All Goa beaches with photos, descriptions and reviews. All beaches and resorts of South Goa, India: our review, photos, description

On the territory of South Goa there is a very big number sandy beaches located along the entire coastline.

The beaches of Goa attract tourists every year due to the pleasant sand underfoot, warm waters, and soft Goan flavors. The water temperature almost constantly remains at around 28 - 29°C, in May it can reach 30°C. Any time of the year on the beaches of Goa big waves. The bottom is sandy, the depth increase is quite smooth. Among the living creatures found on the beaches are crabs and turtles. You can see schools of fish in the water. It is not often that you come across jellyfish, the burn from which can be painful.

The swimming season in Goa lasts all year round, but during the rainy season (from June to September) there are practically no tourists here, only local vacationers appear on the beaches. But in tourist season, which lasts from October to May, Goan beaches are never empty. All beaches in Goa are municipal, which means that they belong to the state and cannot be privately owned. All Goan beaches are freely accessible to everyone.

In the southern part of the state, in contrast, there are practically no clubs, discos and trance parties so popular in Goa. They are also held here. Hotels on south Goa mainly categories 4* and 5*. South part state is more suitable for family vacation.

So, we offer a description of the beaches of South Goa, in order of location from north to south.

Bogmalo beach)

Most north beach South Goa, located just 5 km from Dabolim Airport. The beach is not particularly popular among lovers beach holiday, and the tourism infrastructure here is poorly developed. However, there are several hotels in Bogmalo high level. The beach area is small and very picturesque, surrounded by green hills.

Velsao beach

Another uncrowded beach in South Goa. There is no entertainment here, except for a couple of sheks. Velsao Beach is small in size and looks like a fairly narrow strip of sand. A few kilometers from Velsao there is a fertilizer plant, which spoils the pleasant picture of the entire area.

Cansaulim Beachbeach)

Enough clean beach with light sand. This place becomes especially popular in early January. Every year at this time the Feast of the Magi, or, as it is also called, the Feast of the Three Kings, is held here. It is celebrated by Indian Catholics, of whom there are many living in Goa. On this day, three boys aged between 8 and 10 years are selected from different nearby villages. They are dressed up as wise men, and an illustration of the Biblical history. The boys, dressed as Magi, must take gifts to the church on the hill, which houses a statue of the baby Jesus. The joyful celebration begins the moment the “three kings” enter the church. Throughout the day in Cansaulim there is only music, dancing and fire performances.

Arossim beach)

Another small, uncrowded beach that allows you to enjoy the Goan beauty almost completely alone. The landscape of Arossima is a wide strip of light sand and an abundance of vegetation.

Utorda beach)

A beach surrounded on all sides by palm trees. Beach strip wide, light sand. There are several hotels and many sheks on the shore.

Majorda beach

Here the sparsely populated beaches of the northern part of South Goa end and an almost 30-kilometer strip of developed beaches with a well-developed tourist infrastructure, an abundance of hotels, guesthouses, shops, sheks, bars and restaurants begins. It is believed that it was in Majorda that the juice from the trunk was once first obtained coconut tree, called toddy. The Jesuits used this juice to make bread by fermenting dough. Toddy is also used to prepare one of the varieties of feni, a local alcoholic drink.

(Betalbatim beach)

It is a wide strip of light sand, surrounded by pine trees. Despite the fact that it is located between the two largest tourist centers of South Goa (Majorda and Colva), the beach remains relatively uncrowded even in high season.

(Colva beach)

Main tourist centre all of South Goa. It is characterized by an abundance of tourists; most tourist packages are sold to these places. In addition, on weekends there are a lot of holidaymakers from Margao, the second largest city in Goa, located just 8 km from Colva. There are a huge number of hotels and restaurants located here.

