Resorts in Bulgaria for families with children - where is better, which resort to choose?

Typically, married couples with children come to Golden Sands, Sunny Beach, Albena and Nessebar, since it is in these resorts that the hotel complexes best meet all the requirements and preferences of such tourists. There are luxurious sandy beaches everywhere free entry. Children will be happy to splash in the sea and enjoy building sand castles in the company of their new friends.

When choosing a hotel for a family holiday in Bulgarian resorts, you should pay attention to its location in relation to the sea. An ideal option for holidays with children would be hotel complexes located on the first line: in Nessebar and in the city of Primorsko.

Bulgaria is so close to us that many, going to foreign resorts, they immediately go to the beautiful far away, and it’s as if they “fly by”. And in vain: after all, Bulgaria there is everything you need - the sea, the mountains, and interesting excursions for adults, and entertainment for children.

A former country of the socialist camp, in 2007 Bulgaria joined the European Union, but not completely: the currency is still local - the leva, and it became possible to enter the country with a Schengen visa only from the beginning of 2012. With a Bulgarian visa, you cannot enter the Schengen zone - some EU members object to the country’s final entry into the European Union, accusing Bulgaria and Romania of being unable to control their borders. However, when it comes to tourism and services, the Bulgarians try very hard to follow European standards - and they succeed. At the same time, the prices are still there! - not at all European, which is why the flow of tourists is growing every year. Our compatriots are also attracted by the absence of a language barrier.

Resorts in Bulgaria are open all year round. The length of the Black Sea coast is 378 kilometers, and almost all of it is covered with wonderful white-golden sand. And resorts. Let's start our review from the south and move north.

Sozopol

Sozopol — Big city on south coast: small and large shops, cafes on the rocks by the sea where you can sit for eternity, souvenir stalls, performances by visiting singers, so you have somewhere to go in the evening - in general, you can lead a real resort life here. Only the beaches are too small, so new hotels are being built far from the city.

Sozopol

Some people immediately buy apartments on the coast. Let's say the French actress and model Laetitia Casta bought an apartment in Sozopol, which captivated her while she was filming a film nearby, on the island of St. Anastasia. In general, it is the Russians who are the main buyers of Bulgarian seaside real estate. Which is not surprising: prices are the lowest of all EU countries. The most popular product is apartments priced from 40 to 60 thousand euros - there have been a lot of such transactions over the last 2 years. There is more expensive housing, but Russian buyers apparently go further to the Mediterranean Sea for it.

In order not to think about whether there is a place on the beach, it is worth considering hotels near Sozopol.

Arkutino, Sozopol

Hotel ARKUTINO RESORT 4*- a cozy and very quiet hotel, lost in the dunes - for lovers of privacy, peace and uncrowded beaches. The hotel is ideal for families with children - organic products from the farm, which the hotel owners are very proud of (and rightly so), fresh air, lack of noise, night discos and crowds of vacationers. Nothing but forest, a strip of low, grassy dunes, and the sea. The only little thing that becomes important is when in your hands Small child— the hotel is located on a hill, so you have to climb the steps often. And to the sea you have to walk along a wooden deck through the dunes. Very romantic and poetic, but, frankly, not very convenient with a stroller. But these are all minor quibbles, in fact, the hotel is very nice and quiet.

Arkutino, beach and bar

Hotel LAGUNA BEACH RESORT & SPA 4* is located on the other side of Sozopol on the seashore and is suitable for those who are visiting with a large family and for a long time. The main building contains 37 apartments of varying sizes overlooking the swimming pool, river and sea. There is a jacuzzi bar and barbecue on the roof. There are also 3-storey villas with different sized apartments with kitchens. The hotel area is small for such a large number of people, but the VIP villas are amazing in scale - intimate social receptions can be held on the terraces.

Laguna Beach, Sozopol

Pomorie

Pomorie - large balneological resort. Pomeranian mud is distributed to all resorts and spas in Bulgaria. Israelis travel in droves, disdaining their Dead Sea, because all balneological services in Bulgaria are much cheaper. SPA hotels offer special 3, 5 and 7-day programs, including massages, face and body masks. Combination mineral springs and mud is very useful for treatment, rehabilitation and simply getting rid of stress - and not only in the summer.

