City of San Diego in California - photo

(San Diego) nestled in the very south of the United States, neatly on the border with Mexico. San Diego is where I was born. There is no bad weather here, there is always a warm ocean, there are tens of kilometers of luxurious beaches, for which fur seals and surfers argue.

Americans were once asked which US city they considered the best to live in? And everyone unanimously answered San Diego. This is because the climate here is ideal, it’s never too hot, not too cold, and the sun shines 320 days a year.

The central district of San Diego, or Downtown, is a boring high-rise building with banks and offices. You can’t even call them skyscrapers, they’re just underscrapers. It's all about the proximity of the airport. Because of it, it is prohibited to build houses higher than 150 m in San Diego.

San Diego is home to the largest naval base in the United States. In the bay, at 13 berths, aircraft carriers, destroyers, helicopter carriers, and missile boats are moored. You can’t get to this object, but you can visit the world’s largest museum ship, the Aircraft Carrier Midway. The scale of this colossus is simply amazing, almost 300 m in length. The crew was 4,500 people, could accommodate 100 aircraft, and consumed 40,000 liters of fuel per day. An aircraft carrier is, without exaggeration, a floating city. It has its own streets with kilometers of long corridors, its own avenues and intersections. There is a hair salon, a dentist's office, an operating room, a church, a prison and of course a kitchen with a dining room. In general, this museum is good because here you can touch, feel, twirl everything and feel like a real captain of an aircraft carrier.

There is an atmosphere of complete freedom in San Diego. It attracts all sorts of freaks, eccentrics and hippies to San Diego. For them, life in this city is easy and wonderful. The police don’t chase, money is earned simply, either by singing or selling weed.

The most popular entertainment in San Diego is, of course, surfing. Here they still don’t really know how to walk, but they’re already climbing out to catch a wave. San Diego has great waves. They are not strong, but long and even. These are ideal for beginners to ride. The waves are like a drug, once you get on the board you can’t get off.

With the onset of dusk, all city life moves from the center to the Gaz Lemp area. Once upon a time, the first gas lamps in San Diego appeared here. And today on his street there is no need to turn on the blessing at all. The bright illumination of bars and nightclubs makes it as bright as day.

San Diego is also famous for its famous oceanarium – SeaWorld. The largest aquarium in all of California. Here you can hand-feed stingrays, feed a school of fish with your hand, or pull the tail of a bamboo shark. But the main stars of the aquarium are the huge killer whales. Killer whales not only live here, but also perform as artists. The killer whale show is fantastic, where else can you see 6-ton dolphins jumping out of the water. Killer whales are very cute and funny, but they are still wild animals, killer whales. Killer whales do not eat people; we are too bony and not fat for them. But they can get too carried away and kill a person. America was shocked by several cases when killer whales drowned their trainers during a show. Since then, instructors have been prohibited from being in the water near animals, and just in case, they always have an air tank on their belt.

San Diego is a border city, from here it is about 10 km to Mexico. 30 minutes and you find yourself in a small town near the Mexican border. Tourists who have American visa can easily travel from the US to Mexico.

San Diego amazing city. Wherever you are in it, you are always drawn to the beach. Even just sitting on the beach for a few days, listening to the waves and watching the sunset, would be a great weekend. There is a lot to see in the city of San Diego.
