Hotels

New first-class hotels have been built at all Krasnaya Polyana resorts. There are hotels representing the world's largest hotel chains, as well as modest guest houses and chalets. You can choose accommodation in a lowland, on the river bank, or near the ski lifts. Most hotels are stylized in the style of Alpine mountain towns.

There are enough apartment complexes and small hostels in Krasnaya Polyana where you can stay on a limited budget. Some tourists prefer to stay in Adler or Sochi, where the choice of hotels and apartments is much wider.

How to get there

From Sochi Airport to Krasnaya Polyana you can take buses No. 105 or 135. The same buses go through the railway station. On the way, the bus passes the Esto-Sadok railway station, the Gorki Gorod and Gazprom stops and ends at Rosa Khutor. Travel time is from 1 to 2 hours.

You can also get to Krasnaya Polyana by the Lastochka train. It departs from Sochi railway station or Adler airport and arrives at Esto-Sadok station. Travel time is about 1 hour.

Attractions

There are not many attractions in the resorts of Krasnaya Polyana. The first and main thing is, of course, incredible mountain landscapes. Slopes, stormy rivers, snow dunes or blooming alpine meadows - Krasnaya Polyana is beautiful at all times of the year.

Rosa Khutor boasts several interesting locations for photos - for example, the main street of the resort with a clock tower reminiscent of the Sochi railway station tower, or a bridge over the stormy Mzymta.

The cultural and ethnographic center “My Russia” occupies an area of 11 hectares. On its territory there are thematic pavilions that, in a stylized manner, reproduce the architecture of different regions and cities of our country. There is a Siberian fort, a Buryat datsan, a Kazan Kremlin and a Moscow Kremlin, wooden buildings characteristic of the Russian North. It’s nice to then surprise your friends by showing these unexpected buildings in photos of the attractions of the resort where you went skiing.

The center has a Bell Museum, where visitors can also learn the basics of bell-ringing if they wish. There is a fair in a separate pavilion where you can buy souvenirs and try dishes national cuisines Russia.

In addition to great skiing, Krasnaya Polyana has a lot of entertainment: water parks, discos, shops, skating rinks, restaurants, cinemas and other exciting activities.

Even if skiing is not your thing, you can always do sightseeing tour to Krasnaya Polyana (there are special rates on the ski lifts for those traveling without ski equipment).

Geography

The village of Krasnaya Polyana is located in the mountains, 42 km from the Black Sea coast, in the Adler district of Sochi. The lower part of the village is located at an altitude of approximately 550m above sea level.

Ski resort Krasnaya Polyana(aka KP) - these are two villages, Krasnaya Polyana and Esto-Sadok, as well as the ski resorts themselves, which are located a little further in the mountains. Those. There are no ski slopes in the village itself. But the resort is named after larger village. The length of the entire resort area, including both villages and the Rosa Khutor cable car, is about 12 km.

History and name

According to legend, the name Krasnaya Polyana was given to the area by the first Greek settlers, who, descending from the mountains in the fall, saw a large clearing, red with the leaves of fern, chestnut and maple. This was after the end of the Many Years of the Caucasian War. Before the war, the Caucasian village of Kbaade was located on the site of the modern village. After the end of hostilities, the village was virtually destroyed, and the new settlement was named Romanovsk in honor of the royal family. But the name Romanovsk did not take root and eventually a simpler one took root - Krasnaya Polyana. After the revolution, the Bolsheviks were clearly not against such a coincidence, so it remained that way.

And the village of Esto-Sadok translated from Estonian means Estonian Garden, because the Estonian settlers who settled near Krasnaya Polyana traded in dried fruits.

Name of the resort Rosa Khutor official version comes from the name of the mountain farm of the Estonian Eduard Rooz, who once lived on the territory of today's resort.

Well, now you know everything and can participate in historical debates in the bar after the ride =)

Krasnaya Polyana on the map

Krasnaya Polyana is the site of the 2014 Olympic Games. It was in Krasnaya Polyana that competitions in most sports disciplines took place during the Olympic Games. Thanks to the Olympics, the resort received developed infrastructure, new roads, hotels, cable cars and much more. Not everything has been completed yet, but in a few years Krasnaya Polyana should be fully operational. In the meantime, regular tourists are beginning to replace the Olympic tourists.