Sunset Resort, Pomorie

Huge hotel complex SUNSET RESORT 5*, where we were met at the reception by lovely girls Petya and Vanya (like the Bulgarians) - this is the whole city, where there is everything for relaxation. Six buildings, six restaurants, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, bowling alley, cafe, separate villas with apartments right on the beach, large kids club with a labyrinth - and another separate one - directly overlooking the large beach. Umbrellas and sunbeds when booking a room with all inclusive meals are included in the price, which is important in Bulgaria, because the prices for them are different at each resort, but everywhere they are quite high - 6-8 euros per set.

The large distances on the hotel premises allow you not to forget about physical activity, and the nearby shops allow you to buy groceries to cook in the apartments.

Sunset Resort, Pomorie

There is a hotel next to this hotel complex, on the second line Festa Via Pontica Resort with luxurious family rooms, whose area makes up for some distance from the sea. There is also a winery there Via Pontica: Opened in 1932, it still welcomes tourists, boasting huge barrels and its wines - red, white and rosé. At the tasting, with a light snack, different varieties - for example, Traminer with the scent of rose - are told stories: that wine turns pink because pomace and seeds are added to the wine must for several hours, and that 2 glasses of wine a day is simply mandatory for health.

sunny Beach

This is the largest Bulgarian resort town, stretching for 5 kilometers along beautiful beaches. There is everything: shops, restaurants, discos, casinos, night bars on the beach, where you can lie in hammocks under the starry sky. Two huge water parks - the competition is so strong that people who want to ride huge water slides are gathered all over the city free buses— you just need to find a stop with a bright poster.

The resort is youthful and very democratic. It feels like I’m in a college town that they forgot to close for the holidays: the main crowd is European schoolchildren and students.

Helena Park, Sunny Beach

But there are places for more demanding audiences. For example, hotels HELENA RESORT 5*. The one that is a little further from the sea - HELENA PARK 5*- operates on an all inclusive system. What all inclusive is ideal for holidays with children, there’s probably no need to tell. And for couples and groups who are not burdened with young children, a hotel is perfect HELENA SANDS 5*, where the room price includes breakfast and lunch. First class Hotel SPA offers special local treatments: with Bulgarian herbs and sour milk.

Helena Sands

Very close to Sunny Beach - the most visited city in Bulgaria - Nessebar. The old town is located almost on an island - it is connected to the mainland by a thin isthmus - and is under the protection of UNESCO. And although the territory is very small, nevertheless, there are about 40 churches there - from the 13th century and later. Car traffic is prohibited in it, but traffic jams are caused by tourists walking in crowds along the narrow streets. They are greeted at the city gates by a musician with bagpipes, in the evening by various ensembles and orchestras, and all day long by sellers of countless souvenirs and cozy restaurants. Festivals are often held open air. The island looks extremely romantic and is full of small hotels and private apartments, which are tempting you to visit with your husband when the season ends and everything around calms down.

Nessebar

A folklore excursion to the nestinar awaits those thirsty for strong impressions. Nestinars are a people who danced on coals in honor of the Virgin Mary, a ritual that is an amazing fusion of paganism and Christianity. Nowadays there are no real nestinarkas anymore, but there are professionals who are ready to amaze you with their dance on hot coals. She even carries children in her arms, if the parents don’t mind, to cleanse them of all diseases. And as everyone is warned: do not try to repeat it. Tourists who tried to prove that the coals were probably not hot, and that they could do it too, were taken away with burns.

Nessebar

New for the season - it opens in May 2013 - will be the Happy Land amusement park, with an area of more than 30 thousand m2. On its territory there will be “Mini-Bulgaria”, and a street from westerns for little cowboys, and an island of pirates, and the fortress city of Camelot, and the “Gulliver” attraction, where Gulliver’s adventure in the land of Lilliput is recreated in an artificial lake. The park is located 23 km from Varna, in close proximity to the tourist complexes Kamchia and Shkorpilovtsi.

Golden Sands

The ultimate dream of a former Soviet tourist, now Golden Sands is catching up with resorts by leaps and bounds Turkey and Egypt, building large hotels, but leaving pieces of our common past for the nostalgic - overgrown staircases and cypress trees from Crimean childhood. For those who can’t get enough of the sea and the endless embankment, there are 2 real casinos - just don’t forget to take your passport, they won’t let you in without it.

Sol Melia Hermitage, Golden Sands

In the middle of the noisy embankment there is a hotel of the famous Spanish chain SOL - SOL Melia Grand Hermitage 5*. Large and new, it sits on an elevated position providing stunning views from the balcony. And there are also beautiful rooms - you’re not even in a hurry to go to the sea, you just want to soak up the pillows and comfortable armchairs for an extra hour.

