Electronic plane ticket how to find out the seat. Location of seats on the plane. Airplane cabin diagram. The most comfortable seats on an airliner

Most airlines provide services for purchasing electronic plane tickets.

Electronic air ticket is a digital option paper ticket. Essentially, this is an electronic contract between the passenger and the air carrier.

It is impossible to lose an e-ticket: the electronic record is visible anywhere in the world. Ticket information is stored electronically in a secure airline database.

An electronic plane ticket is just a number in the carrier’s database, which contains information about the passenger’s flight.

All information is printed on itinerary receipt, which does not have a universal form: each airline or agency selling air tickets has the right to use its own form.

Note! Passenger details must match passport details. Check your itinerary receipt as soon as you receive it.

If you notice an error, urgently call the feedback numbers or write to the air carrier’s email.

An electronic plane ticket is just a record in the computer’s memory, so you can only print out the itinerary receipt, which will be sent to the passenger’s mail.

The itinerary receipt can also be found in your personal account on the order page. To access your order, you need to log in Personal Area or follow the link in the flight booking email and enter the access code.

It is not necessary to print the itinerary. However, practice shows that it is still better to have it with you when traveling, especially abroad.

An itinerary receipt may be needed when entering the airport to present to security services, as well as during customs inspection or passport control.

It will also be useful if you go on a business trip, since it will become a reporting document for the accounting department.

Print out the itinerary receipt on a regular printer, on standard office paper. No special forms are required for this.

Advice! If you can’t print it, at least take a photo of the itinerary receipt on your phone. In most cases, it is not required anywhere, but different situations arise.

The undeniable advantage of an electronic air ticket is that its purchase is completed very quickly, without unnecessary fuss.

Other advantages:

  • An “E-ticket” cannot be lost, like its paper counterpart.
  • Can be purchased from anywhere and for anyone.
  • You can save money because the cost of the paper version of the ticket includes the price of the form and other expenses.
  • The service makes it possible to select and book a seat on the plane in advance.

The first thing you need for online booking is a computer with Internet access. It is enough to enter a key phrase into the search, and a lot of resources with this service will immediately pop up.

For the current 2019, the most well-known and reliable services are considered to be:

These services collect information from many airlines and offer the user the most convenient option.. All that remains is to enter the departure date, the number of passengers and select a ticket based on cost and conditions.

The advantage of such services is that they allow the buyer to compare offers from different air carriers.

You can also book an electronic plane ticket on the airline website. For example, you can go to the Aeroflot website (https://www.aeroflot.ru) and easily select a ticket for the required date.

Note! Electronic booking on the airline's website allows you to buy a ticket without extra charges. In addition, various promotions are often announced on websites, information about which is not indicated on air ticket services.

Once you have selected the appropriate ticket, confirm your purchase and follow further instructions. Enter your passport details and pay for your purchase.

After your purchase, you will receive an itinerary receipt to your email address, which is best printed out.

Passengers usually have to go through the check-in procedure at the airport, even if they have electronic ticket. But this can be avoided if you first go through the online check-in procedure.

This will eliminate the need to stand in long lines and arrive at the airport long before departure.

Electronic check-in begins approximately 24 hours before departure and ends 1 hour before departure.. To check in online, you need to enter your passport details, ticket number or booking code on the airline's website.

At online registration You can select and book seats on the plane.

The passenger assigns the seats he likes and then prints out his boarding pass. Baggage can also be checked in online.

Is it possible to book an e-ticket without paying?

Yes, you can. Some services provide time (up to 10 days) after the ticket is confirmed, which allows the passenger to accurately determine the date.

After this time has expired, the passenger confirms or cancels the reservation.

Note! You can select a specific seat on the plane only after payment. However, the service of choosing a seat before online registration is provided for a fee.

To become the owner of an itinerary receipt, you must indicate your e-mail when booking a ticket online on the “Payment” page.

As soon as funds have been paid for the ticket, an itinerary receipt with all the details of the upcoming flight will be sent to your email address.

Payment methods for electronic air tickets:

  • MasterCard/Visa bank cards;
  • electronic payment systems (WebMoney, Yandex Money, etc.).