Ski resorts

Krasnaya Polyana ski resort offers slopes for a wide range of 4x skiing levels ski resorts, which are located close to each other.

Single ski pass and free bus not at the resort yet. Although slowly but surely, everything is moving towards this. Many say that in terms of trails, Krasnaya Polyana from a freeride mecca is becoming more and more corduroy and mountain beach. Although the construction of new lifts opens up new areas for freeride, previously only available for heliskiing. So it's not all bad. We are especially pleased with the rapid pace of development mountain resort Rosa Khutor, which, although located in Krasnaya Polyana, positions itself as an independent resort, which in fact it is. In the near future, the Rosa Khutor and Gazprom Alpika ski areas should merge. You can read more about ski areas in the section "Skating"

Krasnaya Polyana official website

Krasnaya Polyana does not have an official website . The village administration does not need this, and the ski resorts compete with each other. Perhaps a single official website for Krasnaya Polyana will appear when a single ski pass is introduced and a common information center is opened, but at this moment there is no such. Therefore, many of the functions of a unifying information resource today are performed by the website website

Infrastructure and service

Krasnaya Polyana as a ski resort is only in its formation stage. A large number of key facilities are under active and large-scale construction. Hotels, restaurants, entertainment and health centers, shops, etc. For today's flow of tourists, the existing infrastructure is quite sufficient, with the exception of the New Year. Although in NG there are always crowds at any Russian resort. Expressway built Railway and a second car, so getting to Krasnaya Polyana has become much easier.

The public on the slopes

Mostly very positive and friendly. Moreover, the general mood of the skaters is different from the rest Russian resorts. With very rare exceptions, there is always order on the slopes. Since the resort is not cheap, there is little chaos in the queues at school. The all-Russian experience of climbing the cable car for fifty dollars will definitely not help. The Katal people who come to KP are mostly adults. These are mainly Krasnodar, Rostov and Sochi, for which KP is a weekend resort. And the second half is Moscow and St. Petersburg, who arrive for a week or “under the snow.” Also frequented by bourgeois freeriders who come either for competitions or just to try out the famous Krasnopolyansk powder. There is always a significant number of freeride public on wide skis and long boards, to which the RiderHelp team also considers itself =)

You can read more about each stage of the trip to Krasnaya Polyana in the sections of our website. Welcome to Krasnaya Polyana, and we will help you!

Sincerely,
Evgeniy Matalyga and the website project team

For our parents, children and grandmothers, Sochi has always been popular destination July-August beach holiday. For my peers, Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana are the places where the Winter Olympics took place in 2014. For me, this is, first of all, the crazy beauty of nature and mountains. So beautiful that a few years ago my wife and I left Moscow and now live in Sochi. In the five years since moving, I have already made more than 70 hikes in the Caucasus and decided that I have the moral right to make something like a “Guide” to this fantastic region for any tourist and outdoor enthusiast! On this large page (please be careful and patient), I have collected all the basic information for planning and organizing an independent hike in the outskirts of Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana.

Let me start with what attracted us personally to this place so much that we moved here to live?

Why Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana?

  • Mild climate and super ecology. Despite the fact that in the winter months there are often prolonged rains on the coast, and snowfalls in the mountains, the climate here is, of course, much more comfortable for life than in my native Siberia, or in the Urals, or even in central Russia. There is no need to talk about the environment. There are no large industrial enterprises in Sochi, and daily morning sea and evening mountain breezes clean the city's air from exhaust gases.
  • Long hiking season. The climate of these places allows you to go to the mountains for six months - from June to November!! And if you pay attention not only to the mountains, but also to the coast with its numerous waterfalls and gorges, then the hiking season becomes year-round!
  • Huge opportunities for multi-sport. Those who love sports and mountains can find entertainment for every taste: classic hiking and mountain hiking, mountain biking, via feratta routes, rafting, canyoning and even bungee jumping!
  • Excellent infrastructure. New Railway from the airport and railway station in Adler or Sochi it will take you to Krasnaya Polyana in an hour, and there are excellent trails and even the presence of mountain shelters and tent camps allow you to walk in the mountains in comfort, even with small children, and at the same time enjoy the beauty of nature. A plane from Moscow is also inexpensive compared to flights abroad (just buy in advance!).
  • Safety. May the tolerants and cosmopolitans forgive me, Sochi and its surroundings are fundamentally different from other regions of the Caucasus. You can be sure that you will not have any hassles with the locals. The village of Krasnaya Polyana is historically populated by ethnic Greeks and Estonians, and Sochi by Armenians, who are known to profess Christianity, not Islam. The share of the Russian population here, in my opinion, is even greater in Moscow.

