, the whole family.

Someone is encroaching on my oxygen cocktail. I asked you to just hold it!

Everything is for sale. Even dirt) Overseas, brought from Yeisk.

Let's move on. One of the new products recent years– a mobile guide indicating the phone number and attractions to visit. All of them are located nearby, and three (maximum four) hours will be enough to cover the entire list.

In order not to spoil the eyesight of our dear readers, I am relaying the list:
- Rock of Salvation;
- Dante's Gorge;
- Chapel in honor of the Iveron Mother of God;
- Monument to Mineral Water;
- Arch in honor of the 50th anniversary of the resort;
- Man-made bath;
- Source of St. Panteleimon;
- Arch of the 140th anniversary of the resort;
- Triumphal Arch of the 145th anniversary of the resort;
- Adyghe pillar;
- An ancient water storage tank;
- Psyfabe Fortress.

We'll get to some of them today. In the meantime, to the embankment. To the Happy Bridge over the Psekups River.

In passing, on the way.

Bridge railing. It was as if there was some love-struck Twitter user with no access to the Internet and couldn’t resist leaving a little tweet.

It's time to charge up and scare passersby. In general, the ladies are all serious, career, subordinate. But on vacation they strive to climb somewhere.

Or depict a poster for the series “Sex and the City.”

Psekups, Psekups River. Stormy and wide. Relatively, of course. After the rains it's so muddy. On the left is the same Rock of Salvation, or in common parlance “Cockerel”.

Now about the bridge. On the opposite side of the bridge, near the federal highway leading to the sea, you can see this sign.

And here, an entrepreneur who built a bridge and a nice embankment along the river at her own expense, talks about the problems she encountered in connection with such a wonderful initiative. This is not funny at all. We need to say thank you to this person, and not open crazy criminal cases.

Thanks to the Happy Bridge, people returning from the sea can easily and quickly get to all the main attractions of Goryachy Klyuch. Without going into the city, just staying at the hotel " old lock” and crossing the river on a pedestrian bridge.

View from the bridge to the opposite bank. That's where we came from.

This is where trouble happened to me. By federal highway The participants of the cycling race rushed by, but I didn’t have time to run up and take a photo of them. How beautifully they raced! I was content with only the escort shot.

The same hotel “Old Castle”, the view is not great. Good hotel. The restaurant is so-so, but sleeping in the hotel is very pleasant. As in "Charming Meadow". This is a whole recreation complex located further along the federal highway, around the turn to Fanagoriyskaya. There are gazebos, picnic tables, and fishing.

An entire army of puppies jumped out from the depths of the woodpile. As a worker from the hotel said, there are as many as six puppies here. Their mother is from the “people”, but their father is of some blue blood. Of course, puppies leave no one indifferent.

Here's another one crawling out. Eh, we woke you up...

By face and behavior - the smartest.

Before us is the Rock of Salvation (aka “Cockerel”) in spring decoration.

Olya talks, Natasha listens attentively:

“One of the most famous natural monuments of the Caucasus. The rock was once called "Salvation Rock". It is located on the western slope of Abadzekh Mountain, on the Psekups River, on the outskirts of the resort town of Goryachiy Klyuch. Height is about 28 meters. The rock was created by the “perseverance” of the Psekups River, which for millions of years, rounding the Abadzekh Mountain on its way, cut off its southern side. That's how I was almost born sheer cliff. The top of the rock consists of six teeth (another one, the seventh, collapsed into the river at night in the last century) and resembles a cockscomb. It is visible from the Don highway. The rock has two small caves (Zvonkaya and Salvation). Between them is the steep Staircase of Life, carved out of stone. From the Rock of Salvation (Cockerel) there is a beautiful view of the valley of the Psekups River and the wooded spurs of the Pshaf ridge.” How does Olya know about this? from here As well as about many other things.

Olya, come to your senses, it’s still too early to swim!

The so-called “Mineral Glade”. In ancient times, it was here that the most abundant natural outlets of the Psekup mineral waters were located. Next to them, people dug holes in the ground and filled them with hot healing water. And they were treated as best they could. Then these places were landscaped, water from the springs was diverted through pipes closer to the resort. A monument to “living water” was erected in the center of the clearing.
On the left is the source of St. Panteleimon, on the right is the Chapel in honor of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God. Directly ahead is Dante's Gap.

