Lara in Turkey is a prestigious resort on the Antalya coast. Description of the Lara resort: photos, beaches, what to see, prices, distances Visiting the upper Duden waterfall

So, we continue our story about. Today we will tell you about one of the most popular beaches in Antalya - Lara Beach. Let us recall that in the previous part we wrote about tourist centre resort - .

When we went to Antalya, we had no idea what we would do there and planned to get our bearings on the spot. As a result, the day of arrival was spent exploring Kaleici, and on the second we decided that it would be nice to get acquainted with the Antalya beaches. Because Lara Beach was the closest to where we lived, so that’s where we went.

Lara Beach is called in many guidebooks best beach Antalya has a “blue flag” for cleanliness, everything. Ok, soon we will find out the whole truth, we will show what is hidden.

Lara Beach on the map of Antalya

How to get to Lara Beach

From the city to the beach you can take buses No. 06, 07, 08. From Kaleici, from Ataturk Avenue there is bus No. 38. The road from the center of Antalya to Lara will take about 30-45 minutes. The fare is something like 2-3TL. Almost all routes will have Lara Beach as their final stop.

You can get there faster and with greater comfort by ordering. This is more suitable for those traveling with children. If necessary, you can be provided with a child seat.

1) Well, we are going to the beach on the bus.

Lara Beach

In general, Lara Beach is very long - about 10 kilometers in length. The part of the beach closest to the city is, in fact, municipal, and therefore free. You will see an overview of this part below. Then begins a string of various cafes for tourists, with paid sunbeds, and even further, somewhere in the last 3-4 kilometers of Lara beach, hotels occupy. This part of the beach is the most comfortable, so if everything described below seems a little wild to you, then your best bet is to just book one of the hotels on Lara Beach, with its own designated area, where everything will be clean and well-groomed.

2) Having landed at the final point, the first thing we saw was not the beach, but a rather extensive park area.

3) The park, however, looks more like a public crematorium under open air. The huge area is lined with small stoves made of brick or cast concrete. Turks fuss around them, coming here for picnics with whole families. The approach to barbecue cooking is certainly original. We don't remember seeing this anywhere else.

4) Take a good rest. Half of the apartment is being taken out into nature. Including grandfather and his favorite mattress.

5) But in general, considering that the heat at that moment was about 40 degrees, it all looked “a little” strange :) Here, even without stoves, you can fry anything, you just need to lay it out in the sun.

6) The grannies decided to get busy.

7) Immediately behind the park, approximately 1.5 kilometers to the east, there is a paved path along which, on one side, lies the beach, and on the other, there are various cafes, showers, changing rooms, etc. This part of the beach is absolutely free.

8) If you wish, you can use beach accessories for money, and if you don’t have such a desire, put a towel on the sand and there are no problems.

10) Most of all it is in those places where there are no sunbeds and where, most likely, little attention is paid to cleanliness.

11) The trash cans are overflowing, but no one is in a hurry to empty them.

12) The first 500 meters of the beach are maximally filled, mainly with Turks, and then the number of people for every 100 meters decreases exponentially.

13) But these half a kilometer, it’s such a pure Turkish hell, where everything is mixed - children, grandmothers and bathers, mothers wrapped from head to toe in rags...

15) Thin and fat, but equally gloomy hairy men...

16) Gerard Depardieu? 😀

20) Considering that Lara beach, minus the territory occupied by hotels, is several kilometers long, it is not entirely clear why the Turks so persistently huddle in a crowd on this small heel at the very beginning. Well, we make our way through the crowd to an empty part of the beach.

21) Someone laid down bricks right in the middle of the beach. Literally.

22) Having reached the 1 km mark from the beginning of the beach, we finally came across a place that seemed suitable for us to relax.

24) This part of the beach is located opposite the Red & White restaurant. Here you can sleep like on regular sun loungers for 10TL/piece.

25) So it is on super-turbo VIP trestle beds for wealthy gentlemen.

27) There are practically no people!

28) And the beach is much cleaner. Not perfect, but almost.

29) Snorkeling on Lara is a pointless activity; we didn’t find anything interesting in the water. So, small gray fish and that’s it. Dragging and surfing on Lara is a pointless activity; we never caught a pipe in the water. So, small muddy waves and that’s it.

30) Lara beach itself cannot be said to be bad. Such a strong middle peasant. The surface is coarse sand, sometimes with pebbles. The entrance to the water is moderately flat. We were on the beach 2 times, in the morning and in the afternoon. The second time the waves were noticeably more noticeable and the water became more cloudy. But no garbage was noticed in it. The temperature is more than comfortable.

31) Planes come in to land over the beach every few minutes. Not as low as in St. Maarten, after all, the airport is not close to the beach, but 5 kilometers away, but still cool.

Lara today is one of the most prestigious Turkish resorts, located near Antalya. In some sources it is even designated as its eastern region. This perfect place for those who love luxury hotels and service.