(Benaulim beach)

This beach is described in a Hindu legend. Hindus believe that Benaulim was created by God Vishnu when he, in the form of Sri Parshuram, shot an arrow into the sea from the top of the Western Ghats mountains and ordered the waters to recede. The place where the arrow landed was called Banali, which literally translates from Sanskrit as “the place where the arrow fell.” Later the name gradually transformed into Benaulim.

The beach is quite spacious, the sand is light. The tourism industry here began to develop relatively recently. There are few “package” tourists here, but there are many visitors who live in Goa for a long time. Benaulim is considered one of the best places for long-term stay in South Goa.

(Varca beach)

Located 2 km south of Benaulim. The area is very large, wide coastal strip, White sand. The beach is quiet and calm. There are shakes and restaurants on the shore; the center of the village is located away from the sea.

(Cavelossim beach)

This is also quite a popular Goan beach. Cavelossim Beach combines soft white sand with protruding black volcanic rocks in some places. There is a ferry here that can take you across the Sal River to the more southern beaches. Cavelossim is distinguished by an abundance of respectable hotels.

(Mobor beach)

Mobor Beach is surrounded by the Sal River and coconut plantations. The beach is wide, with light sand. Due to the Sal River flowing into the Arabian Sea at an acute angle, strong currents are possible in the southern part of Mobor. The largest number of high-class hotels are located here.

(Betul beach)

It is located on the other side of the Sal River, and can be reached from Mobor by motor boat. In the middle of the river you can see local residents, engaged in a rather unusual activity - catching oysters with their toes. And in shekis on the beach you can always try dishes from the freshest seafood, regularly supplied here by local fishermen. There are not many tourists here. Visitors mostly stay in guesthouse restaurants that rent out rooms. There are also a couple of hotels in the village.

Canaguinim beach

Small rocky sand beach, surrounded by low cliffs. Very sparsely populated. There are no hotels here, but rooms are often available for rent in the village. Suitable for those who crave a secluded holiday in places unspoiled by crowds of tourists, and with preserved pristine nature.

Cabo beach/Rambaug beach)

Very small beach, located near the Cabo da Rama fort. Tourist infrastructure practically none, although tourists often come here, and this is one of the favorite vacation spots of the local population.

Kakolem / Kankola Beach ( Kakolem beach / Kancola beach)

Deserted and very small beach. The descent to the beach is quite steep, and the climb up during hot daylight hours can become very tiring. There is a sharp increase in depth in the water, due to which there are always large waves in this place. When swimming, you need to be careful because there are rocks under the water.

Cola beach)

Located 8 km from Canaguinim. The entire area is divided into two parts - Little Kola and Big Kola. These beaches are considered one of the most beautiful in South Goa, and this is not surprising, because all the pristine beauty of nature has been preserved here. The landscape here is very picturesque: soft yellow sand, an abundance of palm trees and other vegetation, a river flowing into the sea and forming freshwater lake with very warm water (and the sand at the bottom is even warmer than the water). There are practically no people here, just as there are no hotels, restaurants and other amenities of civilization.

(Agonda beach)

Agonda Beach has a very large area; it stretches for a three-kilometer strip of sand, sometimes with protruding stones. The beach is not particularly crowded. There are a large number of sheks and bungalows on the shore.

(Butterfly beach)

A small beach that can only be reached by boat from Palolem. There are a couple of sheks on the beach. The beach was named Butterfly, which translates as “Butterfly”, because of the shape of this beach, reminiscent of a huge butterfly.

(Palolem beach)

The beach is in the shape of an even semicircle. At Palolem Beach, dense vegetation is combined with soft light sand, sometimes creaking underfoot like snow. There is a gentle approach to the sea and protection from waves, which makes Palolem a good place for swimming. There are few hotels here; those who come to Palolem on vacation usually live in small bungalows on the beach. There are practically no tourist vouchers for sale to this place. Just recently, Palolem was a completely untouched and unknown beach, but now this place is very popular among tourists. Holidays on Palolem beach are often the final part of many due to its convenient location, natural beauty and developed tourist infrastructure.