Room in Sol Melia Hermitage

SOL hotels, divided into simply SOL and the more expensive SOL Melia segment, maintain European quality standards and ensure that guests are satisfied with their visit. For sophisticated tourists, the hotel has an even higher level - THE LEVEL - a separate reception, guaranteed sea views, a separate restaurant, a small fenced area to lie in silence, and your own entrance to the SPA.

Balchik

The main pride and tourist attraction of this small town is Botanical Garden, the former residence of the Romanian Queen Maria, a woman of interesting fate, a follower of the Baha'i religion, who retired here in the 20s of the last century. In addition to a truly impressive and intricate garden, where there is even an alley of cacti (more than 250 varieties), tourists are shown a house, a chapel, and told romantic legends about the life-loving queen.

Romanian Queen Maria at her residence in Balchik, 1920s

On a small hill right in the palace garden there is a winery - Queen’s Wine House. Its owner is Anna Koleva, a young and very enthusiastic girl - as she calls herself, speaking in a mixture of Bulgarian and Russian, "a crazy sniffer." Anna produces unusual wines: she mixes varieties herself to get an unusual bouquet. At the tasting, she not only revealed the secrets of winemaking, but talked about how important the support of her beloved husband is when you are doing something that takes all your time and energy.

Oh yes, food!

Bulgarians eat very tasty food. And inexpensive: just to have lunch - 10 euros per person, to sit in a fish restaurant with a stunning view of the sea - 20-30 euros. The famous Shopska salad and other vegetable salads with various herbs and seasonings, hot meat dishes - kavarma, gyuvech, kebab. There are endlessly many dishes with cheese and feta cheese, for example, sirens in Shopski style - a dish of eggs, cheese, tomato, baked in a pot. Or bannitsa - a puff pastry roll with cheese, spinach or something else. If you want something exotic, you can try offal milk soup - shkembe chorba, which Bulgarians are very proud of. Another unique product is kiselo mlyako - essentially natural yogurt made by fermenting milk with a special bacterium, as explained local residents, "living only in the Bulgarian climate." That's what we called it - "Bulgarian stick". A big fan of it was the world-famous biologist Ilya Mechnikov, who published several articles about Bulgarian yogurt because he considered it the main remedy in the fight against aging. Kisel mlyak is used to make wonderful cold tarator soup with cucumbers, dill and garlic. And what a delicious dessert made from jelly mlyaka with green figs - you can eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner, without worrying about your figure and dying with happiness!

When talking about food, we cannot ignore Bulgarian wine. Decent Bulgarian wine is dry red wine produced only here - Mavrud, Ruby, and international varieties - white wines Traminer, Chardonnay. Most Bulgarian wines are varietal wines - named after the main grape variety from which the wine is made. And don't let them scare you low prices: inexpensive good wines are the rule for Bulgaria, not the exception. For lovers of something stronger, besides the well-known rakia, there is a Bulgarian drink with the name “mastic”, frightening to Russian ears - 47-proof aniseed vodka - it is bought as souvenirs for men.

And other dangerous pleasures await women - cosmetics stores with rose oil and water. Why dangerous? Because I want to spend all my money. And there are so many different gastronomic, cultural and aesthetic pleasures in Bulgaria that you have to choose what to spend on.

Plans for the summer

"Reservation summer tours to Bulgaria has already begun, and we can confidently assume that the upcoming season in this direction will be successful - at least at the level of last year. And according to optimistic forecasts, the growth in tourist flow will be 15-20%. The popularity of Bulgaria among Russian tourists is increasing every year, says Valeria Khramova, head of the European department of the Transaero Tour company. — Some hotels will extend early booking until April, but when purchasing tours to popular resorts, it is better to hurry. The Transaero Tour company will traditionally offer all hotel options from 2* to apartment complexes." The company also retains exclusive rights to class flights increased comfort(business class) of Transaero airlines. And 2-3 days before the flight departure, a promotion is regularly held - a drawing for a business class flight.

Don't know! I just got excited about the trip to Bulgaria. Therefore, when I have time next year, I will definitely go there on vacation with my family.

Why are Bulgarian resorts for families with children in constant demand? It's quite simple. In terms of their infrastructure, they are very reminiscent of Turkish resorts, as well as the quality of the sea and beaches. However, if you are traveling with children, the flight to Bulgaria will take less time, which is important, and the local climate will not seem too harsh for children. After all, not every adult can handle the stifling summer heat of some Turkish cities! A nice bonus is that prices are more reasonable, so you can spend money not only on “bare” accommodation and food, but also on actively exploring the country as part of excursion programs. So, we have prepared for you a list of Bulgarian resorts that will be most convenient for families with children.

