I decided to write my first review about the hotel and about the holiday in general, since I myself chose Vietnam based on reviews and was slightly surprised by the inconsistency between what was written in the reviews and what I saw with my own eyes. Please do not take everything with harsh criticism, I am writing truthful information for tourists who are accustomed to comfortable rest and are not used to unexpected disappointments.
So, let's begin:
1. General impression.
We were on holiday with friends as married couples, we decided to choose this country because of its quite exotic nature, normal weather for the time we chose, and naturally because huge amount available seafood. The hotel was suggested to us by a travel agency, after looking at the area, rooms in the photo and reading reviews, we expected to see service, comfort, delicious seafood dishes and a variety of entertainment, now everything is in order:
2. Rooms:
All rooms are bungalows, quite spacious (we stayed in a deluxe bungalow), but absolutely not giving a feeling of complete comfort, the room has all the standard options, a large bed, air conditioning (cannot cope with the heat in August), a safe, a hairdryer (which barely -barely dries), TV, free internet (wi-fi at a decent speed, downloaded movies), kettle, refrigerator with minibar (prices do not include 15% service charge and some kind of state tax), in general everything seems to be standard, but now about many BUT, all kinds of living creatures such as lizards and cockroaches calmly penetrate into the rooms, if the latter did not frighten us much, we were ready for this, then the lizards were constantly swarming in the roof, which is made of palm leaves and pooped, precisely pooped on bed, you're lying in bed, watching TV or surfing the internet and then a poop falls from above... On the bed linen... I've never seen anything like this anywhere... The bathroom is a separate matter, it's closed from prying eyes but it's sort of on the street, so the birds , beetles, wasps, spiders, healthy snails and praying mantises roam around there at night and sometimes during the day with great joy. Not very nice, would you agree?! After each night, the wife carefully examined the bathroom area for new living creatures.
3. Food:
This is a separate topic that subsequently worried the male half of our company most of all. We were told about the ridiculous prices for food in Vietnam, 200 rubles and you are full all day! I'll start with the food at the hotel itself - it's terrible. They don’t know how to cook, the menu, although in Russian, was translated by a translator on the Internet, ribeye steak - rib eye, shrimp on a grilled skewer - mouse shrimp, rack of lamb - lamb jacket and everything like that. We only had breakfast included, not everyone had it and not every day, there was a standard small set of the level of a 3-star hotel in Thailand. The buffet was of an average level, 2-4 drinks, fruits, buns and cakes were very so-so, the fact that the restaurant was open and all this was right on the street did not cause any appetite, and the heat began in the morning and it was difficult to eat. Now about the paid part of lunches and dinners at the hotel. Prices are very decent for Vietnam. A meal for four of us, a simple dish for each and something for everyone, 3-7 drinks such as beer and freshly squeezed juice cost us about $100, lunch for 2 of us was $35-55. I repeat once again that the food there is either bad or completely bad. We ordered scrambled eggs and bacon from the menu, the first time it cost us 5 dollars, and when we ordered it a second time the next day, the price rose to 7.5 dollars, apparently the popularity of the dish automatically increases its price. All prices in the menu, as well as in the minibar in the room, are indicated without additional charges. 15% for service and government. tax With strong alcohol, everything is also funny, we took a Cuba Libre cocktail, the bartender mixed the base beautifully, cola, ice, lime and lightly splashed rum on top for taste, I asked how he measured it, by eye or something, I’m here It was said that their dosage was like 45 grams and they poured the cocktail from a measuring glass. All cocktails are $5-7, and very mediocre. One more thing about soups at the hotel, we tried several, but 1 soup received special attention, they brought it to us in a huge festive saucepan-dish, everything is beautiful, we open this vessel and inside there are 5-6 sheets of some kind of greenery, broth and 1 pork or beef meatball, divided into many parts for taste. There weren’t very many seafood delicacies in the hotel, on the public territory there was a restaurant supposedly with fresh seafood, in front of you they take out shrimps, crabs, oysters, shells from oxygen-enriched aquariums and basins with water and cook them, but we didn’t eat there, as there were rumors about dubious freshness seafood in this place, in the main restaurant there were also aquariums but mostly empty, some fish were swimming in one, but the color of the water in the tank did not cause appetite. I’ll talk about seafood and food in the city at the very end, while I continue about the hotel.