Dante's Gorge. Yes, it was named after that same Dante Alighieri. The gorge was created by nature and people. Nature divided the mountain slopes with this narrow hundred-meter rocky gap (depth up to 15 meters). In the 70s of the nineteenth century, people cut down a stone Dante's staircase along the bottom of the gorge and improved the clearing in front of the entrance (the springs in these places were swampy, the view of these places was far from resort-like, plus mosquitoes). Gradually, due to the destruction of rocks under the influence of the local Key Creek, snow and frost, the gorge became a little deeper and wider.

People decorated the walls with drawings.

Don't forget to consider the mermaid. On the wall.

Or you can do it like this.

At the source of St. Panteleimon.

“The source of ferruginous mineral water, accessible to all visitors to the Healing Park, was consecrated in 1995 in the name of the healer Panteleimon. It is located on the slope of a mountain in the Mineral Glade area. This facility is especially popular among vacationers; many believe that the spring water rejuvenates the body. Every year on August 9, water blessing prayers are held at this source.”

This is not the only source named after Panteleimon in our region. I talked about the source in the Mikhailo-Athos desert (in the mountains of Adygea) earlier

Officialities: “In 2009, in the anniversary year of the 145th anniversary of the resort, the entrance group to the Mountain Healing Park was erected ( Triumphal Arch) is a beautiful architectural structure in the style of a traditional jubilee arch. This ensemble is installed next to the hydropathic clinic, at the entrance to the area of the resort embankment and Mineral Glade, which undoubtedly emphasizes the importance of preserving the traditions of Goryachiy Klyuch and decorates the resort park with another attraction.”

Arch in honor of the 50th anniversary of the resort.
Officialities, for the last time for today: “An architectural monument of the 20th century. The arch was erected in 1914 in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Goryachiy Klyuch resort in the Healing Park (it was then called Sanatorium) not far from the Drinking Gallery. Height is about five meters.

At the base of the square columns, united by an openwork metal lintel, based on the plot of an ancient painting about these places, figures of two lions were made and installed on massive slabs. They rest their front paws on the fallen boars. According to the authors, this means a symbolic victory of health over disease.
On the columns of the arch there are dates: “1864” and “1914” (before the revolution, the entrance to the park was here, later the park was expanded towards the center of Goryachiy Klyuch). The statues of lions tormenting defeated boars were erected after the Great Patriotic War.”
An important thing is a lecture on TV series and new films. It’s not just from LJ to learn about this.

Just fooling around is just as important.

Or gawk at the local cats. Mr. Smith. Only blondes.

After such a walk, you need to eat. There is a proven, recognized place. We often meet Krasnodar friends there.
This is "Tavern". We leave Goryachiy and drive towards Krasnodar. We drive a few kilometers away from the city and see her on the opposite side of the highway.

There is a rush in the parking lot, as usual on weekends.

They have a lot of delicious things here. If this is your first time, try pea soup in bread. Only as soon as they brought it. Otherwise, the entire soup will quickly be absorbed into the loaf of black bread in which it is, in fact, placed. This is such fun. Or indulge in fishing. If you still have strength left after the walk.

Let me clarify again. This post contains only my own experience. Please do not consider any mention of hotels and eating establishments as advertising.
Go for a walk. Hot Key is good now.

Goryachy Klyuch surprised and delighted us in winter. I have already told you that New Year holidays it was very warm there.

And now I’ll tell (and show) about our walk through the Goryachy Klyuch Mountain Park.

It has a long history. Mountain Park Goryachy Klyuch is part of the Goryachy Klyuch Healing Park, created in 1870. The place is absolutely stunning and amazing.

Goryachy Klyuch Park was not cultivated, but created in a natural natural area, just by improving the landscape, laying alleys and erecting various buildings.

Years passed. The green zone grew, expanded, and became prettier.

Today the Goryachiy Klyuch Healing Park is unusually good. It consists of two parts - Nizhny (where there are sanatoriums and a hydropathic clinic) and the Mountain Park.

It is in the latter that the most interesting natural attractions of Goryachiy Klyuch are located: Mineral Glade, Dantovo Gorge, Salvation Rock (Cockerel), ferruginous spring, warm hydrogen sulfide spring and Abadzekhskaya Kluchevaya Mountain.