Geographical location and climate

Lara resort is located 8 kilometers from international airport Antalya and 12 - from the city center, between the Duden waterfall and the village of Kundu.

The Mediterranean climate dominates the coast; in summer it is warm and dry. Due to the high humidity, the heat, especially at the peak of temperatures in July and August, is quite difficult to bear. " Velvet season"September is considered.

The season lasts from May to October.

Transport connection

From the airport you can get to Lara by ordering a transfer or using a taxi. The journey from the center of Antalya takes no more than 15 minutes; dolmusi No. 18,30,77 run along the Antalya-Lara route.

Hotels

In total, there are about 30 luxury hotels in the city, with developed infrastructure, high level service and an excellent “set of entertainment” on site. In principle, any tourist can find an option to their liking.

For family vacation perfect fit:

  • Club Hotel Sera;
  • Kervansaray Kundu;
  • Limak Lara De Luxe Hotel;
  • Sherwood Breezes Resort;
  • IC Hotels Green Palace – Kids Concept.

Young people will certainly be attracted to hotels with excellent animation, big amount entertainment and nightclubs:

  • Royal Holiday Palace;
  • Delphin Imperial Lara;
  • Delphin Palace Hotel;
  • Wind of Lara Hotel
  • Trendy Lara.

Review of the beach area

The sandy coastal strip, which in itself is rare for Antalya and the surrounding area, is 20-30 meters wide and stretches for several kilometers. The entry into the sea is gentle and smooth - this is especially true for those vacationing with children. Lara Beach has been awarded the Blue Flag more than once.

Conventionally, the beach is divided into several zones - eastern municipal and hotel. During the season, there is “no place for an apple to fall” on the first - not only people relax here Foreign tourists, but also the Turks themselves. The further you get from the Duden Falls, the calmer and less crowded it is.

Tourist infrastructure

Lara is a resort with a well-developed tourism infrastructure. Business card town - a revolving restaurant on the top of the Tunektepe hill. The menu features mainly fish dishes, but the highlight of this place is not even the cuisine, but the magnificent view of the sea and mountain, which you can enjoy during dinner. There are many other cozy small cafes in the city.

There is also something to do in the evening. Resort guests can walk to or get to Antalya with its many attractions. Of course you can book excursions.

Review of pros and cons

It is worth going to Lara for those who love and appreciate relaxation in 5* hotels. Proximity to big city provides a full range of entertainment and a short transfer, which can be important if you are traveling with an infant.

The disadvantages of a holiday in Lara include:

  • distance from the city center
  • lack of large shopping centers and markets nearby (shopping lovers will have to go to Antalya)
  • a large number of vacationers, especially on weekends.
  • And the Turks themselves like to spend time on the municipal beach.

Lara Beach in Antalya is huge, more than 10 kilometers long, equipped for relaxation coastline.

The beaches of Turkey, especially the Mediterranean region, firmly occupy one of the leading places in the ranking of beach holidays. From year to year they attract tourists from Russia, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and other countries. And this is not surprising. A relatively short and inexpensive flight (this is not Bali or Miami), an excellent ratio between price and quality of what you can get from a beach holiday, an amazing climate, an abundance of fresh food, and of course, the genuine friendliness of the beach staff and local residents in general to guests of their country.

Infrastructure

In fact, Lara Beach is a variety of beaches stretching in the east of Antalya in the same name picturesque bay. The beach covering along the entire length of Lara is coarse sand, the descent to the water is mostly gentle.

The most popular, and therefore especially crowded, part of the beach is the one closer to the city. It starts right behind Lara Kent Park. The wide coastline here is divided by a paved path: on one side of it is the beach itself, on the other - all the necessary beach infrastructure (many cafes, showers, changing rooms, toilets, etc.). This part of the coast is considered a municipal free city beach.

The next section of the beach is distributed between various cafes, restaurants and recreation areas. Beach equipment is available for rent here. Price range is about 10 Turkish lira for a sun lounger and umbrella. However (as everywhere in the East) a huge role always plays human factor: if you are friendly, sociable with the staff, and do not look like a grumpy snob who despises the local population (which, unfortunately, compatriots who come on vacation often sin).

If, on top of that, you also ordered something from the cafe menu, they will often simply “forget” about renting a sun lounger or give you a gift.

The remaining 3-4 kilometers of Lara are part of the hotel areas. It is extremely rare for such areas in Turkey to be closed to outside visitors - everyone is welcome here. You simply will not be eligible for the free services available with a hotel bracelet.

Like most beaches in this region, on Lara areas with free accommodation are usually interspersed with paid ones - the Turks consider the sea a national treasure, the right to which is available to any citizen of the country. Having the opportunity to relax at sea, even if you don’t have money, is sacred. It's common to set up on any stretch of beach with your bamboo mat and parasol (and if you're planning on staying on Lara long enough, this is really the most a budget option- just buy both for a completely symbolic amount).

