HOLIDAYING IN ST. PETERSBURG

Let’s make a reservation right away: swim within the city limits Rospotrebnadzor does not recommend. The water is not clean enough for this. Although, in good weather people still ignore these rules and plunge into the water. But even if you don’t plan to swim, you can relax on the beaches, sunbathe and admire the Neva, the bay, and lakes.

BEACH OF PETROPAUL FORTRESS

How to get there: walk from the Gorkovskaya metro station through the Alexander Garden, fifteen minutes on foot.

What there is: several changing cabins. There is a cafe and toilets on the territory of the museum.

What's good: both beach and great Observation deck. The wall of Ioannovsky Ravelin, which protects the sandy shore from the wind, is a kind of indicator: people are standing next to it in swimsuits (and sometimes without them), which means the sun is already warming up. And while sunbathing, you can admire beautiful view to the city center. True, don’t be surprised if tourists stare at you.

BEACH OF PRIMORSKY VICTORY PARK

How to get there: from the Krestovsky Ostrov metro station, turn left, at the intersection of Ryukhin Street and Krestovsky Prospekt, turn right.

What there is: beach volleyball, cafes, cabins.

What's good: cozy beach with a beautiful view of the sailboats of the yacht clubs. Nearby there is a small zoo and a park itself where you can take a walk. But you definitely don’t need to get into the water here: not even because of the mud, but because of the serious depth and strong current.

OLGINSKY POND

Why it’s good: Sandy beaches are located on the shores of the 1st Suzdal and 2nd Suzdal lakes. There is a forest nearby. It’s quite clean, there are a lot of people who want to sunbathe here on a sunny day. Rescuers are responsible for safety. Upper Lake considered more popular and better equipped. Srednye Lake often hosts wakeboard competitions and hosts all sorts of events. But it’s probably not worth going here on weekends, it’s too crowded.

SEA OAKS

How to get there: the beach is located in the village " Fox Nose" You can get there from the Chernaya Rechka metro station by minibuses No. 305, 425.

What is there: changing cabins, toilets, beach umbrellas, benches. But with food it’s more difficult; it’s better to take a snack with you.

What’s good: Fox Nose – iconic place. Due to circumstances, Sea Oaks is the only publicly accessible beach in the village and it is very nice here in the summer. Nature, fresh air... the impression is spoiled a little by the smell - it’s not the most pleasant here. And mosquitoes, which by evening are ready to “eat” anyone in their path.

KRONSTADT BEACH

How to get there: by minibus to Kronstadt from the Chernaya Rechka and Prospekt Prosveshcheniya metro stations. However, you won’t get to the beach itself - from the Gostiny Dvor stop (it’s the last one) you still need to walk for about 15 minutes.

What's good about it: located in the historical center of the city. You will relax with views of the dilapidated fort. The beach is quite clean and well-groomed, there is a rescue station. There is a cabinet with books that are in free access. You can read it and then return it.

What is there: changing cabins, awnings, sun loungers, dry closets, children's entertainment, a cafe next to the beach. Rescue station.

Why it’s good: from time to time (we emphasize, not always) they even officially allow swimming here. And in last years This is the only beach within the city that manages to obtain such permission from Rospotrebnadzor. Sandy shore, gentle entrance to the water. Cleanliness is monitored. And a lot of people. There may not be enough beach equipment for everyone on weekends.

What is there: changing cabins, dry closets, trash cans. Rescue station.

What's good: Not the most crowded beach in the city. Suitable for amateurs relaxing holiday. The shore of Izhora is clean and the beach looks well-groomed. BEACH IN KOMAROVO

How to get there: train from Finlyandsky station to the station "Komarovo"

What is there: rescue station, parking, changing cabins, toilets, playground, benches, trash cans

What’s good: “For a week before the second...” - this is exactly about this village in Resort area St. Petersburg. This is one of the oldest beaches north coast. There are two zones: sandy and

rocky. As they say, not for everybody. It’s good to come here with tents to spend a couple of days in nature. But there is no special entertainment. There is a High-Dive beach and entertainment complex nearby, but it is most often closed for various events.

PIKE LAKE

What is there: Benches, changing cabins, dry toilet, gazebos for groups, trash cans everywhere

What's good: This lake is loved by fishermen for the diversity and richness of its inhabitants. But in recent years they have been squeezed out by ordinary vacationers. A reserve has been operating here since 2011. There is a forest around the lake with good paths: they have long been favored by cyclists. The lake is very beautiful. Convenient entry into the water, well-kept beach, although there are those who litter. But on weekends people here are like on Nevsky.