Important! Some websites selling airline tickets may require you to present the card used to pay for the ticket for security purposes.

How to use an electronic plane ticket?

To use your ticket, you must arrive at the airport on time and register (if you have not completed it online).

To check in at the airport you will need:

  • passport;
  • birth certificate (if children are flying with you).

Important! It is better to save the printed itinerary receipt and boarding pass. Those flying on a business trip will need them to present to the accountant as a reporting document.

A boarding pass is issued to passengers after checking in for the flight.

When checking in online, you will receive your boarding pass by email, after which you need to print it out and take it with you to the airport.

Some airlines allow you to check in with a boarding pass sent to your mobile phone through a special application.

How to find out the number of an electronic plane ticket?

This information can be found in the itinerary receipt and in the “My ticket” section..

The ticket number is indicated in the upper right corner of the receipt and is a 13-digit code. In addition, the ticket number is duplicated on the boarding pass.

The return of an electronic air ticket is carried out according to the same scheme as the return of a paper counterpart.

Important! Before returning your ticket, pay attention to the presence of marks like “NON REF” (non refundable).

This mark is located in the “Restrictions” column and means that this air ticket It is non-refundable and you will not get your money back.

Conditions regarding exchange and return must be posted on the airline's website in the section on purchasing tickets. Each air carrier has its own return rules, taking into account current legislation.

As a rule, than more expensive ticket, the easier it is to pass it, and with the least financial losses. If a ticket was purchased as part of a promotion or at a special rate with restrictions, then most likely it will not be possible to return it; You can only exchange it for another flight.

It should also be taken into account general condition refund: the less time remains before departure, the larger the airline commission will be and the less money you will get back for the ticket. Namely:

  • If a ticket is returned more than 1 day before departure, the entire cost of the ticket will be returned minus fines, fees and payment system commissions (provided it is included in the price of the air ticket).
  • If you return your ticket less than 1 day before departure, you will be refunded only 75% of the cost of the ticket plus fines, fees and payment system commissions.
  • A request for an urgent refund can be sent at least 4 hours before the start of the check-in procedure. Once registration begins, increased penalty fees for ticket refunds will apply.

You need to apply for a refund to the place where the ticket was purchased: to the airline, to the travel agency, to the intermediary’s server.

To process a refund of your e-ticket, please have your booking, flight, ticket numbers, date and exact time departure.

The timing of refunds for tickets depends on the payment method and the timing of filing a refund application. Money for canceling an e-ticket can be returned to:

  • checking account;
  • bank card;
  • online wallet;
  • in cash.

To return money to your bank account you will need:

To return to an electronic wallet, you must indicate:

  • Full name of the payment sender.
  • Type of payment system (Yandex money, etc.).
  • Electronic wallet number

To return to a bank card:

  • Order number.
  • Bank card details.

Once you confirm your consent to the refund, the seats reserved for the flight will be automatically canceled by the reservation system for all unused portions of the route. This action has no retroactive effect.

So now you know how to purchase electronic air ticket and what to do with it next. We hope the information will help you avoid unnecessary fuss when buying an air ticket and save a lot of time.

For some, traveling by plane is already a stressful situation, and if you also find a bad place, then the flight will turn into a nightmare. To prevent this from happening, you need to learn how to navigate the cabin of an airliner and know the criteria for choosing a comfortable seat.

Individual approach

There is no category of “best of seats” on a passenger airliner - everything is relative here. It will be successful if it meets the passenger’s requirements for convenience and comfort. This issue will require an individual approach, because what is good for one may seem inconvenient to another.

Note! Most airlines offer passengers the opportunity to decide for themselves which seats are suitable for them on the plane, without relying on fate. It is better to take advantage of this opportunity in advance, before all the successful options have been sorted out. This can be done online by going to the website of the airline serving the selected destination and studying the layout of the seats in the cabin.

To do this, you will first have to decide on the type of aircraft you will fly on. To figure out where is the best place to sit on a plane, you should familiarize yourself with the recommendations below.

