We got a dark nook, but with amenities. The room is interesting, but more on that later. 3. Food department. The food is basically ordinary. Public catering. The hall is decent, buffet, lots of staff. But, apparently, everything is imported, including tomatoes, which is somehow alarming for the month of July. Now about Crimean wines. We visited a winery in Inkerman. I liked everything very much. Thank you. Well done. You are moving in the right direction. We tasted it. The wines are high quality, both white and red. Real ones. But there are no discounts in the factory store, so in the mini-market near the hotel we bought the same young wine for the same price. We are glad that we did not drag all this from Sevastopol. In addition, the shops sell bottled wine from the surrounding vineyards, quite decent ones from Massandra and Bakhchisarai. 4. Hotel territory. The hotel is a former sanatorium "Pribrezhny". The entire infrastructure has been preserved from those times. Everything in the Soviet Union was done thoroughly and is still standing, including the monument to Maurice Therese. The park is well maintained: there are many pines, cypresses, cedars, plane trees, and this is a real sanatorium from the point of view of nature. The park is being looked after. Periodically, people appear to water the vegetation and trim the bushes, but rarely, so everything is withered. In addition, the paths in the park are continuous ascents and descents, so this presupposes a certain physical training. As for entertainment, there is sluggish animation for children in the evenings and occasionally in the morning. In general, the hotel can be called more of a children's hotel. The only joy for adults is to walk along a narrow strip of embankment in the evenings and stare at each other. They don't even show movies 🤦‍♂️ 5. Sea. The hotel has its own beach, but anyone from the surrounding area could come there. For a small bribe, which is collected at the entrance by rescuers. There are pebbles underfoot, medium and large. Cuts legs without special shoes. The bottom is rocky. Their only task is to collect sunbeds at 7 pm. But they could have made a good entrance to the sea: huge boulders in the water miraculously have not yet caused serious injuries to vacationers. 6. Hotel infrastructure. There is a fitness room, which you can’t get into without sneakers (what’s the use of it then?), some medical procedures, a tennis court (for a fee), a swimming pool and... that’s it. There is no outdoor sports ground, which is very surprising. But they could organize vacationers to exercise in the mornings. I think there would be people willing. For the money that the hotel charges vacationers, they could have built it. But, apparently, they thought that the total number of ascents along the paths would be enough. Services outside the hotel include a restaurant, two canteens and three shops. Everything is not just expensive, to put it simply, it’s redneck expensive. It seems that they do not produce anything in Crimea, but only rent out premises for a lot of money. Absolutely everything is imported. Of the two canteens that we visited, the Uzbek one turned out to be the most decent in both price and quality. The dining room with Russian cuisine is much inferior in terms of the quality of food and its edibility. We didn’t even dare to eat in the cafe, partly because apart from chebureks and pizza there were no delights there. Who knows what everything is made of there. There are very few cats and dogs in the area. In stores, all prices are doubled, but people have to buy, because the closest civilization is only in Yalta. But we must pay tribute, khachapuri and baklava are delicious. True, also overpriced. 7. Excursions. Excursions are offered at the hotel from Biblio-Globus. And there are exactly the same ones outside the gates - city ones. In Biblio-Globus these excursions have a coefficient of 3. This is at a cost. Otherwise everything is the same. The excursions themselves are significantly overloaded. In the heat - in three or four places this is too much, so at the end you want to say when it will end. Reviews are basically everywhere. Palace and park tours are organized inside the museums and can be taken by driving to the site yourself. 8. Crimea. The nature is absolutely luxurious: air, pine trees and sea. Great therapy. Nature never ceases to amaze throughout the entire holiday. Probably you can’t describe it better than our writers. Upon arrival, I want to re-read Kuprin, Pushkin, Chekhov, Gorky and again immerse myself in this divine gift. Crimean cities: Yalta, Sevastopol, Gurzuf, Balaklava, Nikita, Massandra - everything is interesting, original, beautiful, well-groomed to the best of our ability. But prices are record high everywhere, as in the oil-bearing regions of Russia. Crimeans leave a mixed impression. They are different. But there is a certain common denominator for almost everyone: this is redneck. But in general, we did not encounter any special problems. In part, it seems that they take joining Russia as a given, when the continental part of our country undertakes to support this region, supplying all resources here. Don't be lazy, guys. You could grow your own tomatoes! At least collect apricots along the road and make jam. By the way, transport connection between Yalta and our village left much to be desired: 4 minibuses run once an hour, although the locals say every half hour. There are traffic jams on the roads due to huge amount alien cars that are afraid of breaking traffic rules and keep the speed no more than 40 km/h. IN major cities cars crawl on top of each other due to the narrowness of the transport track. But the drivers are cheerful and talk cheerfully in traffic jams, as if at a get-together. The outskirts of Yalta resemble the village of Stroitel in Ryazan (cardboard and roofing felt factory). Only the center is landscaped: the embankment is paved, the sale of magnets and caps is flourishing on every corner, but in three roads, of course. As for the signage system, there are none at all. So feel free to use only the navigator or the old-fashioned language, which did not often lead us in the right direction, because the locals do not always understand Russian the first time and ask again (interesting, given the specifics of the “Russian-speaking” Crimea). Sevastopol seemed to be the only ennobled city in this region. It feels like Ukraine has fucked off, leaving Crimea as it was: unfinished, dilapidated, surviving as best it can. In this place, I remember Kisa and Ostap, wandering along the roads of the Caucasus and making a living by adventurously scamming those around them. 9. Fly in the ointment. Rossiya Airlines constantly delays flights, and the hotel simply evicts you onto the street, despite the fact that there is a lot of time left before departure. You can spend time outdoors, or you can pay decent money for the same nook to extend it by 4 hours. In response to our request to look into this situation and allow us to stay in the room a few hours longer, the Biblio-Globus employee promised to come to an agreement. As a result, I simply sent an SMS with the amount of the surcharge, although we expected that these two companies work in conjunction and could resolve such issues in favor of tourists, that is, show mercy and understanding in view of what is happening at the airport. Moreover, we did not live in a very prestigious building, where barely a third of the rooms were occupied, and there was definitely no queue to occupy ours. As it turned out later, upon departure, in all buildings there are no attendants who should supervise vacationers and monitor all issues of check-in and check-out. After questioning the maids, we found out that their working day ends at 5 pm, after which the entire block is left without supervision. I don’t want to talk about bad things, but what if there’s an emergency: fire, hurricane, flood? Where to run? What to do? There were no evacuation plans or signs or fire extinguishing equipment in the building. But the dark corridors and stairs leading to an unknown destination were clearly visible. In general, the question is not even a humane approach to the situation, but basic decency or the reputation of the institution. Allowing people to stay in a room for a few hours is not too much of a cost for the hotel, but for people it is important and another reason to get a favorable impression. But this cold prudence blurs many advantages. If you are going to do your business on people’s leisure and pleasure, then do it to the end and beautifully, so that we bring positive emotions to our cities, which we will share with our loved ones and acquaintances. But if you are not interested in this, then that is your “business”. Bottom line. Crimea has wonderful nature, air and sea. But the joy from all this is blurred by certain circumstances outlined above. But if this doesn’t bother you, you’re willing to pay three-digit numbers left and right, then everything mentioned will be trifles.