Minuses? From the point of view of “sports” tourism and mountaineering, the only disadvantage of the Krasnaya Polyana mountains is their low height. There are practically no serious glaciers or extended vertical walls here. Also, many are bothered by the fact that most of the Krasnaya Polyana mountains are located on the territory of the Caucasian Biosphere Reserve, which imposes certain difficulties with organizing hikes (more about them below), but in my opinion, the presence of the reserve is not a minus, but a plus. It's scary to imagine what would happen to these the most beautiful mountains, if they were not protected by law! As for the disadvantages of the city of Sochi in terms of a place to live, I personally want more direct flights not only to Moscow, but also abroad. And a couple or three embassies European countries. Do not need anything else! But back to hiking, this is an outdoor guide after all!

5 Day Hiking Ideas All Year Round

Everyone who comes to Sochi for just a few days wants to see all the most interesting things. But how to do that? After all, only the length of Sochi along coastline The Black Sea is more than 100 kilometers long!! (by the way, one of the most long cities in the world), and if we add to this the gorge of the Mzymta River, in the upper reaches of which the village of Krasnaya Polyana is located with the new ski resorts “Rosa Khutor”, “Gornaya Karusel” and “Gazprom-Laura”... And if we add to this the neighboring “ friendly" Abkhazia.. How to manage everything?

To begin with, I will share a list of the TOP 5 easy and one-day routes that are available all year round - both winter and summer.

(1)

A walk through the relict forest along a beautiful equipped trail. Both routes are accessible to absolutely everyone, regardless of skill level. It is enough to wear sports shoes. Must have to get acquainted with the nature of the "seaside" climate zone". On hot days summer days you can even swim in the canyon of the Khosta River!!

How to get there: 15 minutes from bus stop"Sputnik" in Khosta.

Two circular routes - "Small Ring" (the walk will take approximately 1 hour) and "Big Ring" (from 2 to 4 hours).

(2)

Zmeykovsky waterfalls are unique in that even in the hottest summer months there is enough water in the Dikarka River for you to admire their extraordinary five (!), albeit small, waterfalls that are not similar to each other. Those who like to eat delicious food in nature will love the cozy restaurant near the lower waterfall.

How to get there: 10 minutes walk from the minibus or bus stop No. 120.

A walk through all five waterfalls and back will take from one and a half to three hours.

(3)

Walking towards the Orekhovsky waterfall is my favorite hiking option when you want to get some fresh air and take a break from the city. The route is not difficult - ordinary sneakers are enough equipment and is short - a walk to the waterfall and back can take a couple of hours! In addition, Orekhovsky waterfall is one of the highest waterfalls in Sochi.

From the center of Sochi and back - from 3 to 5 hours.

How to get there: by taxi or half an hour on foot from the city bus terminus.

(4)

A cascade of three waterfalls in the picturesque canyon of the Agura River is one of the most popular places of pilgrimage for summer tourists, but these waterfalls are most beautiful in autumn and spring, when there is more water and fewer tourists!

How to get there: 20 minutes walk from the Sputnik stop (any minibus in the direction Sochi - Adler)

Walk to the first big waterfall and back will take about 1.5 hours, if you go further with a climb to the Prometheus rocks for at least 2.5 - 3 hours.

(5)

By some miracle, not included in all sorts of tourist guides in Sochi, the waterfalls on the Svanidze stream are not at all large, but amazing. Path to upper waterfall constantly meanders from one bank of the Svanidze stream to the other, in places dangerously approaching the cliff. If you leave early, you can manage to get further, to the Azhek waterfalls!

Start of the route: final stop of bus #102.

From the final stop to the waterfalls and back - 4 hours.