Colomb beach)

Located south of Palolem behind the rocks. Became known to many after its opening health complex Bakti Kutir, which is positioned as an environmentally friendly complex made from local materials. There are many huts located on the beach.

Putnam beach)

It is a small bay, protected from waves. There are not many tourists in Patnem, but still it cannot be called sparsely populated. There are shakes, restaurants and thatched bungalows on the beach.

Rajbag beach)

Quiet and quiet place, but not very good for swimming, because... There are undercurrents here. There are only a couple of hotels here.

(Talpona beach)

You can get here by crossing from Palolem across a narrow bridge to the other side of the Talpon River. Due to such a secluded location, Talpona is a very calm, quiet beach and not very crowded.

(Galjibaga beach)

It is located near the mouth of the river of the same name, about five kilometers south of Palolem. The beach is practically deserted and very quiet, probably due to its inaccessibility, because it is located between two rivers - Galdzhibaga and Talpona. You can get there by driving from Palolem towards Patnem along the coastal road, then to Canacona railway station. You need to turn right after the intersection railway and go to the Talpon River. The road turns left to a small bridge, after crossing which you need to turn right to the beaches of Talpon and Galjibagh.

Polem beach)

The southernmost beach of Goa, located on the border of Goa and Karnataka. Polem beach is small and completely deserted due to its remoteness. There are no tourists here, only Indians from nearby villages sometimes come to relax in these places. There is a village along the entire coast, so this place is still not for those looking for complete privacy.

Goa is one of those resorts that is simply... love in Russia. The thing is that the local season begins in October, when other sunny resorts, such as Greece and Turkey, stop operating. This is why travelers dream of celebrating in Goa new year holidays, getting acquainted with Indian culture.

General information about Goa beaches

Before you go to local resorts, you need to decide on a hotel for your vacation. The most important characteristic when choosing a hotel is proximity to numerous attractions and a variety of beaches.

In Goa itself there are several dozen beaches, each of which is interesting in its own way. For example, in north Goa wild beaches predominate, where there are very few people, and where you can relax from the eternal noise and din of the Indian tourist capital. In the south of Goa There are both popular and wild beaches, each of which deserves attention.

What Indian beaches can be called the most attractive and interesting for relaxation?

Arambol Beach

Arambol beach in Goa can be easily compared to sandy Patong in. Here also a lot of people, parties and various discos are held regularly. During the day, a dance school and yoga classes are held nearby.

The local sandy beach stretches for several kilometers, but people still don’t have enough space here. Popularity and crowdedness can be considered among the disadvantages of this beach. Among the advantages It is worth noting the magnificent sand, as well as the picturesque local views and the smooth entry into the water.

Arambol Beach is more suitable for youth recreation than for family time.

Mandrem Beach

If travelers do not want to be too far away from the fun nightlife, but still dream of relaxing on the beach, then Mandrem Beach is their ideal choice in Goa. This beach is located not far from Arambol, but it is much quieter here. The place is popular among married couples, the entrance to the water is very smooth, there are no stones at all.

Among the disadvantages, it can be noted that there are practically no shopping shops here, but precisely because of the low popularity of the beach, this beautiful place remains like this not crowded.

Morjim Beach

This place is called "Russian village", since this is where Russians themselves most often vacation, and immigrants from Russia prefer to settle near the beach.

Anjuna Beach

The local beach is considered one of the most inconvenient for relaxation, since it is strewn with shells, and the entrance to the water is sometimes stone. Then why do many travelers tend to stay near Anjuna?

Top 5 best beaches in South Goa

South Goa is considered more picturesque and attractive for recreation, and therefore it is here that those tourists who are not limited in funds tend to go. Since 4* and 5* hotels are located here, a holiday in the southern part of Goa is considered more expensive and luxurious. Local beaches are also distinguished by the highest comfort. Which of them are considered the most popular?