Albena is still one of the largest Bulgarian resorts on the Black Sea coast. Its construction took place in 1969. The location for the future resort was chosen ideally - the northern corner of the Bulgarian Riviera abuts the Baltata nature reserve, which is distinguished unique nature. Guests can enjoy a truly rare combination of liana forest and warm sea. Albena is the number one choice when it comes to holidays with children. All conditions have been created for little travelers.

It is worth noting the local beach - it has the status of the widest in the country and is distinguished by a smooth descent into the water, which made it possible to install numerous water attractions, which always attract children. No need to worry about cleanliness - the beach is marked with the Blue Flag. Almost every hotel has children's clubs and special pools for children. The resort itself has an amusement park, diving and riding schools, and a bicycle rental service. A variety of festivals and cultural events are regularly held here.

Varna

The mild climate and wide, clean beaches combined with vibrant greenery make Varna an excellent choice for family holidays. Compared to other resorts in the region, the infrastructure here is more developed, and therefore both adults and children will be able to spend more active leisure time. However, Varna is also far from Golden Sands with its party atmosphere. All the children of Varna are naturally drawn to the Seaside Garden. This entertainment center, which is suitable for children of different age categories. In fact, this is a huge garden, in the thicket of which there is a magic kingdom - an amusement park.

The Children's Kit (i.e., “corner”) has its own man-made pond on which you can ride a boat. Next door there is a cafe serving colorful cocktails and fresh juices. All conditions for playing sports are created here: from tennis to badminton. Those who want to ride a bicycle or roller skate can use specially equipped tracks. A separate section has been developed for the little ones game Zone with slides, sandboxes and a private pool. There is also a dolphinarium in Varna. The dolphin show always attracts attention.

Byala

The only drawback of a holiday in Byala is the specific nature of the beach line. The descent to the sea is quite sharp. In order to get to warm water, you have to go down fifty steps. If you are in good physical shape and traveling with school-aged children, this will not be a problem. Children are usually enthusiastic about this exercise, but if you have younger children who need to be carried, it may not be very convenient. Apart from this, there are no obvious disadvantages.

The sea is clean, there is a ten-meter zone around the coast, in which the water depth is no more than one meter. So you can worry a little less about the safety of children. In addition, lifeguards are constantly on duty here. This does not apply only to wild areas of the beach. The sand is fine, light yellow. Despite the sandy coast, the beach is clean. One of the favorite recreational options for children is water slides.

While children are busy conquering the peaks, adults can relax or swim. The city has ethnographical museum, which is unlikely to be of interest to children, but the hotels have children's clubs with animators. You should definitely leave your child with the hotel staff for one evening to attend a local wine tasting.

Duni

This resort town is located on the southern coast. It has a reputation as a place that can satisfy the tastes of even the most discerning guests. Golden sand, a pier, shady alleys and streets paved with old stones that have already worn out, cozy hotels - Duni seems like a real city of the sun. It is especially good for relaxing with kids and schoolchildren. The proximity of mountains and coniferous forests helps create a special microclimate.

Prices here are slightly higher than in other regions, but this does not prevent the resort from being full even in high season. Still, the quality of rest matters. The local beach with clean sand and a gentle slope is ideal for children, as the water in shallow water warms up much faster. There is a long breakwater installed here, and therefore the sea is almost never stormy. All local hotels They work on an all-inclusive program, which is especially important when vacationing with children.

In general, Duni is a kind of entertainment complex for young travelers, combining children's clubs, discos, swimming pools, attractions and sudden interactions with animation teams. You won't be bored! The only thing worth keeping in mind is that there is no public transport, but the problem can be solved: you can always take a taxi or rent a car.

Elenite

Elenite is quite popular as a holiday destination with children. Like other cities in the region, it is located among coniferous forests, which, in combination with the Black Sea, gives a healing effect. In 2006, the Atlantis water park was finally opened on the territory, which dramatically increased the popularity of the resort. In parallel with it, an original children's club appeared, which is located in a smaller copy of the eastern palace.

When building Aladdin, the designers were inspired by the tales told by Scheherazade to the cruel ruler. Not only purely playful, but also educational programs are initiated for children. Golden Sands

There is no older, more famous and more crowded resort complex on the entire coast. However, the flow of tourists is in no hurry to subside - from year to year thousands of people come here for the velvety golden beaches with a gentle slope and clean sea. Usually these are young people and couples with children, so you definitely won’t get bored in the company of older people who have a slightly different idea of a real vacation.