ONE-DAY HIKES IN THE MOUNTAINS OF KRASNAYA POLYANA

The mountain hiking season in the vicinity of Krasnaya Polyana begins no earlier than mid-June, when, after the snow melts in the mountains, the reserve opens routes. The best time for hiking is July-August, the period of the most stable and warm weather. Once the snow cover settles, the routes are closed again. This usually happens in mid-October.

(1)

Climbing to the top of the Stone Pillar is the most accessible mountain walk in the vicinity of Krasnaya Polyana. From the top a majestic all-round panorama of the Western Caucasus mountains opens up, and if you're lucky, you can even see the Black Sea. Absolutely anyone can climb the Stone Pillar, since from the cable car station to the top there is an excellent trail (in fact, a dirt road), marked with signs. It's impossible to get lost.

Start of the route: the upper station of the Rosa Khutor cable car.

The walk from the upper cable car station takes about 1.5 to 3 hours.

(2)

Thanks to a specially equipped trail and a relatively small height difference for mountains, today this is perhaps the only alternative to the route to the top of the “Stone Pillar” among the simple walking routes in the Krasnaya Polyana mountains available to everyone.

How to get there: on cable car"Mountain Carousel" from Estosadok (Krasnaya Polyana).

Timing: the hike itself takes from one and a half to three hours, plus another half hour for the ascent and descent on the cable car.

(3) Khmelevskie lakes - Achipsinskie waterfalls

A walk from the Khmelevskie Lakes to the Achipsinskie waterfalls is an excellent option for a mountain walk for the whole day. To gain time and save energy, you can go up to the Khmelevskie Lakes in jeeps (from 4,000 rubles per car, you can arrange a drop-off directly at station square Rosa Khutor).

Timing: from the end of the road to the nearby lakes and back - an hour and a half, to Lake Mirror and back - 4 hours, to the Achipsinsky waterfalls - at least 5-6 hours there and back.

(4) Bzerpinsky cornice

Hiking the Bzerpisky Cornice is my favorite weekend mountain hike. I even wrote a small guide! You can climb to a height of 1600 meters by cable car, and in just two hours (of constant uphill climbing) you can find yourself in the area of alpine meadows. Views of the surrounding peaks, blooming rhododendron and the Krasnaya Polyana gorge are guaranteed right under your feet!

How to get there: Pikhtovaya Polyana station of the Laura-Gazprom cable car to Rosa Khutor (Krasnaya Polyana)

From the upper station of the cable car and back - from 6 to 9 hours at a sports pace.

(5) Mount Achishkho

Achishkho is one of my favorite peaks in Krasnaya Polyana. I am also writing a hotel guide for this mountain. From the top there is a panoramic view of the Black Sea coast and a view of the Greater Caucasus.

To go to the top and back in one day requires either excellent physical training (a climb of almost 2000 vertical meters, and then the same amount of descent is not a task for the weak in body) or expensive, from 5,000 rubles per car to get to the Khmelevsky Lakes!

MULTI-DAY MOUNTAIN HIKES

Multi-day hiking trips with an overnight stay in a tent - an eternal classic. Only in this format can you truly take a break from the pressure of modern civilization and chat with friends live while sitting around an evening fire, and not through instant messengers and social networks, because there is practically no connection on such routes :)

If you are not ready to plan your own route, are not sure that you can correctly determine the path, or simply do not have your own tourist equipment, in the mountains of Krasnaya Polyana there is a unique opportunity for our country - to spend the night in the mountains in pre-installed tents of the Krasnaya Polyana Mountain Club or go with kids on unique trips combined with teaching tourism skills! And if you want, you can rent equipment from them and go on your own.

The hikes are listed in ascending order of duration and difficulty, starting with the easiest.

(1) Bzerpinsky cornice - Kholodny camp

If you are just dreaming of starting hiking and in the mountains in particular, hiking Bzerpinsky cornice- the best option for you. The equipped trail, the availability of rest areas, and the availability of cellular communications make this route as safe as possible for such an experience. And the views all around will make you rock. Just dress warmly, it’s cold in the mountains at night!

Start of the route: upper station of the Gazprom cable car

Duration: from 2 to 4 days.

(2)

Super popular place. Especially in the fall, when all the local photographers flock here. If you want to see something else besides the lake (climb the neighboring peaks) - plan for more days!