If you fail to register online, you can do this at the airport by arriving 2 hours before departure, which will increase the chances of a comfortable flight. Or use the services of a self-service terminal on the territory of the station, in the memory of which all the diagrams of aircraft serving flights are stored. This will make choosing a location easier.

Criterias of choice

Each passenger in this situation proceeds from his own preferences. First you need to figure out what criteria the selection will be based on. People of different ages and sizes fly on the plane. Some people prefer to work while flying, others try to sleep on the plane. Some people entertain themselves with a book, a game, a movie, while others look out the window at the opening panoramas.

There are those who like to communicate with their seatmates, and there are also those who want to isolate themselves from others. Mothers with small children use airplanes. Some are comfortable with this proximity, others are annoyed. People also react differently to nearby technical units (toilet and kitchen).

Before determining the level of comfort, the passenger must understand what he does not want to encounter during the flight, and what he can tolerate. Studying the diagram of the selected aircraft model will help here. Usually it shows a conditional division of the cabin into zones: some are comfortable, others are not. Each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages. This will help you understand which seats on the plane are best to choose.

Footprint analysis

For those who have been flying airplanes for a long time, it will not be difficult to find a suitable seat. For beginners, it is more difficult to understand how to choose a seat on a plane without knowing all the specifics of such a trip. The table below will help them at least a little orient themselves in the situation and understand where each place is located.

Characteristics seats in airplane

Attention: The internal data of table “13” is corrupted!

When choosing a comfortable seat on any plane, you should take into account the totality of the above criteria, weighing all the pros and cons.

Taking into account the data in the table above, you can more specifically determine which seats on the plane are better. Here are a few recommendations that we will highlight:

  • When going on a flight with a child, it would be more natural to choose seats in the front rows, where you can place a cradle on the plane, and also warm up without disturbing anyone;

  • This area is also suitable for gourmets who prefer to spend their flights enjoying a pleasant meal. They have priority in choosing the dishes offered by the flight attendant;
  • If you sat in the first row, then oh comfortable rest You can forget – seats are provided here for passengers with small children. Not only noise will be distracting, but also frequently moving passengers;
  • During a long flight, you should not choose seats in the last row and in front of the emergency doors of the aircraft due to the non-reclining seat back;
  • If you need to visit the toilet frequently, it is better to choose aisle seats at the front or back of the plane;
  • Some people are attracted by the emergency exit seats because of the free space, but they do not sell tickets to passengers with children and animals. But if you have accumulated bonus miles, then you can take advantage of the priorities of the loyalty program;
  • Among the passengers there are also those who strive to be the first to leave the plane. It is best for them to choose a seat closer to the exit. In most cases, these are the first rows, but sometimes passengers can be released through the second door - in the rear.

Those who are afraid to fly on an airplane, but are forced to do so, need to choose their seat more carefully. Here it is difficult to give specific recommendations on which seat to choose on the plane - only the passenger himself can determine the degree of comfort. For those who are stressed by confined spaces, it is better to sit near the aisle. In this situation, they should take seats in the front row if the crying of small children does not bother them.

Note! The seats at the front of the plane are also suitable for those who do not want to feel shaking during the flight and are afraid of turbulence.

For many passengers, the best option is the central part of the airliner. Here the shaking is not as noticeable as in the tail, and there is a sufficient distance from the toilets, where a line of passengers sometimes gathers. The only thing that can interfere is the proximity of the engines, which are quite loud. The plane’s wings also block the view of some of the windows, so you won’t have to admire the panorama.

In addition to these points, there are others that should not be ignored when traveling by air. They will help you understand how to choose best places in airplane.

Other things to consider

The following factors may also affect your in-flight comfort and should be taken into account in advance. Information about them can be obtained on the website of the company whose services you plan to use or contact the airport information service.

Natural phenomena

Passengers who prefer to sit by the windows will find it more comfortable to read thanks to natural light. Although in some situations the sun's rays can become quite annoying. Knowing the direction of your flight, it is easy to calculate the appropriate travel time so that the sun during this period is on the opposite side of the plane. If you can’t choose a convenient flight, then you should take a seat away from the window.

