The best beaches and attractions of Phu Quoc Island

FUKOKA BEACHES
The first, and for some, the only reason to visit Phu Kok is its pristine coastline with several heavenly beaches. They have not yet been fully explored, and this is what gives the island’s coast a romantic appeal and beauty that cannot be found anywhere else in the world.

The beaches of Phukok Island stretch along the coast from north to south. You can only admire them and take a long time to decide which one you like the most. In order not to be tormented by choice, we suggest paying attention to the best beaches of Fukoka.
Truong Beach. This is a very attractive corner with white sandy beach, extending for 20 km: from Dinh Cau Beach before Tau Ru beach. There are many inhabitants in coastal waters depths of the sea, and the conditions for fishing are ideal. There is an opportunity to watch local fishermen and taste seafood right on the beach.
Ganh Dau Beach located in the north of Phu Quoc island on the border with Cambodia. Starting in Duong Dong, the coastline extends north across National Park Phu Quoc Islands - and all this is a beautiful beach with blue ocean depths and white sand. From Ganh Dau Beach on a clear day you can see Mount Ta Lon in Cambodia. Don't miss the opportunity to taste delicious seafood.
Sao Beach located in the south, near An Thoi pier and 30 km from Duong Dong. The beach is very quiet. There are few merchants here, so nothing will prevent you from fully enjoying the magnificent views. The quality of service on the beach is beyond praise: from basic amenities (sun loungers and umbrellas) to the restaurant.
Vung Bau Beach- an idyllic beach in the north of the island near Dai Beach, 40 km from Duong Dong and will appeal to those who would like to discover an environmentally friendly beach in Vietnam.
Bai Thom Beach- a deserted beach in the north of Phu Quoc island, 35 km from Duong Dong. This beach is quite secluded, making it ideal for adventure seekers.
Bai Vong Beach located 8 km from Duong Dong. It is a wide and shallow beach with white sand and a long avenue of palm trees. Here good infrastructure and, as a bonus, Bai Vong Beach is where most people take the best photos.

TASTE THE ISLAND'S ATMOSPHERE
Phu Quoc became famous for two things: beautiful beaches and national cuisine. Particularly famous on the island is the “nuoc mam” fish sauce, which has become popular throughout Vietnam and in the world in general. You can watch the sauce making process at the factory Phu Quoc Fish Sauce, located near the market in Duong Dong. Entrance to the factory is free for everyone, but it is better to be accompanied by a guide who will tell you in detail about all the stages of creating the sauce. And be prepared for... the ever-present fish spirit. Opening hours from 8.00 to 11.00 and from 13.00 to 17.00. In addition, there is something else that is worth seeing and trying: spicy black pepper, with a spicy but quite original taste. Local farmers conduct tours of their plantations for a small fee. You can take a walk through the black pepper bushes at any time of the year, but the best time to visit is from February to July, when the harvest takes place.
Phu Quoc Island has a huge selection of seafood, and it is not only fresh, but also delicious in taste. Caught from the sea and immediately cooked, shrimp, fish and shellfish are a genuine delight among travelers when visiting the island.
Three must-try dishes when traveling to Phu Quoc

Nkhum
One of the most bizarre shellfish that you should try is probably nkhum - sea urchin. It is brown and looks like a coconut. There are two options for eating this dish: raw, or after careful heat treatment. If raw food does not cause discomfort, do not miss the opportunity to taste nkhum raw. When you order nkhum, the seller cuts the whole nkhum in half horizontally like a coconut. After this, sprinkle it with lime juice and use a spoon to remove the meat from the shell, dip it in wasabi sauce and enjoy. Fresh taste and sweet aroma combined with wasabi sauce and the sourness of lime - you will hardly be able to resist a second serving.