Start of the route: the village of Rosa Khutor or Engelmanov Polyany

The lake is located both on the territory of the Caucasian Biosphere Reserve and in the border zone. So you will have to arrange for passes in advance.

Duration: from 4 to 8 days.

(5) Abkhazia

Lately, Abkhazia has been my favorite region for multi-day hikes. At the height of summer, when the surroundings of Krasnaya Polyana are full of tourists, there is absolute silence here, no hassles with passes or border guards. Maximum scope for creativity in building multi-day routes!

Start of the route: Lake Ritsa or Gegsky waterfall

Duration: from 3 to 7 days.

IMPORTANT! Since 2/3 of the mountains surrounding Krasnaya Polyana and Sochi are located on the territory of the Caucasus State Biosphere Reserve and in close proximity to the state border with Abkhazia, for most multi-day hikes you will need to obtain two passes - from the reserve (done on the spot) and from the border guards ( documents must be submitted at least one month in advance). In addition, you need to understand that you can only walk in the reserve along permitted routes (this is important!) and not at any time of the year (at the beginning of summer and autumn, the reserve is closed “for registration”. Scientists observe the animals and count them. All routes , listed above are included in the list of permitted routes. More information about passes below.

Map of outdoor attractions in Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana

Krasnaya Polyana The Most Popular Modern Ski Resort
Rosa Khutor, Gorki Gorod, Krasnaya Polyana Amazing place in the vicinity of Sochi Hotels Slopes and Lifts in the valley of the Mzymta River, Adler district, resort city of Sochi Krasnodar region cm: .

Over the past ten years, Krasnaya Polyana has begun to develop even faster: a large number of modern hotels have appeared, a high-speed tunnel has been launched through mountain range, two new cable car complexes have been created. Thus, today Krasnaya Polyana is a promising and growing resort, into which huge amounts of money are being invested and tourists from Russia and foreign countries are trying to get there.

Winter sports are not all that Krasnaya Polyana is famous for. Hospitable people live here who prepare the most delicious honey in the Caucasus; in the summer they come here for fresh air and beautiful views, mountain hikes, close sea and walks through chestnut forests.

Weather and Climate in Krasnaya Polyana

Powerful mountain range, protecting the resort from the cold with a wall, the location at an altitude of about 600 m and the mild Black Sea climate together create unique weather in Krasnaya Polyana.

Winter weather

Even in winter time the sun gives people the opportunity to ski for days on end or sunbathe. average temperature fluctuates from 0 to -5°C, and almost never falls below -10°C. The coldest month is January and the snowiest month is February. There are practically no snowstorms or dampness.

Summer weather

Summer begins from the second mid-May and lasts until September. With rare exceptions, summer is warm, sunny and calm. The average temperature in summer is +24°С +28°С. The heat at the resort is much easier to bear than on the coast, which is explained by the presence of humidity and huge forests that surround the resort on all sides. A variety of categories of tourists come to the village of Krasnaya Polyana, located in the mountains 60 km from Sochi: those who love ski down the mountains , and those who just want take a breath of fresh mountain air . Some come in their own car, others prefer organized tours, and there are those who get public transport(regular buses go here from Sochi).

Most tourists to these places are attracted by the legacy of the Winter Olympics in Sochi 2014. And this is understandable: to see with your own eyes those sports facilities from which television broadcasts were broadcast every day, and where our athletes competed for medals and became Olympic champions, - it is very interesting. But in last years there are many who simply fell in love with the local mountains for their amazing beauty, and now he comes here to relax without fuss and get a boost of energy.

For both those and others, the information that I share in this article will be useful - what can be see in Krasnaya Polyana and surrounding areas .

Krasnaya Polyana: attractions within walking distance from the resort

All attractions can be divided into those created by nature itself, and those that appeared in the local mountains through the efforts of man. Let's start with them.

Springboards Russian roller coaster

For example, Russian Hills jump complex . It is located on the northern side of the Aibga ridge, not far from the village and consists of two jumps K-125 and K-95.

This complex was built in record time - all stages of construction can be seen in colorful photos in the complex itself. And the warm winter with little snow that year almost ruined all plans. Many people don’t even realize what a difficult job it is - collecting snow and placing it on the jump. And how quickly it turns into mush in the bright sun!