The project was initially conceived in such a way as to create a comfortable ecosystem for recreation for married couples and young people. Therefore, most hotels have specialized staff, and restaurants offer children's menus. Playgrounds and swimming pools for children are equipped everywhere. If you are planning a vacation with your loved ones, it is better to choose hotels in the second or third line. Why? everything is quite simple - the center is very lively.

Especially the Broadway area, where most entertainment venues, restaurants, bars and clubs are concentrated. And falling asleep to trendy beats is not very pleasant. It’s better to choose the northern part of the resort or climb the mountains. The atmosphere here is completely different - birdsong, centuries-old trees, silence, vibrant national cuisine and more liberal prices!

sunny day

Sunny Day is another luxury resort. Its complex includes only four hotels, which are located in a small and very picturesque bay. As you understand, this place is secluded and worth the money. The local beach is awarded annually Blue Flag. Nature favors this place. The sea here is very calm, and the relict forest spread around destroys the remaining echoes of civilization. Mineral springs flow here, which has a beneficial effect on the health of hotel guests.

On the beach you can rent a yacht and arrange a short cruise with the whole family. Scuba diving equipment is also available for rent. Local undersea world It’s quite colorful, which is why diving schools are open for children. In general, the children's component of the holiday is well developed - games, competitions and educational programs are designed for children of different ages. If you want to leave this oasis of silence for a while, make your choice in favor of one of excursion tours in Bulgaria.

Sunny Beach

As if in contrast to the secluded atmosphere of Sunny Day, Sunny Beach confidently holds the status of the largest resort in Bulgaria, so the atmosphere here is more than lively. However, it is located some distance from the railway, airports and other major cities, so some isolation is still felt. But this lack of “competitors” only benefits the city - the Blue Flag has been given to the Gold Coast without question for many decades.

It is well suited for holidays with children. The bay is wide and calm, and most hotels are located right by the sea, so there is no need to go down from the mountains. Playgrounds and sports grounds, swings, water slides, swimming pools - children will be able to spend their holiday actively. In addition, children's discos and other events are regularly held here. A water park was also opened here in the early 2000s. The Deep Blue diving center operates in the south of the city.

Review

beauty local nature amazes you every time you find yourself in this small Bulgarian resort. It is located literally on the border between harsh rocky landscapes and the warm blue mass of the sea. The air here warms up more, by an average of 3-5 degrees, than in other areas of the region. It hardens into a lush veil, filled with the aroma of wildflowers. Obzor is not a super popular holiday destination. It is now actively developing, so prices here are about two times lower than in other cities. But the rest conditions are by no means worse.

The hotels are located at a decent distance from each other, and therefore the beaches here are free. In addition to hotels, there are health centers that specialize in the treatment of asthma and bronchitis. You can relax there with your children. The local souvenir market is very extensive. Be sure to stroll among the family-owned shops. Children are guaranteed to enjoy immersing themselves in such a kaleidoscope of hand-made things, and parents will be able to buy a couple of bottles of homemade wine instead of a souvenir.

Nessebar

This city is rightly called the pearl of the country. It occupies a rocky peninsula slightly north of Burgas. It has almost three thousand years of rich historical past behind it. People lived alternately on the peninsula greatest civilizations, and therefore most of the surviving buildings are under the protection of international organizations. Old Nessebar will especially impress children. The fact is that about three hundred years ago a huge section of the city with ancient towers and the temples went under water. There are only forty buildings left on the surface.

However, the fact that the city has drowned does not prevent tourists from enjoying its beauty. The water here is so clean that you can see the sights “from above” during a boat ride. The local beach is also an honorary holder of the Blue Flag. An amusement park, a water park, playgrounds and parks are open for children. In addition, it is well developed transport infrastructure, so if you wish, you can visit any other city in the region.

Pomorie

Pomorie gained its fame long before the opening modern resort. Local healing mud And clean lakes have always attracted numerous tourists. Today, hospitals and sanatoriums have been opened on the basis of the old institutions. The location of the city is also picturesque - it stands on a rocky island, connected to the mainland only by a narrow isthmus. At the same time, all coastline flat, and the beach itself received the Blue Flag.

However, not everyone will like relaxing on the local beaches - although the beach is clean, due to its high iron content it has a brownish-grayish tint. Not on the peninsula mountain ranges or coniferous forests, but there are vineyards here. Many tourists come here in the summer to rent a house near the shore and undergo a number of wellness procedures that will be useful for both adults and children. For children there is quite a variety of entertainment, children's clubs are open at hotels.