Nhong
Phu Quoc is also famous for its Nhong fish dish. It can be prepared in different ways: fried, boiled, stewed. Nhong fish is also used to make cha ca, a fish pastry. A slice of rice cake, vegetables and fish cake is a good combination for rolls.
Nhong fish will also serve as a good decoration for salad. It is used to prepare “goi ka” - fish salad. The secret of a good salad lies in making the right choice fish and preparing the sauce. The fish should be fresh, and the fillets should be cut very thin. Before eating the fish, sprinkle it with lime juice. Then place the fish and some vegetables on a slice of rice cake and dip into the sauce. The sauce is a mixture of garlic, chili, peanuts, lime juice, fish sauce and a little sugar.

bang kang
Bang Kang (a type of noodle) - takes on a completely different taste when combined with fish and is considered a feature of the traditional cuisine of Phu Kok Island. The dish is served hot and consists of a bowl of noodle soup garnished with thu fish fillets. On your plate you can find this fish in three versions: boiled, fish balls and pieces of well-fried fillet. The different ways of preparing and serving this fish give this dish a more whimsical taste. The best Bang Kang options can be tasted in a cafe Banh Canh Lady Phung, located on a small alley near the street Nguyen Trung Truc.

What to see in Phu Quoc

SUNG HUNG PAGODA
According to the Mahayana, Sung Hung Pagoda is one of the oldest pagodas in Phu Quoc. It is located at the foot of the mountain near the center of Duong Dong. There is no exact information about who and when exactly the pagoda was built. Old-timers talk about two different pagodas, which were called “Sung Nghia” and “Hung Nhan” and were built long before her; then these names merged together, and today the whole thing is called “Sung Hung Pagoda”. According to rumors, it was built at the beginning of the 20th century. The pagoda was restored twice: in 1924 and 1960.
Sung Hung Pagoda has an architecture unique to ancient pagodas. Its doors face north. The pagoda is surrounded by huge trees, and its structure resembles a staircase, which gets higher and higher with every step. It has an impressive triangle-shaped gate leading to the statue of "Avolokitesvara Bodhisattva" (the embodiment of the infinite compassion of all Buddhas or the Goddess of Mercy) located in the middle of the courtyard. Inside is a carefully decorated main hall. The altar of the temple is located in the main hall, in which three Buddhas sit on a dais: Amitabha in the middle, Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva on the right and Avolokitesvara Bodhisattva on the left. Behind the statues is Cao Sanh's famous masterpiece, the Flying Dragon.
There are also many other decorations inside the pagoda, such as the "Dai Hong Chung" - a large bell, and many engraved quotes on the philosophy of Chinese Buddhism.
Visiting Sung Hung Pagoda is quite easy as it is located near the center of Duong Dong. Free admission. The pagoda is open to the public from 7.00 to 17.30.

KAU PALACE
One of the most famous attractions in Phu Kok is located on west coast islands. The palace was erected relatively recently, in 1937, in honor of the goddess of the seas, Thien Hau. It’s worth getting to the palace if only for the picturesque views of the mouth of the Duong Dong River. A special spectacle is in store for those who enter the palace at the end of November (15-16 day of the tenth lunar month according to the Buddhist calendar), when the palace hosts a festival dedicated to Thien Hau.

COCONUT PRISON
Coconut Prison, also known as Phu Coc Prison, is located in An Thoi City. The name “coconut” arose during the Indochina War and the rule of French colonists in Vietnam. At that time there were four sectors in the prison: “A”, “B”, “C” and “D”; the prison is believed to have housed up to 14,000 prisoners. However, at the end of the Indochina War, most of the prisoners returned home under the Geneva Accords.
With the outbreak of the Vietnam War, American troops built a new prison under the same name. The new prison had separate sectors for men, women and the elderly. Over time, another part of the prison was built in 1966, intended for Vietnamese soldiers serving their sentences. In the new part of the prison there were 12 separate sectors. Each sector was divided into four more sectors. The prison was guarded very strictly, surveillance was carried out around the clock.
Today, Coconut Prison has been designated a National Historic Heritage site since 1986 and now serves as a tour site and is a living testimony to war crimes. Some instruments of torture that were once tested on prisoners are kept here to this day. For example, you can see the “Katso Tiger Cage”, in which the prisoner was in complete darkness for a long time and after being released from this tiger cage, the prisoners most often went blind.