4. Staff and service.
This is a separate story, let's start with the staff. It seems that he was recruited to the hotel on the basis that he would rest there indigenous people, although the hotel was 90% filled with our compatriots, they speak little or no English, sometimes you had to order food and services by pointing your finger at a booklet or menu, the staff is rude and arrogant, they sit in the bungalow loggias on chairs intended for vacationers and wait while you take down the “do not disturb” sign so they can clean the room. They are cleaned poorly, they are wiped out of series - where you can see, the towels seem to be clean but with stains, they did not give us a special feeling of the freshness of the laundry. Bartenders and waiters may openly laugh at you and point fingers. They are very, very slow, but they keep an unrealistic eye on all the junk in the room. We broke the glass, and the next day we were instantly billed for it. If you change money at the reception, they may not give you another dollar, as if by chance, by chance, if you don’t tell them about it. In short, both the staff and the Vietnamese in general are rude. In a restaurant, both in a hotel and in the city, the staff yells and discusses something loudly among themselves, regardless of the level of the establishment. This seems to be normal for them. When leaving the hotel, they tried to sell us a bill for 5 broken glasses for 2 rooms, citing that the cleaning lady did not find them 5 minutes after we left the room, but this situation was resolved. They also tried to deceive several more of our fellow citizens, attributing to some a stolen umbrella, and to others broken electronics. Divorce also seems to be in the order of things for them. The first time I saw a maid come with a bellboy to check the room. Someone told us that the hotel owner is a terrible redneck.
5. Hotel grounds and nature
Now I’ll share my impressions about the hotel territory, the islands and nature. The territory itself is green, the part that is constantly cleaned in plain sight, but I can’t say that it is of high quality (for three days there were cups from a women’s swimsuit lying on the path, not far from the reception) well, this is not the most important thing, in general, there is quite a lot of greenery, flowers grow in small quantities, coconut trees, among them gazebos for massage. The beach is almost empty, the sun loungers are always free, by the sea they are one hundred percent free, a little higher, on the stone podium they are more often occupied, where people were escaping the heat in the shade. The sun loungers are soft, but a little dirty, you can lie down. The sea is clean, but not always, there was often garbage in the form of straws, napkins, plastic containers and personal hygiene products, but you can swim, the water in August is warm, sometimes I even wanted it to be a little cooler. There are two swimming pools on the territory, one for everyone who comes to the island, the second, only for hotel guests. We almost didn’t swim in the pool, since the water temperature in it was extremely high, like fresh milk. The other, distant part of the territory looks a little neglected and is less well maintained, but we only went there a few times, so it didn’t bother us much. There is a tennis court, we even played once, the court is good, but it was hard to play - it was too hot, there is a golf course, which also looked decent, but we didn’t use it. To sum up point 5, I will say that the hotel, like its territory, is more suitable for people who love a calm, sluggish and boring holiday, since there are few people, there are no show programs and in general the hotel is extremely boring. It is possible that someone will like it for a very calm and harmonious holiday with children, but do not forget about the food...
Now I’ll write about the whole vacation as a whole, a little on my own, moving away from the plan about the hotel, I’ll write from and to:
We flew with Vietnamese airlines, from Domodedovo to Nha Trang, the plane was old, Boeing 777, seat layout 2 5 2, from Moscow the food and service was bad, the second time they gave me something like dog food or bad stew, they didn’t eat it, they gave out alcohol but not much, no one offered much, if you ask they will give you, mostly they took beer. We arrived on time, the airport was small, stuffy and slow, we stood there for over an hour.