A walk through the Goryachy Klyuch Mountain Park

Mountain Park is perhaps the most a nice place Hot Key.

The best way to look at the Cockerel rock is from the right bank - the one where the Old Castle stands. From there the entire rock is visible. And it’s immediately clear why it was called that - it resembles a rooster’s comb.

Rock Cockerel

We cross the Happy Bridge over the Psekups River.

Bridge over the Psekups River

The water in the river is calm, smooth, and reflects the sky.

View of the Psekups River from the bridge

And the best way to admire the Old Castle is from the left bank.

Old lock

Walking up against the flow of the river, we find ourselves on the square where the Embankment and Quiet Alley intersect. In the square we see the Memorial Pillar, erected three centuries ago in honor of Prince Khapach Lakshuk, who died on his way back from Mecca. The monument was erected by another prince, with whom Khapach traveled to Mecca.

Memory Pillar

It is considered good luck to place a coin on top of a pillar. Especially for travelers.

Interestingly, the basis of the monument was a Greek marble column, which is also sundial. The column is covered with words in the ancient Turkic language.

And there is also a bust of the famous academician Pavlov.

Bust of Academician Pavlov

I couldn’t find anywhere why a monument was erected to him in Goryachy Klyuch. They say that the academician was just relaxing here. Is this really enough to erect a monument to a person? Maybe someone knows the history of the monument?

On Quiet Alley we met an old-timer. If you can call it that. We ate shawarma on a bench (by the way, shawarma in Goryachiy Klyuch is not as tasty as in Rostov-on-Don, and is half the size - if you have tried real Rostov shawarma at least once in your life, you know what I mean). A cat joined us. Tourists passing by began to pet him and told us the story.

The Cat from Quiet Alley

It turns out that this cat settled here on Quiet Alley when he was a kitten. Everyone knows him, loves him and feeds him. The most interesting thing is that every day he goes on duty, and in the evening he goes somewhere to spend the night.

So if you come here, feed the cat. He usually sits at the first bench from the toilet (on which there is a sign “Mountain Country”).

Mineral glade

Then we head to Mineral Glade. Beautiful quiet place.

Mineral glade

In the center is a unique obelisk. This is the Mineral Water Monument. There is nothing like this anywhere else on Earth.

The Iverskaya Chapel seemed to have grown out of a rock. Previously, there was the Iversky spring here. And in the 19th century, a beautiful small chapel was carved into the rock.

Iveron Chapel

Not far from the chapel is the source of St. Panteleimon the Healer. People willingly drink from there, as it is believed that the water is not only holy, but also rejuvenating. Our youngest daughter has become rejuvenated.

Panteleimonovsky Iron Spring

Yes, by the way, if you want to take healing water with you, it makes no sense. Quite quickly, all the useful minerals precipitate and such water is no longer useful.

Mysterious Dante's Gorge

Then we head to Dante's Gorge.

Entrance to Dante's Gorge

At the entrance to it there are steps in the rock, which children especially love to climb.

Rock of Temptations

The narrow stone gorge is covered and overgrown with moss. A stream flows through it. Here you can spend a long time looking at the drawings and inscriptions carved into the malleable sandstone. Some are of the “Kisa and Osya were here” variety, and some of the drawings are truly beautiful.

Let's go to Dante's Gorge

Key at the entrance to Dante's Gorge

Petroglyphs of Dante's Gorge

There are steps leading up the gorge.

A stream flows along the stairs along the gorge

Incredibly picturesque. I really like this attraction of Goryachiy Klyuch.

Climbing up, you can admire the Mineral Glade from above.

Mineral glade. View from above

It’s nice to walk in nature, where everything is equipped: stairs, gazebos. You can walk here in any weather, even in the rain.

Rock Cockerel - an excellent observation deck

If you go higher, there will be an ancient reservoir for water, made of stones from the ancient (more precisely, medieval) Psyfabe fortress.

Vintage water tank

Crest of the Cockerel rock

In winter, when the foliage does not block the view, all surroundings are perfectly visible from here - both the Psekups River valley and the Old Castle.

View from the Cockerel rock to the Psekups river

...and to the Old Castle

From the top of the rock to the water itself leads an old staircase, hewn out of rock. The steps have been erased, in some places there are none left, and it is unsafe to go down.

Stairs from the Cockerel rock to the Psekups river

Sounding Cave

To the left of the Cockerel rock there is a narrow path that turns into a staircase leading down.