MAGIC WELL
Magic well Giếng Ngự located 2 km from An Thoi. Beautiful scenery of the lake and greenery mountain slopes The islands undoubtedly cause genuine delight among tourists. On the mountain there is a small temple and a throne made of pink stone, known as the "Royal Throne". When approaching the Magic Well, you can see a stele in the place where the “Royal Sword” entered, and from where a cool spring later gushed out.
The magic well has not only historical, but also mystical significance, which travelers to Phu Kok should not lose sight of. In the 17th century, fleeing from Tai-son's pursuing troops, King Nguyen and his warriors were exhausted from thirst due to lack of fresh water. To survive, the king had no choice but to raise his sword to the heavens and pray to the Almighty: “If the Almighty still wants to see me as king, then may he send us food and water.” As soon as the king plunged his sword into the ground after this prayer, a stream of clean water began to flow from under the ground to everyone’s amazement.
Choosing Phucoc Island as a refuge to rest and recover from his defeat in the Thai Son rebellion, King Nguyen was able to defeat Ty Son's troops and a few years later take control of the Saigon-Gia Dinh region.

SOURCE TRANG
The 15 km long spring originates in Hem Ninh Mountain and flows through forest thickets, forming waterfalls. Sparkling waterfalls cascading into the green forest undoubtedly complement the picturesque landscape that appears to the amazed gaze of the traveler. Perhaps the very name of the source, the name Tranh (“picture”, “view”) comes from the magnificent view of this source and the surrounding area.
A 15-minute motorcycle ride from Duong Dong city will take you to Tranh Alley, an ideal place for a picnic. You can take some food with you to rest at the spring, and then go into the forest and watch the birds and other local flora and fauna along the winding paths and rocky steps along the stream. After a long walk, during which you enjoy the singing of birds and the beauty of orchids, you will see Hang Doi Grotto(Bat Grotto), located in the mountains at an altitude of 200 meters. It is home to beautiful stalactites and can become another hospitable place for tourists. And after an exciting walk, you can relax by plunging into the cool waters of the spring. The cost of visiting the source is VND 30,000.
And be sure to listen to the story about a mysterious fish weighing 10 kg, caught in the spring by local residents in 2008. This fish has strange dots on its head, making its head resemble a monk's head and its tail like a float on the water. They say that this fish is so rare that local residents We haven't seen anything like this for a long time. Although one foreign tourist offered $1000 for this fish, local leaders tourism industry it is still shown as an exhibit at the exhibition. So, you can look at it for free.

FISHING VILLAGE HAM NINH
Located 20 km northwest of the city of Duong Dong, the fishing village of Ham Ninh is famous for its charming scenery and the calm, measured life of local fishermen.
Initially, the residents of the village of Ham Ninh were engaged only in fishing, but recently tourism and the sale of seafood and souvenirs have become the main source of income for the local population.
When visiting Ham Ninh, travelers get a rare chance to taste refreshing healthy drinks and seafood - such as ginseng and seaweed tincture, tram mushroom (a special island mushroom), and seahorse tincture. And, of course, admire the enchanting sunsets, and before returning home, buy crabs, a bottle of seahorse tincture or shell souvenirs as a gift to family and friends.

DIVING IN THE WATERS OF ANTHOUY ARCHIPELAGO
Archipelago An Thới, located opposite the southern tip of Phu Quoc, is made up of 15 tiny islets, the largest of which is only three kilometers long. A visit to the islands of the archipelago and a dip in the coastal waters is a must-see for fans of snorkeling and diving, fishing enthusiasts, as well as those who want to spend time as Robinson Crusoe (small fishing villages are found only on the largest of the islands; all the rest are uninhabited). Boats to the islands depart from the pier in the city of An Thoi, but you can always save yourself the hassle of searching for the right boat and book a trip to the archipelago by contacting the hotel administrator. It is important to remember that at the height of the rainy season - from July to September, it is almost impossible to get to the archipelago; boat traffic in Fukuoka is seasonal.

Not everything in Vietnam can be called suitable for swimming. Therefore, there seem to be beaches, but in reality there are no beaches. Having traveled all over Phu Quoc, I can say that there is no need to invent anything new. There are the well-known Ong Lang, Bai Dai and Bai Sao, and there is no point in looking for something better. Wherever we go to find secret beach, a piece of paradise, etc., they came across either a landfill and a garbage dump, or a construction site. Nothing else worth finding was ever found. Maybe when all the construction is finished and there is free passage in all parts of the beaches, more good places will become available.

Travellinka's proprietary map works without the Internet, plots a route, and shows interesting places.