We were met on time by a Westline operator with a local employee who speaks fairly little Russian, the bus was comfortable, we got there quite quickly, about 40-45 minutes with delivery to 2 more hotels. Next to the pier, we were loaded onto the ship to the hotel, there ourselves, without tour operator support. Then I wrote everything about the hotel, now I’ll write about the other nuances. On the very first evening we realized that we needed to go to the city and buy food and drinks with us too. We bought everything and when we were driving back, the receptionist at the pier told us that we couldn’t take a lot of beer and chips with rum to the island (what if we sold it there) and that we had to pay extra for it. We resolved this issue without additional payment; also, subsequently they wanted to issue us an invoice for fruit purchased at the local market.
The Vietnamese are simple people, they try to scam everyone out of money. The issue with fruits was also resolved. Now, regarding taxis, we used a taximeter and on average paid between 4-6 dollars per trip. The main topic was where to eat, going there we were sure that everything was delicious everywhere and cost 3 rubles. This is an erroneous opinion (I will say based on the experience of the trip, someone may not agree). There are a lot of cafes in the city, ranging from terrible-looking food trucks with kerosene stoves, to stylized bars and cafes. We ate mainly according to reviews from the Internet, visited several restaurants, the first was an average-looking restaurant with seafood, a taxi driver took us there upon request to show a good place with seafood, this place is run by a Vietnamese woman who speaks good Russian, the view of the place is very average, but all the seafood is fresh, everything is in basins, the appearance is normal, everything swims, breathes and crawls. I don’t remember the name of the place, but there were a lot of our compatriots, a blue restaurant with red letters in Russian, fish and seafood, it seems, is located behind the bridge (approx. prices per kg. Shrimp 450,000, oysters 180,000, crabs 350-450,000, lobster from 1,800,000 per kg .)
There was also a Tarantino bar, praised by local advertising and our tourists from Moscow, run by a Russian guy, quite nasty and pathetic in a collective farm way, he greets all the Russian guests and tells them how everything is super in his restaurant, he spent a long time advertising marble steaks to us meat, half of which was not available)) I do not recommend this place, expensive, not tasty, loud music, everyone is drunk, strongly reminiscent of Russia, a tavern with loud music of an extremely average level.
We went to the Grill Garden restaurant - I really don’t recommend it; my stomach after eating wasn’t great in the morning.
We were at the Lemongrass cafe, above average, but check the bill, they cheat, they bring the bill, you put in the money, and they already bring the change without a receipt, you forgot how much they should bring, consider that you were cheated.
The largest number of times, missing the usual food, we visited the American Texas BBQ bar, which is kept by Americans, the steaks are good, tasty, the beer is not only local, there is corona, a normal selection of strong alcohol, the average bill for 4 people is $50-65. We ate there with pleasure. We also went to fast foods, KFC, something from the local bottling, everything was 3-star.
My wives went shopping, so I can’t write much about it; the bargains are bad, unlike in India, at least in the city, and not much at the market either. They don’t want to reduce the price, they are rude and impudent. We went to the market, bought fruit, as soon as we got there, two women flew to all points to say that prices need to be raised for foreigners. This situation surprised me very much; it was neighboring countries, I didn’t see anything like that there. There was nothing for me personally to buy, although I’m not a fan of carrying around bags of unnecessary junk. You can buy products from crocodile and python skins, there are pearls, silver, gold, but I don’t know anything about the quality.
On excursions we only went to a waterfall and part-time to a crocodile farm, overall it was ok, nothing special, we took a local guide, it cost us 4 dollars, 130, we were satisfied.
We went to Winpearl Island, got there by cable car, nice, but nothing special, I think the kids will like it. The amusement park itself is overcrowded with the local impudent population, who are the first to get in line, rush around, push, yell, piss in the water, yes, that’s where it is. We didn’t go on the rides, we took a jet ski, went down the slides several times, it was painful to climb them barefoot, since the stairs were welded from rebar. The locals are no strangers to barefoot people; they are the main clientele there.