Technical capabilities

It is difficult to imagine modern people who, when going on a journey, will not take a mobile phone, tablet or laptop. During the flight, it may be necessary to recharge the gadget. This point is especially important for those who plan to work on board an aircraft. When choosing a comfortable place for yourself, you should check with the registrar about the location of the sockets (and whether they are available at all).

Peak hour

More options to choose from suitable place the passenger will have on the plane if he purchases a ticket for an undercrowded flight. If there is no clearly defined departure time, a person can calmly choose a convenient day and hour of flight for himself, taking into account passenger traffic statistics. The busiest days are from Friday to Sunday, when there is a massive flow of vacationers. But even on weekdays, you should avoid the morning and evening hours - they account for the main peak.

Airplane seat ratio

Airplanes differ in their dimensions, which also determine the location of seats in the cabin. There are airplanes with 1 (central) aisle between the seats, where the ratio is 2:2 or 3:3. Other airliners typically have 2 aisles with the same ratio of seats in a row - 3:4:3 (other options are also available). Which plane to choose depends on the passenger.

Note! The digital designation on the ticket determines the row number, but the place in it has a letter indexing. Here you will have to take into account that the designation uses the Latin alphabet, and the index “may cause confusion among Russian-speaking passengers.

If you got an uncomfortable place

It is not always possible to get what you want if it was not possible to book a comfortable option via the Internet or if you were unable to register in advance - that’s all good places already distributed. As a result, you have to be content with what is left. A number of airlines independently distribute seats on the plane between passengers, depriving them of the right to choose.

If one of these situations arises, do not despair. After boarding the plane, you can try to sit in the seat you like (in case it turns out to be free). Or make a transfer during the flight, when you are allowed to move around the cabin. Although there is a risk that all the best seats on the plane will be occupied.

Video

Even if the salon is completely full, and you have to be content with your uncomfortable chair, you need to tune in to the positive - then the feeling of discomfort will disappear, because the perception of the situation is individual, and you can master it (“I take everything into my own hands” - this is the motto).

Choosing a seat on an airplane is a complex and responsible process. The flight itself is tiring, even if you have to cover a short distance, so it is very important to find a seat with high level comfort. Having studied the map of places and their location, a person will find the best option for himself.

Classes of service

  • Business Class. Seats are separated from economy class by curtains. More space for legs. Fewer seats - two in each row. The ticket price includes the opportunity to choose dishes from the menu. Alcohol is provided free of charge;
  • First grade. The most expensive and comfortable option. High class of service: the seats fold out into a sofa, they are made of leather. They are quite wide, so you can take a lying position and get a good night's sleep during the flight.
  • Aircraft diagram

    The seats are arranged according to a certain pattern. Knowing it, you can find the most attractive option for yourself.

    Letter designation ABC-DEF

    Every traveler needs to know that:

    • A And F- seats by the window;
    • B And E- in the middle;
    • C And D- by the passage.

    Row numbering

    Numbering is carried out from the nose of the plane. The row number is indicated by a number. For example, if the ticket says “4A”, then this is the fourth row, a window seat. At the beginning of the cabin, the seats are considered the most comfortable; they are usually offered to passengers with.

    How many seats are there on a passenger plane?

    The maximum number of seats depends on the aircraft model. There are planes that can accommodate an incredible number of passengers. The leader is Airbus A380, which can accommodate the largest number of passengers and fly with 852 passengers on board. The plane was built in 2005. Great Britain, France, and Italy took part in the production.

    Second place in terms of passenger capacity Airbus A340-600. It makes the flight with just under 700 passengers on board. The highest class seats are presented. They are made of expensive materials, are comfortable, soft and quite wide.

    There is plenty of space between the seats so that passengers can find the most comfortable position. The presented aircraft have three rows of seats, each with four to five seats.

    Passengers on the Airbus A340-600 are seated on two decks. There is enough space for everyone on the spacious plane.

    There is also standard number of seats. Airplanes often have between 250 and 350 seats. If the destination is not international, the number of places can reach 150-200. It is impossible to name the exact number of seats, because everything depends on the aircraft model.