Fukuoka beaches on the map

Best beaches Fukuoka:

  • Ong Lang
  • Cua Kan
  • Vung Bau
  • Bai Sao

Fukuoka beaches are not suitable for swimming:

  • All beaches in the north and northeast

Horrible beaches of Fukuoka:

  • Anthoy
  • Gan Dau

- the longest and best beach in Phu Quoc, which starts from Duong Dong and goes south. This is the closest beach from . Since this is the west coast of Fukuoka, there are always waves here in the low season. In high seas the sea is more or less calm.

But the west coast has its big advantage - this is where you can watch the most beautiful sunsets. When the sun sets on the sea. This is a kind of “trick” of Fukuoka. A crowd of spectators gathers to watch this. Someone settles down on a pebble on the shore, someone in a cafe or observation deck. And everyone says goodbye to this day and waits for the next one. The atmosphere of Goa and Kazantip. Maybe that's why Long Beach was chosen to continue the festival, now it's Epizode.

The sand on Long Beach is coarse yellow, similar to cane sugar. For a holiday, this is the best place in terms of infrastructure, choice of hotels, exchange offices, travel agencies.

Beaches Episode and Sonata

I would like to highlight Kazantip beach, also known as Episode, and nearby Sonata beach. In theory, this is also Long Beach, but the beach stands apart. It was here that the sensational festival Kazantip (), which is now called Epizode, moved.

Kazantip is fenced off and entry is paid. But from the water you can walk unnoticed from Sonata Beach, at least in the low season.

Interesting relaxed atmosphere on Sonata beach, bar, installations, even a yellow Zhiguli from somewhere and a car with cannabis. Everything is beautifully decorated and painted in bright colors - green, yellow, blue, red. The peculiarity of the beach is fine sand.

Bai Sao

If Fukuoka Long Beach is the longest, then . There is white fine sand that looks like powder. This is the most beautiful sand on the entire island, the best place for photo sessions. They set up an idyllic swing in the water, where everyone takes pictures. The entrance to the sea is shallow, very shallow, and free life jackets are provided for the Chinese.

There is infrastructure on the beach, shops, cafes, showers, toilets, water activities, inflatable towns on the water. But there's a village all around. There are practically no hotels. There are no sunsets on this beach.

After 18-19 hours the beach completely disappears. But I really like it here. The only downside is that it takes a long time to get from everywhere. It’s closer from Long Beach, but from our Ong Lang it’s almost 30 km one way. You have to log kilometers and spend an hour on the road.

Ong Lang

Ong Lang- a village north of Duong Dong. There is less infrastructure, about 10 cafes and a little more hotels.

The sand is yellow and coarse. The water is considered cleaner than in Duong Dong, but there is also garbage. I hope it gets removed someday. There are areas with stones. The most normal access to the sea is at Mango Bay. The temple is very sad in terms of garbage.

Bai Dai

- beach between Ong Lang and Duong Dong. Closer to the city, the beach is terribly dirty, but its northern part is completely ok. The sand is coarse and yellow, the entrance to the sea is sharp.

Here palm trees almost hang over the sea, and cacti grow nearby. No infrastructure except the nearest one hotel The Shell. Thanks to this hotel there is good road, but not directly to the sea, but to the hotel. Towards the sea you need to turn left before the last security post. It's a shame, but it was on this Fukuoka beach that sand blocks bit me.

Cua Kan

Cua Kan— the beach is near Ong Lang, you can walk from the village. In the off season there are the most big waves. There are hotels, and even a village with the same name, Cua Kan. It is simply impossible to swim near the city; it is better to go closer to Ong Lang. There is a cafe on the beach, but we did not find any other infrastructure.

Vung Bau

Fukuoka Beach Vung Bau quite small. It is located on the western side of the island and has an attractive view only because of the hotel and restaurant on the shore. They still keep things clean, so you can swim here safely. The beach is 100 meters long, framed by palm trees and stones. Along the edges of the beach, rocks protrude from the water, so swimming is not allowed there. There are few people here, the sand is yellow and fine.

Bai Trao Beach

Bai Trao- this is a beach not on Fukuoka, but on the neighboring island of Pineapple Island, where you will arrive by . Distance from Fukuoka 7.9 km. It’s really beautiful and well-maintained here, there are free sun loungers, and to go into the water you definitely need to wear a life jacket. This is carefully monitored by rescuers, and the reason for this is the large number of Chinese who do not know how to swim. The beach here has beautiful sand and palm trees hanging near the water, on which swings have been installed. The entrance to the water is gentle, at the bottom there are first small pebbles, then sand.