Palolem Beach is one of the southernmost beaches in all of Goa, famous for its magnificent landscapes and optimal conditions for relaxation. There are many shops and several cafes here, so the beach is very popular.

The right beach for romantics and lovers relaxing holiday. There are practically no people here, but the sandy shore itself leaves only positive emotions. Entry into the water is very smooth, while the sea is calm and clean.

Agonda Beach

Agonda Beach is suitable for those who adore relax in comfort. Local hotels offer very high prices for accommodation, but not far from the beach itself there is a campsite where you can pitch a tent for a small fee.

Varca Beach

A very popular beach, where a large number of tourists from hotels located nearby usually gather.

Varca Beach offers travelers a lot of different entertainment. For example, here you can rent a boat and go out to the open sea and admire the dolphins. A very picturesque place for those who are not afraid of noise and crowds.

If a traveler does not want to have problems with finding a sun lounger on the beach and with crowds, he should choose hotels in Goa with their own beaches. It is in such hotels that vacation becomes much more comfortable, but it is much more difficult to experience the colorfulness of the country.

So, which hotels offer the best beach holidays?

  1. Cuba Mandrem Retreat 3*
This hotel does not have own beach, but Ashvem, Mandrem, Morjim are located nearby. Among such diversity, you can easily choose exactly the beach that seems the most picturesque and fun. The hotel itself has 3 stars, and holidays here almost always remain budget-friendly.
  2. Beleza By The Beach 4*
The hotel has its own private beach, adjacent to Colva Beach. Since only hotel guests can relax on the local beach area of 2 hectares, there are never any problems with the lack of sun loungers. A very interesting and picturesque place to relax.
  3. Ocean Palms Goa 4*
The hotel itself is 4 stars, located near Calangute beach and offers optimal conditions for relaxation. Local picturesque beach will delight you with its sparsely populated area, and the presence of a spa complex and fitness center on site will satisfy even the most demanding travelers.

This 5 star hotel has a private beach adjacent to Majorda Beach. Relaxing here is always interesting and pleasant, because the local species pleasantly surprise with their diversity, and the presence of numerous restaurants and cafes does not allow you to get bored. The hotel itself offers many attractions for tourists, from the Spa to its own library.

Going to an unfamiliar country for the first time is always scary, so it’s better to take note of the advice of experienced travelers in advance.

  1. Firstly, you should choose a hotel based on the availability of a private beach, because then your vacation will be more eventful and varied.
  2. Secondly, travelers better spare no expense and go to the open sea to look at dolphins. The impressions will remain unforgettable.
  3. Thirdly, it is better to come to freely accessible beaches, especially popular ones, in advance, as early as possible in the morning. The fact is that on popular beaches the sunbeds are occupied very quickly, and by the middle of the day there are no more places left, so you have to wait your turn.
  4. Fourthly, it is better to purchase souvenirs and various gifts for relatives away from the most popular beaches, because the prices here are as high as possible.

The best beaches in South Goa - video

Let's now take a closer look at the best beaches in South Goa and watch the video.

Cloudy autumn, snowy winter and chilly spring in the Northern Hemisphere - it's time to go on vacation to somewhere warmer. In India, many people choose Goa beaches. Advertising brochures beckon the gentle ocean, bright sunsets, palm trees and sand. Before choosing, it makes sense to read reviews of beaches and reviews from tourists. Often reality is much different from glossy photos or advertising videos.

Which Indian beaches are included in the state of Goa?

One of the most famous resort states in India, Goa is famous for its hundred-kilometer coastline. Almost the entire coastline is of great interest for beach holidays. On Goa map resorts densely fill the coastal strip, stretching from north to south. The border passes through Fort Aguada. Northern part begins with Candolim and Sinquerim, and ends with Arambol and Kerim.

In the south, a cozy coast stretches from Polem and almost to Bogmalo.

Coast map in Russian

Map Goa is better have it with you in paper form. During independent travel An unpleasant surprise could be a lack of communication.