    Seating

    To ensure that your flight brings only positive emotions, you need to take care of choosing your seat in advance.

    Which places are the most convenient?

    Most convenient places are window seats. You can look out the window and enjoy the beauty of the planet, or read a book, because this is the brightest place. The text will be illuminated in a better way. Moreover, no one will squeeze past the passenger at the window in search of their seat.

    Some travelers are crazy about places in the middle. They have both pros and cons. The main advantage is that you can look out the window, because the distance to it is very short, and on the other hand, going to the toilet is much easier than for the person at the window. The end passenger will be hit by people passing by, but the person in the middle will be able to avoid this.

    However, in this case there is not much space and the traveler may feel squeezed.

    Seats in the tail

    The main advantage of seats in the tail of the plane is. If you believe the statistics, the passengers who survived the accident were flying in the rear of the plane. They make up 67% of the total number of survivors.

    If the flight is “not busy”, then the seats in the tail are usually empty. In this case, passengers can sleep on three seats at once and enjoy peace and comfort.

    In the near future

    Just a few years ago standing room might seem like something surprising, but now more and more manufacturing companies are thinking about creation such seats. Every year there are more and more passengers. Standing room could become the best option for short distance flights. These seats are less comfortable, but more affordable.

    Standing seats do not currently exist on airplanes, but they will become a reality in the near future. Airbus company already presented aircraft structure with these seats. In the near future, standing places will appear on the liners. Domestic aircraft are not equipped with such seats. However, this is one of the developments of the future.

    Some places that seem best to you may very well deliver discomfort in flight.

    Avoid if possible

    The following places should be avoided:

    1. Above the wing— passengers will not be able to see the stunning landscape;
    2. Seats in a row before the emergency exit— the seats of such seats do not recline;
    3. Places next to the toilet— passengers will constantly pass by. Flying will make a person nervous. It's unlikely that you'll be able to sleep.

    Sit by the porthole, but be aware!

    This location is preferred by most travelers. This is a great chance to admire the planet from a bird's eye view. However, it must be remembered that there is one significant drawback to such a place: go out it will be quite difficult.

    We will have to disturb passengers in the middle and on the edge. This will make them nervous.

    Get drinks too very uncomfortable. A person will make a lot of effort to stretch out his arms and get the dishes. Otherwise, you will have to again disturb your neighbors and ask them for help in transferring drinks and food.

    How to find your place?

    Some rules will help the passenger quickly find the right place:

    • Necessary study the ticket carefully. It contains information to help you find a place. The letters and numbers on the ticket will help you navigate;
    • If you have any difficulties, you can ask the flight attendants for help. They will be happy to help the passenger figure it out;
    • The row and place are indicated on the panel above the seats. It’s hard not to notice them, but the traveler will benefit from increased attentiveness.

    To ensure the most comfortable flight and the chosen seat does not disappoint the passenger, you should take into account recommendations from experts:

    • The location is being selected to suit your own needs. If a person often visits the toilet, then it is better to purchase a seat near the aisle;
    • Sitting for a long time very tiring Therefore, over long distances, experts recommend that passengers move, turn their heads, and stretch their necks. This will improve your mood and your well-being;
    • You can choose a place. On the official website of the airline. This innovation is relatively recent;
    • You can’t rush to choose a place, you need to take into account all your habits and characteristics. If a person is accustomed to comfort, then it makes sense to purchase a seat in first class.

    Simple tips will help a traveler make his flight much easier more enjoyable. Only positive, joyful memories will remain.

    Watch the video on how to choose a seat on the plane:

    A poor choice of seat on the plane is the worst way to start your vacation. If you've ever tried to fit your legs under the chair in front of you or see at least a piece of the city through half of the porthole, you understand what we mean. Sure, a couple of hours of inconvenience builds character, but is that how you want to start or end your vacation?
    To avoid being painfully uncomfortable, read our guide to the worst places on board and find out how to avoid them.

    1. Box under the seat in front of you

    You were just deciding which bags to put in the common compartment above the seats, and what could be pushed under the chair in front of you, when - surprise, there was some kind of metal box there. Usually it stores the equipment needed by the crew, but that doesn’t make it any easier for you. You will have to put your favorite backpack upstairs, and fit your legs on the remaining centimeters for the entire flight.