Fukuoka beaches in the north and northeast

There are no beaches suitable for swimming in Fukuoka in the north and northeast.

It is very shallow here and the sea is used for any need, just not for swimming. Part of the shore is lined with boats and nets. Local residents live here and use the sea for their own purposes.

Here they build fish farms, backwaters, fishermen's shelters, anything but beaches for tourists. There are almost no hotels here either.

And there are really few travelers here, and they simply have nothing to do here. Cambodia is visible from the north of Fukuoka, but before us it appeared as a faint outline of mountains. It’s a pity that Cambodia is so close, but there is no direct transport to it. Not even piers were found in this part of Fukuoka.

And this is Fukuoka beach in the northeast next to the construction site. The place is occupied by workers, construction workers and fishermen. They were extremely surprised to see us. Nearby there are dumps of garbage, bottles and cans. I still hope that the cans are collected to be recycled, and not just stored on the seashore.

The worst beaches in Fukuoka

Anthoy

And finally, what you will never see on advertising posters and what girls from travel agencies will not tell you - Anthoy. This is not some special place that we were looking for to photograph and scare everyone. It's just located just 1 km from cable car to the “paradise” Pineapple Island. And we were just looking for a place where we could cool off by the sea.

Phu Quoc is an island of garbage. You can take and remove all the garbage from this island, but it is impossible to remove the garbage from Fukuoka residents. They'll screw it all up again. If the beach in Fukuoka is for tourists, then they will clean it, you can stay there. But if you move 50 meters away from this beach, harsh Vietnam begins. The exception is Long Beach, there are hotels everywhere, so every piece of the beach is monitored. But not everyone is so lucky. The worst thing is if there is a city nearby. You don't even have to go there. I haven’t seen this in Ho Chi Minh City, Mui Ne, Phan Thiet and Vung Tau.

Gan Dau

The further you go from Duong Dong to the west, the worse and worse the beaches become. Another Fukuoka beach not suitable for swimming is Gan Dau. Nearby there is a cafe overlooking the sea, and below all the garbage from this cafe on the shore and the sewage flows straight into the water.

Duong Dong

In the very Duong Dong the beach is unsuitable for swimming because there is more garbage on it than sand. Perhaps the garbage will be removed, but then the beach will be filled up again. The farther from the city, the better the beach. Maybe we are unlucky yet because of the low season, at this time mountains of garbage are brought in from the sea.

Now you know about the worst and best beaches of Phu Quoc in Vietnam, where the beaches of Phu Quoc are located on the map. Subscribe to new articles.

The high season begins in Fukuoka in November and ends in April. At this time in Russia it is sad - there is little sun, it is cold and windy. Those who have already been to the island dream of white sand beaches and magnificent tropical landscapes and wonderful hotels.

Vietnam has recently become a world tourism power. He's already been chosen Russian tourists living beyond the Urals. Flights from the European part of Russia are not cheap, but even there they dream of an exotic tropical island.

For those who have not yet been to Fukuoka, we will tell you about the local delights, especially the magnificent beaches, not forgetting to mention their pros and cons, the quality of hotels, modern infrastructure, untouched tropics and other local wonders.

Phu Quoc Island, located in the Gulf of Thailand, next to the mainland coast of Vietnam, is today one of the most popular holiday destinations in South-East Asia. This is a completely developed resort with a wild jungle where no one has ever been.

Both those who love noisy parties and those who like peace and solitude will find beaches here. Young people and parents with children will also enjoy the island. There are places for romantic meetings, communication with children and quiet contemplation of older people.

It will definitely be of interest to tourists who love wild tropics, untouched human civilization, or those who prefer a beach holiday. But a gigantic tourism industry is steadily encroaching on the island. Hurry up to visit Vietnam in Phu Quoc!

The most popular beaches in Fukuoka

This is the most well-groomed and comfortable beach, which is always popular among guests of the island. The best beach bungalows and hotels line its shores. Other hotels are located far from the sea; you can get to them by bikes or taxis.

This is a clean place with a gently sloping shore, where it is very convenient to sunbathe and swim with children. It is important to remember that the sun is scorching here, gently setting over the edge of the sea. If you don't take sunscreen to the beach from the first day, you can get very sunburned.