Beaches for families

The most suitable Goa beaches for family holidays are located on the southern coast. In all respects it is more comfortable and quiet there. If you choose Palolem, then, as opposed to weekly parties, the waves will be less powerful and swimming will be safer.

IN north goa A vacation on the line from Morjim to Arambol is better suited to this characteristic.

The cleanest coast

In India, cleanliness is not the easiest to deal with. That's why Goa resorts unpleasantly affected by garbage. Its quantity on different beaches varies, but its presence is inevitable.

The respectable beaches of southern Goa are cleaner, but you can also find cozy corners: The sandy line from Morjim to Mandrem fits well with the description of the resorts.

Cities and settlements in Goa are uniformly polluted: garbage and landfills are a normal occurrence, as elsewhere in India.

The most beautiful beaches

If you are attracted by this kind of paradise on earth, and the travel agency showed you a photo of Goa with white sand, then when you meet it in person you may be disappointed. The sand here is not snow-white.

The most beautiful beaches in Goa, unfortunately, do not always guarantee absolute cleanliness. Although the resorts of India have no equal in the beauty of sunsets, eclecticism of architecture, landscape and nature. Made in Goa photo, will delight you for a long time with their atmosphere and bright colors.

Beauty is a relative concept and very subjective. It can be found literally in every corner of tropical resorts. Goa has no shortage of beaches. There is plenty of sun, greenery and sea. Everyone will find their own aesthetic. Some people prefer Betalbatim or Varka on the southern coast, while others think the beaches of Anjuna or Vagator in the north are more beautiful.

White sand beaches

The coast is covered with light, different shades, reaching downright dark, volcanic formations. A beautiful beach with white sands is nonsense for Goa.

On top of that, the beaches of northern and southern Goa periodically become downright dirty due to the surf and tourists.

Not snow-white, but the lightest sand lies on southern shores Goa. In the north, the sand is darker, in places downright gray, even almost brown.

In Kerim, on the Candolim-Baga line, and then Morjim-Mandrem, the coast becomes light. The shades are different; patches of yellow and gray predominate.

Beaches in Goa without waves

In fact, the coast is quite uniform and is equally exposed to the elements. You can find local bays, where it will be calmer and quieter. Although there are waves everywhere.

Wild beaches

Wild beaches in Goa are now a rarity. Tourists have explored almost the entire coastline.

In my own way beautiful beach Kerim can be called wild. There are very few tourists here. According to reviews, there is practically no infrastructure. In the south to wild beaches can be attributed to Talpon, Galjibag and Polem.

The most party beach in Goa

If you are attracted to the famous trance movement in music or communication with non-standard people, you are welcome to north coast. From Anjuna to Arambol (increasingly), some people spend their time in the most extraordinary ways.

More understandable, wild alcohol-pop discos are concentrated in northern and southern Goa in places where package tourists gather: in Baga, Calangute, Colva, Candolim.

In Palolem there is a light version of pop and entertaining dance performances. Tourists gather here for a party wearing headphones. It looks very interesting live and on video.

Nudist beaches

Goans do not approve of nudity in public places for religious reasons. You shouldn't count on freedom of morals. Although nudists find deserted corners on the islands adjacent to the state or in closed bays on the coast. For example, between the beaches of Ashvema and Mandrem, improvised nudist beaches periodically appear.

To have fewer Indians

Resorts in Goa attract not only Europeans. On weekends, or on the occasion of Indian holidays, the coast, according to tourists, becomes very crowded with local vacationers. Most of them are in Baga, Colva, Calangute and Palolem. On the rest, Indians are not uncommon. Although in the southern part they prefer to stay close to central entrances. Morjim is the other extreme. There are many tourists here and locals often speak Russian.

To reduce pestering on the beach

If you are not delighted with the friendly but very intrusive merchants, the best option is to go to the south coast. There are much fewer of them there.