You will learn about all this by visiting the ski jump complex with a tour. Its cost is about 500 rubles. You will be invited to visit the exhibition hall, watch videos and listen to the guide's story about the Russian Roller Coaster, as well as take the chair lift to the starting point and look down through the eyes of an athlete. Excursions do not operate every day, it is better to check by phone.

And for extreme sports enthusiasts it works on the trampolines tubing. Driving down one of the springboards, K-95, on a “cheesecake” at a speed of 60 km/h is not like riding down a hill on an ice rink! It is simply impossible to describe in words the sensations of going down the tube - you have to experience it yourself. The price for one hour of tubing is 550 rubles. The price includes everything: descents on a tube for an hour without restrictions, ascents to the starting point on a chairlift, rental of equipment (inflatable tube and protection), parking. In one hour you can go down the diving board 10-12 times.

Gazprom-Laura

Next, if you are interested in the sports facilities of Krasnaya Polyana, take a look ski and biathlon complex "Laura" , built by Gazprom in a unique natural corner- on the Psekhako ridge. Climbing the mountain on a cable car resort Gazprom , you will see: a biathlon stadium, a ski stadium, ski and biathlon tracks. And from the top of the ridge you will see a wonderful panorama of the mountains.

Sankey Center

Best view of bobsleigh and luge track "SUNKY" with a length of 1814 opens from the A3 or K1-K2 cable car already mentioned above. In general, this is the first track in Russia for international competitions. There are only two dozen such tracks in the world. The Sochi track is the best, technologically advanced, safe: 1500 meters of downhill, 17 turns.

Unique attraction – bobsleigh run — is now available to all extreme sports fans. As in a real bobsled, you can go down in fours or twos. For the descent, special tourist funbobs with soft upholstery, comfortable seats and seat belts were developed. Descents are possible for adults and for children above 150 cm in the presence of parents, the safety of the descents is guaranteed.

The luge and bobsleigh track snakes along the mountainside.

Ski lifts in Krasnaya Polyana

It’s worth visiting Krasnaya Polyana just to climb the mountain by cable car . There are many of them here, they work all year round. Each resort has its own lift prices. To figure out where you want to climb more or where it’s cheaper to do it, read these articles:

And if you are not a mountain fanatic and are not too interested in Olympic venues, then in the vicinity of Krasnaya Polyana there are also routes for you, worthy of attention. Now I will tell you what you can see even in one day.

Excursion to Krasnaya Polyana: weekend route

If you drive your own car, you can see a lot of interesting places in just one day.

I advise you to start from the very end of the valley and get to the year-round resort of Rosa Khutor. What you can see and do here, read in detail .

Then I advise you to turn off new road to the old one, which goes through the village itself Krasnaya Polyana.

The village is very well maintained and pleasant. It has all the modern infrastructure: shops, hotels, restaurants, swimming pools and bath complexes, gas stations and so on.

There are also historical objects, I talk about them in more detail in this article:

But further along old road, about five kilometers from Krasnaya Polyana, is located Waterfall "Maiden's Tears" . This waterfall is not like the others, which impress with a powerful stream of falling water. Like in this photo, it only happens in early spring— during the period of active snow melting in the mountains:

And at other times of the year, “Maiden’s Tears” flow down the 13-meter rock in the form of numerous thin streams, originating high in the alpine meadows, and continuing their path, after falling, in the fast Mzymta River. Water flowing down stone blocks crystal clear and very cold, because it is formed from the melting of snow high in the mountains.

The surroundings of the waterfall are full of colorful rags and ribbons tied on the branches of bushes growing nearby as the water falls. They are left by those who believe in the fulfillment of their wish made next to magical place. There is a sign that an unmarried girl who washes herself with water from a waterfall will soon get married. It is not surprising that an excursion to this place is especially popular among the fair sex.

Further along the route there will be a sign to a place with the colorful name Medvezhiy Ugol. Turning off the road into a gorge where a river flows Chvizhepse , you get to Chvizhepsinsky Narzan spring .

Narzan spring Chvizhepse in the town of Medvezhiy Ugol: there is nothing special to see, but trying the water is useful.