COLONIST BEACH (PUSHKIN)

How to get there: from the Kupchino metro station take minibus No. K286 or bus No. 186. Go to the Moskovskie Vorota stop. By train to the railway station “Tsarskoe Selo - Pushkin”, then by any minibus to the same stop.

What is there: changing cabins, trash cans, dry closet. But food is problematic, there are no “grocery” places.

What's good: small fenced beach. You can lie down on the large green lawn; sunbathing is even more pleasant on the grass. The Kolonistsky pond remains a popular recreation area for townspeople, and in winter Epiphany bathing is held there. Rospotrebnadzor does not allow swimming, but townspeople still go into the water from time to time.

What is there: changing cabins, trash cans, small cafes, umbrellas

Why it’s good: It’s good to come here in the evening and admire the sunsets. Sand dunes surrounded by pine forests, they are peaceful. But it’s not bad at the beach during the day either. Sandy, flat bottom, decently warming water. The beach is very large and, although St. Petersburg residents call it one of the most popular, there is enough space for everyone.

GREEN MOUNTAIN BEACH (SESTROETSK)

How to get there: by train from the Finlyandsky station to the Razliv or Tarkhovka station. By minibus: from the Staraya Derevnya metro station No. 305, from the Chernaya Rechka metro station No. 425, 417, from the Lenin Square metro station No. 400. Stop "Razliv".

What is there: changing cabins, toilets, rescue station, places for sports games. Nearby there is a pine forest. There is private parking at the beach. Cafe - no.

Why it’s good: It’s called one of the most comfortable. Vacationers say the water is clear and the bottom is visible. But, as we remember, you still can’t swim.

RELAXING IN THE LENO REGION

It’s better to go to your neighbors for a swim. Leningrad region is rich in beaches and, although Rospotrebnadzor is just as picky there, there are still places where you can take a dip. However, we note that the quality of water is such a changeable thing: today it’s possible, tomorrow it’s impossible.

KORKINSKOM LAKE

How to get there: along the Koltushskoe highway to the intersection at Vsevolozhsk. At the intersection - straight ahead (along Voeikovskoye Highway) about 800-900 meters. Turn onto Kirpolye, Korkino. Drive approximately 4.5 km.

What is there: parking, beach volleyball, toilets, cafe, rental point, gazebos.

What's good: you can go into the water here! It is clean and warms up well. You can barbecue in the gazebos, and fishing is also allowed here, albeit with a license. DONZO (KYURLEVSKY QUARRY)

How to get there: By car, turn right from Vyra towards Volosovo and right again behind the bridge over Oredezh. But public transport does not go here, alas.

What is there: no special infrastructure. But there is beautiful views and clean water.

What's good: If you are looking for a comfortable, relaxing holiday, this is the place for you. The water may not seem transparent at first glance, but this is a deceptive impression. In fact, it is clean, azure in color, and the sand on the beach is snow-white. Why not the Maldives? Thanks to its shallow depth, the lake warms up well, so it’s comfortable to relax here with children. Once you move a little away from the shore, it immediately becomes clear why the place is popularly called “Blue Lakes”.

OSINOVETS BEACH

How to get there: after driving along the Road of Life (A 128) the monument to the broken blockade ring, turn right at the Osinovetsky lighthouse.

What is there: parking, beach volleyball, toilets, cafe, hotel, restaurant, rental office, sports ground, gazebos.

What's good: A most picturesque place, with the main attraction - the Osinovetsky lighthouse. You can ride around Ladoga by boat or catamaran. White sand, pure water. KOLTUSHSKOYE LAKE

How to get there: there are several lines from Ladozhsky Station minibus taxis: K-429, K-453, K-531, K-532 or K-533.

What is there: toilets, locker rooms, rental and rental points, children's and sports grounds, cafes and restaurants.

Why it’s good: There are several beaches on the shore of the lake, which are fully landscaped and suitable for relaxation. There is fishing, although it is paid. Here you can rent a grill and fry your catch yourself. Or ask to cook fish in one of the restaurants. In addition, a warm pavilion or tent is available for rent. However, swimming this year is not very good: the water does not meet the standards for sanitary-chemical and microbiological indicators.

LAKE OTRADNOE

How to get there: by train from Finlyandsky station to Otradnoe station, Sosnovskoye direction

What is there: “wild” beaches, a recreation center where you can rent a house and go boating, as well as go fishing.

What’s good: Otradnoye is considered one of the most beautiful lakes Karelian Isthmus. Sandy shores and there are no steep cliffs. Both “savages” and guests of the recreation center spend their time here comfortably.