North Goa will not please you in this regard. At your service there will be a massage, glasses, fruits, and locally produced clothing. Starting early in the morning. Playing dead won't work. In India it is national peculiarity- at all costs to instill in you the idea of buying. However, Ashvem, Arambol, as well as Mandrem and Morjim stand out for the better.

Beaches for running

It so happens that people who are far from a healthy lifestyle vacation in the northern part of the state. You can run everywhere here, but in Anjuna and Vagator it will be uncomfortable.

Respectable tourists vacation in the south and do not abandon healthy habits during their vacation. This is facilitated by a convenient coastline. According to reviews, the entire coastline is suitable for this purpose, especially with white sand.

For cycling

The sand is not conducive to cycling, and the roads are densely populated by mopeds and scooters. This is especially true for the northern part of the coast. If you wish, you can drive along the coastline from Morjim to Arambol. Be prepared for several small streams along the way. The best route for cycling is on the southern beaches of Goa: Mobor – Velsao.

Various cafes and delicious food

There are a variety of shakes almost everywhere. Are there not many of them in Kerim? But also there travel business will get there sooner or later.

The largest selection of cafes on crowded beaches. By diversity south goa does not lag behind the northern one. The menu will delight you: from Indian cuisine to quite decent European cuisine. Russian, Jewish, Mediterranean are not uncommon on the coast. According to reviews from tourists, despite different tastes, all the food is mostly very tasty.

Absence of cows and dogs among vacationers

Cows are sacred animals for India. They are everywhere. Somewhere less, for example, somewhere more. It is not customary to kick them out. Dogs live in small flocks wherever there are people.

When coming to Goa in search of a vacation, please note: the state is part of India. The color, traditions and mentality of the Goans, although greatly diluted by the long-term expansion of Europeans, still retain the main features and characteristics of Indian culture.

We highly recommend not spending your holidays here. North Goa is the most party beaches in India; they are good for creative people, young people who are looking for something new. But for lovers of beach holidays, you need to know that the top beaches of Goa are located in the south.

All beaches of North Goa on the map

You can go here or go when you are already tired of other beaches

We see no reason to go here on vacation

This beach is also known as Keri, and is located in the very north of Goa, near the Tirakol fort. The old Portuguese fort and the 17th century church are the main attractions of Kerim Beach, which is still quite calm and not overrun by tourists. The sea here is quite calm, the waves are small. Fort Tiracol, now converted into a hotel, can be visited by boat, which sails every half hour. Every evening on the beach you can see a beautiful scene - many fishing boats go out to sea at 6 pm to return back to the beach the next day at 5 am. From aquatic species The most popular sport is paragliding. But swimming here is unsafe, especially near the mouth of the Tirakol River. Worth a visit just to check the box

  • Arambol beach is located one and a half kilometers from the village of the same name in northern Goa, next to the beaches and.
  • The beach is dotted with bars and cafes and is very popular among young people
  • But in fact, this is more of a promoted brand than a beach
  • The resort began to actively develop in 2002, when the Siolim Bridge was built across Chapora, but it quickly caught up with the neighboring beaches in popularity.
  • Known primarily as a hangout place for unconventional people from all over the world. Hipsters, hippies, artists, performers, and others.
  • The beach itself is of rather poor quality, there are a lot of cows on it, and the sea is not convenient for swimming.

Grade 4.0/5 | Budget: 70-90 thousand per week for two | Entertainment: beaching, sealing

One of the quietest beaches in Goa, the best beach in North Goa.

Not much to do and quite far from the main party areas

There is plenty of budget accommodation, but quality accommodation is slightly more expensive than in the main resorts.

It’s worth coming here to live in inexpensive housing and lie on a good beach every day, forgetting about your active life. Great place for meditation!

Far from the airport and the center of Goa

A great option is to fly here on a last-minute tour when you’ve had everything, and spend a week alone with yourself and nature.

Grade 3.8/5 | Budget: 80-100 thousand per week for two | Entertainment: beaching, parties, waterfalls

Nice beach, but already too popular among tourists.