Holidays on the beaches of Lara can be of interest to everyone. Parents with children appreciate this beach for its safety, cleanliness and sandy shore, where kids happily play for hours. By the way, the special level of comfort and environmental friendliness of this place has been confirmed more than once Blue flag. Connoisseurs active rest choose Lara for good swims, morning jogging along the edge of the sea, and training on exercise machines that are installed everywhere along the coast and are completely free to use.

Antalya - incredible green City. Along the coast (and most of the city is located above the coast, on the rocks) there are parks, alleys, pedestrian and bicycle paths. Bicycles can be rented here (most often at automatic bicycle parking lots).

In Lara Kent Park, next to the beach, there is a picnic area: barbecues, tables, benches, an area with water and garbage containers are installed - everything you need so that a picnic, barbecue or just a joint gathering in nature is not spoiled.

When is the best time to relax on Lara Beach?

Antalya beaches are also attractive because great holiday It is possible here almost all year round.

The local landscape combines a warm sea, mountains and more than 300 sunny days a year. From April to mid-November the water warms up from 18 to 30 degrees.

If you don't like sweltering heat, exclude July, August and September for traveling to these parts. In addition, during this period there are a maximum number of people here, which does not make the holiday better.

April and May costs beautiful weather, but the water is still at a fairly brisk temperature, but in October and November connoisseurs of “fresh milk” like to relax here - the air temperature has already dropped to a comfortable 23.25C, and the water is cooling extremely slowly and will only become cool by the New Year.

Hotels near Lara Beach

Antalya is famous for its hotels and their diversity. Here you can find either a room in an authentic Turkish mansion in the old town or a luxurious 5-star hotel right on the shore. There are also economy class rooms. The price range greatly depends on the season and location. Breakfast is often included in the room rate.

Attractions and entertainment

If you want to diversify beach holiday, be sure to admire famous waterfall Duden. Lower Duden, whose water falls directly from the cliff into the sea, is located in close proximity to Lara. You can see the waterfall from an observation deck on the shore, or you can take a great boat trip and see all the splendor from the water.

You will have to go to Upper Duden, the easiest way is to take a taxi for this purpose, public transport getting here is extremely inconvenient. However, it is definitely worth it - it is no less spectacular here than below.

Lara Beach is famous for its annual international festival and a sand sculpture competition. Some of the materials for these purposes even come from other parts of the country.

You cannot ignore the historical part of Antalya (it is called Kaleici here). In the old town it is pleasant to wander through the narrow cobbled streets and admire the typical Turkish mansions and houses of previous eras. Incredible views open up from here panoramic views to the city itself, the Mediterranean Sea and a tiny port with yachts below.

Not far from Lara beach there is an excellent shopping mall“Terra City”, which lovers of shopping will definitely appreciate. All major brands, both international and directly Turkish, are represented here. However, if you want to experience the truly Turkish spirit, go to the bazaar. The bazaars here (as throughout Turkey) are mostly mobile - on different days of the week they take place at certain points in the city. Check with someone local about the schedule of the market closest to you. Vegetables, fruits, nuts, herbs, olives, fresh cheeses, dairy products, pickles, local sweets, Turkish gozleme flatbreads from the heat, the hum, smell and taste of real Turkey you will feel only here.

When choosing places where you would like to eat, try to move away from tourist places and choose those where the locals eat - it will be really tasty and definitely cheaper. By the way, despite common fears, here you can eat almost everywhere without worrying about potential germs or low-quality products; for Turkey this is nonsense.

The city's transport links are very developed. Most stops are well equipped: here you will find information on all passing buses and detailed route each one with all the stops it makes. Whatever area you stay in to get to Lara Beach, look for buses that indicate the word Lara. For many routes this is the final stop. From the city center, for example, routes No. LC07, KL08, LF09, LF10 and others will suit you. If there is no bus near you directly going directly to Lara, use the stop near the Markantalya shopping center - there is a large transport interchange.

The cost of travel on Antalya buses is from 2 to 3 Turkish lira, depending on the route. To save money, it is convenient to use the AntalyaKart system. There are one-time and reloadable cards that provide a significant discount on travel. To buy the card itself, look for the sign AntalyaKart or Dolum AntalyaKart in kiosks and small shops near bus stops. You can top up your balance at these same points or at machines at major stops.

Just press this button and wait a little, the machine will be there within a few minutes. Taxi in Turkey in general is not a cheap pleasure; payment is made according to the meter.

Anyone who has not been to the Lara Turkey resort has not seen paradise - says tourist wisdom. Very a nice place, which is located near the center of Antalya, or to be more precise, 8 km from it. And on the sides of this “divine place” there are the beautiful Duden waterfall and the village of Kundu.

Description of the area

The area is attractive because Antalya Airport is located nearby. The description of the resort can highlight the well-developed infrastructure: many shops, restaurants, hotels, cafes. The only one here sand beach in the area, marked with the Blue Flag (and not everyone gives it). There are many children's facilities that will make your family vacation unforgettable.
