Flights with transfers

It is cheaper to fly to Thailand with a transfer. You can save a lot, and there is a wider choice of airlines. You can find flights with a short connection or vice versa - buy tickets to Thailand with a stopover ( long docking). For example, I recently flew to Bangkok from Moscow with a stopover in the Emirates and spent 4 days in Dubai. In fact, I flew to the UAE for free!

Connecting flight options:

  • Emirates flies via Dubai (UAE).
  • Etihad - via Abu Dhabi (UAE).
  • Qatar Airways- via Doha (Qatar).
  • China Southern Airlines - via Guangzhou (China).
  • Air Astana - via Astana and Almaty.
  • Finnair - via Helsinki (Finland).
  • Cathay Pacific - via Hong Kong.
  • and so on.

From Moscow. average price for a round trip flight - about 25 thousand rubles. During the period of promotions and price reductions from airlines, it is even cheaper.

From Saint-Petersburg. From 22-25 thousand rubles you can usually buy only tickets with two transfers. You can fly to Thailand from St. Petersburg with one transfer from 28 thousand.

From Yekaterinburg. Inexpensive tickets are offered by S7 with connections in Irkutsk or Novosibirsk. Price - from 29 thousand.

From Irkutsk. A direct flight is a more attractive option. Ural Airlines has flights to Bangkok on Mondays with a transfer in China (DSN airport). You can buy such tickets to Thailand from 22,000 rubles. This option is only good if there are no cheap direct flights.

From Novosibirsk. It is easier to fly to Thailand on a direct flight. However, perverts and those who want to save a thousand rubles can fly to Bangkok with a transfer in Irkutsk.

From Khabarovsk. S7 flies through Irkutsk. Ticket prices start from 30 thousand rubles.

From Vladivostok. There are painful flight options with two connections in China (I assume you need a visa) - tickets cost from 23,000 rubles. A more humane option is to fly to Bangkok from S7 via Irkutsk for 30 thousand rubles.

  • The cost of promotional tickets is usually 10-20% lower than usual.

How can I find out about promotions and availability of cheap tickets? Follow

Difficult route

You can get to Bangkok cheaply with one trick. From time to time, when planning a complex route (when you fly from point A, arrive at point B, and fly back to point C instead of A), you can save on air tickets.

Two or three years ago, similar situations arose often. You could buy tickets to Thailand! Nowadays this rarely happens.

It’s difficult to find such an option, and it’s suitable for few. I recommend using difficult routes in order to see another country on the way to Thailand. For example, I flew to Bangkok from Moscow with a long stop (4 days) in the Emirates. For the same money as a regular ticket to Thailand, I got the opportunity to see Dubai. Very satisfied!

We are flying to Thailand through a third country

Another way to get to Thailand inexpensively is to plan your route through a third country. See if there are cheap flights from your city to Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh City or another city in the countries South-East Asia. From these cities you can fly to Bangkok on local flights (for example, Air Asia). Tickets can cost $10-$50.

This way to get to Thailand is good not only because it helps you save money. Having visited another new country, you will make your holiday brighter.

Availability of a return ticket

Upon arrival in Thailand, you may be required to present a return ticket or a ticket to a third country with a departure date no later than 30 days from the date of arrival. Not always, but it happens - once I was asked to show a ticket.

If you have round trip tickets, then there is nothing to worry about. If you are flying one way, there are several options:

  1. give up everything and take risks;
  2. make an air ticket reservation before departure, which can be canceled later;
  3. Tickets to Thailand for the New Year

Flights to Thailand during the New Year period are much more expensive - usually from 40 thousand rubles. But there are ways to reduce the price of air tickets a little. There are two important rules.

    1. Get your sleigh ready for summer! Book tickets and hotels for New Year in advance, otherwise you will have to overpay. Better - in a year or at least six months.
    2. Check different dates departure/arrival on the Skyscanner search engines and - on New Year's days the difference in price can be crazy.

Over several years of annually searching for inexpensive tickets for the New Year, I discovered an interesting pattern. Buy tickets to Thailand by best price possible with departure on December 20-23 and return on January 1-3 (the cheapest option would be to return on December 31, but this option is unlikely to suit anyone).

Save even more if you can fly out as early as possible and return as late as possible. Holiday surcharges on air tickets appear for departures after December 20. Tickets become cheaper after January 10th. So fly to Thailand ten days before the New Year and relax there more.

Thailand, Kingdom of Smiles, very popular tourist destination. But don’t think that only money-bags can afford a holiday in this country – if you plan your trip wisely, you can save a lot. In Thailand itself, prices for accommodation and food are low. The lion's share of the cost of a vacation is the air ticket. It is this item of expense that can be sky-high, or maybe... quite acceptable.