Fairly developed nightlife.

Hotel prices are slightly higher than on neighboring beaches.

As in all of Goa, there is a rather meager choice of excursions.

It is worth considering as an option for young tourists looking for nightlife entertainment.

Grade 4.2/5 | Budget: 80-100 thousand per week for two | Entertainment: beaching, sealing, kitesurfing, communicating with Russians

The beach is a good choice for those who don’t mind the proximity of many Russians.

The beach itself is good for beaching and sealing, as well as kitesurfing.

Choose it if you don't really like noisy crowds.

  • Morjim Beach is located in a small village of the same name, 60 km from Dabolim Airport and 27 km from the state capital - Panaji.
  • In the north, Morjim borders on the beach, and in its southern part the Chapora River flows, on the opposite bank of which the beach is adjacent.
  • Back in the 2000s, immigrants from the CIS countries began to settle in this village, opening hotels, cafes and restaurants here. Since then, Morjim has become a favorite place among tourists from Russia, so it can rightfully be considered the most Russian beach in North Goa. There is even a “Russian Street” here, on which all establishments are owned by our compatriots.
  • In addition to the picturesque nature, Morjim will delight you with a variety of fauna. There are hermit crabs on the shore, sea stars, and the left (southern) side ends in a protected, reserved area - this is turtle beach(Turtle Beach). Rare olive turtles, which are listed in the Red Book, live and breed here. Small turtles can be observed from November to March, but touching them is strictly prohibited. Sometimes cows and dogs come to the beach.
  • Palm trees and casuarinas grow along the coast.
  • The sand and sea are clean, as garbage is removed daily.
  • Morjim is a calm, uncrowded place, even in high season. And due to the crisis in Russia, there have been even fewer tourists recently.
  • The length of the beach is about 3 kilometers. Coastline wide – around 100 meters.
  • It is very shallow, you will have to go to a depth of several tens of meters.
  • The sand is light gray in color, fine-grained and dense.
  • In the southern part of the beach, where Chapora flows into the sea, there are large waves and wind. Lifeguards often display red flags to warn of strong currents that can sweep a person out to sea. In the center and north of Morjim the water is usually calm.
  • Shower taps are installed on the shore. There are no beggars. Souvenir sellers, street food pass infrequently.
  • The shade of the trees does not reach the beach, but there are enough umbrellas and awnings with sun loungers. All these amenities are owned by the beach cafe-shacks. You can use the sunbeds for free, but as a sign of gratitude and respect to the owner of the cafe, you should buy something, at least a glass of juice or water.

Grade 3.3/5 | Budget: 80-100 thousand per week for two | Entertainment: party, Chapora fort, Shiva sculpture

There is no reason why you would choose this beach as your holiday destination

Party, dirt, congestion

  • Vagator Beach is located in North Goa, to the north, 10 kilometers from Mapusa.
  • Nearby are the ruins of Chapora Fort, the main attraction of the region.
  • Historically, the beach was the venue for the largest open air event in Goa, but recently the authorities have banned its holding.
  • The quality of the beach itself is far from ideal - there is no convenient entrance to the sea, the sand is gray, the water is sometimes very muddy

Grade 3.7/5 | Budget: 80-100 thousand per week for two | Entertainment: trance, cafe, drinking, swap meet

Treat this beach like a nightclub, not a beach

Come here only if you are young, hot, and want to try everything in life. And go to the beach sometime later.

Anjuna Beach is located in North Goa, at a distance of 18 kilometers from Panaji. This is an extremely lively place, the center of parties, where you can always drink and meet other tourists. Actually, Anjuna should not be perceived as a beach - it has long been more convenient for cows than for people.

Grade 3.7/5 | Budget: 80-100 thousand per week for two | Entertainment: nightclubs, night market, party

  • Baga Beach is located in North Goa, at a distance of 9 kilometers from Mapusa and 16 kilometers from Panaji.