The sun here is extremely hot, cannot be compared with either Crimea or Sochi. The first days it is better to hide from him in the shade of cafe awnings or under spreading palm trees. Sunset in the High Season on the island starts around 18:00 and can be very spectacular.

Long Beach (Long Beach) is located along the western coast of Fukuoka and is the most visited. Most tourists come on weekends and holidays. But even then, tourists may not be seen in the vast territory, because... The length of the beach is more than 15 km.

Long Beach has beige sand with large patches of fine white sand. Beach fleas live here; they are not dangerous for vacationers, but they are annoying. Hotel staff treat beach sand with special preparations.

You can rent a sun lounger on site for 100 Vietnamese dong for the whole day. If you are staying in a hotel located on the beach, you should not pay for beach equipment. The prices are reasonable, but compared to Cambodia it is a bit expensive.

Due to the large length of Long Beach, you can fully explore it and choose the best place to relax if you have availability. vehicle(bike, scooter or taxi), they can be rented on the island for quite reasonable money.

The northern part of this beach is known to Crimeans because here, near the Sanset Sonato hotel, the famous music festival “Kazantip - Episode” took place in 2017. great site, built by the organizers.

The new buildings, decoration, and design of this project have today become another modern attraction of Phu Quoc Island. Everything is allowed to be photographed or filmed absolutely free.

It is located in the southern part of the island. You can get to Sao Beach by scooter or bike, renting them in the local capital. You should go strictly south for about 25 km. If you take a taxi, a kilometer costs 10,000 dong or 27 rubles.

The road leading to Bai Sao beach is of quite tolerable quality, and at the entrance to it a dirt road begins. Masks are sold on the road to protect your face if you are riding a bike or scooter, but it is much more comfortable to choose a taxi.

Shallow on the beach White sand and magnificent seascapes in the “Bounty” style, with large swings hanging on tropical palm trees. The beach is filled with vacationers, there are hotels here, there are sun loungers with people sunbathing on them.

Here you can see tourists from all over the world coming to Bai Sao Beach to see and capture its incredible beauty with a camera or video camera. A huge line of vacationers forms to take a selfie on the swing.

Thanks to the white sand covering the bottom near the shore, the sea seems perfectly clean and completely transparent, which is close to the truth. Swimming on Bai Sao Beach is a pleasure, although the sea is occasionally rough.

The downside of this beach is that it is poorly equipped and has only one cafe. There are no water, sports, or youth entertainment here, and there are no shops or souvenir shops either. But you need to visit here only for aesthetic pleasure.

Bai Sao Beach on Fukuoka is suitable for those who do not particularly need noise and entertainment, who want to hide from the whole world for a couple of weeks, immerse themselves in themselves and live in solitude, communicating with their closest and dearest people.

The beach is located on the western coast of the island. It is extremely similar in quality and popularity to Long Beach, but much smaller in size. The sand on the beach is white, like snow, and the water near the shore is crystal clear.

I am sure that all those who leave for Vietnam from the harsh Russian winters will not only spend all their time viewing and exploring local attractions, but will also want to bask in the sun and swim in the sea on the best beaches of Phu Quoc.

And for those who have already been to this island or are just planning to go, I have written below short review, in my opinion, all the main beaches.

You can choose a hotel for yourself using an excellent service; it searches for hotels using all major booking systems, such as Booking, Agoda, Hotels, etc. and will immediately give you the cost of the hotel in these systems. I also wrote a review about .

#1: Beach Long Beach(Long Beach)

It is located on the western coast of the island washed by the Gulf of Thailand. Since it is located on the southwest coast, from here you will, of course, be able to watch beautiful sunsets, as the sun not only sets below the horizon, but seems to fall into the sea.

The beach extends from Duong Dong and stretches south for almost twenty kilometers. The sand has a yellow tint and is bordered by a grassy edge of the shore, along which rows of coconut palms grow.

Bai Sao is not inferior to Long Beach in its significance and beauty. Its length is about two kilometers, and it is located in the southern part of the island, 25 kilometers from the capital Duong Dong. Bai Sao is a fairly secluded beach with soft and white sand - one of the few on the island.

You can not only passively tan on it, but if you prefer whiter leisure, then here you can rent a jet ski, go scrolling or just ride a banana. Also near the beach there are several hotels and restaurants that offer European, Vietnamese or Russian dishes.