The pricing of an air ticket is influenced by many factors, and some of them do not always fit into the concept of ordinary human logic. For example, it is more reasonable to assume that a Kyiv-Moscow-Bangkok ticket from Aeroflot will cost more than just a Moscow-Bangkok ticket from the same company, but no: cheaper. Sometimes it is more economical to fly west to Europe and then go to Thailand. It is also important how long before departure you buy tickets, what season you buy them for, and even the day of the week of departure. Let's look at the main factors that influence ticket prices in order to make our flight more budget-friendly.

1. Fly with transfers. Direct flights from Russia to Thailand are more expensive by default. So a direct flight from Moscow to Thailand and back in mid-January costs about 32 thousand rubles, if you book a ticket 2-3 months before departure and miss the peak moment of the winter season from January 1 to 10. If you want to save on purchasing direct air tickets to Thailand, you should look for special offers from other airlines on the companies' official websites. Regular flights to Thailand are operated by:

  • Qatar Airways
  • Etihad Airways
  • Swiss International Air Lines
  • Egyptair
  • Turkish Airlines
  • Emirates
  • Uzbek and Turkmen Airlines.

Try browsing airline websites and looking for promotional tickets for the dates you are interested in. It's quite possible you'll find Special offers for direct flights around 25-30 thousand rubles.

You can also use special services that track prices in real time for the destination you specify. Today, the best of them is Aviasales.ru, which will tell you the best prices without any commission. If you are not afraid of transfers in Doha, Cairo, Tashkent, etc., you can subscribe to the newsletter and you will be aware of all the new offers for your date. When flying with a transfer, you can expect tickets to cost from 19 to 25 thousand rubles (round trip), depending on the destination and day of departure.

2. Departure city. Don't get hung up on Moscow and St. Petersberg. If you get there by land transport

from the city on the Neva to Helsinki, you can fly very profitably to Thailand with Finnair, and from the cities of Siberia (Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk) the inexpensive airline S7 flies there. In general, you shouldn’t get hung up on the city where to make a transfer. It’s better to pay attention to which airports are the cheapest to get to Phuket or Bangkok. 3. A round-trip ticket will be cheaper

e, than two one way. Moreover, if you arrive in Thailand without a visa, you must present a return ticket. It is better to purchase electronic tickets than directly from ticket offices or travel agencies. 4. The pricing of a flight to Thailand is also influenced by How long before departure do you purchase your ticket? . As a rule, on regular flights

cheap air tickets to Thailand appear 3-4 months in advance, and charter tickets appear in a week or even 2-3 days. Decide for yourself: if you are easy-going and free to take a vacation even tomorrow, take advantage of the charter offers.

6. Day of the week.

Most people take Monday off, but leave home on Friday or Sunday evening. Don’t be like everyone else, and you will be able to make your flight more budget-friendly: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are the most “successful” departure days if you want to buy cheap air tickets to Thailand.

When you have to work under the threat of layoffs around the clock and even on weekends, and your salary is either reduced or delayed, stress accumulates in unrealistic quantities. Only sun, sea and idleness can get rid of it. Buying tickets to Thailand is already the cheapest way to get summer in winter. But I can recommend 30 little tricks that will allow you to travel to Thailand as cheaply as possible. Bookmark this post. I wish you find it useful as soon as possible.

  1. Visa to Thailand Russians receive a free visa to Thailand immediately upon arrival - they are given a special entry stamp. And it doesn’t matter whether it’s an airport or land crossing
  1. . The period of stay is limited to 30 days. To cross the border you need a Russian passport with a validity period of at least 30 days from the date of entry. It is advisable to have a return ticket in hand.
  1. Those who plan to stay in the country longer must obtain a six-month visa in advance in Moscow or St. Petersburg. With it you can stay in Thailand continuously for two months, leave and return back within six months. This innovation appeared a year ago. A visa to Thailand costs $200. The previously existing practice of visa-run (travel to neighboring country

  1. for 1 day to receive another 30-day visa-free stamp from the Thai authorities), unfortunately, was canceled a couple of years ago. The fine for overstaying a visa to Thailand is 500 baht per day, in addition, the violator is subject to a ban on visiting the country for 5 or 10 years. But there is also good news. In 2012, Thailand allowed entry on a Cambodian visa for the duration of its validity. It costs $30 and can be pasted into your passport anywhere. international airport

Cambodia or at a land border crossing (except for the border with Laos). You can take advantage of this gift of fate when planning, for example, a route from Vietnam to Thailand via Angkor.