    How to avoid: Unfortunately, there is no uniform arrangement for these boxes. For example, in a Boeing 737 they are located on row 9 or 10, and in an Airbus A330 - on row 33 or 34. Perhaps the most correct thing is to find out the type of aircraft you will be flying on and Google it.

    2. Last place of each in the section

    This is ideal if you hate reclining your chair for some reason. Otherwise, just prepare to sleep sitting with your back straight or in a Z shape.

    How to avoid: Do not take a seat in the very last row: these chairs rest against the wall and do not recline. Also avoid rows in front of emergency exits - as a rule, the backrests there do not recline at all or recline at a negligible angle. Before choosing a seat, it would be useful to look at the diagram of the plane you will fly on.

    3. Place next to the emergency exit

    Pros of this place: you can definitely stretch your legs.
    Cons: there is no chair in front, which means you can’t put your bag under it. The table is located in the armrest (which makes the chair a little narrower) and is more flimsy than usual. There is also a bit of wind coming from the escape hatches.

    Summary: Chairs by the door - if and not worst places on the plane, they are definitely in the top three contenders.

    How to avoid: look at the plane diagram when checking in for your flight. If you see a wide gap between the rows and “ticks” on the sides, this is it - an emergency exit. Don't choose a seat next to him.

    An interesting fact: when registering, these seats usually seat adults who are apparently healthy and physically strong - after all, if something happens, they will have to open the door and help the crew. So if you are pregnant, flying with a child, have a limp, or are close to retirement age, you are unlikely to be sent here.

    4. Place next to the restroom

    Oh, this is a true pearl of our collection! An endless stream of passengers, every second of whom will lean on the back of your seat in anticipation and sway from turbulence or impatience. Trying to disperse in a narrow passage, people will touch you with their elbows. In a word, it is better to try once than to hear a hundred times.

    How to avoid: In all airplanes, the toilet is located in the tail and closer to the bow, and in some models it is also in the middle of the cabin. So don't sit in the first or last rows and look at the diagram when checking in for your flight.

    5. A place without a window

    Many airplanes have seats located between two windows. Problem number one: you won't see anything (may be a plus for those who are afraid of flying). Problem number two: you won't be able to adjust the lighting. If you want to sleep, and your neighbor in front wants to admire the clouds, guess who will close (or not close) the curtain.

    How to avoid: When checking in for a flight online, carefully study the aircraft layout and, most importantly, reviews. The airlines themselves, unfortunately, do not post information on the Internet about the presence or absence of windows, but you can call the support service and clarify this information.

    When booking tickets to or from OneTwoTrip, you can call our 24-hour support and puzzle the operators with a question about portholes.

    6. Places when the cabin is narrowed

    When the fuselage narrows, instead of six seats in a row, there are five (the number depends on the model, of course). This may seem convenient - fewer neighbors - but the reality is more cruel. In places where the seat mountings are narrowed, part of the legroom is taken away.

    How to avoid: when checking in for a flight, look at the diagram. Do you see that there is one less chair in a row? Don't take these places.

    7. Chair in the middle

    Passengers reserve these seats last. Really, who wants to sit between two strangers for several hours?

    How to avoid: Book your spot online in advance. The check-in staff usually tries not to seat single passengers in the middle seat in a row, but sometimes they simply have no choice.

    Life hack: if you are flying together, book the first and third seats in a group of three. If there is enough on the plane free seats, no one will be seated between you. And if they imprison you, you can always negotiate with this unlucky person by letting him through the aisle or to the window.

    Which places are the best?

    In first class and in business. Just a joke (though, of course, not really).
    The most comfortable seats are considered to be those in the front rows of the cabin, and in economy - right behind business class. About minus ( hand luggage nowhere to store) we have already written, but here are the advantages:
    1. a lot (no, a LOT) of legroom;
    2. no one will throw the back of the chair in front of you;
    3. you will be the first to receive food and will definitely be able to choose whether it’s chicken or fish (and if you buy tickets through, you’ll choose it on earth. A godsend for vegans and those who eat only kosher foods);
    4. if you are traveling with a small child, calmly place the stroller or cradle (there are often special mounts for them). But from here, by the way, comes a minus: if you are without a child, then there is a great chance to communicate with a stranger and not have a rest.