We flew back on the same plane as there, the same layout of seats, everyone was worried that there was no store at the airport duty free, I hasten to reassure you, it is there, a minimum set of a series of 5 perfumes and 10 bottles, but still it is there. The food back was normal, the service was attentive and good, but the flight attendants hardly responded to the call button.
To summarize, I can say that I didn’t like Nha Trang, I don’t know about the rest of Vietnam, but this tourist area gave me the impression of an extraordinary, boring resort. The usual sea, arrogant, ill-mannered people, inattentive staff, poor service, sluggish entertainment, all this does not evoke positive emotions. Maybe someone will challenge my review, say that this is the rut, and everything was different for him, but I can say one thing - I do not recommend going there for people accustomed to comfort, politeness and attention, normal food and cleanliness.
P.S. I don’t recommend judging the entire Asia of that region by Vietnam; this is not a reason to refuse a trip to countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore.

The room was poorly cleaned (the floors were wiped every other day and not everywhere, the dishes were not washed at all), as was the area in front of the pool (leaves, small rotten coconuts, some candy wrappers that were removed after we brought them from the lawn to the path to home). It's time to make repairs in the room (chips in tiles, furniture with scratches, chips, warped doors), leaking plumbing, cracks in the plaster layer on the walls and ceiling. It is impossible to be on the territory during the day due to the noise and abundance of incoming Chinese tourists who come supposedly on an excursion, racing jet skis, as well as construction noise. The bottom of the trampoline located in the swimming area was not cleaned and was overgrown with shells, as a result of which the husband severely cut his leg when trying to climb on it. The tiles in the pool peeled off in places, you can cut yourself, the pool was cleaned once in 7 days (no one removed palm leaves, like coconuts, either from the territory or from the pool). Coconuts grow dangerously over the paths and in the area of the hammocks, public pool and villa pool. Artificial orchids at the reception, in public areas (And this is Vietnam - the tropics, where flowers grow in abundance, we went to 3* hotels in the city itself and there are fresh flowers everywhere). It was possible to change the currency every other time (the staff motivated this by the lack of national currency). The food on the menu is not tasty and unreasonably expensive, so we went to the city by boat every day for dinner. The shampoo was poured every other time into a bottle with the name of what it was erased (the hotel is advertised as 5*!!!). The staff seems kind of tired. The entire area is neglected. Feeling of abandonment and lack of an adequate business manager.

Relatively quiet island(after returning from the noisy city we just relaxed in the coolness and silence). Delicious and varied breakfasts. Large room area, lived in a villa, on the second floor overlooking the sea. The hotel area is large, you can walk, the beach is clean, there are enough sun loungers (we swam only in the first half of the day, during the day it was too hot and noisy). Having your own pool (we swam in the morning before breakfast and before bed). Towels were changed every day, as was the water.

But! On weekends, groups of Chinese are brought to the hotel part too! Then it immediately becomes very noisy, especially near the hotel, and there is a huge queue at the restaurant! In the evening they are taken away and it becomes quiet again. And one more time there was a breakdown in the water supply and for several hours in the evening there was no water anywhere in the entire hotel, not even in the toilet. They fixed it at night. It was very uncomfortable, but then, as compensation, the hotel gave us dinner for free (though on our initiative, and not ourselves). And another minus of the hotel can be considered the restaurant; as already written in other reviews, it is tasteless and expensive.

The view and atmosphere are the best thing about this hotel. The service is good, they clean several times a day. The room has a choice for everyone, two types of bathrobes, everything is clean and tidy. There is no need to worry about the vacationing Chinese, as you can’t hear them. They mostly make noise when they travel in groups of tourists)) There are very few or no people on the beach, which is good news. It is possible to rent a boat for free and you can go snorkeling. There is enough entertainment. If you are not satisfied with the food in the restaurant, you can go to the city. Although I have no desire to leave here. There are no activities for children. Cooking class and yoga were also canceled due to bad weather, and there was no place under the tent for this either. The dirt that was stated is not even in the project... The amusement park was operating at only 10% capacity due to rainfall, there were no alternative activities for children at such large territory The hotel was never offered...