BEACH OF THE VILLAGE OF KUZNECHNOE (RATNOE LAKE)

How to get there: by train from Finlyandsky station to the village of Kuznechnoye, Priozerskoe direction.

What is there: changing rooms, parking in the village

Why it’s good: this is a beach on the shore of Lake Ratnoye, which is also called “Maloye Travkino” or “Maloye Okunevoye”. In fact, it is the only convenient area for swimming in this body of water. Here there is a gentle entrance to the water and the shore is covered with fine light sand, and in other places there is a pile of stones. Not far from the lake, rock climbers train and orienteering tournaments are held. From Kuznechny, the popular Ho Chi Minh Hiking Trail begins, which leads to the Big Rocks.

BEACH OF KOKKOREVO VILLAGE (LAKE LADOGA)

How to get there: along the Road of Life to the “Broken Ring” monument, then turn right 2-3 kilometers. Public transport almost never goes there.

What to eat: To be honest, practically nothing. There is a parking lot from which the lake is literally 20 meters away. Toilet. Extremely poor infrastructure.

What’s good about it: very clean water, quite shallow, so families with children come here with pleasure. The beach is sandy and quite wide.

LAKE MIRROR

How to get there: by train from Finlyandsky station to Zerkalny station (86 km)

What is there: changing cabins, toilets. You can rent boats and catamarans.

What's good: there are undeveloped beaches and recreation centers. Moreover, it is very close to them from the station. The water in the lake is very clean and transparent, it’s not called that for nothing. There is a pine forest around. There are sandy beaches with a very comfortable and gentle approach to the water, suitable for swimming. The lake itself is very deep.

SYASSTROYSKY CITY BEACH (SYAS RIVER)

How to get there: by bus from the bus station on the Obvodny Canal or Northern bus station St. Petersburg (Murino) to bus station Syasstroy. By car, move east along the Murmansk highway and further along the M18 highway.

DREAM VACANCY

“Everything on Tolbukhin is now new: both the lighthouse itself and the lighthouses,” conducts an educational program on the shore, the head of the Tolbukhin lighthouse of the hydrographic service of the Leningrad naval base, Pyotr Efimov, whom his colleagues simply call Uncle Petya.

The previous husband and wife keepers of the country's oldest lighthouse quit this summer.

“They lived on it for three years and, apparently, were tired,” says Uncle Petya, getting into the inflatable motorboat. – Not everyone is able to live on an island: in addition to desire, you need to understand diesel engines, electricity, and construction. A good uncle will not fly in in a blue helicopter and nail you a board.

All summer, renovations were underway for the lighthouse's tercentenary. And in August, a dream job appeared online. It's been three weeks since new owners settled on Tolbukhin - captain of the second rank Dmitry Masko and his wife Yulia.

- Well, how is St. Petersburg? What's going on in the world? – the caretakers greet the “guest” boat with a smile.

Next to them are a couple of dogs. The dog Fran, or, affectionately, Funtik, is an old-timer, left over from the previous lighthouses. But the couple bought a four-month-old Malamute girl on the eve of moving to the island. They named her Maya.

The entire island, from the pier to the lighthouse doors, is littered with feathers. Tonight, together with Fran, Maya tore up an old pillow, which they took outside to burn (there are no garbage chutes at the lighthouse, so everything goes into the furnace). While she doesn’t know how to guard, she can only play around.

IGNITE AND PROTECT

First of all, the owners invite you to the “tower”.

“This is the only lighthouse in the world where the staircase is not a spiral, but a floor-by-floor one,” Dmitry proudly notes. – My main task is to wipe the lantern. Of course, not every time. But I get up at least twice a day to see if everything is okay.

Of course, fires have not been lit at the oldest lighthouse for a long time: Tolbukhin’s “stuffing” is quite young - LED blocks and automation. It flashes in all directions at once in three rows, three more are spare.

“The heart of the lighthouse is a diesel generator,” continues Dmitry. – We also have wood heating, but we are going to cook on gas: we brought a stove with us.

Dmitry’s responsibilities include not only maintaining the lighthouse, but also… protecting it. In the summer, “corn men” circle over the lighthouses of Kronstadt, and in winter, lines of curious people rush towards them on the ice - on sleighs, skis and bicycles.

“Empty lighthouses remain looted by spring,” explains Uncle Petya. – For example, both lighthouses of the St. Petersburg Sea Canal are hacked every winter for the sake of beautiful photos. Even metal bolts don't stop!