    The second most comfortable places are the seats near the emergency exits. Yes, we colorfully described all their disadvantages, but tall and freedom-loving passengers still choose them: everyone likes to stretch out and sleep peacefully.

    If we talk about safety, then you have to sacrifice comfort. The most safe places- in the tail section of the aircraft. According to statistics, about 67% of passengers who survived plane crashes sat in the back.

    I remember my first trip and my first flight on an airplane.
    The boarding pass was a previously incomprehensible thing, it contained a bunch of different numbers and symbols, half of which I, as a passenger, did not need at all, only confusing due to inexperience... Then most of them were torn off, leaving a small spine, and sent to the cabin of the plane.
    And then I asked the flight attendant the question that she probably hears most often from passengers - can you tell me where my seat is?...
    After that, I had many flights and each time the boarding pass looks different, and even the text is often hard to read, or has completely slipped off or was partially eaten by a torn part of the pass.
    And every time I see puzzled passengers who cannot understand where to find their flight number on it, look for the gate number, and then ask the flight attendant the same question...
    It is strange that in the era of nanotechnology and global databases, standardized air ticket purchasing services and generally accepted rules air travel, there is still no single form of boarding pass that would be both intuitive and look the same both in Moscow and in Buenos Aires...
    Maybe something will change in the near future. American designer Adam Glyn-Finnegan proposes to rethink design boarding passes, to make them more understandable for both passengers and airport workers.

    Here are some examples of my boarding passes from various travels.
    Lufthansa landing from Munich to Krakow. Part of the text with the place, landing time and gate floated onto the blank text. Imagine how convenient it will be for a pensioner or a person with poor eyesight to decipher it. Especially if the transfer is short and there is no time for it.
    The following is an example of a boarding pass for an Air France flight from Kyiv to Paris, printed in an automatic terminal at the airport. Here, in general, all the data is located completely differently. The gate is not specified at all.
    The landing flight of Aeronix Kyiv-Simferopol is absolutely enchanting. For some reason it was written by hand.

    The Aeroflot boarding ticket has no special flaws, but the Simferopol-St. Petersburg boarding ticket is simply unreadable. Thank you passport control and SABU. Is it really not possible to put your own stamps on the back of the landing? The same applies to the coupon issued in Vnukovo. Not only is it all dirty with stamps, but also some of the text remains on the torn part.

    The most widely read of the entire collection is the Turkish Airlines landing page, printed in Istanbul and Russia, printed in St. Petersburg.
    But in Paris, again, part of the text remained on the tear-off part of the coupon

    There are also such coupons, in Surgut they left the stub, and the part that is usually left is given away

    What does the American designer offer?
    Firstly, to finally unify the coupon form itself.
    Secondly, instead of an annoying inconvenient design, use an aesthetic appearance with information arranged in order of importance and chronology.

    Boarding passes are proposed to be divided into three zones - the first contains information about the passenger and is intended for airport workers, the second - indicates to the passenger where he should go to board, the third - orients him on the plane.
    Indeed, before boarding the plane, you are unlikely to need a seat number. At first, the questions arise: “when does planting begin?” and “what is the gate for my flight?” And already on the plane you need a seat number.

    To identify a seat on an airplane, Adam Glyn-Finnegan suggests using pictograms that will help the passenger navigate in which part of the plane and row the seat is located: in the nose or tail, by the window, by the aisle or in the center. In my experience, disputes often arose between a passenger who had already sat down by the window and someone who had just arrived, whether A or C was sitting by the aisle or by the window.

    The designer suggests branding boarding passes using two elements by which airlines are easily recognized: corporate colors and a logo.

    Let's see if anything changes soon)
    In the meantime, I will continue to collect a collection of assorted boarding passes.

    My travel partner is an air ticket search service.