The beginning of the path to the Calling Cave

The soft sandstone steps have become so worn over the years that in some places there are just bumps instead of steps.

Stairs to the Sounding Cave

The lower you go, the more the steps are cut off.

Extreme...

Along this extreme staircase there is a wire on metal posts, but everything is shaking. In some places the wire is broken and just hanging. I hope it didn’t break under someone...

The path leads to a grotto in which there is a bench. Very romantic.

Mysterious Sounding Cave

This small grotto is called the Sounding Cave.

And from the Ringing Cave there is a staircase to the side... to nowhere

Later, while trying to find information about this place, I learned that the name of the Zvonkaya Cave was not accidental. While there, you can hear what they are saying on the other side of the river. Even if they speak very quietly. Strange, right?

Judging by the fact that there is a bench there, there are people who like to listen.

Sorry, I didn't know about this earlier. It would be interesting to check whether voices can really be heard there from the other side of Psekups...

It seems that it is along these stairs that fishermen who like to stand with a fishing rod descend to the Psekups River in the morning. For fishermen, such a descent is common, but I was very impressed by this staircase. It's quite dangerous to fall here...

It’s a pity that no one wants to straighten the hewn steps so that they can be walked safely. Another wonderful place Goryachy Klyuch would become more accessible to inquisitive tourists.

Abadzekh Mountain

Even higher, Goryachiy Klyuch Park turns into a real forest.

Forest on Abadzekh Mountain

Our children are at rest

We climbed Mount Abadzekh. It’s difficult to say that we were walking through a winter forest. Still, the winter forest is snow-covered trees. You can see for yourself what Goryachy Klyuch was like in winter this January. I even unbuttoned my light jacket when, getting up, I was slightly out of breath.

The winter forest looks more like an autumn forest

The weather is like October. Warm. The sun is shining with all its might.

Well, how can you not look into such a hollow?

Now that it’s already winter here, I can’t even believe that during the New Year holidays we walked through a warm forest, warmed by the winter sun. And only 300 kilometers from us...

Did you like Goryachy Klyuch Mountain Park?

I have already talked about other attractions of Goryachiy Klyuch, you can read in more detail to get an idea of what you can see there.

Healing Park- a place where I like to go when I want peace, I want to listen to the birds singing, and breathe fresh air. It is located on the M4 highway, in resort town Hot key. Locals think they live in paradise countries. The air here is truly fabulous. We come here at least four times a year for drinking water, buy packages from the store at the Goryacheklyuchevskaya mineral water plant and enjoy the natural crystal water.
Water is a useful part of our trip, and a pleasant part is the Healing Park. Here the soul rests, the lungs take in clean forest air. I want to come back here again and again to see the mysterious Dante’s Gorge overgrown with moss, climb the Rock of Salvation or admire the Psekups River from the Happy Bridge... And once again be convinced that the best artist on Earth is Nature.
One February day, when the bright sun was shining in the blue sky in Krasnodar, and everything reminded us of the approaching spring, it was decided to replenish our water supplies and take a walk through the Healing Park.

Advertising - club support

We leave the city, 50 kilometers along the highway towards the Black Sea, and we are at the fork to Goryachiy Klyuch. The weather that day was +2. Winter. Snow. The sun hid as soon as the mountains appeared...
Goryachy Klyuch is a small town, very green, remote from industrial centers and negative consequences of civilization.

The geographical location adds only advantages to it: forest, Caucasian foothills, mineral springs. One way is 50 kilometers - Krasnodar, the other - 50 kilometers - the Black Sea (Dzhubga).

I didn’t explore the city for sightseeing (I didn’t set such a goal). What I like about Goryachy Klyuch is the “Alley of 1000 Pines”, Pitsunda pine grows over two kilometers. It leads to the Healing Park from the city side. And a swan lake with spring water. True, I rarely saw swans.

We leave the city and enter the park from the M4 highway. If you are heading to the Black Sea or are already tanned and rested returning home, I recommend stopping for a couple of hours at this interesting place. Your guide will be restaurant and hotel complex "Old Castle". There's a big one there free parking on both sides of the highway with a pedestrian crossing.

The territory of the “Old Castle” is well-groomed, with fountains, mills, beautiful view on Salvation Rock, children's playground. On weekends it is always crowded.