Sozopol

If you see your vacation filled with bright colors and impressions, feel free to choose Sozopol. This resort town belongs to the historical wealth of Bulgaria. It has existed since the times of the ancient Greek colonization of the Black Sea coast. Once upon a time there was a huge statue of Apollo on the shore. Local authorities promise to build it again. So, what is a must-visit while on holiday in Sozopol with children? To begin with, you can arrange a short hike to the mouth of the Ropotamo River.

This is where it starts nature reserve, which is better known as "Amazon". This name is completely justified - the local forests most closely resemble the dangers lurking at every step of the tropics. At first, it may seem that something like this simply could not appear in the vicinity of a city filled with ancient Russian churches and quite familiar natural landscapes. Another unusual attraction is the so-called stone forest on the island of St. Ivan. The forest “grew” under water and is a majestic sight.

Burgas

A family holiday in Burgas can be a very pleasant adventure mainly because it is quite Big City, in which many are concentrated interesting places that are worth visiting with children. For example, the vast Sea Garden park, which is located near the coast. Amusements, recreation areas, walking and cycling paths are scattered across a wide area of land. Various events are often held here in the summer. Amusement Park Prikazkite is another entertainment area aimed at children of all ages. This is a kind of year-round fair.

Children may also be interested in local Archaeological Museum. Its exhibition includes numerous antique sculptures, pottery, jewelry made of precious stones and, of course, weapons. After seeing the sights in the city, you can go to the surrounding areas, for example, to Deultum, where excavations of ancient buildings are being carried out.

Kavarna

This is another corner of the Bulgarian land not overrun by tourists. It is located on the border with Romania and has a somewhat different charm. What is it? Yes, of course, there is a warm seaside corner here, caressed by the sun and worn down salty waters, but more interesting are the ancient fortresses, moats, castle walls, tours of which will turn into a very intense medieval quest. The city's pride is its ancient fountains.

In general, the city is good for family ecotourism. Here you can organize not only a ghost hunt, but also a photo hunt, for example, for dolphins or birds, of which there are a great many. It turns out to be a rather ambiguous portrait, doesn't it? Let's apply the final strokes! Kovarna is the center of rock music. Major European festivals are held here every year, which have been attended by world-class stars more than once. Of course, this was also reflected in the appearance of the city.

Topola

Holidays in Topol are an example of a secluded holiday in the European style. The town itself is small and quiet. It is located in the north of Bulgaria, has its own sun-drenched, clean beach and calm sea. Children will enjoy a holiday here no less than adults. How to surprise little travelers? It’s worth booking a tour of the local natural beauty, not even for the nature itself, but for the variety of birds that you can watch here from a very close distance.

They nest on rocks and favor tourists who feed them bread crumbs. There are a number of mineral springs in Topol. Local waters are rich in iodine, which has a beneficial effect on the musculoskeletal system. If you have never taken your child fishing with you, now is the time to correct this omission. Here you can rent fishing rods and all the necessary equipment and go to the pier at dawn. Not far from Topola there is a diving club that is suitable for both professionals and beginners.

Balchik

This is a fairly popular resort on the north-eastern part of the Black Sea coast. It is often chosen for holidays with children. Why? You can get from Varna Airport to Balchik in just half an hour, which is especially important when traveling with young travelers. The city is filled not only with sun and salty sea air, but also with numerous historical attractions, which subsequently allows you to dilute a rather monotonous beach holiday with more vivid impressions.

In addition, it is guaranteed to broaden the horizons of both children and adults. The local hotel business is more than diverse. Here you can find a hotel for more budget option relaxation, and for living in grand style. The beach area has excellent infrastructure. Water skis, catamarans, water slides, sun loungers, umbrellas, sun loungers - a beach holiday here is very comfortable.

Back in Soviet times, family holidays in Bulgaria were extremely popular, and purchasing a trip to this country was considered a great success. Much water has passed under the bridge since then, but Bulgarian resorts have remained just as wonderful and still attract thousands of tourists every year.

Today we have more possibilities for beach holidays in many parts of the world, but when it comes to kids, Bulgaria is definitely on the list of options. What is the secret of success?

To put it briefly, holidays with children in Bulgaria are comfortable, carefree and inexpensive. You will learn from our article how to use all the tourism opportunities of this country and which resort to choose for a holiday with a child.