  1. Tickets to Thailand Since the beginning of the crisis, competition among carriers on the Thai route has fallen, and prices have risen. Thailand's Thai Airways even left Russia, but recently returned and now flies from Moscow to Bangkok. Tickets to Thailand cost from 24,500 rubles. Aeroflot operates on the same routes. He sells tickets from 27,000 rubles. Both companies also fly to Phuket. Both operate in the upper segment of air travel, so you don’t have to worry about the quality of the trip.
  1. You can save some money by monitoring the sales and promotional rates of numerous European and Asian carriers that consider Bangkok a relatively cheap destination. A connecting flight also gives you the opportunity to fly directly to your destination.
  1. The best thing to do before buying tickets to Thailand is to check different options and choose the most suitable one in terms of price, comfort and time. You can do this using the form I provide below. Enter your parameters into it (or edit the existing ones) and click “find tickets”. The Aviasales website will open in a separate window with tickets to Thailand filtered by price for the dates you are interested in. This is how I always look for and buy cheap flights and discount tickets.
  1. While the ruble was not jumping and dancing, many stocked up on tickets in advance - it turned out cheaper. Now no one wants to take risks. In addition, if you deal with this issue closer to the departure date, the price will increase slightly. Tickets to Thailand can be purchased either six months or two weeks in advance. If you are planning a trip specifically for this New Year, then hurry up. I have insight from experts - here is a table of travel deadlines that shows by what date you need to buy tickets so that they do not become more expensive.

  1. On the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, ticket prices for international destinations are recalculated in accordance with the current dollar exchange rate. Accordingly, if the ruble has fallen during the week, then it is better to buy tickets on Tuesday, because the next day they will be a little more expensive.
  1. If you can fly on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, you will be able to buy tickets a little cheaper than if you travel on other days of the week. The thing is that people usually go on vacation on Friday or Saturday, and most often fly out on business trips on Monday. Tickets on popular days are naturally more expensive.
  1. Another life hack is to use a low price calendar. It helps you analyze which months are cheaper to travel to Thailand (or any other country), and also calculate in advance the days when the cheapest flights will be available for purchase. Click on the most favorable value to go to the Aviasales website page with tickets filtered by price for the corresponding dates.

From airport to city

  1. The simplest and cheap way From Suwannaphum Airport to the city is via the City Line. Ticket prices range from 15 to 45 baht. The train arrives at Phaya Thai Station, where you can change to the city's BTS metro line or city bus.
  1. If you have a ticket, you can get to Don Mueang Airport from Suvannaphum by a free bus.

Thailand, Phuket – hotels

  1. Fans of the movie "The Beach" will, of course, remember Khao San Street in Bangkok, a paradise for independent travelers. Even with the smallest budget, you can find overnight accommodation in a hostel here for 80-200 baht per bed. Khao San Street is located in the very center, a stone's throw from Grand Palace and the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, nearby - river berths, markets, bars and cheap street food.
  1. The easiest and most convenient way to search, compare and book the cheapest hotels that suit you is using the Hotellook service - directly through the form below.

Cheap trips around the country

  1. For some time now, it has become the ideal way to travel around the country. airline Air Asia. From Don Mueang it flies throughout the country, in particular to the popular Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket and Krabi. Often, after playing around with the dates, you can purchase a ticket for $20-35.
  1. But sometimes the company arranges big sales at a “zero” rate, that is, to buy a ticket you only need to pay a penny fee.
  1. Other low-cost airlines in Thailand: Nok Air, Lion Air, Vietjet Air. It is better to buy tickets for them on the websites of the airlines themselves; aggregator websites may not see sale fares.

  1. Personally, I have never tried hitchhiking, because I heard a lot from different friends extreme stories and I believe that health is more valuable. But in Thailand everyone seems very nice. Why not try getting someone on a scooter? True, cases of falls from these Vehicle and fractures of various parts of the body are also very high among tourists, so I wouldn’t risk it either. Especially if the driver does not have a second helmet.
  1. Mobile app BlaBlaCar is successfully used all over the world. You register in the application, find a driver who goes where you need to go, and pay him a small amount set by him. It usually works out cheaper than public transport– that’s the point.

Cheap in Thailand: food

  1. The topic of Thai cooking is truly endless, but its cheapest option is trays (the so-called makashnits) and micro-canteens, in a huge number flooding the streets from early morning. Despite the seemingly unsanitary conditions from a distance, from a hygiene point of view, street food is all right; you don’t have to worry about digestion (it’s enough to use regular gel or wet wipes before eating). The diversity makes my eyes widen. To avoid immediately stumbling upon very spicy dishes, I recommend starting with noodle soup (broth with noodles) and Pad Thai (fried noodles with tofu and shrimp). Typically, a dish in a street cafe costs 30-80 baht, and a hearty lunch for two is unlikely to exceed 200 baht.
  1. Personally, I usually do this. Having arrived at the place, I filter all nearby cafes and restaurants by price in the Tripadvisor mobile application, and then I go around the cheapest, but at the same time the coolest reviews.