We pass by souvenir shops and a beekeeper’s honey shop (by the way, the honey there is very tasty and there are good herbs) on Happy Bridge across the Psekups River, which leads to the park.

During the warmer months, you can rent a catamaran and admire the views from the river. Many people on the Happy Bridge take photographs Salvation Rock, also called Cockerel. On the ridge of the rock there is a platform with a gazebo, from where you can see from a height of 28 meters beautiful views valley of the Psekups river. The water in the river has a special green color; in this place it is rich in hydrogen sulfide.

Walking around the Healing Park is a pleasure. Even in winter we admire the flower beds. More than a hundred rare plant species have been planted here. Near the building sanatorium "Caucasus Foothills" and near the “White Obelisk” you can see Ginkgo - this is a long-living tree, growing up to 1400 years. Dinosaurs also feasted on the seeds of a medicinal plant. There are not many of these trees left on the planet. You can find ginkgo in Japan, southern China and Krasnodar region. Also, let me tell you a secret, moths really don’t like the smell of dry leaves of this tree.

On the territory of the Healing Park there are several sanatoriums that use unique mineral water, combining healing properties Essentuki drinking springs and Matsesta hydrogen sulfide waters. But that’s not what my review is about, so I won’t go into details.

Opposite the hydropathic clinic there is a drinking gallery. There is water out of three thermal springs seven types, different in chemical composition and temperature. Next to the drinking pump rooms there is a sanatorium employee who can advise which water will be healthier for you. We go to the herbal bar to enjoy oxygen and pectin cocktails.

We didn’t pass by the Pigeon Restaurant and stocked up some treats for the birds: raisins and sunflower seeds.

We also have a little tradition! Every time, after walking along the alleys of the park, we come to the “Baking” kiosk and buy pies.

We especially liked the khamirs with cheese and mushrooms.

Everything is fresh and hot, they are baked nearby in the “Oriental Kitchen”. If you order in a cafe, you will have to wait 40 minutes. Local residents highly praise manti, pilaf, samsa, and shurpa.

Gazebos for relaxation.

Caskets with souvenirs.

We also like to walk in the mountainous part of the Healing Park.

The heart of the park - Mineral glade, located at the foot of Mount Abadzekhskaya. There are spring wells on it mineral water.

The only one in the world Monument to mineral water in the form of an obelisk.

Very beautiful Chapel of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God. Carved into the rock in the 19th century next to a healing spring. The chapel is operational, you can light candles.

Amazing place - picturesque Dantovo (Hot) Gorge, is a fracture in the rock with steps cut out.

The rock is soft, so modern rock art is all over it, you can find mermaids, declarations of love, poems.

When you want peace and fresh air, the best option- go on a weekend and walk around the city park Hot key.
So, we crossed the bridge over the Psekups river and here it is - park area Goryachy Klyuch.

Slowly, we walk along a shady alley, where there are many plants and trees. The park has no clear boundaries and practically adjoins the forest, as if merging with it. Here you can sit on benches, wander along the paths, listen to the chirping of birds.

The paths in the park stretch deep into forests and climb mountain slopes, go to hiking trails.

The giant, mighty roots of centuries-old trees look fabulous, as if you are in an enchanted forest.

In the center of the park is the Mineral Glade.

The Living Water Monument is the only monument in the world in honor of the Living Water. Built in 1914 in honor of the 50th anniversary of the development of Psekup mineral waters. The monument is crowned with a double-headed eagle. On the side faces of the stele are the names of those who worked on creating the resort.

Another architectural monument is the chapel in honor of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God. Under Emperor Justinian, the Circassians joined Orthodoxy, hence the veneration of the Iveron Icon, which, according to the Orthodox, helps heal illnesses. The chapel was attached to a stone grotto in the second half of the 19th century next to the healing Iversky spring.

Nearby is the inactive Iveron spring.

Source in honor of the Holy Healer Panteleimon. Katya at the source.

The source of ferruginous mineral water is available to all visitors to the Healing Park; in 1995 it was consecrated in the name of the healer Panteleimon. The spring is especially popular among vacationers. Many people believe that the spring water rejuvenates the body. Every year on August 9, water blessing prayers are held at this source.

Every week on Fridays at 11 o'clock in Mineralnaya Polyana near the chapel an akathist (special solemn service) is performed before the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God.