Where is Bulgaria

The Republic of Bulgaria is located in the southeastern part of Europe, on Balkan Peninsula. It borders on Turkey and Greece in the south, Romania in the north, and Serbia and Macedonia in the west. From the east, the country's territory is washed by the waters of the Black Sea. Area - 111 thousand square meters. km, population - about 8 million people. The capital of the republic is Sofia. In 2007, Bulgaria joined the European Union.

To enter Bulgaria, citizens of Russia, Ukraine, and CIS countries need a national visa, a multiple-entry Schengen visa or a national visa of Cyprus, Romania and Croatia. Citizens of the EU and a number of other countries enjoy visa-free entry.

Vacation with children

People have been coming to Bulgaria with children for several decades, rightly considering the seaside resorts of this country to be a real children's health resort. The mild climate, favorable for the child’s body, is suitable for relaxing with the child and improving his health, and also eliminates the difficult period of acclimatization, which can so often be encountered in exotic countries.

A short flight and comfortable transfer to resorts guarantee a pleasant start to your vacation, especially if you are planning a trip with kids.

Any Bulgarian resort will offer a lot of accommodation options, ranging from modern hotels of various categories to apartments convenient for relaxing with infant, or home-like mini-hotels equipped with everything necessary for a carefree holiday.

And, of course, a holiday in Bulgaria means getting to know national cuisine. Shopska salad from fresh vegetables, cold tarator soup, stuffed peppers, cabbage rolls made from grape leaves, healthy and thirst-quenching fermented milk drink ayran - all this can be safely included in the children's menu.

At the same time, many hotels use the all-inclusive system, relieving vacationers of the worry of organizing proper meals.

Low prices for food and accommodation compared to other countries are another good reason for many families who are counting on a budget but high-quality vacation.

And also Bulgaria for children - these are health camps on the seashore. If your student is ready for an independent holiday, he will be glad to have the opportunity to spend the summer with new friends.

When is the best time to go?

The most common purpose of a trip to Bulgaria is a beach holiday. And here, unlike traveling to hot countries, there is no need to rush. Beach season in the southern part Black Sea coast starts only at the end of May, in the northern part - a little later,

Beginnings swimming season in Bulgaria you will have to wait even longer: sea water warms up to a pleasant temperature only by the end of June.

The most favorable period for a holiday with a child at sea is the end of June, the first half of July and the beginning of September (although it does not change from year to year, and at the beginning of September it may already be cool). You can come to Bulgaria with a baby in May, before the summer heat begins.

July and August are the peak of the high season in Bulgaria, when the number of holidaymakers reaches its maximum. In September, the beaches slowly become empty, although if you are lucky with the weather, you will be able to bask in the mild sun and swim in the sea for another two or three weeks. Warm and dry autumn is also good for excursions. At this time you can visit Sofia or Plovdiv.

Well, winter is the time for riding alpine skiing Oh. Winter resorts accept guests from mid-December to mid-April. It is better to come with a child from mid-January to the end of February, when the resorts are slightly less busy and the weather conditions are favorable for skiing.

Don't forget about the numerous festivals that take place in Bulgaria almost all year round. It is especially interesting to visit children’s creative festivals with a child: “Stars of Albena”, “Sun, Joy, Beauty”, “Sea Shell” and others. All of them take place in the summer at the most popular resorts.

It is advisable to think about the best time to go to Bulgaria at least six months before the trip. Accommodation at popular resorts is booked in advance, and in the run-up to the season, only the least comfortable rooms or apartments may remain available.

Weather and climate

It is impossible to generalize the weather of different Bulgarian resorts, and there is no need: for those who dream of the sea, information about the climate of seaside resorts will be useful. For those who are going to devote their holidays in Bulgaria to skiing, information is more important about winter weather conditions in Bansko or Borovets.

In general, the climate of Bulgaria is characterized as temperate continental, but south coast has Mediterranean features. The season opens at the end of May - beginning of June when the air temperature rises to +21-25°C. During this period it sometimes rains, although the weather remains mostly clear.

The end of June and the beginning of July is the time for best holiday in Bulgaria with children. It’s not too hot yet, the water in the sea has warmed up enough, and the number of tourists is still moderate.

In July-August the air warms up to +27-28°C, and sometimes up to +30°C. Despite the generous sun, even in the hottest months the stuffiness is not felt thanks to the light breeze from the sea. It is important to take into account that with the onset of evening it gets noticeably colder on the seashore. On summer nights the air temperature drops to +16-18°C.

September weather at the resorts of the northern part of the coast is unpredictable, although often the beginning of autumn is still quite suitable for a beach holiday. But in the southern resorts, where the temperature stays at +25°C, you can sunbathe and swim for another month.