Here in the ocean you can see starfish, and if you're lucky, small squid. In the northernmost and southernmost areas of the island, there are places where you will find corals.

Bai Ong Lang is located on the west coast of Phu Quoc. It is located between the town of Ganh Dau and Duong Dong. Bai Ong Lang is not continuous, but consists of a series of small sandy beaches separated by ridges of stones.

All recreational areas at the resorts are well maintained and regularly cleaned of debris that washes up on the shore. This is wonderful quiet place, not crowded with tourists, beautiful white sand, with crystal clear water.

There are no shops on this one, so it’s best to buy everything you need in advance and bring it with you. But if you want to drink cocktails or beer, you will find a bar or restaurant next to the hotel. If you are not satisfied with the food here, you can always go to Duong Dong, which is located a 15-minute drive from the beach.

Sometimes a seller walks along the beach and offers to buy you fresh pineapple, mango or watermelon. Sun loungers on this beach can be rented and cost about 50 (VND) VND per day.

Fukuoka beaches

On Fukuoka The most famous are 10 beaches, which differ markedly from each other in terms of comfort, development of tourist infrastructure and cleanliness.

Bai Dai Beach

Dai Beach located in the northwest of the island Phu Quoc. Just a few years ago, this was one of the most untouched beaches in the world, and now one of the best chain hotels in Vietnam is located here - Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort 5*.

True, this will not prevent you, if you wish, from finding secluded areas of the beach with untouched nature.

Beach Bai Dai still clean, covered with yellow, loose sand. The most deserted idyllic sections of the beach are located closer to the beach and opposite Turtle Island (Hon Doi Moi Island).

Diving and snorkeling enthusiasts go to Turtle Island (Hon Doi Moi Island) - there is a famous dive site here.

The sea here is warm, with a gentle slope, without currents, with water of various shades from blue to green. The beach strip is not wide; in some areas, casaurina (aeolian tree) comes close to the beach.

Beach Dai Beach Ideal for children and non-swimmers.

There are small restaurants along the shore in the village Ganh Dau(with still low prices).

Vung Bau Beach

Vung Bau one of the least crowded beaches - apart from a couple of small restaurants you will not find anything here. It is located south of the beach.

The beach is about 4.5 km long and is lined with tall grass, palm trees and casaurina trees.
The sea here is calm during the dry season and quite aggressive during the rainy season. The entrance to the water is gentle with gradually increasing depth.

Not only is it not uncommon on this beach sea stars, shells, but also sea urchins, so be careful, watch your step.

Close to the beach Vung Bau There are several small hotels (you can also have a snack there):

  • Bamboo Cottages(with its own private beach, luxury rooms)
  • Vung Bau Resort(amazing beach + reasonable price)
  • Mai Phuong Phu Quoc Resort(comfortable beach + reasonable price)

Ong Lang Beach

Beach Ong Lang is located on the west coast of the island between the village of Ganh Dau and the main city of the island - Duong Dong.

Ong Lang noticeably different from other beaches: the beach strip here is periodically interrupted by sections of rocks and stones. Here you can watch not only the most beautiful sunsets on the west coast of the island, but also numerous fishing boats crossing the cow beach.

The beach is covered with light yellow loose sand, fairly clean (hotel staff regularly cleans their areas), and is bordered by palm trees and casaurina trees.

The sea here is transparent, green-blue, calm, with a gentle entry into the water, at the beginning high season(November - December) there may occasionally be jellyfish.

Along the beach Ong Lang There are quite a lot of small hotels, guest houses, restaurants, and fast food outlets. If you need more variety in restaurants and shops, then go to Duong Dong - 15 minutes and you are there.

Ganh Dau Beach

Beach Gan Bau Beach is located at the northern tip of Phu Quoc Island, near the village of Ganh Dau. Gan Bau Beach It has the shape of a horseshoe, is surrounded by forests, covered on both sides by low mountains.

The sand on the beach is yellow, with a significant admixture of ground corals. The sea here is calm, inhabited by various living creatures (thanks to the presence of corals and stones) - if you wish, you can watch crabs, shellfish, and various fish. Opposite the beach you can see the Cambodian coast (Mount Ta Lon). Nearby are Phu Quoc National Park and Nguyen Trung Truc Temple, which are worth a visit.