The only people who are always welcome at a strategic site, without the approval of the military, are rescuers. From the lighthouses, security guards learn the situation in the area. Dmitry also monitors the neighboring lighthouses - Shepelevsky, Krasnaya Gorka and Steersudden. If in dark time day, the light of one of them is not visible, then he reports to the duty officer via radio communication.

“I’m ashamed to admit, but I’ve only gone upstairs twice so far,” admits Yulia. - High, the ladder is narrow. In general, it's scary.

WATERMELONS FOR THE NEW YEAR

The “tower” grows from a two-story building, which houses office space and two apartments – a master’s and a guest’s. No matter which window you look out of the lighthouses’ home, you’ll see an amazing view.

– We brought a plasma device with us, I thought I’d watch movies. I set Dima a condition: I won’t go without a TV and a dishwasher. Naive! – Julia throws up her hands. – The TV is still packaged. Once. We get up at five in the morning, go to bed at eight in the evening, along with the sun. I do so many things in a day that I am amazed at myself. But so far I like everything: life should consist of difficulties, even everyday ones, otherwise it will be simply laziness to live.

While the lighthouse keeper Dmitry looks after the lighthouse, his subordinate “technician” manages the kitchen. Products are delivered to the islands once every six months. You can order what you like, but within the limits of the norm: some choose frozen meat, others choose canned food. There are no problems with power supply, thanks to the refrigerators. There are boxes of canned food in the corridors. Nearby are two watermelons. They should become a decoration of the New Year's table.

But sometimes there are difficulties with water.

“During the harsh winter, the well here froze, leaving the caretakers without drinking water,” notes Pyotr Efimov. “Then we delivered water on a hovercraft together with rescuers. Otherwise you won't get there.

SEA, TWO BEACHES, ZOO

Together with Captain Masko we go around his new possessions. In the yard there is a garden: a pine tree and a bench under it. On the other side of the island, behind the woodshed, there is a vegetable garden consisting of two greenhouses. Tomatoes, turnips, parsley with dill and sorrel, strawberries, wild strawberries, currants, gooseberries, even tobacco. For now, all this is the fruit of the work of previous caretakers, but next spring the Maskos will rebuild the greenhouses and sow their crops.

Nearby is a compost pit where worms are bred for fishing. It is forbidden to leave the lighthouse without approval or urgent need, but it is not forbidden to sail a boat a little from the shore to throw a float. But, although the couple are avid fishermen, and there is a whole sea around them, there is no catch yet. The reason is all the same housework.

There are two on the Baltic hacienda personal beach. “Beach number one” is for walking dogs, “beach number two” is for romantic evenings and sunbathing. Dmitry and Yulia greet the sunrise with a cup of coffee on the “terrace” - a bench on the shore.

- This the only place, where it doesn’t blow, the spouses clarify. - And this is without a storm. And if there is a storm, bricks fly around the yard.

Animals are also available. Funtik and Maya share the island with four cats - Mura, Murzik, Sonya and Mishka. All were rescued: some were picked up on the street, others were taken from a shelter.

“A long time ago we had a cat, but she was pinched by the door,” Yulia sighs. – They gave a lot of money, but nothing could be done. I went to the vet to have her cremated. And there they offered me to take Mura. The owner brought her for vaccination, but never returned: she died in a car accident... She took it. I walk joyfully with Mura and call Dima. And he: “And I took it!” I picked up Murzik on the street.

Dmitry says that there are a lot of animals at the lighthouse. There are birds that the caretaker feeds with biscuits. There are two flies - Olya and Masha. And then there is the ferret Igorek, who has been living under the roof for many years. How he got to the island is a mystery, but most likely he got there with big land By winter ice. The lighthouse treats him too, placing a cookie on the cornice.

THE LAST Clove

The couple plan to live at the lighthouse for at least five years.

“This step is not for six months: we turned our whole life upside down, in which we had almost everything - parents, an apartment, a dacha, a car,” says Yulia. “But we didn’t have anything like this at home!”

“She was more happy than me,” Dmitry smiles, looking at his wife. – In the city, every day you get up and run to work, jostling in transport, in traffic jams. And here in the morning I woke up, my feet were in slippers. And that's it, you're at work.

Dmitry is a captain of the second rank. He himself does not say that somewhere among his things his uniform, medals and dagger are hidden: his wife proudly whispers to us about this in private. The only child in a military family, Dmitry graduated from the Frunze Naval School and was assigned to serve in Sakhalin, in Korsakov.

At that time, Yulia studied to become a doctor at school and attended preparatory courses to enter Mechnikov.