At the end of September holiday season in Bulgaria is coming to an end, but warm and dry October - good time for excursions. When the thermometer is +19°C and the sun is shining in the sky, it is very pleasant to wander the streets of old cities or go for a walk in the mountains.

From November to March there is a lull in Bulgaria - but not on ski resorts. In December, temperatures drop below zero and snowfalls begin in the mountains.

By the middle of the month, the first ski lovers are already hitting the slopes. average temperature The winter months are -5°C, and there are almost no severe frosts. Until the end of March, excellent skiing conditions remain on the mountain slopes.

April in Bulgaria is already a truly spring month, with changeable weather and the first warmth. By the beginning of May, the temperature in seaside resorts reaches +20°C: a new tourist season is approaching.

Sea water temperature

A wide strip of sand, even rows of sun loungers, a clear sea and just a few swimmers taking a quick dip and hurrying to the shore - this is a typical landscape of Bulgarian beaches at the beginning of summer.

You can already sunbathe, but the sea temperature is not suitable for swimming: at +20°C, not everyone dares to enter the water.

But by the end of June the water temperature in Bulgaria rises to +23-24°C. Even kids can swim in such water, especially since near the shore, where the sea is shallow, the water warms up to +25-26°C.

Such comfortable conditions for swimming will remain until the very end of summer. And in September the sea will still be quite warm: the water temperature by the end of the month will not fall below +22°C.

Main Difference coastal regions lies in the water temperature (within 2-3 degrees) due to the peculiarities of the currents and the presence of mountains in the northern part, and therefore the duration of the swimming season.

If you can still swim on the southern coast in September, then on the northern coast the water may already be cool at this time.

Nutrition

A characteristic feature of some resorts in Bulgaria is the widespread use of the all-inclusive system. This is very convenient if you are going to relax in separate resort complexes, where there is a relatively small selection of shops and restaurants.

If you are wondering which resort in Bulgaria to choose so as not to worry about the nutrition of all family members, pay attention to Albena, Golden Sands, Elenite, Duni. Many hotels in these resorts offer all-inclusive meals, as well as special children's menus, including diet ones.

IN resort towns(Nessebar, Sozopol) the all-inclusive system is practically not used. Hotels often offer breakfast, and you can have lunch and dinner in restaurants. Many Bulgarian dishes are suitable for baby food.

If you are planning an independent holiday in Bulgaria with children and are going to stay in an apartment in order to prepare the children’s usual food, inquire about the availability at the resort good shops and markets.

You can buy the necessary products without any problems in Nessebar, Sunny Beach, Sozopol. From St. Constantine and Helena it is convenient to go shopping to Varna.

Children's camps

A good way to find out which Bulgarian resorts are suitable for families with children is to find out if these resorts have summer camps for schoolchildren. There are no unexpected discoveries here: children's health camps operate in both the northern and southern parts of the Bulgarian coast.

Near Albena there is a large international camp "Brigantina", not far from Sozopol - an international child Center"Primorsko". Good conditions For independent rest Golden Sands and Sunny Beach can boast of children.

Treatment

While studying information about the resorts of the Bulgarian Black Sea region, you have probably come across references to balneotherapeutic centers. Indeed, sources of valuable mineral waters indicated in the treatment of various diseases.

You can improve your health at the medical center of Albena, Kranevo, St. Constantine and Helena, Pomorie. There is a children's playground between Varna and Burgas. Many balneotherapeutic centers are located in the western part of Bulgaria. The largest mineral resort is Velingrad.

Transport

The main type of public transport in Bulgaria used by tourists is buses. Most often, travelers travel by intercity buses, although some resorts can be reached by public transport: for example, from Varna to St. Constantine and Helena you can take a city bus.

Transport in Bulgaria follows a clear schedule, which can be found on the resorts' websites. On popular routes, buses run quite often, every 15-40 minutes. On less popular routes, buses run several times a day.

The cost of tickets depends on the distance of the trip and starts from 1 leva for travel on city buses. Children under 7 years of age enjoy free travel, but this requires a special transport card. Tickets are sold on buses, and conductors do not always require children to buy tickets.

Trains are also convenient for getting around Bulgaria, especially if you are planning a long trip - say, from Sofia to Burgas. Recently on the Bulgarian website railways There is now an option to purchase electronic tickets.

Despite the well-developed transport connection, sometimes a taxi is the only way to get to your vacation spot. This applies mainly to isolated resorts, for example, Duni or Borovets.