Right on the beach Gan Bau Beach there are two restaurants where you can taste seafood or national Vietnamese cuisine (meals start from 100,000VND). In the village itself, you can taste traditional Vietnamese dishes for VND 35,000. As of March 2016, there was not a single working ATM here.

There are no hotels on the beach, but you can stay at Ganh Dau.

Sao & Khem Beaches (Bai Sao and Bai Khem)

Beach Sao Beach is located in the southeast of the island, 7 km from the town of An Thoi. This is one of the best beaches not only in Vietnam, but in all of Southeast Asia.

Sao Beach is famous for its white sand - very reminiscent of the beaches of the Caribbean.

The best section of the beach is next to the restaurant Paradiso(previously called “No Problem”). In the southern part of the beach the sand is yellow, coarser, and clean beach difficult to name. A few years ago it was perfect, but now you can see the consequences of its popularity - some areas are covered with garbage.

The sea here has a characteristic turquoise hue and is shallow (to a depth of more than 100 m).

In the sea you can see many young fish, crustaceans, and sometimes squid; in September - October there are many starfish off the coast.

Today at the beach Sao Beach you will find many restaurants, bars, small hotels, tour agencies, boat and kayak rentals, windsurfing and kitesurfing centers.

Beach Bai Hem located next door, famous for its white sand. Until 2014, this part of the island was closed to tourists (there were military installations here). Now access is free, but contrary to what is written about the beach on the Internet, it cannot be considered comfortable: the coastal waters are rich in fish, shrimp, anchovies, and this has led to the fact that the largest fish market is located here. Anyone who has been to similar markets in Vietnam at least once knows that there is no need to talk about cleanliness here.

In the near future, the authorities plan to close the fish market here and repurpose the beach exclusively for tourism.

Long Beach

Long Beach this is the epicenter of a beach holiday in Fukuoka - 20 km of golden sand, turquoise sea and magnificent sunsets.

The beach is located on the west coast of the island just 10 minutes drive from international airport. It’s comfortable to sunbathe, swim, exercise here aquatic species sports, relax and just bask in the sun.

There are numerous hotels, restaurants, and shops along the entire beach. Merchants right on the beach will offer you drinks, fruits, and seafood.

The beach is conventionally divided into 2 parts: northern and southern.

North Long Beach It is 5 km long, starts at the Eden Resort Hotel (in Duong Dong, near the new airport) and ends at the rocks next to the Trang An Phu Quoc Hotel.

South Long Beach stretches for 15 km, includes a series of small local beaches (Xep Beach, Dai Do Beach, Duong Co Beach, Duong Xanh Beach, and Vuon Dua Beach). It is not so crowded here, the infrastructure is somewhat less developed than in the northern part. This is a place to go for those looking for peace and quiet.

Sparsely populated southern part of the beach Long Beach This is a temporary phenomenon - large-scale construction of large tourist complexes begins here (construction is planned to be completed by 2020).

Rach Tram & Rach Vem Beaches

Both beaches are located in the north of the island, surrounded by tropical jungle. The beaches are rarely visited by tourists - the roads to them are unpaved, tourism infrastructure undeveloped, luxurious nature and heaps of garbage on the shore in the form of broken boats, old nets, plastic boxes, etc. In general, these beaches are waiting for the owner's hand.

Thom Beach

Thom Beach located in the north of the island - a very quiet and calm beach, surrounded by cashew thickets (hazelnut). You can only get here along a dirt road; the infrastructure here is poorly developed, but there are still a few inexpensive hotels.

Sea near the beach Thom Beach shallow, noticeable low tides.

In the future, it is planned to build a tourist center here.

Cua Can Beach

Beach Cua Can Beach is located on the west coast of the island between the beaches in the south and in the north. At this point, the Kua Kan River flows into the Gulf of Thailand, forming many shallows with thickets of casuarina. This place is not suitable for swimming, except for small sections of the beach.

Vong Beach

Beach Wong Beach the first one that guests see when arriving on the island by water: here is the ferry terminal where they arrive from the mainland. It is 8 km from the capital of the island, Doung Dong, and Ham Ninh village is nearby.

The surrounding nature looks much nicer than the beach itself, especially considering that two additional berths are currently under construction.

The sea here is shallow, and jellyfish are often found. It is unlikely that you will have the desire to rent housing in this part of the island, but it is quite possible to try seafood.