Free Bangkok

  1. With a ticket to Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), you can visit Dusit Park with its extraordinary palaces.
  1. Chinatown. In addition to the obvious Chinese exoticism, all temples in Chinatown are open to free admission.
  1. When planning a boat trip to Chao Phraya, main river cities, choose boats with a blue flag. Although they are slower, the trip costs only 4 baht.

Phuket boats
  1. On the Golden Mountain with the Wat Saket complex it is nice to watch a free sunset, but you can also leave a donation of 10 baht.
  1. A visit to the huge Chatuchak market is free, but of course you have to pay for goods. At the same time, no one bothers you to bargain until you lose your voice. There is everything from consumer goods to rare antiques.
  1. Muay Thai is world famous. Want to watch a real fight for free? Go to shopping mall MBK on Wednesday from 18.00 to 20.30 and you can see the famous Muay Thai.

So, we start combing online for 2-3 months in search of “freebies”. Specialized resources will help us with this, the best of which can be called Aviasales.ru and skyscanner.ru. Popularly, such resources are called aggregators.

Let us outline the selection criteria for purchasing cheap tickets to Thailand:

Let's move on to the passenger section. Here you need to indicate the number of adult passengers, infants and children whose age does not exceed 12 years. The final touch is the class you intend to fly in: economy or business.
  2. Search. Press the “Find” button. You will have to wait patiently for some time. Then you will see a list of tickets offered. On the right you will see a column in which you can adjust your search parameters.
  3. Buying a ticket. The final stage. Having decided, click on the “Buy” button. You will be redirected to the airline’s resource, where you will have to enter information about passengers, contact information and, of course, pay for the purchased ticket using a plastic card. You can check in for a flight remotely, via the Internet, a day before the flight. From a PC or airport terminal you print boarding pass. That's all, actually.

The most popular queries are:

  1. Moscow — Bangkok
  2. Kyiv — Bangkok
  3. Bangkok - Samui
  4. Moscow — Phuket

Charter flights to Thailand are now being concentrated in two key directions: Phuket and Bangkok. The advantage of charters is that they are cheaper than regular direct message. There are no beaches in Bangkok, so many people strive to get to the coast of the Gulf of Thailand. Chartered flight- the only thread that leads you directly to Phuket.

It is better to use the services of native companies (Aeroflot and Transaero). If you take a charter for the spring, you can save a very decent amount. Airfare to Thailand (depending on season) can fluctuate between 70 and 400 dollars. Agree, the contrast is impressive.

Increasingly, charters are being sold outside of travel packages. Last minute charters are the apotheosis of savings. It is better to take them in March or November - these are the months marking alpha and omega tourist season. In the summer, it is extremely difficult to find last minute offers. Although, if you are patient, it is quite possible.

When is the best time to fly?

When planning a holiday to Thailand, make sure you don't fly in August or September. The seething waters on the streets during the rainy season will irrevocably ruin any vacation (however, there are exceptions to any rule, more on that below).

Optimal winter period(November-February)- summer heat, warm and calm sea. The only place you can encounter strong waves is in Phuket.

Return ticket from Thailand

It also happens that, flattered by the cheapness, we did not purchase a return ticket, hoping to choose the best option on the spot. How to buy a ticket to your home country while in Thailand?

We start, as always, with network monitoring. Noticed the right ticket- Contact us immediately by phone or email. Or better yet, via Skype. Agree with the travel agency about payment for the flight.

There are different schemes:

  • Bank. Go to a local bank and deposit the required amount into the account specified by the tour operator. This is the fastest and most reliable way.
  • Cash payment. Come to a representative of the company and personally hand him crispy banknotes. The problem may arise if you are in the jungle and Phuket or Bangkok are 200 kilometers away.
  • Good relatives. Call them and ask them to pay for your flight at the company's Moscow office. A simple and well proven method.
  1. Stock up on round-trip tickets - it’s more economical.
  2. A charter flight is the cheapest.
  3. Look for tickets 2-3 months before the flight.
  4. Reconsider your attitude towards the rainy season. This time of year is not popular with tourists, but it doesn’t rain every day in Thailand.
  5. Pattaya will cost you the cheapest.
  6. No need to support tour operators - book your tickets yourself.
  7. Last minute tickets are valid for 15 days.
  8. If fly with 1 transfer - you will save significantly. You should fly through Cairo, Doha, Guangzhou, Abu Dhabi or Dubai.
  9. You can also find relatively cheap direct flights in one direction. This is a conscious risk - it is unknown what you will fly back on.
  10. Daily Internet monitoring is the key to your success.