- First lieutenant's leave. February 23,” the captain recalls. – My girlfriend refused to go with me to Korsakov. I bought an armful of carnations, approached every girl on the street, handed them a flower and asked: “Will you go with me to Sakhalin?” The girls shied away from me. The carnations were running out. When the last one remained, on bus stop On the Black River I saw this miracle with huge eyelashes. She was at Malikov’s concert, but didn’t make it to the end: for some reason her friends didn’t come, she was in a bad mood. She was sixteen, I was 24. She replied: “If I fell in love, I would go.”

Two weeks later, Dmitry left for Korsakov. Came back a year later. We met again.

“When Yulia turned eighteen and I came to ask her father for her hand in marriage—and he, by the way, was a retired FSB officer who ate in the same canteen with Vladimir Vladimirovich—I received the go-ahead.” But on the condition that I won’t take Yulia to Sakhalin,” shares Dmitry. – We got married on January 31st. I left. And on April 2, she herself flew to me.

“I ran away secretly: my dad wouldn’t let me in,” Yulia smiles. - He wanted me to become a doctor. But life decreed otherwise. And I don't regret it. If there was a second chance, I would do everything exactly the same.

“EVERYTHING IS COMING TRUE”

On Sakhalin, Dmitry served for five years at a weather station, Yulia stayed there with him for two and a half years. Both spouses call this time the best in their lives: the harsh climate, everyday difficulties - the young lovers did not care about anything.

In 2000, Dmitry was transferred to St. Petersburg, to the Central Cartographic Production of the Navy. The wife got a job there and worked her way up to the editor. Her husband has been her part-time boss for the last four years. When the military was laid off, Dmitry remained at the enterprise as a civilian.

“I want to organize a museum at the lighthouse,” says Dmitry, showing copies of old maps with Tolbukhin. - Just in time for the tricentenary.

All their friends knew that the Masko couple were not averse to moving to the lighthouse. Dmitry was informed about the vacancy on the eve of his birthday. Julia agreed immediately. They didn’t dare tell Dmitry’s mother about the decision for a long time: after all, he was seventy years old, his only son. Julia herself still has her mother and brother on the shore.

“In August, it was six years since we got married in St. Nicholas Cathedral, Dima was in uniform,” the captain’s wife admits. – Since then we have had positive changes.

“It’s just that when I promise something...” Dmitry begins.

-...everything always comes true! – Yulia finishes.

- He promised that we would live in our house on the shore of the lake...

– ... and it came true... It so happened that we have no children: there was a child, but he died... Maybe God willing, who knows. If you believe it.

HELP "KP":

Tolbukhin lighthouse stands on artificial stone island V Gulf of Finland about five kilometers from Kotlin. It was erected in 1719 by order of Peter the Great himself. Then the lighthouse “on the Kotlinskaya spit” was wooden. In 1736, he was given the name of Colonel Fedot Tolbukhin, the first commandant of Kronstadt, who distinguished himself in the Northern War.

Only under Alexander the First, the temporary wooden lighthouse was replaced by a stone one, according to the design of the architect Andreyan Zakharov.

“We had everything except a house like this!” How to live at the oldest lighthouse in Russia. Artem KILKIN

In the Vyborg district of St. Petersburg there is a wonderful corner of nature - Olginsky Pond. It would probably be more correct to say that this is a piece of a huge natural massif, Sosnovka Park.

This place is loved by many city residents who come here to relax. Everyone can find something to their liking here, be it a seeker of solitude, a family with children or a group of friends. Holidays in St. Petersburg surrounded by nature and close to the city are a success.

Story

In 1941, the city needed quartz sand and clay, which were materials for making molds used in making shells and mines. The city was surrounded by the enemy, it became impossible to import them from the region, and then, having previously carried out reconnaissance in different parts of St. Petersburg, they decided to set up a mining quarry here. So a pit appeared on the outskirts of the city. Quartz sand began to be mined here.

They loaded sand with shovels and transported it out using gas generators. Later they brought me here tram rails, they were extended as the quarry was developed. Then they installed conveyor belts, which greatly helped the workers. The quarry was called a “feeding point” for foundry workers. Sand mining was carried out here in the post-war years. In addition to foundries, construction workers began to use sand.

The present

Subsequently, in the early 70s, this quarry was filled with water and it was cultivated. Holidays in St. Petersburg on the banks of the Olginsky quarry have become popular.

The water here is clean, despite the fact that vacationers often leave behind dirt. The water here is purified every year and samples are taken for analysis. So the condition of the reservoir is controlled. There are more than ten springs in the pond, enriching it with clean water.

Set up on the shore sand beach, where in hot weather they gather for sunbathing and water procedures vacationers.