Here you can taste the water, which originated at a depth of 200 meters. Legend says that the water of Chvizhepse absorbed all the power of the Earth. There are also scientific facts confirming the amazing properties of water from the Chvizhepse spring: scientists noticed that after drinking the water, people became more cheerful and their strength returned. Admission is paid, 100 rubles per person. Here you can buy a plastic bottle and fill up with water.

After driving another 11 kilometers along the same road towards Adler, you will see a sign for village Galitsyno . The village is unremarkable, but it is through it that the road to Trinity-St. George Convent.

This road, although paved, is very narrow: it is difficult for two cars to pass each other. The monastery was opened in August 1999 at a small abandoned recreation center of a local reinforced concrete plant, and was built with private donations. Thanks to them, here for short term Several architecturally interesting temples appeared.

And in the middle of all these buildings there is a beautiful garden, where it is simply pleasant to stroll and relax in the shade of rose bushes, and admire the pond with water lilies. Detachment from worldly concerns is what makes this place worth visiting, even if you are not a believer.

After resting in the shadow of the monastery walls, move on.

The central place in the park is occupied by the world's longest suspended pedestrian bridge - the SkyBridge - with a length of 439 m. For some, even just a walk along this suspension bridge over the abyss, at an altitude of more than 200 meters, will become extreme. But during the walk you can enjoy the magnificent panoramic views: on the one hand - to the Caucasus Mountains, on the other - to Black Sea coast. Be sure to take a walk if you do not suffer from a fear of heights.

A ticket for a walk along the bridge costs 1,500 rubles for adults and 800 rubles for adults. children's And for those who truly love thrills Skypark offers high-altitude rides.

Tandem jump: not so scary for two?

Also on the territory of Skypark there is a rope adventure park “Mowgli”, an interactive museum of world bungee jumping, and a climbing wall with an area of 1200 sq.m. and 18 m high, an amphitheater where concerts and festivals take place all summer, and a panoramic restaurant at the very edge of the gorge.

On the descent from the mountain where the Sky Park is located, there is another local attraction - Akhshtyrskaya Cave . Of course, it’s funny to compare it with the New Athos Cave in Abkhazia - it’s not the same scale, but it’s still interesting to see. Moreover, the road to it will not take much time - 300-400 meters down from the park. At the same time, you will walk through a beautiful forest.

Akhshtyrskaya cave is an object of Sochi national park, so they charge an entrance fee. Cost: adult – 150 rubles, children – 70 rubles. And it became famous because, according to archaeologists, there was a parking lot here in ancient times primitive man. And there is also a good legend that it was in these places that Odysseus met with the Cyclops. Thanks to all these stories, Akhshtyrskaya Cave is quite popular place from tourists.

Akhshtyrskaya cave.

Going down the road from the cave, you will find yourself in the village of Cossack Brod. They'll be right in your way And glassblowing workshop.

Adler trout farm is the largest fish breeding facility in Russia. The “Adler” trout was bred here, capable of living both in the river and in the sea. An excursion to a trout farm usually takes no more than half an hour. But in these 25-30 minutes you will learn how trout are bred and raised, what varieties live in the numerous pools of the trout farm (it is these pools that are clearly visible from suspension bridge in Skypark), you can become a participant in feeding the fish.

The trout farm has a store with all kinds of fresh fish.

The next point on your route could be glassblowing show at the Art Glass Workshop. Here you can get acquainted with the process of making glass products. Watching the deft movements of the masters, you never cease to be amazed at the metamorphoses that occur with glass. Here it is soft and pliable like dough, stretches and curls with tongs into all sorts of shapes, and after a few minutes it becomes fragile...

After the show, take a stroll through the sales area, where exclusive works of local glassblowers are presented - I have not seen such a variety of shapes and colors since I visited a similar workshop in Venice, Italy, where the famous Murano glass is produced. Very elegant and original products can be purchased if desired. True, the price tags on some of them bite.

And you can finish your weekend itinerary at "Hamshensky yard" . This is an ethnographic complex and a restaurant at the same time. It's hard not to notice it - the building itself looks like medieval castle, and nearby there is something resembling Noah’s Ark. In general, don’t be lazy, go into the ethnographic exhibition room and look at the exhibits. And then, with a clear conscience, taste the local cuisine.
